This is a wonderful restaurant with good food run by awesome people. My first time here and I am now a fan Tried the dirty hash browns which are hash brown nuggets covered with Japanese curry and sunyside up eggs and oh yum Everything is tasty and home made

I'm giving it 3 stars because I enjoyed my Meal but my boyfriend did not. I orders the curry loco moco. The patty meat was fresh and the curry sauce was good Japanese style sauce. My egg was also nice and runny as I like it. My boyfriend orders the mad chick with fried chicken and egg. The sandwich was so thick that was impossible to bite as a sandwich. It is best served on a plate. He thought it was just mediocre. Nice casual and family friendly atmosphere.

Great choices for a quick breakfast or lunch! They make freshly baked buns which made the burger extra yummy.

I stopped by after the beach and ordered the classic sandwich. The soft scrambled egg was delicious with the aioli. The bread was soft as well. The staff member taking my order was friendly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Stopped in on Sunday to grab lunch here. Their focus is on sandwiches, burgers and salads featuring fresh organic eggs. Here's what we ordered... * Mad Chick - Chicken Sandwich with crispy chicken, over easy egg, pickled cabbage, arugula and garlic aioli on gluten free bun (regularly a brioche bun). Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Excellent crispy chicken sandwich. * The Forager - Power slaw, tomatoes, mushrooms, par boiled egg, pepitas and blood orange vinaigrette. It was ok, not not filling enough for me as a stand alone entree. * Potato Balls - 4 pieces of what seemed like just mash potato croquettes. Expected more cheesy flavor or filling. Ok if that's your thing, but didn't wow me. Plenty of comfortable indoor and patio seating. Lots of matcha and iced tea options but didn't try them. Friendly service. Order at the counter and pickup when called.

I was so excited to see this place open up on 41st since I don't make it downtown that often but I love their breakfast burritos and sandwiches. I was even more excited when I got my order and found that the service and quality have continued in this new space. The burrito was well sized with good, smokey red salsa. The potatoes were perfectly crispy with well cooked bacon for so much crunch. The food was quick and service was friendly. What more could you ask for?

Great to see a new breakfast spot in the nabe. Mad Yolks is famous for their soft scrambled eggs. They do a really nice breakfast burrito, with egg, caramelized onions and home fries. I like how the tortilla has a nice soft texture. It reminds me of Egg Happiness in Dublin. I'm a fan of the Asian fusion spin on classic American breakfast dishes. I tried the matcha latte with mango and was disappointed. The mango tasted frozen and the oat milk was watery, not creamy. I know I'm spoiled cause I get matcha as over the hill a lot. But this could use some improvement.

If there a seemingly long line, don't worry, it moves along. Service is efficient, and friendly as well. The sandwiches are all on a freshly baked bread roll. To me, it's perfect, not too bready, and not too thin. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and meaty. No shrink-flation here. In addition to sandwiches, there are curry moco, and dirty tots (tater tots), and potato balls. All so good. To drink, try the matcha latte (hot or cold). The mango matcha latte looks so fascinating. There are many drinks to explore. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice. The feel of this place is beach, relaxed. People don't tend to stay long, because you eat and enjoy and head on out. This street is good to explore, as there is a nearby Verve coffee, and ice cream shop. Enjoy the neighborhood.

Definitely a prime location. I had already eaten lunch, otherwise I would have tried their food. So I had to at least try this matcha everybody is talking about. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. The place has a great vibe and the employees behind the counter were super nice. I'll definitely come back to try their breakfast and lunch.

Delicious lunch spot! We checked out the new Pleasure Point location with our dog on a Friday at about 1pm. We ordered ahead for pick up. The patio is dog-friendly. Our food was hot and ready when we arrived. We grabbed a couple free water cups, and there is plenty of ketchup and various hot sauces available. I got the "classic" which was amazing. My spouse got the b.a.e., which was also amazing. We had a side of tots to share. The portion was really generous. We didn't even finish the tots. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was really clean and new. A great place for breakfast or lunch.

We got there about 10 am and had a bit of a wait with people continuously arriving so it's clearly popular. You write your name down and request inside or out or first available. It was a bit chilly so we opted for inside. We were seated after about 20 minutes. It's pretty small inside so the addition of the picnic tables outside is a plus. We all ordered different items, sausage and eggs, bacon and eggs and blueberry pancakes. The egg breakfasts came with a side of either toast, a pumpkin muffin or a cinnamon roll. We ordered a muffin and a roll. The food arrived fairly quickly which was good because after a 2 hour drive we were ready to grub. The egg breakfasts were pretty average in taste and portion. The blueberry pancakes however were good a good size and came with 3. I did think the pumpkin muffin was fire and my bf said the cinnamon roll was excellent so maybe it's their baked goods that are part of what makes this place so popular? I didn't think the amount of food we got was that much of a value as it was a $60 breakfast. Other downsides for me was the parking situation which is common in SC. We found a spot about 2 blocks away. Also, the bathroom is outside and in dire need of a makeover. Lastly, they don't take cards. It's cash or check only. WTH? I haven't seen a restaurant take checks since I was a kid so that's been a minute, lol. Overall I can't really see myself returning other than to get the pumpkin muffin or cinnamon roll. Maybe I just need to try something different.

A restaurant dedicated to The Cheese. Cool…read more I moved from Santa Clara to Santa Cruz in 1972 and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I bought my first website from the O'Neill dive shop at the Harbor. Learned to surf at Cowells Beach, wearing O'Neill Seal Suits and Super Suits and Animal Skins, chasing Jack O'Neill around in his balloon with Mad Mike driving. Timmy O'Neill pushed me out of a dingy in the harbor channel once but I've forgiven him. They called Jack "The Cheese" but apparently I've been gone a while because I wasn't aware there was an entire restaurant, bar and lounge dedicated to The Cheese. Went there on a Thursday night in June and didn't have enough quarters to pay the parking meters on that uphill. Got lucky and found a parking space at Cowell's and used the change machine to get $5 in quarters, which is what it cost to park for a couple hours. Walked past a mural dedicated to several decades of Jack O'Neill going back to the 1950s: wetsuits, boats, hot air balloons, smiling girls. The air smelled like stale fish and salt. Inside was a clean, well-lighted place somewhere between funky and luxury .But closer to luxury. They've done a nice job with this place. The prices are reasonable in a city and a state and a time where prices can be unreasonable. Sat at a table up against the window, with a view over Cowells and the wharf and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the lights of all the fishing boats in the bay I ordered the loaded fries with avocado, which is kind of like french fry nachos. And they were good. Lots of Cheese. It's a smart idea to dedicate an entire restaurant to The Cheese, as this place is over the dirt where the first O'Neill Surf Shop was in Santa Cruz was way back when starting around 1959 when Jack moved his business and his family down to Santa Cruz and was perfectly positioned for the surf boom lit by the movie Gidget that exploded into the Beach Boys and Frankie and Annette and everybody went surfing. Only glitch was when I asked the bartender for the bathroom code and he looked at me askance and wouldn't give it up. He said it was for hotel guests only. Aren't food establishments required to provide bathrooms to customers? If I had any friends, I would take them to the Jack O'Neill Restaurant and Lounge. It's got atmosphere. P.S I've interviewed around a dozen white shark attack victims. I get their stories and tell them: "You had a rough day. I'll see if I can get you a new wetsuit. Look at the O'Neill catalogue and tell me what you want and I'll call Pat O'Neill." And Pat always comes through with quality neoprene, so maybe a restaurant for him some day?
