It was an interesting market. It was interesting because they had foods from all over and things you normally don't find. I was fascinated with the chorizo wall. They had a big wall full of chorizo from different countries and styles. I have never seen this before. I walked around and found the price a little high. I liked how clean everything was. The meat is nicely displayed and not crowded. I saw chicken hearts, pigs ears. This is the market to get things the other makets don't carry. The staff was friendly. The checkout was smooth. I was so excited to visit this place, and I was not disappointed. They have a large array of Portuguese products. Everything was well lit and organized. I love the bread display and the food court. I love visiting Portugal, so this place fills in the space until I return to Oporto. I have to pay for extra luggage when flying back home, but I have Portuguese produce in my fridge. read more

This rating is only for the bread of which they have many varieties . There is a PEASANT ROLL , which is some of the best bread I have had outside of Europe. That alone is with the drive. Unlike most of my reviews this one will be a tad less descriptive. I'd not heard of Seabra until we discovered one of their stores In the Parkland/Coral Springs area near where we were having lunch. We stopped in to browse and to see what it was, and we wound up buying a couple small things. One of the things my husband got at the other store were a couple tang packets in passion fruit flavor. Passion fruit is called maracuja (maracuya) in many Latin cultures; called parcha in Puerto Rico; and we've even seen it labeled as fruita de passion... Anyhow, it's my husband's favorite "flavor". He liked the packets he bought there and wanted some more. We were driving east on sample when I realized that there was a branch of this store on the northeast corner of Military Trail (Andrews), so we stopped in. He wound up buying a half dozen packets and one other of another flavor (tangerine) to try. It's not really our kind of store as prices are a bit high and yes, there's a distinctive smell by the meat/fish counter. But I guess if he wants more of his passion fruit tang, we will be back... read more

A good local place to do some grocery shopping. That pretty much sums it up. Seabra is a Brazilian supermarket. It's much more than a local store, as it has a pretty good selection on all types of groceries. For Brazilian and Spanish foods, this is a very good place to get your fruits, vegetables, and meats (the butcher and deli areas are very good) without breaking the bank. Here you'll find a very good selection and usually the quality is above par. I was surprised to see the better than average selection in seafood available here. My wife and I also have found a few good cuts of meat and even some deli items such as prosciutto and import cheeses. If you're on a budget then shop around. There are a few other Brazilian shops within a few miles that may have better prices on a few items. However, the variety of selection here is pretty dang good, especially if you live near I-95 and Sample Rd. This is where we shop at least once a week. read more

A friend told me about this supermarket when I was looking for baccala' (dried cod). It's a Brazilian store, but you will also find any kind of Latin food. They have a fish area, full of fishes that I'm going to call "exotic" because I never heard of many of them. We only bought cod from them so far, but some friends of ours always come here specifically for the branzino and mussels. There is also a butcher section, with a nice selection of meats that very knowledgeable and chatty butchers will cut to your liking; and last time their Deli area surprised us: they also have very good imported Italian meats, at better prices than at some Italian stores!! Don't forget to try their bread, apparently freshly baked constantly. There is a lot of parking available, and it is always very busy. read more

I found Seabra by mistake. I was looking for a place where I could get an specific cut of meat and I ended at this sketchy looking plaza, but oh boy I'm glad I did. Seabra is a food market that specializes on Brazilian products, and since I was looking for Picanha (Brazilian steak) I ended up at a best place. The prices at Seabra are legit and the quality on their meats are top notch. Here, you can find anything from Brazilian spices, to produce, desserts and what not. They precut their meat, but you can also ask the butchers for specifics and he will make it happen for you. Hint do not forget to tip your butcher, it is not required but don't be a D and do the right thing. My only complaint about Seabra is that it could be a little bit more clean, that's just me, not that the place is disgusting , but I think it could be a bit cleaner. Always wanted to go into a market that's like nothing you have been in before? Seabra is a Brazilian grocer, and it's also a bit retro in its feeling. I have been in many times and I appreciate the time and space change when you walk through the doors. Many of the other customers are Brazilian, so when you walk around it's another language you here being spoken most of the time. It's not a huge place, it's about the size you may know of markets in the earlier 80's. The produce section has oddities you may not have seen before. Some produce that must be more popular in South America. The meat area is the same way, with cuts and fish I haven't seen in your average grocer. There is that aroma of some grocery spots that smells a bit dank. It's a small negative, but it is a little annoying. The cashier area is interesting. Instead of the usual tread mill style conveyer belt, there's an original thing, it's circular and spins your goods towards the cashier. It's pretty neat, and I don't think I've seen it anywhere else. If your in this part of Pompano and need a few things, or just want to feel transported to Brazil, it's a good place to stop into. read more

I have been using this supermarket for a little bit. I never really needed any help, I went in got what I needed and left. Well, the other day I went in and I needed some assistance and this nice man named George helped me. He was super friendly, efficient and helpful. He knew everything in that store from top to bottom, front to back and more. I was very pleased with his attentiveness, then I went in today and he remembered me, and said hello, asked me how was my day and wished me a good day. I will always go to a place like this that gives you the personal touch, that has seemed to be lost in this world lately. I am glad George is always a smiling face at Seabra. I used to eat here everyday. But the buffet has dropped its quality drastically, the meat is never good anymore and the prices are higher than before. You can find Brazilian groceries, but o definitely don't recommend the buffet. This last time was so terrible that I complained with the lady and she didn't even say sorry about that. read more

I'm not rating the overall business experience but a Feijoada Kit that I got from there. First of all Feijoada is all about pork and Seabra, to sell cheaper, added beef. Seabra is a Brazilian/Portuguese supermarket chain from the Northeast (mostly New Jersey and Massachusetts) - and it's pretty well-stocked. From what I understand, the Seabra stores are nicer in the Northeast - but hopefully this will change if and when Seabra expands its presence locally. I was impressed with the selection of reasonably-priced products that they have, especially from the more elusive Portugal. Portuguese people in Miami usually say that this is the best market to go to in South Florida as the other markets that caters to the community are mostly just Brazilian - and on top of that, they tend to be smaller than this store. They had various and extensive products: Brazilian: + products for BBQ (whole picanha, cheese on sticks for grilling, etc) Brazilian & Portuguese: +breads (corn, garlic, portuguese, tatu breads to name a few) +candies & cookies +cheeses (including the famous one from Serra region in Portugal) +chocolates (including Portugalia brand) +cosmetics and hygiene products +pastries (like pasteis de nata) +sausages (fresh & packaged) Portuguese: +artesanal products +bacalhau (I don't recall seeing a bigger selection elsewhere than here. They even have bacalao tongues) +honey (from Algarve region) +sardines (canned, fresh, & frozen) and other fish (i.e. Dorada, Joaquinzinhos) +wines They had other products from Latin America as well - an interesting assortment of empanadas from Ecuador in the frozen foods section, Venezuelan cachapas and cheeses in the deli section, etc). We got the name of this place while dining in a Portuguese restaurant in Miami. The guy told me they got good Pasteis de Nata here. Sure enough, theirs are not perfect but I'd say the best I've tasted on this continent so far (not just S Florida)! We love the bread here too, v good price. Also a good selection of Portuguese stuff but when we shopped a lot of the sardines were out of stock. There is a large meat and seafood dept, with cuts and varieties you don't see in regular supermarkets, but as some reviewers pointed out, the cleanliness is a bit lacking. The produce is not very bright looking either, and I am not even comparing it to Wholefoods, just regular WD and Publix. They have some interesting selection of cheeses, but as I got a bunch in my fridge already I didn't buy any. In conclusion, we will definitely return for the bakery and the dry goods, but not for the perishables. read more

Seabra now has given me some of the worst customer service experiences I've had in many years of going to the Pompano Beach location. They hire young kids who look like they are being forced to work and hate their lives. They don't greet you when you come in, nor when you are checking out. One of the cashiers one day actually pointed to the screen to show me the total after he was done scanning my groceries, instead of telling me what the total was. A simple: "how are you? Your total is..." would make the shopping experience much more pleasant. read more

I like shopping here more than Publix... As the Publix commercial says "Where shopping is a pleasure" - what they don't say is "at a cost..." Don't get me wrong I still like Publix - I just feel everything there (unless buy one get one) is overpriced. $3.99/lb for Red Peppers? - $.99/lb over here. Though I will say the Publix produce in general looks aesthetically nicer than Seabra (All the red peppers look like they are ready for a commercial vs Seabra's peppers being in non-symmetrical shapes - which is normal). Seafood here is much fresher and larger selection than Publix as well - there is almost always a line so their product turns over very quickly. Meat department is equally as awesome - most don't speak very good English, but they are able to understand what you want fairly easily. They also don't make a fuss if you ask for an unusual cut (ie cutting cross bones 1/4" on Short ribs for Kalbi - Publix won't do this) So I just highlighted the 3 things I love about this place - Produce Section, Meat/Butcher Counter & Seafood counter. The rest of the store kinda just feels blah - aside from their offerings of many items you would never see at a Publix and worth trying out. Some things are better purchased at Publix - example -- Baking materials - flour, cake accessories, etc better off at Publix. Oh oh - if you are in the area before or shortly after Easter - be sure to check out their giant golden foil wrapped chocolate eggs - vary in size from Softball sized to larger than footballs - its a Portuguese/Brazilian thing I guess :-) read more

My three star review is not based on the staff and the cheap, authentic Latin products this market carries, which is great. It's based on everything else about it. Great selection of Portuguese wines and beer! They have tons of Brazilian and Portuguese food items as well-- everything from coffee, cookies, deli meats and cheese, to meat, dairy and poultry-- everything is either Brazilian or Portuguese, for the most part. The store isn't that clean, which makes me wonder what the other two reviewers witnessed when they went there. The last few times that i've been here things were acceptable but nowhere near the standard of cleanliness that you receive at Whole Foods. The meat, fish, and poultry didn't look that fresh either. Or maybe it's a little too "fresh." The fish that they have are whole fishes-- not fillets. So i'm assuming that the guy behind the counter cleans them for you? Regardless the items behind the glass do not look atheistically pleasing. It's all a little too bloody, and needs to be re organized and cleaned up a bit. The plaza where this place is located is very dirty, crowded, and untamed. the shopping carts also need to be updated as they are really dirty, old, and the majority don't run too well. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. Basically everyone who works here is either Brazilian or Portuguese, which is nice and adds to the authenticity of the supermarket. Smiles from everyone and kind words as well. Everyone is extremely humble and kind, I would come back just for the friendly and welcoming service and environment. read more

This supermarket is one of the few real Brazilian / Portuguese theme supermarket in this area, you can find all kinds of items from Brazil , Latin America and Europe, food is always fresh and they run specials every single week, the only reason why I don't give it a 5 star, is because they now have a seating area for breakfast, lunch or snacks in the back area near the bakery, and still have to go to the front of the store to pay to then comeback to seat down and eat your food, wouldn't be just easy to setup a register to pay at the bakery and just seat to eat your food, also they said about 3 months ago that they will be selling coffee drinks at the bakery and still no coffee read more
