Busy cafe with lovely staff. More offerings than the name implies! We went for bagels but plan on coming back to try their soups and specials. Great ratio of cream cheese to bagel. Bagel has strong chew to it that I enjoyed. Our order came with a side of coleslaw, which was saucy and flavorful. Was excited to try this place for the first time after a friend recommended and I was wholly disappointed. I really try to support local and seldom make a review like this but wow.. driest bagel in recent memory. So dry and so stale that I had to throw it out after two bites. They also got both my husband and I's orders totally wrong but we were willing to look past that if the food was good. We were in town at a somewhat nearby hotel and didn't want breakfast there. We were in NY, so why not bagels? Did some searching and this location came up. For a Saturday morning, it wasn't too busy when we arrived. I went with a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich. My wife had a plain sesame seed bagel toasted. Both were good! While we do have some solid bagel options in CT, it was nice to have a bagel from NY. Service was good and business picked up just after we sat down to eat. We opted to get a few extra bagels to bring home with us. Happy to report they were delicious! read more

After dropping off my car at a nearby auto shop, I looked for a place get some breakfast. Usually, I would've gone to Pascucci deli which was located next door, but it had closed. So, I decided to give this place a shot. Honestly, if it wasn't for the full parking lot, I wouldn't have known it was open! Sure enough, the inside was rather dark. I used Sea Cliff Bagel Dafe to cater my father's memorial service and couldn't be happier. We had baguet sandwiches, a fruit platter, and lemonade, all delivered on time. Wow. I'm a little stunned by all the very bad reviews. The bagels here are great and I've found the staff to be very pleasant. Of course, I tend to go in when I've awakened at 5:30 am and really need to have a bagel, so I'm beating the general rush and getting a very fresh bagel. It's the first place I tried a blueberry bagel (because they were out of everything else except onion--this was on a Sunday afternoon) and that was a revelation in yumminess. It's pretty clear (to me at least) that this store is not necessarily a hotbed of activity all day every day. The freshly-made breakfast foods look nice, but I've gone in and seen the same-looking foods in the case a couple of days in a row, so clearly they're just turning over the bagels every day. Which, by the way, is totally normal in a little place like this. My one complaint is that the outside isn't lit when they open in the morning, which makes it hard to find at 5:45 am when I really need a bagel. read more

Possibly the worst bagel place on Long Island. We ordered several bagels, including a bagel with tomato and cream cheese. (See picture) unbelievable that they only put a small amount of crème cheese. I went to bagel cafe to pick up something quick on a Thursday; egg bagel with chicken salad. A classic. I didn't eat it till I was about 10 minutes away from the bagel shop. Open the wrapping. Huge smell of something sour/rancid. As I put it closer to eat.....TOTALLY RACIN. I couldn't even put it in my mouth. Wrapped it back up and put it in a bag. Couldn't go back because I was on my way to work in Manhattan. Next day; Friday. Went over to the bagel cafe first thing in the morning to get a refund on bad food. Told the woman/maybe owner. About what happened and I couldn't eat the bagel and that I would like a refund. I was very polite and gave her enough information for a legitimate refund. She then asks me "where is it?" I say, "well when I got to the city my car smelled like spoiled dairy; so I had to throw it away" she wouldn't give me a refund, she was rude and she is clueless to the fact she is serving rancid food!! She could of turned a bad situation into a good one but she failed to do that. Do not go there you will get sick. The platters were delivered on time, the presentation was beautiful, the portions generous, the food delicious and the price extremely fair. This bagel, if you want to call it that, has seen better days. I so want to support local businesses but, I just can't support this store anymore. On a number of occasions I have gone in to get a bagel and have been told, " sorry we are out of plain bagels". Yes I did say plain. Answer me this how can you not make enough plain bagels? This place has THE BEST sunflower seed bagels. The only problem? The fact that you sit down to enjoy it and the North Shore High kids come in. All they do is throw their Tory Burch and Louis Vuitton bags around like they own the place...GET REAL HONIES! Do you even know the value of a dollar?! I guess its a typical Long Island bagel store. Bagels, coffee, lunch items, etc.... The bagel and cream cheese was above average as was the coffee. But the service was so slow. They were teaching a young guy to take and fill orders and then ring them up at the register. It was painful to watch. And it was a little expensive compared to other similar places in Nassau County. The place is clean, although a little small, and the parking lot is also a little small, although they have it all to themselves. Unlike other reviewers, I have never had an issue with the High School students who are sometimes there. I had gone to this place years ago. It was pretty solid. I recently returned and it was the worst breakfast I've had in a long time. The service was fine and friendly, the quality was just not there. Ordered a breakfast sandwich, it was on a day old kaiser roll. That kills the sandwhich for me. Got a toasted egg bagel with butter. Threw half of it out, worst bagel I've had in a long time. I came here with two friends around 2 on a Thursday and there was only one employee working (a guy probably in his late 40s). He took each of our orders and then left to go make them, which struck me as poorly managed since a line started to form and the only employee was absent. When we ordered we told him our orders were separate, but when he rang us up he did it all together. My friend said "oh I'm sorry if you didn't hear us before but we would like desperate checks please" and the guy loudly groaned and walked away. Everyone in the restaurant just looked at each other in disbelief... like is this guy serious?? We then told him it was okay and he could just put it all together since he was so visibly upset by the daunting task of separating two sandwiches and a bagel into 3 checks. I work in the restaurant industry, and you need to be prepared for people to want separate checks. Not only that, but no matter what a customer does to annoy you, you cannot groan to their face. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Other than that, I really liked my everything bagel with veggie cream cheese, and my friends loved their sandwiches, so maybe other people could have a good experience here if this guy isn't working. read more

Can't say enough great things about Sea Cliff Bagel Cafe! Bagels are cooked to perfection, prepared dishes are fresh and delicious.. Even the desserts are terrific. Many are "home made" on the premises. Don't ever go anywhere else if you want to cater your next party.. I've catered several parties from here and all were terrific with incredible presentation! Now for my favorite. Their omelettes! No one and I mean NO ONE makes a better omelette than Scott does. Along with being an amazing cook/chef, He's so nice and friendly. He will happily prepare one ( or anything you want. Try an omelette or else, have him prepare your favorite dish. I promise you will not be disappointed..He will prepare it any way you like. As matter of fact, he, as well as his terrific coworkers will happily customize anything that you love to your needs and specification. Christmas Dinner out of this world! My husband and I had to work on Christmas and ordered a turkey dinner from the Sea Cliff Bagel Cafe. It was the best ever! The turkey was incredibly moist and delicious. Mashed potatoes and stuffing were delicious! Roasted Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked! Even the salad was outstanding. My kids raved about the meal. Surprised by the incredible meal, we want to recommend this restaurant and Chef Matthew to everyone!
