Because of how uncomfortable the situation became, we decided to cut our shopping short and only purchased a banana. At checkout, I explained what had happened to the cashier and even asked whether theft of a $3.99 tote bag was really such a concern. It was frustrating to feel judged over something so minor, especially when we had no intention of doing anything wrong. Overall, the experience left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. The attitude was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. Delivery shoppers are also customers helping bring business to the store. A little basic assistance and respect would make a huge difference.
