Every once in a while, I'm in the mood for some oily and greasy diner food. This place is really good to order from and better to sit and eat at. The food is what you'd expect from a diner. The portions are really good the prices are reasonable. My one gripe, their ordering system in their website is a maze of different vendors and they all charge different prices. In the end, just call them up and you'll probably get the lowest price. It's been a staple in this small area and it's definitely hidden off the beaten path. The worst food ever I ordered a Greek Gyro platter. It came with Russian dressing. My husband had to go back three times so they can get it right. They still didn't get it right it's the worst experience we ever had terrible service they don't care super expensive not worth it we tried it not worth our time. I give it one star because I have to give some kind of store. It's garbage do not go there warning bad. The icing and the cake is that we ordered a Gyro. The Parking lot is spacious, just be warned if you have someone in a wheechair. The push up to the door is a good upper and lower body workout. The landing area and door opening is tight for a wheel chair to maneuver in, as well as a little 2 inch step at the door threshold. I don't normally give 5 stars on everything but this place "takes the cake", I mean literally. I ordered a spinach feta cheese omelette that wasn't even on their menu and they made it for me. I added home fries and rye toast. Instead I got "kibbles and bits" on the potatoes and marble rye. I don't want to site the potatoes as significant but to be honest I was expecting chunks of potatoes as if it was cut fresh. My friend had a club sandwich and fries that looked spectacular. It was so good and big from the picture enclosed he couldn't finish it. Let me add the attention to the coffee service. The natural light coming through all those large windows worked well also with the ambience of the place. The Diner has 2 bathrooms co-ed, both with modern amenities and CLEAN. I used to work in the area years ago and always enjoyed the food. I live out of the area now and on my way to the East End I wanted a nice breakfast that I so remembered. The Diner had been completely renovated since my last visit and nicely done. However, my eggs Benedict was horrific. Both the English muffins and the home fries were burnt. The eggs were over cooked and topped off with just a teaspoon of hollandaise sauce without any garnish of parsley to make it somewhat appetizing. The waiter must of been disappointed in his tip because it was not generous due to his inability to realize he shouldn't of served this food to me. read more

Today was the third time and I had it. I ordered a burger here. Of course rare and this is the third time they used old hard meat and brought it well done. On top of that, for the first time, they gave me these old very salty fries that were not even hot and somewhat cold. Did they bring leftover fries to me? Rare that I write a review.. but this Diner deserves any praise it can get. Honestly, just visited to spend an hour ahead of a 7pm wake service in Glen Cove.. and was greatly surprised. I ordered their signature Godfather Wrap. When I mentioned it our waiter highly recommended it. It was a food coupling I had never encountered before - red sauce pasta in a wrap with vodka sauce dip. Some may stray, but I immediately was interested in finding out just how such an entree would taste - and it was truly delicious. The tortilla of the wrap was truly the perfect level of lightly breaded and crispy while retaining the softness of the tortilla. Inside, the combination of fried chicken, penne pasta, marinara sauce and mozzarella was absolutely delectable. The fries were done very nicely - my favorite thickness and quite crispy but not too much so. The atmosphere and service was rather average otherwise - nothing to write home about, nothing noteworthy. We visited on a slow Thursday night 30 minutes before closing. Although there were hardly any guests, we did start to notice we had been waiting for a decent bit before our food finally came out to us. The waiters also did not check on us after receiving our drink or food orders - we reminded our waiter for our waiters when our food finally came out. The waiters were pleasant. The negatives being said, I'm sure the restaurant when properly staffed on weekends is a fine atmospheric and service experience. The prices are very reasonable for New York. If you are looking for delicious food at reasonable prices, this is the place. Expect no more and you will be anything but disappointed. It seems fair to give this restaurant a very good rating. While I am rounding up, the food really boosts the average of the scores. The rest of the aspects of the restaurant are just the same as any general sit-down restaurant in your local city. Went in alone one rainy Sunday afternoon craving the hell out of some corned beef hash. I've never been here before and honestly hash can be hit or miss. DELICIOUS. Wonderfully crisp edges and tender inside. I ordered it as a side and asked for a poached egg on top which really brought it all together because it was perfectly soft. Coffee was hot and strong (who doesn't love a combo like that) and my cup was always full. I also ordered a short stack of banana nut pancakes because why not. We ordered 4 entrees 1st the chocolate chip and bannana pancakes . the first pancake had chips the rest had nothing and it felt like you were eating a sponge horrible.
