    Shrimp Po Boy
    Samantha A.

Great service, staff were friendly and attentive. Really good, fresh seafood, prepared well. This place was mobbed before we got there and was cleared out of almost all the fresh fish of the day. I tried the salmon pate and got their fish and chips. The salmon pate was decadent and had good flavor and the portion was very generous; came with fresh fruit and toasted pita bread. Fish and chips were crispy, crunchy and tender on the inside, swapped for sweet potato waffle fries and they were great. Tried the Shrimp Po Boy as well, great sauce, loaded with shrimp. Will definitely come back when in town. Got some stuff to go as well.

Sampler platter, Crab and Shrimp Louie

Had a day trip to Whidbey and while exploring stumbled upon Seabolt's and decided to stop for lunch. We were seated right away, although it seems the lunch rush happened shortly after we came. Our waitress was so friendly and quick to put our order in. The sampler platter comes with a piece of fried cod, fried salmon and fried halibut along with fries. All of it was fried perfectly, and I would say my favorite was the halibut. It comes with tartar sauce and we got a side of chipotle lime sauce for an extra 75 cents. My friend got the crab and shrimp Louie, and which came with a lot of crab meat and small shrimps. It comes with thousand island dressing and was a pretty sizable salad, overall pretty good.

Single Halibut Taco in hard shell taco

I stopped in at Seabolts to enjoy a lite lunch. I chose the Single taco with Halibut and the hard-shell corn tortilla packed with seasoned, sautéed halibut, Chili Lime Tartar, salsa, cheddar cheese and cabbage. The taco was erved with tortilla chips. I ate the tortilla chips with the salsa and I think that was the best part of the dish! I'm not saying the taco was bad! It was very delicious and the chili lime tartar was on point! But, that salsa was incredibly flavorful. I am a fan of spicy food and this salsa was not burn you tongue hot, but it did have a bit of heat to it! If you're a fan of spicy food I think you will enjoy this salsa. If you don't like spicy, you might want to avoid it, or try a tiny bit first. I had a tiny bit of confusion with the servers today. I think maybe they were new? I had two different servers bring me different drinks and even tried to serve the wrong dish. But everything worked out and I had a pleasant lunch on the Seabolt's Patio.

    Backyard BBQ Sandwich

We made it in just before the dinner rush. We chose Seabolt's after a nearby hike because they had outdoor seating. Even though they were pretty busy, they were all very kind and friendly. We had the one of their specials - fried halibut sandwich with bacon and Swiss cheese, the backyard bbq sandwich and the gourmet believer burger. All very good! We would definitely eat here again.

Mussels and clams, fish and chips, crab Louie

This was awesome!! I got the mussels and clams but next time I'll just get the mussels. No hate in the clams but the mussels were so tender and flavorful. The broth is so so good. My husband loved his fish and chips. The tartar sauce was perfect!! Kind of cluttered but I loved seeing all the fishing pictures and history in the walls. Wait staff was really friendly too.

Smoked salmon chowder served in bread bowl

Delicious chowder- liked the clam better than the smoked salmon. Captain's platter is a ton of seafood for the money! Good service and nice interior.

If you want seafood and don't want to pay an arm and a leg this is the place! Very enjoyable atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Check them out next time you're in Oak Harbor. And try the chili lime tartar sauce, it's yummy!

Tiny $9 piece of sad cheesecake

I didn't take any pictures of the food. We were hungry and I didn't want to embarrass my daughter who is super touchy in her 15th year. When we went in it was around 4 so not many diners since it was between lunch and dinner. I was very confused by who our waitress even was. Three different girls took care of us and they kept forgetting things. If there are only 3 tables being serviced, I expect everything to go pretty swimmingly. Nope! It was like they were more interested in hanging out with their buddies than to care about remembering what we ordered. But they were nice, I'll give them that. They were out of both oysters and crab which upset me because it was only 4, they hadn't even started their dinner rush. I ordered the shrimp basket with a side of cod. My daughter got shrimp cocktail for an app, the shrimp po'boy, and the raspberry cheesecake for dessert (she was hungry after hiking HAHA). The shrimp cocktail was just okay, and so were our mains. French fries are not homemade and that is a serious lost opportunity. Fried shrimp, whether it's fresh or frozen, just tastes like fried shrimp, so I can't say any good or bad about it. What kind of pissed me off was the cheesecake. What came out was a tiny slice of sad looking cake with soggy, soft crust. This slice was 2" wide at the outer edge. The one picture I got was taken after we got back to our RV and my daughter starting eating it (she liked it so there's that). For $9, I expected a more substantial piece of cheesecake. All in all it wasn't worth what I paid.

Backyard BBQ Wild Sockeye Salmon Sandwich

We ordered the chowder, halibut fish and chips, backyard bbq salmon sandwich, and a side of halibut. The chowder is a must. If you try nothing else .... order the chowder you won't regret it. The fried halibut was perfectly crisp and hearty although bland. Tartar sauce was flavorful. Would have enjoyed a side of homemade cocktail sauce and additional lemons. Recommend requesting bbq sauce as a side to the salmon sandwich. Overall the fish is fresh although portions are smaller. Customer service was chaotic even with 8 staff members behind the counter. Our server forgot our beverage, utensils, and served an item we didn't order (which we pointed out but kept and paid for due to prep time). Would definitely return for the chowder.

Been here a few times in the last few years. Service is always good. If you don't like the smell of seafood don't come here. Food: Fried Popcorn Shrimp Blackened Salmon Salad Fries Overall the food is always good. However, a family member told me she found a parasite in her food. Yikes!!! But it was a cooked dish and not raw fish like poke. I'd still return because the food is food.

Now THIS is a fish sandwich! Fresh fresh fresh. Great staff. Fantastic good. I'll likely eat here all week while in town unless someone can show me something better. I doubt it

If there was a zero star they'd get it for service. The food is ok but not worth the horrible service and wait.

The bartender, Lucy, repeatedly added money to the tip jar without asking, which left me feeling like my money was being taken without my consent. The food has also gone downhill, and the area around the bathrooms consistently smelled like urine. The biggest reason I won't return is the new security guard. Based on my own experience, he previously came into the bar when he didnt work there and frequently made young women uncomfortable by hitting on freshly 21-year-old customers and staring at people from the corner and makeing nasty comments . Now he's working security and using his phone while checking IDs, which did not make me feel comfortable. I know this man and im not letting him take photos of my id for his stash. The atmosphere has completely changed. What used to feel like a neighborhood bar now feels like an over-policed club. Security constantly follows customers around, making it impossible to relax and enjoy yourself. On top of that, the security guard regularly smokes in the entrance, blowing cigarette smoke toward customers as they walk in. It's unprofessional and creates a terrible first impression. From what I personally observed, many of the other employees seemed frustrated with the behavior of these two staff members as well. After more than a decade of being a loyal customer, I'm extremely disappointed in what this place has become. I can't recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better bars that treat their customers with respect.
