Absolutely gorgeous inn. We had to come back and share this beautiful place to stay with family and friends. Booked 5 rooms for a double birthday celebration. 5+ stars for customer service. Susie, Vinnay, Katie, Leslie, Adriana and Lilah were so friendly, helpful and just lovely ladies. They made sure our stay was PERFECT!!! They were so patient with us and had no problem answering all our questions. They went out of their way to make my birthday the best! Had champagne, wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting in our gorgeous suite. Thank you! The inn was stunning, clean and had everything you'll need. From binoculars to navarro Chardonnay in every room. Couldn't ask for better amenities. The location? Perfect! We were in the middle of Fort Bragg, the redwoods, the ocean and Mendocino town. Spent a long weekend at Seal Rock Inn and I would highly recommend the spot. Very convenient to the downtown Mendocino area. You can also walk from the inn to the Mendocino Headlands which has great views and a good spot to see whales migrating. Best part is the staff. While you can book online I recommend calling the inn directly. They were great help picking out our room and making recommendations on dining, sightseeing and events that are happening in the area. The staff is super friendly and you have a good choice of breakfast options that change day to day. read more

Stopped by Sea Rock Inn, as I was more or less "scouting" for lodging that I'll need in the area next week. The curb appeal was tremendous, so my wife and I stopped to check it out. We met Leslie and owner Susie, whom both answered all our questions, and even made on-the-fly plans to accommodate me being vegan, and staying overnight with my motorcycle. This place is great, the views are among the best you'll ever see while staying at public lodging, and the rooms / cottages are clean (we received sneak-peeks in a couple of them). Such a lovely BnB in Mendocino. We stayed here for our anniversary and felt so welcome our entire stay. It was still during COVID, so our meals were delivered to our door, but it was delicious nonetheless! We stayed in Cottage #1 because it's the only kid-friendly cottage with a lack of shared walls. The location and view of the Mendocino headlands is hard to beat. Loved the wraparound front deck / veranda. It was made so charming with chairs, table, abalone shell - and in the morning, the Sea Rock Inn coffee mug. The fireplace was lovely. Staff was helpful with bottled water and getting us more coffee. There is no shortage of things to do and places to eat in the area. Logistically, we were always informed when the Tesla charger was available. The Fort Bragg Tesla Supercharger was handy - just a ten-minute drive away (and super close to Noyo Fish Company and Princess Seafood? Yes, please.) Staff ran out and harassed us about parking off the road and across from the hotel. Lied and said the police would tow us. No signs posted, no red curb and Mendocino PD confirmed we were fine to park there. Just be honest and say you don't want anyone parking across the road from your hotel and impacting the view. Oh my gosh this might be the cutest place I've ever stayed in. My boyfriend booked it for our anniversary and when we walked in there was a bottle of wine with a little card and chocolates. The location is amazing..we went hiking on the coast one day and caught the sunset in the evening while sipping on beers in the law chairs. We had Cottage #2, and it was the cutest more quaint little cottage ever! Breakfast was hand delivered to our door/outdoor patio area every morning due to their indoor dining being closed because of COVID. But I loved sitting out on our porch, eating breakfast with the ocean view every morning. Our first night there, they left a complimentary bottle of wine in my room for my birthday. My fiancé and I ordered a cheeseboard, and we drank wine and ate cheese on their lawn overlooking the ocean while watching the sunset. It was amazing! The grounds are kept up so well, and every little inch of the property is beautiful. The staff was also incredibly nice and helpful when needed. Downton is only a quick few minutes drive away. I will definitely be staying here again should I ever return to Mendocino! read more

Absolutely loved my stay here! This is a lovely bed and breakfast with amazing ocean views. My husband and I stayed in Suite 7, and it was perfect. We had direct ocean views from our room and could see the sunset each evening from the front deck (and even from inside our room!). Breakfast was solid, and the baked goods were a standout! I also appreciated that they were on time each morning with breakfast and gave us a call beforehand to ensure we were ready. At other properties I've stayed at in the area, breakfast was either delivered way too early or too late, and delivered without warning. There were also small touches that made a difference. For example, they give you a list of recommended restaurants in the area, binoculars in your room for whale watching, amazing bath robes and daily brownies at the front desk! The brownies are SO good. No joke I probably had 10 in 4 days (oops). Diet starts tomorrow! read more

After years of hearing my parents tell me how beautiful Mendocino is, the wife and I decided to spend Valentines there. After doing our legwork, we decided on the Sea Rock and we were not disappointed!. Not only is the area stunning, but the accommodations are nicer than any place we have stayed before and we have been to some nice places. The personal attention given to us from the little personal greetings to the bottle of wine and delicious local candy assortment was beyond expectation. The fireplaces with the endless supply of wood made those stormy days and nights so damn cozy and romantic. We already made our reservation for next year when we checked out. We fell in love with Sea Rock Inn. This Bed and Breakfast is definitely the place to stay in Mendocino. Aside from their gorgeous garden, you're greeted by Michelle with her warm beautiful smile at the front desk. When we got to our cottage our room was squeaky clean and smelled good....we could tell this place is well cared for. They served freshly cooked delicious breakfast delivered to you every morning by their friendly staff who provides excellent service. This great location is very close to restaurants, shops, market and Chevron gas station. It's also a close drive to Mendocino Botanical Garden, various coastal trails, good size white sand beach by a beautiful bridge, and Glass Beach. Everything is as beautiful as I remember. The suite we stayed in has been remodeling and redecorated. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud. The reason I am giving it 4 stars was because of the breakfast. It used to be buffet style and the food selection was huge and comfortable seating arrangements. It's been two years since we've been and now they are bringing breakfast to you. Not a huge selection the food chosen is subpar some of the fruit seemed aged a little by few days, maybe. It was sad the breakfast was sad versus prior years. Believe it or not the breakfast is a huge deal breaker for us. This was our first time here and we are so happy with our choice. The grounds are beautiful with gorgeous flowers everywhere. We stayed in room #12 which was very large with a living room, a separate bedroom and a nice balcony. We even used the fire place one night. Breakfast is left on your balcony each morning. Where to start??? Customer service? Top notch! This was proven when I made a mistake in the dates of our stay. I had inadvertently booked our room a week earlier than we had planned on going up there. Panicked and thinking the room I had booked would not be available, I called and explained my error. "No problem" I was told and they simply changed my dates, with the same room...no extra charges, no attitude, just polite and sincere willingness to help a customer!!! They stay.......I can say, without question, one of the finest places I've ever had the privilege to stay.....not just in California, but anywhere!!!! The scenery is breathtaking, the place is gorgeous (kudos to the groundskeeper!), and the attention to detail in the rooms is evident. Our room was spotless, the amenities were perfect...we couldn't have asked for anything more. The evening view from our deck........words cannot adequately convey just how beautiful and relaxing the spot was. We looked forward to it each night of our stay. The breakfast. Things are different in these times of Covid. They do have a dining room (which of course has a wide, clean picture window that faces the ocean!) but with Covid, the breakfasts are delivered to your room by employees who were masked and wore gloves. The food was delicious and different each day, the coffee and juice spot on and if we had been able to eat in the dining room, I would have asked for seconds on the walnut/cinnamon bread!!! The only negative......Sea Rock is almost 600 miles away, but upon arrival, it makes the drive worth it. All in all, this one one of the best short vacations we have ever had. We are already planning on our next visit up there next year!!! We had a wonderful stay at Sea Rock Inn to celebrate my wife's birthday. We stayed in room 17 with a full ocean view from the second floor, and we were very happy with our choice! The room furnishings were very comfortable, wood burning stove in the corner, spacious bathroom. Breakfast delivered directly to your room each morning. My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary at Sea Rock Inn and it was a relaxing time. The suite was beautiful and homie. The king sized bed was so comfortable. Most places we have stayed at have had the bed be so uncomfortable and the room overpriced but not at the Sea Rock Inn. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was so delicious as it was made fresh each morning. We were always given a courtesy call before breakfast was delivered to our suite. The fire place was fully stocked and the suite was so clean. The view from suite #12 was breathtaking. The grounds were very well maintained. We didn't drive our Tesla but there were Tesla chargers available on the grounds. There was an ice machine downstairs which was very convenient. Plenty of hiking around the area and local grocery stores close by for any items or food you may want. For our 1st anniversary stay the experience was great as we will be back on our 2nd anniversary. We stayed at Sea Rock Inn a few years ago and it was exceptional. We just completed our first trip out of our home area post COVID lockdown and Sea Rock Inn is still exceptional. They have not lost a step. This time we stayed in Suite 7. Plenty of space, very comfortable bed, large bathroom with counter space (Gilchrist shampoo, cream rinse, bath gel and lotion provided) mini fridge, microwave, basic dishware and utensils, and wood burning fireplace. We enjoyed coffee and adult beverages on our "front porch" overlooking Slaughterhouse Gulch with beautiful views of the headlands. You are welcomed to your room with warm lighting and a small bottle of wine. Our room was very clean and smelled fresh! The only noticeable change to the experience is the breakfast room is still closed, due to COVID concerns and county health mandates. They do a good job of delivering a warm breakfast to your room (which they change daily) including fresh fruit and coffee. They have two delivery times right now and you choose your breakfast time at check in. We will definitely stay here again! It is our go to inn and we will change our trip dates before seeking out different lodging. read more

We loved our stay at Sea Rock Inn! The staff was welcoming and helpful upon our arrival, and they gave us plenty of tips for hikes and restaurants in the area. There was even a small bottle of red wine waiting for us in our cottage, which was such a nice touch! The DVD library in the lobby is a fun idea too (lots of genres to choose from). Breakfast was excellent: You pick your delivery time when you check in, and they give you a quick call when they're about to bring it over. I'm vegetarian and was worried I wouldn't be able to eat breakfast on one of the days that had meat in the main item, but they made note of my dietary restrictions from my online reservation, and gave me a meatless breakfast without me having to ask. It's the little things like that (and the amazing ocean view) that make me want to stay here again. Other little things: Binoculars in the room for bird watching, parking right next to your room, and the close proximity to Mendocino shops/restaurants, hiking trails, and Fort Bragg. read more

We stayed in Suite 12 since it has a Tesla charger, and the place had an amazing view of the ocean from both the bathroom and living room. We ended up getting cheese and bread from in town and had sunset dinners on our porch. Super close to town where we could pick up food and walk around. Very little noise (though you could sometimes hear the cars on the freeway during the day). Comfortable rooms. During COVID, safety protocols were in place. They had brownies every day, and breakfast is delivered straight to your room. Quality of the food was top notch (zucchini egg bites one day, quiche the other), though one day our coffee was a little low (though I'm sure if we had said something, they would bring it up). Netflix on the TV was a great way to unwind after a long day of hiking. Note: bring a blanket - it's right on the water, so even if it's warmer inland, it is pretty windy / cold here. read more
