The listing for the vacation rental we chose started this way "Enjoy the stunning ocean view right across the street from your living room deck and your primary bedroom deck". That is why we chose this unit - for the so-called stunning view, but this was not the case at all. There was zero view of the beach from our rental and only a tiny sliver of a view several doors down where you could see a little piece of ocean water that was way beyond the waves. The interior of our rental was nicely, remodeled and apparently not too long ago, and most of it was in good or very good condition. However, not having the promised view really took most of the fun out, of our enjoyment since we always like to spend time watching the waves and the people going up and down the beach. Too bad we couldn't see any of that because of the tightly grouped houses blocking our view. read more

Pubis hair in bathtub, white substance on faucet and on curtains, rusted door and rusted door frame with duct tape, ceiling chipping and leaking. Couldn't lock sliding doors. When I calked about nasty bathroom, they wanted to send thie cleaning crew, I refused and told them it should been clean right first time! So with that being said, they refuse to refund any money paid! I paid alot for that condo and for it be in such bad shape I should have my money back!! read more

Loved our stay at St Regis #2404 Driftwood Dreams, found the property suitable for a nice family weekend at the beach. the staff were friendly and condo building kept very tidy. However after checkout we were billed $355 to replace a living room TV in our unit; we were certain that there was no damage to the TV before we left. The SeaCoast Rentals representative on the phone stated a different room TV was broken, and when we requested photos of the damage I received a return call that they apologized but didn't have damage appearing in the photos and would be refunding the charge. Everything else about our stay was so nice, we are very disheartened to have experienced this suspicious situation with an erroneous and unvalidated charge to our credit card. Thankful for the representative who helped me try to verify damage and was able to refund the cost to us. read more

The tub had pubis hair and toe print. The kitchen faucet hasps whit substance on it long the whit substa on the curtains in bedroom. One sliding door was covered in duct tape. The main sliding door wouldn't lock and had to use a stick in track. The ceiling was chipping way and starting leaking. The dryer lint lid wouldn't stay in and our clothes was sucked in. I called about the nasty bathroom and wanted to send a cleaning crew back and i said no. I would clean it. so with that being said. They refund to give me any kind of refund. I would give it a 0 if I could. Ocean Dunes 0903, Kure Beach is managed by Sea Coast Rentals and in need major repairs and replacements. Floors have water damage and carpets peeling/stained. Walls stained and paint peeling. Deck furniture was old and unstable which need replacements. In addition to the structural condition of the condo, it was dirty! The pullout coach had cereal and sand in it; chocolate and stains on the coach cushions, and pillows. We had to wipe down surfaces ourselves. The amount of dirty that came off the stair railings and banisters was gross. Even our linen delivery service had soiled and stained towels. This place should not be advertised and is using old photos. Also, "palmetto bug" (aka roach) warning on the refrigerator. We left as soon as I saw one! Checked in on Thursday, left on Saturday morning! We were supposed to stay until Monday. Still, all would have been good if the rental company could have found us a more suitable place to stay, but they said "they didn't have anything else available" and they didn't even refund us the days we didn't stay, or for the cleaning fee and linen package. They stated that we were in an "economy" rental...like "economy" rentals don't deserved the same cleanliness or customer services??? I guess not! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. The unit (605 Pelican Ct Kure Beach, NC 28449) was infested with beg bugs prior to our arrival. As another reviewer similarly stated, this company has caused us the worst experience we have ever endured while staying at any sort of rental during vacation. We suffered multiple bites since the first night we arrived, and assumed them to initially be mosquito bites before doing our research. We have never experienced bed bugs in our lives, prior to this visit. When contacting Sea Coast Rentals, they flat out denied the possibility of bed bugs by making multiple excuses, such as calling the bites being caused by sea lice, or having the shown bugs with picture proof being called baby cockroaches or ticks. After capturing several live bed bugs, and even showing multiple of them in different Ziploc bag to a manager, they claimed they were too big to be one, and stated they were most possibly baby cockroaches, which has absolutely no likeness or similarity to bed bugs, AND cockroaches do not bite people to suck blood. Some family members had severe reactions, of which we went to a local urgent care facility that immediately confirmed the bites to be from bed bugs. Since the night we arrived home, we have been restlessly cleaning and being cautious for possible bed bugs that we may have brought home due to this rental's issue. To this day, we are still suffering from physical and emotional trauma, as well as dealing with further personal damages. Lastly, the host's response to the entire situation has not been helpful in the slightest, going as far as being very irresponsible and inadequate in terms of their actions taken. For instance, they have constantly minimized our issues until we had to demand an exterminator for an inspection, and within minutes of their arrival, they had found everything they needed to know. After the inspection, we also had to demand a new alternative housing, as the current housing (listed above) was uninhabitable. Be warned that even though their response may be fast, it may not be what you need in the slightest. read more

This business has a C- BBB rating. We rented a home in Topsail beach for the week of July 27 through August 3rd. We were tole the Friday before we arrived on Saturday that the AC in one room (3 beds) was not working, but would be repaired on Tuesday. It was never repaired. The master bathroom was un-usable because the tub and shower both leaked into the living/dining area below. The house was infested with roaches. The ceiling in the master bedroom collapsed 3:30 in the morning on out final night's stay, and there was no empty bed for me and my boyfriend to sleep due to the 3 beds being unavailable. We did receive some compensation, but not enough to cover the inconvenience of being 3 beds short, having to use another bathroom not connected to the master bedroom, not being able to let the babies in the floor due to the bugs, and the trauma of having an 8 foot x 4 foot piece of ceiling collapse in your bedroom while you sleep, just missing the bed. I feel that 1/2 the rental would be acceptable, they do not. read more

Our family has been renting properties on the coast of North Carolina for at least the last 15 years and we have had some really wonderful experiences with property management companies. However, when it comes to Seacoast, I have to say this was the WORST experience we have had by far. The house we rented through this agency - called Sandstep 619-2 - was clearly designed to do one thing: drive as much rental income and property management commission as possible with as little expense as required. The house was sorely in need of repairs: - The washer flooded into the floor - A shard of metal was sticking out of a burned electrical wall socket - The dishwasher also flooded - There was an active wasp nest on the deck (I had to remove it bc Seacoast wouldn't come out quickly enough) - The blinds were broken - The deck furniture was missing rickety and was missing hardware - The carpet was filthy - The HVAC filters were visibly black from being neglected....I could go on. Lest you think I am reviewing the property and not Seacoast..... The worst part of all of this is that Seacoast really was of little help. They continually committed to fix things but we had to follow up and follow up to get them to help out. Bottom line: I know that property management companies are slammed during the mid-summer month's, but my recommendation to Seacoast: Require your property owners to get their rentals up to minimum requirements or drop them from your portfolio if you can't repair them in time for your guests to have a nice family vacation. I would avoid using Seacoast. (Prediction: they will respond to this review with appreciative comments and a commitment to do better...I highly doubt they will do anything differently in the future bc they simply don't have to) read more

4 stars simply for the fact that it took us about an hour to be able to check In. Apparently their system isn't supposed to let anyone check in 24 hours before arrival. We schedule via VRBO. with a company of their size one would think that there would be someone monitoring this kind of stuff occasionally throughout the morning, afternoon, evening & night. We made the reservation at 7:30 on Saturday evening and Sunday at 4pm there was no trace of anyone knowing we were supposed to check in. Thank God for the maintenance man who came over and gave us the keys and then fought the horrible memorial day traffic to bring us our linens. As for the place, it was fabulous. 1002 Ocean Dunes. If you read about the employees and the company I noticed the president's about notes the following " Our entire team works hard on growing our business relationships with all of our clients and creating an amazing experience for everyone we connect with." I regret to say this was not our experience with Sea Coast. We recently rented a home through them for a family vacation, first in years. We arrived at the home and the second floor was at 120 degrees. The house was not rented out the week prior and they failed to check the property prior to our arrival. They sent someone to check things out and said the AC wasn't on. Told us to they fixed it and to open the windows and doors while it works to get going. A while later we were told to close the doors/windows, which resulted in the temps rising again. So we called back and they sent someone out to check the units. The HVAC company disconnected the heat and said there was something broken on the unit. There was a chance he could get the part the next day but wasn't positive. The part did not come the next day, but seas coast brought 2 window units and a free standing unit. Helped a little but with so much running we constantly blew a fuse trying to run laundry through it the garbage disposal. We never received an update and then a couple days into our stay they showed up trying to take the window units and that the unit was fixed. Someone had been home at the time and said we were never informed the unit was fixed and no one stopped in to let us know. We reached out informing the office of the issue and we're pretty much called liars and that someone had fixed it and we knew. They hardly let my mother speak when she tried to inform them of the situation. A day later processed to offer laundry service for the week and a gift card to a restaurant that we had no interest in. We were already half way through our stay and had arranged plans the rest of the week. We had three children staying in the home, 2 under a year, special detergent is used for their laundry and there are laundry detergent allergies are present in both sides. Plus the option of losing/shrinking items wasn't something we wanted to get into being 10 hours away from home. They said they would review and follow up with an additional options. At this point between the disrespect, lack of communication and the overall dissatisfaction of the entire stay, we were looking for composition for the hassle. The counter offer never came while we were there. They wait until we were home, and said they couldn't offer anything and that the owner of the home couldn't do anything more than what was offered. We were at Mermaid Crossing and extremely disappointed with how things were handled. They overall experience was ruined due to poor business behavior. We don't not few heard or valued as you guests. A solution to make all parties satisfied was not achieved. We are hoping to do trips like this again as the area was wonderful. We will not be using Sea Coast for future endeavors and we will be sharing our feedback with future vacationers. read more

Absolutely the worst rental company here!!!! We have been visiting this beach for 20+ years and have never had a worse experience. Where do I start.... We got down to the house and things were great until Wednesday night....we had washed dishes, showered and were in the process of washing clothes when we smelled the worst of smells. We went to the basement to attempt to find the source of the awful scent and the basement was flooded!! We figured out that the sewage was leaking back ln to the house...gross! We called United after hours and got Dennis who was nice and arrived quickly. When he got to the house there was now more sewage across the basement floor and toilet paper was coming out of the pipes. Notice during this whole process there was no back up problems with the house...the pipes outside were the ones clogging up and causing all of this damage. Dennis told us there was nothing he could do tonight and they had no other houses available to move us too except one that slept 4 people. The house smelled SO BAD and they were not even offering to put us up in a hotel or anything even though there was sewage gas leaking in the house and we had a small child with us. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! So we went out and found a hotel ON OUR OWN that was cheap for all of us to cram in for the night so we could actually sleep and not inhale that poisonous gas. Obviously they cared NOTHING about us because they gave us some odor spray and said have a good night lol really??? Well the next day..the city stopped by to "fix" the problem and they made two different trips and at about 4:00 that afternoon, after we had to go to the pier and public restrooms around the house to use the bathroom, WE HAD TO CALL AND GET THE STATUS OF THE PLUMBING....no one from the rental office called us at all. At 4:15 the child we had with us took a shower after a day on the beach, a couple toilets were flushed and guess what we smelled??? SEWAGE!! That's right. The problem was not fixed. We refused to stay there unless they fixed the problem. Well after almost 24 hours of this problem they FINALLY called the owner of the house. She had no idea any of this was going on until now. Once she found out we talked to her and told her everything. She was nothing but apologetic. SHE FINALLY GOT THE PROBLEM STRAIGHT...not the rental company who is paid to handle these problems. Well that night we were able to stay in the house and all was well....until check out Saturday. We were refunded for our night in the hotel of $135....however...we were NEVER refunded for our 24 hour day that we couldn't shower, use the bathroom, or cook dinner in our $2000 for the week ocean front house that we had rented. How pathetic. KATRINA was who we dealt with at the rental office and talk about RUDE!!!!!!! Oh my goodness. Never have I ever had to deal with some one who is soooooo lacking in any common sense what so ever. If you have a family at a rental property you manage you need to handle a sewage leak. You don't treat the situation like you would a broken tv. It was so pathetic. Then, after we had been EXTREMELY nice and understanding about the situation rather than getting angry, she refuses to refund at least one night of the rental, she made it very clear they were not giving us any money except a $135 refund for the one night that 7 people crammed into a hotel room that was not ocean front that WE HAD TO LOOK FOR ON OUR OWN AT 12:00 A.M on the Wednesday night we had the initial leak. What????? Oh and when we were out looking for hotels she asked us "not to break the bank"...how about you have a back up plan for these things lady...this isn't our responsibility to fix this it's yours!!!! Finally, they gave us back $95 to "total" the one night we didn't stay at the house but that didn't include the tax or anything just the owner cost...lol obviously they couldn't offer any money because they did nothing wrong....YEA...Ok. THEN KATRINA, with all her wonderful customer service, tells me that she never wanted us to rent from the company again all because I critiqued her and the company's way of handling the WHOLE situation. Please know that while telling her how poorly they handled the situation all I said was they had poor communication and the situation should have been handled better. Never was I or anyone staying in the vacation home rude to them in anyway!!! Then she hung up on me. How pleasant.... We are planning a wedding for next year in this area and will be needing to rent several houses and we will choose another rental company, no questions asked. This place isn't even worth the hassle!!! For such an awesome place Carolina Beach is this place is a blemish on the island and I am sad we had to endure such awful treatment from a place that is supposed to rent you a home to relax and they ended up doing nothing but causing a major headache. read more

Reserved Ocean Dunes 1301, several months ago, for Sep 18-25. Four days before, they informed us that they would spray for bugs mid-stay. We politely enquired whether it might be delayed a few days, because we had an infant. The inexperienced manager was rude as well as unhelpful. Then we were surprised with cancellation of reservation THREE days before arrival. Luckily, we found another rental, very lovely, with great communication, with different rental company, and vacation was saved. I will never use Sea Coast Rentals, and i am sure owner of rental would be very unhappy to hear of rental income lost. read more

I have never had such a horrible experience with a professional or company in my entire life. From day 1 of my long term rental, I had to constantly email and call to get anything done. Everything was disorganized and unprofessional. However, I was desperate for a rental as I was closing on a townhouse down the street and fell through last minute. I was supposed to move in August 1st (I was moving to Wilmington to a job I started on Aug 6th) which was already cutting it close, but then they contacted me (after I had said I wanted it, paid the fee, etc) and said it wouldn't be available until the 1st of September. So here I am, moving in from out of state to start a job and I was homeless. It was a mess. After moving in, I had to harass the person taking care of my unit to try to get the power, water, etc in my name. Eventually, I received an email from another person saying that my account had been transferred to them. That person was great for a couple of months, and then I had the same issues. I had to contact the person who owned the unit and tell them that I was about to move out and couldn't even get ahold of anyone at the company - nor could the person who was supposed to be moving in. I find out that person who I had been dealing with was being "let go" and I had to contact her supervisor. Long story short, I had to constantly contact this company and demand for communication and customer service, which I RARELY got, even when I called and emailed multiple times a day, every day. I was also charged a "cleaning fee" to get it cleaned prior to my move on the day I signed the rental agreement. However, it was DISGUSTING and needed deep cleaning when I moved in. I complained and emailed the company photos of the disgusting state of the rental, but they did nothing. Then, even though I had already been charged a $125 cleaning fee and still cleaning out, swept, etc when I moved out, I was charged additional for "cleaning" and then extra days of rent even though the new tenant was supposed to be paying for the month of April? I own a rental property at the beach, and this is the LAST company on earth I would get to manage it. Their lack of professionalism and customer support is absolutely APPALLING. read more

There are several beds at the property I rented with dips in the middle. Tv in one room didn't even turn on. It was not advertised as an apartment building I thought I was renting a house. It was advertised as "some stairs" but really 6 flights of stairs. In my party I have people with health issues and some stairs would've been okay but not 6 flights. I would've found something else. The parking may have been okay but it wasn't. There was remolding and construction happening so they were using the spots and places to park not to mention all the noise but the noise was okay. So unfortunately will not be looking at this place again for a stay. read more

We found sea coast rentals when coming from out of town as travel nurses and after calling and talking with a couple rental agencies chose them since they were so helpful in finding us a house in a budget that allowed dogs right away. The office staff and maintanence team have been wonderful in promptly responding to any concerns we've had during our stay. Even when there was an issue with the ac unit they immediately brought a temporary unit so we were comfortable the same day and had the issue resolved the next day. I have referred other travelers to this company already and would advice anyone looking in the area to check out sea coast! read more

I liked the condo we rented for the week through Sea Coast Rentals, but I was disappointed with the company's customer service. I called three times to ask them to send someone because the television in our living room did not work. They kept saying they would send someone but never did, and we were at the condo for a week. Also, there was no broom or vacuum in the condo. We left a message requesting that they bring one to us, but they never called back. I understand they are busy, but it's pretty slack to not provide a way to clean the floors in the condo rental, and ultimately creates more work for the cleaning crew. I finally went and bought one on Thursday and left it there for the next group to use. I will not rent from Sea Coast again. read more

I booked one of there properties on 6/16. On 7/2 the state of NC is listed as a hot zone and the state of CT where I live requires 2 weeks quarantine coming back from any of the listed states. What luck. How was I supposed to know? Talk about no empathy or business Morals. My trip was for 8/1 so I was inside of 30 days and they refused to cancel and refund me. LITTLE DISAPPOINTED We have stayed at the TJ House many times. We got to meet the owner once. He was here from Ohio(I believe)to work on the other house he owns on Carolina Beach, very nice man. This house definitely needs some TLC at this point. Both bathroom sinks er clogged, one of toilets runs (have to jiggle handle) TERRIBLE mold on the grout in main bath, black mold starting to grow on some walls and ceiling. I do LOVE this place despite the neglect and would love to return. I was so pleased that the access to the beach was available again ! Yes, you do have to be careful but last year you had to walk a short distance to Freeman Park to access the beach because of the boulders they had to place because of erosion, that was not enjoyable if you wanted to go fishing caring all the items you need to do so.The location is perfect for us and our dog. We are enjoying scenic oceanfront at TJ House near the north end pier and Freeman Park for select months this winter (2016-17) and It has been wonderful for our family (including our pets). The staff at Sea Coast have been very friendly and professional and the communication has been exemplary. My family & I stayed at Cousin Eddy's with Sea Cost Rentals & yikes!! If I could give it 0 starts, I would. I've stayed at many hotels in Kure, Wilmington & Carolina, have been coming to the area for 20 years now. This was by far terrible. They mention a couple of steps, not a flight or more. (My uncle has cancer, so imagine the disbelief we were in.) next, we walk into the condo, & there are stains ALL over each couch. Don't really wanna know what those were(: lol. NEXT, the ac doesn't work. Instead of going down, it just keeps going up. To 80 to be exact. It literally feels better outside than it does inside. Beach front? I think not. You can see a glimpse of the beach depending on the corner of which you are standing at. Also, if you have a four runner, good freaking luck parking in the designated area. Not a good fit. If we wanted to get out of the car. We had to park elsewhere. Then, cardboard in the hallways, along with cockroaches. Lastly, I get people have to work, but jeeez!!! We could barely relax on the back porch without hearing loud construction workers working on the house right beside of us!! read more

Living in a one bedroom in Carolina Beach I don't have a lot of space for visitors, but luckily United Beach Vacations/Sea Coast Rentals is there whenever my family is coming to town! We have rented through them several times, and each time has been an amazing experience from booking all the way through check out. Each time we've booked, Katrina has been our main point of contact, and I can't stress enough how much of a joy it is working with her. Depending on the trip and how many people are coming down, our needs have varied from just a small condo to needing a beach house, and each time Katrina has found the perfect place for my family to stay! As happens from time to time, there was a small hiccup in the trip last summer when one of the bathroom drains was clogged. But the maintenance man, Dennis, came out and quickly fixed the problem. He was great and is definitely a major asset to the company! The crew in the front office, Jill, Amber, and Stephanie, has always been extremely friendly at check in time, making the process as fast and efficient as possible. We've also had the pleasure of working with the office manager, Nancy, and the owner, Jim, and speaking with them it's easy to see why the entire staff is so great. Everyone always does all they can to make sure that my family enjoys their stay when they come down. We rented a fantastic rental, Island Blessings, in Carolina Beach while we were building our home.The whole experience from beginning to end, was GREAT! Beth, who helped us from the beginning , could not have been more professional or efficient. She made the whole process easy and painless. The one time we had to call for a maintenance issue, Sea Coast sent the maintainence man right away! Where do I even start? So disappointed with our vacation rental and experience with Sea Coast Rentals. Day one, the slider to the deck wouldn't open. The furniture on the deck was so wobbly we were afraid to use any of it. The dryer made such a loud screeching noise that you couldn't stand to be in the condo while it was running. The garbage disposal didn't work and would back up greasy smelly water into the sink any time the washer was on. The barstools were really wobbly and we were afraid to use them. Day two, the vent cover in the master bedroom was just sitting on the carpet and did not fit the opening at all. I accidentally stepped on this "cover" and FELL THROUGH it INTO THE DUCT! My leg and hand were cut up and bruised pretty badly. So for vacation I got hurt. My husband and I went to the rental place to complain. The young man at the desk put in work orders for repair work, but we really don't know what work was done since nobody ever followed up with us. The dryer was still screeching the day we left. Nobody ever contacted us to say they were sorry that I had gotten hurt or that so much was wrong with the rental even though there were two other ladies in the office who were very clearly listening to our entire conversation. When I called to speak with the supervisor she is conveniently out of the office and the lady I spoke with can't help me. Of course. If anybody knows who to talk to from Coldwell Banker that I could discuss this branch, please share contact information. Steer clear of this place. read more

This was such a nightmare. I agree with the previous reviewer that one star is too much for these people. I had rented from United Beach Vacations in past years with no problems. We even rented the same property we had last year but it had really gone down and not been well maintained. That was the least of our problems. It was a pet friendly property and when we arrived, we all went out and sat on the balcony, including our dog. When he saw another dog walking down the street, he began barking and jumped forward. What we didn't notice was that a slat was missing from the balcony railing. To our horror, the dog fell through to the street--about 12' to the concrete below. We were shocked he survived. He broke a bone in his paw and we took him immediately to the emergency vet where they put him in a cast and we paid $619 to the vet. After this, we had to carry him up and down the stairs every time he went out. I called and told Seacoast/United about the incident and said it could have been a toddler that fell through. That didn't seem to concern them. In fact, when we looked closer at the railing, we saw it had been painted over so they knew about the problem. In addition to this, the bath mats were dirty and sandy and had to be washed. The area rugs were filthy and the rug in the living room constituted a tripping hazard because the edges were rolled up. I asked if Seacoast could at least reimburse the vet bill. They didn't even give us the courtesy of responding to that. I contacted an attorney about small claims court but he said it wouldn't be worth the expense. The dog had to have surgery when we returned home and now walks with a permanent limp. I felt the only thing I could do was warn people about this so they can avoid them. We stayed there the second week in September. I not only will avoid this place but will go to Oak Island next year. read more

In the summer of 2014, I searched online for a condo rental somewhere on the beach in NC. My husband and I wanted to spend a month there to get a feel for the area, and we needed an up-to-date rental that was quiet yet close to shopping and things to do. I happened upon the United Beach Vacations website and spent a lot of time scrolling through all the condos for rent. The website was very helpful in describing with words and photos just what was included. Once I saw a condo that was up our alley, I wrote asking some questions. In no time, Katrina, who is one of the representatives there, replied with all the info we needed to make a decision. From there on out, she was quick to respond to any request. Fast forward to May 2015 and we just completed our month at Kure Beach in one of the condos at Ocean Dunes. It was a fantastic trip, due in large part to the great staff at UBV: we had a small problem with two lights not working and instantly the repairman was there; I needed some help getting connected to the Wi-Fi so the staff in the office was quick to provide what I needed; they had also told us that any appliance or tool we needed that wasn't in the condo, they would get for us. They even collected our mail that we had forwarded! The unit itself was in pristine shape and we could not have been more pleased. If we decide to repeat renting a condo in this area, we would not hesitate to use United Beach Vacations (aka SeaCoast Rentals). They were so nice, so efficient and so professional.
