Best fried chicken ever. This is an all you can eat buffet - perfect stop to/from the coast. The stew beef rivals the fried chicken - but the chicken still wins. It's in an old house with a ton of character - great atmosphere. It's hard to pick a favorite side - I had pintos, cabbage, fried okra. Everything tastes homemade and not from a can. Don't miss the banana pudding for dessert! Servers come around with refills non-stop. It really makes this a great buffet option. read more

The food is good and hot. Service outstanding with Amy, Michelle and Kim. More than enough food all you can eat inside dining. Obviously the cooks are fantastic but I only know one personally her name is Joy. The owner I don't know her name. She's not too friendly, though at least to me, but I still go there mainly because of her staff and the great Southern Style food. Seaboard is handicap accessible unless cars are blocking the ramp. They are always busy, their buffet is down home cooking, and since they are busy the food is always super fresh and hot. It can be a tight fit, not much room in dining rooms, but it's worth it! read more

I had read a review of this restaurant by a couple that had visited several restaurants and they came to the conclusion that Seaboard Station had the "best fried chicken" of all the restaurants they had visited. So, a few years ago, I visited. They were right! I have visited multiple times since my first visit, and about a year ago I had the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I mean during my whole life, including church homecomings, business get togethers, etc. They consistently have really good fried chicken. It is flavorful, tender and moist. They also have a tasty thin bone-in pork chop. It is a small buffet and they have good steamed cabbage, and they have a good salad bar and I can even "doctor up" their good basic potato salad with sweet onion, hard boiled eggs and bacon bits. I like their carrot cake, but they get that from Sara Lee... but it is good. Their waitresses are friendly and efficient. read more

I'm from out of state and some family members recommended coming here. Happy I did, small and welcoming, Seaboard has a nice variety of hot and tasty food. We got the to-go containers for $10 and could fill up as much as we wanted. Fried chicken is best around!!! The crispy skin is delicious! Don't know what kind of magic they are conjuring up in the back but it is worth it even if you live in surrounding counties to make a trip! love the chocolate pie also! Heard lots about this place and has to try it out. Not easy to find, but worth the effort to find it. Great home cooking, with specials changing daily. Their fried chicken was lightly breaded, seasoned well, and cooked perfectly. Their collard greens were excellent, as was their potatoes and carrots. Located in a restored Victorian house, tucked away on a small side street in the Historic District of Hamlet, you will find a relatively small, but excellent, Southern cooking lunch buffet. There are usually 2 meat choices, one of which is always Fried Chicken, and on our visit today, the other choice was Beef Tips - kind of nice, just 2 choices, but both personal favorites. There is a nice assortment of vegetables to accompany your meat selections - Lima Beans, Corn, Fried Okra, Turnip Greens, Squash Casserole, and Rice for the Beef Tips. You can chose between Corn Bread and Dinner Rolls, and there is a well sized Salad Bar filled with a variety of fresh items, as well as Potato Salad and Macaroni Salad. The Desert Bar offered 7 or 8 choices of pies, cakes, and more. The Fried Chicken was outstanding, moist & tender, well seasoned and full of flavor, with a softer skin than much you encounter, but delicious. The Beef Tips were excellent, as well, flavorful and tender, in a very tasty, somewhat this broth, all of it nice when loaded on a bed of rice. The veggies were not prepared from scratch, but were very well seasoned, and the Squash Casserole was solid. The Greens were too sweet for my taste, and the Corn Bread was a bit dry, though the roll was super, and the Sweet Tea was just right, not so sweet you forgot about dessert. The salad makings were fresh and tasty, the dressing nice. We tried a slice of Pound Cake with Lemon Icing, and some German Chocolate Cake, both very, very good - and all of this for $19. This was well worth the leisurely drive down and back. read more

They have a serve yourself buffet of southern favorites to die for. Their fried chicken has won awards and i can tell you as a fried chicken conosiuer...it's the best ! Seaboard Station is a great hidden gem restaurant in Hamlet. NC. The restaurant is in an old quaint house which is a delightful dining experience. But OMG to the food! If you love good ole southern cooking this place is a definite must try! This is a buffet restaurant that usually offers 2 meats, lots of vegetables and a fantastic salad bar. The day we visited they had fried chicken and stew beef. The chicken was cooked to perfection and was moist and juicy with a crispy crust. The stew beef brought back memories of my grandma's cooking and was so, so good! Be sure and get you some sweet iced tea also as they know how to make it to perfection. You are missing out if you don't pay them a visit. All of the Yelp reviews are excellent! read more

There is not much in Hamlet. This place, though, is well worth stopping. The fried chicken is delectable, the service was friendly without being vague, and the rest of the buffet was fresh and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the ribs, garlic potatoes (no skins!) and squash. The house itself is worth taking a moment to soak in, there aren't many places I've been to with the character Seaboard Station has. Take a few moments to appreciate it. read more

Took a short road trip and we were not disappointed. We were greeted with a warm hello, and our server was very attentive. The chicken as reviewed was very good as well as the vegetables and banana pudding. Our tea glass was never empty and since the outside temperature was over 90 degrees it was especially refreshing. The staff at the seaboard station restaurant in Hamlet NC have always been very friendly and offer great service. It's one of the best Restaurants in Richmond County NC area. They serve Home cooked Southern food on their buffet everyday, and we use it for our business lunches as well as nice place to have a family meal.
