I went yesterday for lunch specifically craving the mac & cheese and mussels (they were out of mussels, unfortunately), but the mac & cheese was so rich and satisfying that I wasn't even mad about it. I've been here before and tried a bunch of their cocktails ...you really can't go wrong with any of them, but this time I switched it up and got a virgin painkiller mocktail, which was actually great. It's definitely a staple if you live in Bushwick, but I feel like people outside of Brooklyn don't talk about it enough. Came in ready for a seafood-and-steak moment and let's just say the meal had personality. The steak was rubbery. Chewy. The kind of bite that makes you sit up and ask whether the kitchen was testing jaw strength. Not inedible. Just working way harder than it needed to. The shrimp was so-so. It showed up. It participated. It did not offend anybody, but it also did not exactly have the table falling out over itself. Very middle seat on a budget airline. Present. Fine. Forgettable. The wings though. The wings knew why they were there. Crispy. Flavorful. Actually satisfying. The kind of plate that makes you stop talking for a minute because now everybody is focused. Easily the standout. If the steak was chaos and the shrimp was filler, the wings were the only one clocked in and ready to lead. Staff was decent. Pleasant enough. Kept things moving. No major complaints. They did their part and helped the experience stay above water. The vibe is possible. That is the word. Possible. On the right night, with the right crowd, right playlist, and maybe one strong drink, I can see this place feeling very cute. Came here with freinds on a Saturday around 3ish. It was busy but not crowded. We got a seat inside and the took in the sights. The place is open on two sides. Normally I order sea wolf for delivery, but I was in the area and came inside and I had a good time. I shared the oysters with my friend, they were nice and fresh and I liked the cocktail sauce. I also ordered the fried shrimp basket, it was good but if I had been hungrier it wouldn't have been satisfying (good amount of fries but only 6 shrimp). Normally when I order online, I get the clam chowder and it's pretty good, I've ordered multiple times. Our waitress was attentive, and overall the service was decent. Came by for dinner tonight. We usually like coming here in the summer time to enjoy a Pain Killer while dining outside. My husband was craving their chicken sandwich so we stopped in today. He says it's perfectly fried crispy and comes with a sauce that tastes similar to the McDonald's Big Mac sauce! He enjoyed it to say the least. I ended up following his lead and getting a sandwich also.. Filet o fish sandwich! The fish was pretty big, bigger than the bun so I ended up cutting off the sides so it fits the bun better. It was not my favorite but I gave it a try because I usually get their fish and chips which I enjoy. Either way, it didn't go to waste. My sandwich came with the option of fries or Cesar, I opted for the Cesar salad and it was delicious'. Next time I will get it as my meal. The service today was a bit slow - the hostess took our order. I didn't like the first drink I ordered which was the Smoky Stone (I think)... Recently stopped in while in Bushwick. Took advantage of a few happy hr specials. While here I noshed on: Deviled eggs-creamy and deelish. The bacon bits were the perfect topper. Clams-fresh. Nice size for price. There were a few that weren't quite right but, I just moved onto the next. I got 12 during this visit. Oysters- 1.50 happy hr pricing. I got 6. The flavor was good and the oysters were fresh. The raw bar orders came with a good mingonnette sauce, cocktail sauce, lemons, horseradish and hot sauce. Wings- nicely portioned. Fried nicely with an adequate amount of sauce. Sauce was tangy, sweet and sticky. I was disappointed that my order consisted mostly of drum sticks. Brussel sprouts-crispy, fresh and deelish! Loved the size and preparation of the sprouts. I enjoyed the crispy bits in this dish. I also loved the sweet chili Thai sauce on top. Service was a little slow but, it seemed there was only 1 server on duty. Ambiance was chill. The weather was perfect. So you got a good view of passersby's on the street. Sea Wolf didn't disappoint. I was pleased with EVERYTHING!! Visit on a Friday night didn't expect the area to be so busy. It was a busy neighborhood a lot of restaurants and bar. I order the oysters it was delicious with the mini hot sauce and cocktail sauce. Then I order lobster Mac and cheese with a lobster roll. Omg a MUST TRY!! The lobster roll was on a warm soft buttery bread. Pack with the right amount of lobster meat. My lobster Mac and cheese came in a hot pan skillet baked to perfection. Strolled in here on a sunny Sunday and this place did not disappoint. I have yet to come back to see how the Reggaeton party is here but this time around I really was here for the $1.50 oysters they have for happy hour. The oysters tasted fresh and we're neatly shucked and came with a variety of sauces that I deeply appreciated. They were a good size and definitely worth the money. I also tried the frozen rum punch version. They have on the happy hour menu and it was a solid drink with a good buzz. The barbecue wings were also stellar, well-made with not too much sauce. The open area is really beautiful and sun lit. This is definitely a perfect daytime spot for a nice brunch or quick lunch with friends. Came on a Saturday evening during happy hour. The food is fine, nothing mind blowing. We ordered a dozen oysters and an order of wings. HH wings are $9 for 5 pieces...I've had a better HH deal elsewhere, esp given that these wings weren't evenly coated. I ordered their Beyond Burger, which had an overwhelming amount of cheese, but was otherwise cooked nicely! I wish their salad had more to it, it was simply just kale and dressing. Not even tomatoes, onions, or other toppings. This place fell short on staff. We tried to order another round of drinks THREE times, and each time, a server looked directly as us and walked away. We even flagged them down, and they claimed that they had to grab a specific person to put in our order, but we were never tended to. We were looking for a spot late night. For whatever reason, their regular kitchen closes 10-11pm and then it switches over to a much smaller late night menu. Apparently the waiters don't serve you and you have to go up to the bar to order drinks and food too. They only had one type of HH oyster available. We got two dozen ($58) they were fine. This place has a particular vibe . . . kinda like laid back hipster vibe. Opentable says there are no reservations on a Friday night, but you show up and there are only a couple of tables occupied and some bar seats. Service is very laid back. I didn't feel neglected exactly, but it's very informal. I'm not into oysters, but that's a big part of this place. I wish I could have some lobster, but can't do it in the exoskeleton, so I passed on that. I landed on the flat iron steak because the server said she would choose that over the lobster mac n cheese. The steak was cooked appropriately, medium, and the flavor wasn't bad. Salsa verde kinda fell flat. Decent cut of beef--no fat. The fries, or "chips" were great. Hot and beefy and crispy. I also had the deviled eggs, which weren't terrible. Decent seasoning with sriracha, but honestly, some salt and pepper and a little pizazz would have been as good or better. They have an interesting platter called "The Sea Wolf," which is half lobster, a prime Pat La Frieda burger, cheddar, bacon, fries, and salad. I'm still wondering if I should have tried the lobster mac n cheese. They also have seared salmon, fish and chips, spicy shrimp, various types of burritos. They also have a sandwich menu . . . another thing I would be interested in trying would be the hot lobster roll. Drinks aren't bad. I had the plum beach mule, which was probably my favorite. Vodka, lime, plum ginger beer. The margarita was fine. The Raspberry fizz was a little disappointing, pretty plain with whiskey, raspberry reduction lemon extract, mint, and soda. I would come here again to try more dishes, especially as I visit Bushwick often, but the staff spent most of their time congregating and speaking amongst themselves and I usually had to flag my server down. Service was great , my server was very attentive. I was however disappointed in the $37 lobster roll. The bread fell apart which wasn't the biggest issue. The lobster meat was super tough and hard to chew. Who doesn't finish a $40 lobster roll. I mentioned it to the server she said she'd let the chef know and that was all. $108 later I left disappointed and hungry. Usually a go to for me I'm not sure if recommend. I always bring friends and family to seawolfe when theyre visiting because it is reliable and always a vibe. The portions are HUGE OMG and the drinks are yummy. I love the decor and the garage doors that open and let so much sunlight into the resturaunt, they also have outdoor seating when its nice out. If you come for happy hour and you enjoy margaritas and oysters you'll leave happy for sure . I always have a good time here . We were greeted by a greeter/waitress that had an attitude off rip. She seated us in the worst possiible two seat position she could muster. The place was not crowded. I hadnt been to SeaWolf in a couple of years and I decided to drop in on Friday eve excited to have some fresh oysters and a nice lobster roll. We then said ok can we have deviled eggs an appetizer which I had there before and was on the prix fixe menu. She said they only offer that with prix fixe. Ok we readjusted after struggling yo the poorly designed web menu interface. We ordered oysters and wings as appetizers. The wings came out lukewarm leaning towards cold. My husband's salmon came out at a good temp and was tasty. I ordered a hot lobster roll with caesar salad . They gave me a cold lobster roll and Caesar salad with so much dressing it was disgusting to me. I sent back the cold lobster roll which they replaced in a reasonable amount of time. It was meh. Not worth the price tag. And tasted nothing like I recall from a few years back. Mind you the oysters hadn't come we asked several times for them. Finally my husband and I told who seem like one of the managers we no longer wanted them as they should have been first as an appetizer. Lo and behold right at that moment they were miraculously ready. We accepted them even though we no longer wanted them. They also served my husband a can of Modelo with a lime on top and no glass WTF? The only saving grace here is that we weren't charged for the oysters. I don't recommend Seawolf. You can do better at a Cuchifrito or one of the food trucks parked outside. They went down in service, food quality and ambience. Have eaten here twice now! The first time was for dinner, where my friend and I were seated inside and shared the lobster Mac and cheese, oysters and a side of corn. Both were amazing!! The inside is really cool and has a large windowed garage looking door that can open and shut, making for a unique vibe. The second time was during happy hour, as my partner and I saw there was a great deal ($1.50/oyster, $7 house wine). We sat outside and were a little disappointed in the service as the table wasn't cleaned properly from the last party, the beer tap was down, and it took a while for our orders to be taken and to be seated, despite there only being a few others dining there. I will say, the oysters during the happy hour were MASSIVE (see photo). The toppings were served in little droplet bottles which I thought was really cute, but the cocktail sauce was a bit watery and not a large enough portion. I like how open the space is. And there's a good amount of seating available. Good for big and small parties. We got a little bit of everything. I really enjoyed this place. It reminds me a lot of coastal small towns with its vibe and layout. Lots of cute nautical accents everywhere and lots of long wooden tables. They do have an outdoor area as well. I came here for brunch. They usually have a separate menu for dinner and won't let go order from it if you are getting brunch. We were seated immediately and the wait staff was really pleasant and helpful with giving us time and making recommendations for our drinks. We got the blood and sand and the spicy margarita. Both were outstanding and I recommend the former. We tried the fish and chips, the devils mess and the filet of fish. There was a LOT of fish in the fish dishes and almost no fillers at all. Just solid chunks of fish. The prices are super reasonable given the quality and the amount of food we got. I did also get the salmon dip (always get this) and the lobster bisque which didn't come with a lot of lobster but was delicious and creamy. The total bill was about $150 for three people and this much food. We were stuffed and took home boxes as well. I would definitely come back when in the area. and I will say it has great ambience, food and we did enjoy a walk around the area since it is in the middle of all the fun Bushwick graffiti! read more
