I stayed here for one night on a Sunday night. Check in was fast and easy. Biggest issue was the ONE elevator was out of order. First, it is poor planning for a facility this size to only have one elevator. Out of order on a weekend is really bad. I had to climb up to the 3rd floor with my suitcase, computer, etc. No offer of help from the front desk. Second issue is the internet connection. Very very frustrating to try and even check email. It kept going in and out...had to log back in every time. I finally gave up. The room was nice, clean and well equipped with everything I needed. It had a small fridge and a microwave which was nice. Breakfast was decent with lots of choices but they close at 10:00. Nice eating area and it was clean. There is coffee and tea available all the time but the tea choice was very limited. Check out was easy as well. Good location but not in y to be village area where all the shops, pier and restaurants are. read more

We did a mini getaway here and l really loved it. From the moment you arrive, you know you're in place that is tiny but mighty. The staff are so pleasant and welcoming. Our room was super clean. We were impressed with how big and comfortable it was. The beds were a bit high but very firm and comfortable. The temperature was easy to control on the wall. A bit of noise carried into the room on floor one from the hall but nothing too bad. We loved the plantation shutters in our room most. See website for location, reservations and great prices. We stayed at this Hampton Inn this past weekend and it was a pretty nice hotel delivering everything you expect standard at a Hampton Inn. The location is nice, but can be difficult to get into and out of the parking lot due to the amount of traffic coming off the traffic circle. There is plenty to do in walking distance of the hotel such as Redfern Village with restaurants and shops. The staff was very nice here from the receptionist checking us in to the employees we encountered on the property. Due to COVID restrictions the Hampton breakfast isn't what it use to be. Pretty much pre-packed foods that aren't too great; but they did have a hot breakfast option one could get, but required asking for assistance from the lady working who was swamped by other guests at the time. Overall, it was a nice stay and I'd be willing to stay here again. read more

This hotel was amazing. You know how sometimes when you travel you end up at hotels where things are broken, or the wi-fi is down your entire visit? Well, that did NOT happen here but it did at numerous other hotels I stayed in the area. This place was like a dream. I swear I never heard another guest; not in the halls, not above or next to me, nor in the stairs or elevator near my room. That's worth 5 stars alone. The room I had was spacious and very clean. I didn't have to ask the front desk for a thing. When I checked in they gave me bottled water and some information about things on/around SSI. The bed was very comfortable, the TV worked, the shower was great. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The breakfast was decent and pretty good for a continental breakfast. The hotel is located across the street from a Chick-fil-A in case you're looking for other quick breakfast foods. The location is great, it's not far from the causeway. There are other restaurants very close by in the area as well as a pharmacy next door, in case you forget something. Whenever I'm in the area and need a hotel this will be where I'll be looking to book at. My sister lives on SSI and I told her this is the hotel she should suggest to people. read more

I'm giving 5 stars simply because of Mr. Marcus who absolutely rocks the front desk. I've stayed at many hotels and have never experienced such great customer service. He was so kind, patient, and helpful from the initial phone call asking if a room was available, to getting my friend up to the room safely, and even lending us his personal phone charger so my friend could wake up and get to work on time. We stayed here for a wedding nearby. Pros about this place... super clean and nice rooms.... cons the staff is outrageously unprofessional. They walked into our room at 9am and didn't knock first. They announced that they were housekeeping after they already walked in. At around 10am they knocked again. Check out wasn't until 11, but they were very aggressive trying to get us out. We will not be staying here again. So don't stay here unless you enjoy an unnecessary excess of wake up calls. read more

First of all, Yelp is wrong: This is NOT a Hampton Inn & Suites. It's an older Hampton Inn, with few or no suites. So there's little chance for a real upgrade even for elite Hilton Honors members. There is a Hampton Inn & Suites in Brunswick and I think on Jekyll Island. I love the tropical colors -- sea blue, turquoise, greens -- of the interior decor of this Hampton Inn, and the California/Mediterranean exterior of red time and stucco was nice, too. Friendly staff, and the usual Hampton Inn quality. I'd downrate this Hampton Inn on a couple of things, though. One is the entrance and exit: Either you have to literally go through a car wash driveway or else go around and through a small suburban strip center to get to the main entrance. Really kind of odd. Another is the breakfast, which is only fair by even Hampton Inn standards. (I'm still pushing for an upgrade in Hampton Inn's breakfast offerings.) It isn't on the beach and is in a commercial area rather than in a more upscale residential area of this resort island. Overall, I'd rate it satisfactory but not above average for this above-average limited service brand. On the plus side, it is right across the street from a Chick F-lay. read more

We came to get away from the noise of the world and all we got was an air conditioner that was loud as hell screaming at us ever second of the day and night and the neighbors tv through the wall. We had to wear ear plugs !!!! Never again so disappointed!!!! read more

Fairly standard for a Hampton Inn: clean and comfortable rooms, basic breakfast and wifi included in the rate, and a pool and hot tub outside that are nice to use in the warm weather. Tropical colors in the decor make it feel beach-y even though it's a few miles from the beach. Location is in a business district, close to restaurants and stores. One nice touch this hotel does that I wish more would copy is that when we left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door all day, housekeeping left a small plastic bag with fresh towels at our door. We stayed two nights in the Hampton Inn St. Simon's Island. This hotel is in a good location but not easy to get in and out of. Most local attractions such as the Pier and the Beach are pretty close. The hotel was very clean and seemed to have been refurbished recently. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The free breakfast helps to save a few bucks each day. This is very good place to stay in St. Simon's. read more

What a great hotel! We stayed here for one night and were totally pleased with our stay. The rooms are beautiful with lots of extras like a microwave and extra storage and extra seating. The room was spotless the linens were top notch and the decor was lovely. There is a separate sink in the room with a countertop for prepping any foods you may be preparing in the microwave which is a nice feature.The breakfast is over the top! Ready-made Omelets, bacon, potatoes. Not only can you make your own waffle but they had two different flavors of waffle mix as well as toppings like pecans and chocolate chips. Another great feature was their toaster which you simply lay your bread on the conveyor and it toast your bread. The staff was wonderful and accommodating and even though we typically rent a house when we come here this will be the place we stay if we are in between houses. read more

Also, you would think that on a Saturday morning they would have served a better breakfast. Everything looked a whole lot better than it tasted. There are great restaurants nearby. We stayed here only for one night while visiting the beaches. We arrived at 7pm and it was a line and a brief wait but there were fresh baked cookies and the from desk attendant was great so the wait wasn't bad at all. The hotel is very nice and the rooms were even better. Beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was on point and strong. In the parking lot there were three or four parking spots designated for charging vehicles. The breakfast was not so grand it could use a few more items. There was ham mixed in with the eggs and seasoned potatoes for the warm food. There were cold boiled eggs but as a vegetarian I could indulge but for other people who would've wanted a meat choice were not happy and the breakfast was not fulfilling. Hampton Inn provides a clean, comfortable quiet room in St. Simon's commercial district, near the traffic circle, cater-corner from the airport. Bed and bath comfy and worked perfectly. Pool area is quiet considering location, well-kempt and attractive. Property is fresh, convenient and presentable. We were placed in the room next to the ice machine and elevator, but we barely heard any noise. (We checked in too late to snag a more desirable room; note to self: do this at time of reservation in future.) Hampton Inn throws in a so-so, but convenient and time-saving meat, egg, toast, coffee and juice breakfast. Conservative, mostly middle-aged clientele, with a smattering of wedding guests in their late 20s. Use AAA discount if you have it and be ready to show your card. read more

Quite possibly the worst Hampton I have ever stayed in. The AC was horrible. We called for maintenance and they claimed we had a new unit. We were sweating in the middle if the night! Also, the water pressure in the shower was horrible. I have medium length hair and I could not get all the soap out of my hair because it felt that I was being rained on. I had to wash my hair via the tub spout. It was aweful and they did nothing to rectify the situation. For $125+ a night, find yourself a better place to stay! read more

Recently stayed here due to a work assignment for 3 months. Normally from Nothern CA and it was tough being away from home amd my friends and family for so long. The staff here is truly amazing, but especially Judy. She went out of her way to make me feel at home and make my stay a wonderful experience. Cannot express enough my gratitude to her and the staff for bending over backwards for me while I was away from home for so long. The rooms are clean, breakfast is great, the location is fantastic. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good and the rooms have been recently redone. When you look at the hotel and rooms you see the grim and dirt in the rooms especially. Every single cleaning staff person I and my party observed saw them standing around, on their cell phones or just watching tv in the rooms. One morning a house keeper was standing near the lobby bathroom on her phone when we went down to breakfast. When we went upstairs she was still in the same position, playing on her phone. I saw one house keeping staff "clean" the showers. This involved spraying whatever was in an unmarked spray bottle, in excess, while she checked her cell phone in her other hand. You could tell the rooms needed cleaning, but they aren't going to get a good scrubbing from this staff. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

I've stayed at this Hampton Inn on many work trips throughout the years. The rooms are slightly nicer than the average Hampton Inn and the staff is always friendly. The pool area is pretty nice as well. What I really love is the proximity to Red Fern Village and Southern Soul BBQ. Both places, as well as a shopping center with a Winn Dixie grocery store and a number of restaurants, are a very easy walk from the hotel. You can actually cut through to Red Fern Village through the back of the parking lot. The beach is a 5 minute drive or a 10-15 minute bike ride. The pier village is about the same. You won't quite hear the waves crash from the Hampton, but you're near a lot of good places. read more

I recently stayed at this Hampton Inn while on St. Simons for a wedding. It is very conveniently located across the street from a shopping center with a Winn Dixie, Starbucks and several restaurants. You can walk behind the hotel to Redfern Village which has several restaurant options as well as shopping. The hotel was recently remodeled and the rooms show it. Instead of curtains the rooms have shutters. The bathroom has a granite countertop with plenty of room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We took advantage of their breakfast and it was acceptable. The hot options were pre-made mini omelets,biscuits and gravy, and waffles. They were pretty standard for hotel fare. There were also an assortment of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices and more. The attendants in the breakfast area were outstanding. They kept everything filled, cleaned up and made sure we had everything we needed. All the staff was extremely friendly. It was April 1 and one of the housekeepers "got" me in the elevator asking me "What's that by your foot? April Fools!" We were staying for pleasure, but it appeared there were many businesspeople staying as well. I can recommend it for either. read more

We had to check out of our rental house but we weren't quite ready to leave the island, so we stayed one extra night at the Hampton. There are not very many hotels on St. Simons, so the choices were somewhat limited. All in all, we were very happy with our stay. The pool is quiet and convenient and we were able to walk to Southern Soul Barbecue for dinner and it is right next to Red Fern Village. The hotel itself was very clean and had the consistency you expect from the Hampton brand. My only knock is that it is not close to the beach at all. read more

We have now stayed here twice with a total of three nights between both visits. It is in a perfect location to walk to the restaurants at red fern village and outback. It's an easy drive to the beach. The rooms are comfortable and the kids really enjoyed the pool. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Loved the indoor shutters to add to the Coastal Georgia atmosphere. Breakfast was great and kids loved the 4:00 cookies. We will continue to stay here and give this place . read more

The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly, we were down at St. Simons for the UGA/FL game and this was hands down the best place to stay. The staff was forthcoming in all the requests and wanted to makes us feel as comfortable as possible, they were very knowledgeable about events in the area and did not hesitate to point us in the right direction. This review is not for the hotel itself, but the manager Richard. I stay at the hotel frequently (probably 6-8 times over the past year). I have never had any problems until now. Yesterday, my house was broken into and I had to cancel my trip, meet with police, look for lost belongings , etc. needless to say it was a traumatic day. I completely forgot to call this hotel until after the police left at 10 pm at night. (Aka- I did call to cancel, instead of just not showing up) I called and the manager was not in, so I called the next morning. I explained my situation to the manager, offered to send him the police report , etc. I apologized for my last minute cancellation.. I never do this and I know the policy. note - I am a diamond member and not only that I am a loyal customer to this particular hotel. He flat out refused to refund my money saying "he could have sold that room 20 times", "a police report is unnecessary - it wouldn't change anything". After I got upset (like I said- traumatic day) he said he would refund half and quote "just eat the cost of the rest" is that necessary to add? You're a hotel.. You're not "eating the cost" you just have one Unbooked room (mind you- the room I booked was not super expensive at all- it's not like they were losing tons of money) not to mention that comment is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. At this point, I would rather him not give me any money back. It's not that he wouldn't refund me, it was absolutely the way he spoke to me- rude, sarcastic, condescending. I understand this is a business, but as a business you have customers and the way you treat them is very crucial to a successful business. I believe he was unprofessional in his approach and actually managed to make me MORE upset than I already was. I called the Hilton diamond desk and they are actually taking care of it for me. Proof that my situation was not ridiculous- I tried the best I could , and they understand that. This means that Richard is not "eating the cost" and Hilton is actually paying him for my room. Amazing customer service which I am grateful for. I want to know if something happens to me- I am staying somewhere that will WORK with customers in certain situations, talk kindly to them , and be flexible when needed. I would encourage everyone to take your business elsewhere - there are plenty of other gorgeous properties here that are in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants (this property is not). I recommend the Village Inn & Pub which is a great place right in the heart of downtown. read more

This Hampton Inn was probably the best (albeit mid ranged) hotel I have stayed at in a while. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly. The one thing that really impressed me was the breakfast they laid out for the guests. The staff who was stocking the breakfast were a flurry of activity the entire time making sure all of the food offered were stocked and kept orderly. The cleaning staff let you rest in peace instead of like some places where they decide to knock even though the Do Not Disturb hanger is out. Only had one minor hangup with the Manager calling me early one morning with a question about some rooms in our block but it was straightened out without incident. Also, the rooms were fairly affordable for what you got and there is a strip mall full of excellent restaurants directly behind the hotel itself which makes it all that more convenient. Awesome place to stay if you are on the Island. read more
