Booking.com will tell you anything to not return your money but MaryLynn explained how third parties such as them operate. It took well over an hour to cancel with booking.com and then they had to call MaryLynn while I'm there with her. They will complete the cancellation and return my deposit in full. (It will take 5 to 10 business days they said) DO NOT go through third party such as booking.com or Expedia. Call MaryLynn and/or whoever else is managing on her days off. Every room has at least a partial ocean view balcony. The double queen room was kind of mid, with the typical cheap'ish plastic gray floors and decor. It gave me a little too much of a budget feel or maybe a better modern holiday inn feel, but it was fine. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was crazy friendly. We were able to get to the hotel at around noon and check in even though our room and check in time was at 4. They let us know as soon as our room was ready, which was two hours early. The elephant in the room........ I don't know how else to explain it, but underneath the citrus/coconut/beach'ish fragrance in the room was a very slight kind of sewage odor. I also smelled what seemed like a faint smell of sewage in the hallway and outside of the hotel. However, I am VERY picky about smells in my hotels to the point of annoyance with my wife. She didn't smell anything. Otherwise, this place was great. A 2-3 nights stay seems perfect.

We started vacationing at Las Olas when our oldest granddaughter was 5 years old. She is now a college professor, so we have been coming every year for quite some time. Built an managed by a great family and wonderful staff, Las Olas has provided many years of great joy for Jan and I, our children, grandchildren, and we are now anxious to start sharing our great summer vacations with our first great granddaughter. It was nice to get to know other families and to be social but we were also able to just be with our family and have quality time together. We did participate in the resort games and social activities but there was no pressure to do so. The pool was always clean and so was the resort. The condo's are very spacious. The staff was always willing to help in any way and were very hospitable. We absolutely loved our surf lessons with Lani! This is a must do if you stay here. And his art classes were great. We also did a boat tour with Captain Quinn and had a fabulous time. Honestly, staying at Las Olas was a different experience from any other beach vacation I have had! The hospitality and friendly staff and owners made for a great vacation! The Beach was not crowded, neither was the pool. We had a blast surfing and swimming in the ocean. We highly recommend this resort and hope to come again.

There is a mini bar to order your drinks while lounging by the pool. There isnt many seats by the pool but it wasnt that packed. If you go to the beach, you will need to rent a chair or umbrella unless you have one. The only shade provided is sitting under/beside the pier. But even then random water falls and from where it dropped did not look sanitary. The room was quiet except when the neighbors kept slamming their doors. There are elevators but it does have many stairwells to get up and down from your floor. Breakfast was nice. They had bi uits and grave, bacon, potatoes, eggs, cereal (4), yogurt, boiled egg, oatmeal, juice, coffee and waffles. They also have fresh fruit that we took to go on our way to NASA JFK center (only 30ish minutes away) There were a few places to eat nearby without having to get back on the main road.

It would have been nice to have a full size refrigerator. We would have been able to cook more meals if we would have had a larger fridge to store the food. There is also a small microwave. The living room had one chair, a small couch and a large tv. The bedroom was good sized. It had a queen size bed, a dresser and a small chair. It would have been nice to have a king size bed as that is what we have at home (that took a few days to get use to). And then there is a full bathroom off of the bedroom. It's a bit small and there is a pedestal sink so not a lot of room for hairbrushes/toiletries, etc. There are some small cubbies above the toilet though. The beach is very close to the rooms, maybe 40 feet away. The owners of this motel are super friendly. All in all, it was a very pleasant week there. We would definitely stay there again. PS - there is a fabulous restaurant directly across the street called The Blueberry Muffin that serves breakfast and lunch. It is a must!! Ask for your muffin to be grilled

Decided to stay and we are so glad we did. Stephanie the owner is so nice and helpful. There isn't a host on site from 6pm-8am but she is easy to get ahold of if needed. The resort grounds are kept VERY clean and tidy. Pool and pool patio were cleaned each morning. The pool is not heated but my son didn't mind the cooler water after being on the beach all day. Plenty of lounge chairs around pool and seating outside the pool area on a patio over looking the beach. Steps down to the beach were kept clean led off and clear of clutter. It would be really nice to have a ramp going down to the beach. Was a little tricky getting our beach cart down the stairs. The ice machine was out of service while we were there so we did have to buy ice for our fish but hopefully it will be available next time we visit. A big plus was the water hose available for us to wash out our coolers and beach gear. Patio also has 2 enclosed beach showers to rinse off as well. The overall feel was very cozy and relaxed. We stayed in room 104 on the bottom floor. King bed with pull out couch. Mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We didn't pull out the bed since the couch was super comfortable so my son didn't want it pulled out. The provided LOTS of pillows which was VERY impressive. Room was very well laid out and clean. Shower was a little awkward since it's an open concept but water pressure was perfect. Hot and cold water worked very well. King bed was VERY comfortable. Firm but not rock hard. Hubby and I both slept like a rock. Big TVs in living room and bedroom. Lots of windows to let in all the sunshine! I only have a few suggestions/tips to add: 1. Heavier blankets. We had bedding for the pull out but a few heavier blankets would be nice. After being in the sun all day it's nice to be in a cold room under cozy blankets. 2. A sink in the kitchen area would be so helpful. Running back and forth to the bathroom to use the sink was a little annoying but not enough to dampen this review. 3. A broom and dust pan. This is a MUST. After 2 hours of being there our floor was covered in sand. I had no way of sweeping it up and since the bathroom was in the bedroom, we had a ton of sand on the floor beside the bed. 4. Sand rugs beside the bed to wipe feet on before getting in the bed. (I HATE sand in my bed) All in All this is a perfect place to stay if you're looking for direct beach access. We will 100% be coming back.
