We love Bed and Breakfasts spots. Our room was beautiful, clean, and immaculate. However, our interactions with the Inn Keeper, Deborah Fry, were not very palatable. We updated the team there consistently as we traveled given some necessary stops and delays, and they were appreciative for the most part, but I was concerned about several snarky comments Ms. Fry made during our stay. As a reminder, it is a privilege and honor for an establishment to have us stay there, and we were on a mini-vacation. Ms. Fry constantly reminded us that we were late. We updated here as to our arrival and arrived for breakfast at 9:10 instead of 9:00. We were told that we were "too late to know where to sit." She also argued us down about the preparation of our breakfast. She stated once to me in a rather disrespectful and uncomfortable manner from my perspective: "You had the sausage. Right, Doctor?" In fact, she prepared incorrectly and confused my order which were were required to provide ahead of time with my wife's. She also half cooked our omelettes. It's a beautiful establishment. We've been visiting SSI for years and plan to purchase property here in future. We feel that Ms. Fry was nervous around us because we were Black and when we arrived I don't believe she expected for us to be Black. It was not a very pleasant experience overall but I would remind the team here adults are not children and schedules are understandable. However, please don't yield snarky comments and make people feel like they are less than just because they are 5-10 minutes behind schedule. We likely won't stay here again.

Gated with code access from street and beach as well as to the bathrooms. (Don't forget your code when you go to the beach). You can bike anywhere from there and Barry's Beach service (unrelated) rents chairs, umbrellas, sail boats, kayaks and very interesting beach bikes on the beach in front of this hotel. A public park/playgrounds, great BBQ and the Crab Trap are all walking distance away. Don't use the Phone number listed out there and assume that that is the main number and all have different numbers. There are at least 3 management companies renting units. In most cases I think all of them let you pick which room/unit you want to stay in. We used Real Escapes Properties and feel they are the best (800-634-1667). We picked 306 from the pictures on the web page and it looked exactly the same when we got there. This unit has a bunk bed and a single in the second bedroom which is great for our 3 kids. No one has to sleep in the pull-out couch. There is a full kitchen in every unit, but look closely because some are not as updated as others. Also has washer/dryer. This makes packing easier. Don't miss the landscaping on the property. The hot tubs are surrounded by palm trees and tropical looking plants that are unbelievably manicured. I love St Simons and find that The Beach Club is a great place to relax.

Lori is an extremely organized wedding planner who kept everything on schedule and did it with a most pleasant and positive demeanor. The venue is large beautiful, and diverse. It can be configured different ways depending on what your vision is. There are no parking issues, no traffic issues and access is very easy being just a few miles off of I-95 or US 17.

The one time I spoke with someone that mentioned a $500 fee, I did ask what that fee included. She told me a man named Jay would call me back. He never did. I eventually just gave up. How is that "excelling in destination weddings..." as the owner stated below. A simple "we are sorry about not calling back" would have been fine, even understandable. But don't lie on Yelp to cover your bee-hind saying you called me on several different occasions. Sad, really.
