The "Millennial Burger Joint" of breakfast restaurants. 15 dollars for lukewarm scrambled eggs shouldn't be legal. This morning, I ventured to try the breakfast burrito. It came at room temp, soggy, and tasting mainly of tomato. On inspection, the "pico de gallo" is just thumbnail sized chunks of chopped up tomatoes. Foul. Here's what we ordered... * Mad Chick - Chicken Sandwich with crispy chicken, over easy egg, pickled cabbage, arugula and garlic aioli on gluten free bun (regularly a brioche bun). Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Excellent crispy chicken sandwich. * The Forager - Power slaw, tomatoes, mushrooms, par boiled egg, pepitas and blood orange vinaigrette. It was ok, not not filling enough for me as a stand alone entree. * Potato Balls - 4 pieces of what seemed like just mash potato croquettes. Expected more cheesy flavor or filling. Ok if that's your thing, but didn't wow me. Plenty of comfortable indoor and patio seating. Lots of matcha and iced tea options but didn't try them. Friendly service. Great new spot in Santa Cruz to grab breakfast! I love their sunrise matcha with fresh squeezed orange juice! Their breakfast burritos are good, but a bit inconsistent. The first one I had was perfect but the second one was a bit too egg-heavy for my liking. However, the flavor is always good, the ingredients are fresh, and the salsa is amazing! I have been here a few times and have always been satisfied. I have gotten the breakfast burger and the spam sandwich. Both with fries. I like the food and the place is quirky and better than the previous occupant and adds a different option to the 41st strip. A little pricey but sadly it is Santa Cruz and that is a theme. I was so excited to see this place open up on 41st since I don't make it downtown that often but I love their breakfast burritos and sandwiches. I was even more excited when I got my order and found that the service and quality have continued in this new space. The burrito was well sized with good, smokey red salsa. Great to see a new breakfast spot in the nabe. Mad Yolks is famous for their soft scrambled eggs. They do a really nice breakfast burrito, with egg, caramelized onions and home fries. I like how the tortilla has a nice soft texture. It reminds me of Egg Happiness in Dublin. I'm a fan of the Asian fusion spin on classic American breakfast dishes. I tried the matcha latte with mango and was disappointed. The mango tasted frozen and the oat milk was watery, not creamy. I know I'm spoiled cause I get matcha as over the hill a lot. If there a seemingly long line, don't worry, it moves along. Service is efficient, and friendly as well. The sandwiches are all on a freshly baked bread roll. To me, it's perfect, not too bready, and not too thin. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and meaty. No shrink-flation here. In addition to sandwiches, there are curry moco, and dirty tots (tater tots), and potato balls. All so good. To drink, try the matcha latte (hot or cold). The mango matcha latte looks so fascinating. There are many drinks to explore. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice. The feel of this place is beach, relaxed. People don't tend to stay long, because you eat and enjoy and head on out. Delicious lunch spot! We checked out the new Pleasure Point location with our dog on a Friday at about 1pm. We ordered ahead for pick up. The patio is dog-friendly. Our food was hot and ready when we arrived. We grabbed a couple free water cups, and there is plenty of ketchup and various hot sauces available. I got the "classic" which was amazing. My spouse got the b.a.e., which was also amazing. We had a side of tots to share. The portion was really generous. We didn't even finish the tots. We arrived around 10:45 AM, on a late Wednesday morning, and the service was terrible. There was not one place to sit so we stood w our food trying to eat until we could literally bum rush a table. My husband's most popular egg sandwich on the menu came with an egg that was overcooked--rubbery--and the rest of the sandwich was freezing cold. I ordered the French toast, and it might as well have come straight from the freezer; they drowned it in milk and ice cold egg, I couldn't even choke it down. How do you mess up an iced latte? Why don't they just call it iced milk? Worst latte I've ever had. There are plenty of other places that are much better to eat in the area. Don't waste your time or hard earned money here. The food is great it's the same at every location. We've never had any issues or complaints but today the young lady taking our order just made us feel unwelcome and came off rude. The customer service wasn't there. We brought the issue to a manager and hopefully it gets addressed. In a competitive market where I think customer service is crucial this can't happen. I've been thinking the original Santa Cruz location in DT. That experience was really busy line out the door on top of that it was on the weekend. Lots of UCSC college students eat here. This newer location not so much. Service is very friendly and they noticeably work for tips and I noticed a plastic cup full of various bills denominations. I ordered the curry moco. It looks good in the pics but it was mostly I'd say 70% rice. The one egg was runny but I didn't like the curry taste. The burger patty could've been more tastier in quality and it was real hard to cut it with a wooden weak fork and knife. There are no spoons I can't eat rice with a fork it's cumbersome. The juices are not even have a wow factor and they are a couple dollars overpriced. I get it it a a tourist beach town l. The weirdest thing is that they charge for the use of disposable cups which seems like a conflict of interest . You're paying extra to do the right thing? Junk fee at its best. Next time I will stick with the breakfast sandwiches and burritos. Location and parking are excellent and couldn't be more perfect. Incredible customer service, friendly staff. Prompt and clean. Got the breakfast burrito and it had a lot of avocado, bacon, and the right combination of eggs and potato and pico de gallo. The burger comes with an over easy egg and the burrito came with mad yolks salsa. Maybe this is a hot take, but you should not be offering matcha if you aren't going to invest in quality matcha powder. There is no amount of strawberry or mango puree that can cover the flavor of poor quality matcha. And the color... less than ideal. The burger was okay, but the egg was not over easy. The burrito was 70% scrambled eggs and did not have any avocado despite being advertised as having avocado. I did appreciate the ability to swap the bacon for mushrooms, but I really can't say the burrito was anything special. And the salsa didn't help, thank goodness for the array of hot sauces they provide. The menu looks really appetizing so maybe this place is worth a revisit to try other things, but I cannot recommend anything I got. read more

Very yummy! I had the b.a.e sandwich on a gluten free bun and it was soo flavorful and delicious and the gluten free bun is so soft and tastes great! My partner and I shared the dirty tots with the curry on the side and they were also very yummy, I particularly enjoyed the curry. My partner got the mad chick sandwich and said it was delicious as well, he said the chicken was perfectly flavorful. The store is pretty busy and seating fills up quick but there's plenty of seating space outside and around the shop so it's not an issue.
