I had a wonderful party of 70 event at the Seacliff Inn! Ken, the Chef, did an outstanding job of preparing fabulous Filipino Food. Despite requesting housekeeping service the next day, we returned late from our family wedding and found they never came to our room. No towels, coffee, etc. Very very loud patrons next to us both nights who were never addressed despite obviously loud enough for many to hear. Tried to speak with the manager this morning and he was unavailable and our name/info not taken for follow up. We had several rooms for the wedding, sad. We've been Hilton Honor members for years and this is not acceptable. Nice ambience despite an older property with paper thin walls. read more

Stayed here for a little weekend getaway and was pretty excited about the amenities. The place is massive but parking was a mess, we really thought people had been drinking and driving when they parked in the crowded parking lot. The rooms are NOT sound proof so you can hear the family with screaming children banging around in the rooms and sprinting up and down the halls. Bed wasn't the most comfortable but they had a nice bathroom/shower. For almost $300 it really wasn't worth it. read more

I have stayed here seven times. The town is very cute. Lots of shopping nursery nearby, grocery store nearby, toy store store nearby, pizza place , ice cream did I mention shopping. There is hiking close by, a Buddhist retreat, and a state beach. All within 10 minutes of the hotel. The on-site restaurant has good food and has the kids menu. The lobby restaurant bar and rooms have all been renovated in the last couple of years. Each time has been comfortable and close to the pool. We always request a room on the first floor with the garden view. That way we can walk straight out to the pool and hot tub you can get drinks from the bar to go in plastic cups so you can hang out by the pool and enjoy yourself. There was one occasion where the people next-door were too loud late. I called the front desk they dealt with the neighbors I had to do it twice, but hey, you're in Santa Cruz so some people come out to party some people come out to chill with the family. I will be back. It's close to everything and a great value. On the weekends there's live music and there's a beautiful Koi pond with giant Koi. read more

Never say never because my daughter being at UC Santa Cruz means coming up as often as I can, being a dog mom also means needing a dog friendly hotel. I don't know if the SeaCliff was always dog friendly but I was pretty excited to find a place that took my pooch. I had an extremely seamless check in, with a very friendly and smiling human, who actually seemed to love her job! Our room was spotless, linens were in place, coffee for the morning. And the bed was very comfy. No noise, except for some random doing karaoke on their patio at 10:20?!, called the front desk and they took care of it within 15 minutes. It was a Monday night so that's why I was the Debbie Downer on the karaoke, because the guy was actually good and honestly the way the world is going bring on the impromptu hotel patio karaoke!! So giving the SeaCliff an updated 5 star review. If I could add one suggestion, other hotels in the area, with a comparable rate, do provide an included breakfast. This property prior to being acquired by Hilton did provide that, so maybe Hilton corporate might reconsider, especially given that the hotel reviews are pretty good awful. Anyways... just a thought. But regardless the pooch and I will return. Gayles is our favorite breakfast spot anyways! read more

Please do not stay here-- My parents booked a room for two days this past weekend, the first day at the hotel went fine (besides the heater being broken and their room only blowing cold air). Yesterday evening they got back to the hotel and for some reason the key for the room was no longer working. They went to the front desk where they were accused of not paying a deposit for the room and were told until they paid (again) they would not be let in. Their stuff was still inside mind you so they were holding it illegally. I want to know how someone can have a parking pass (that you have to pay for) and a key to the room and somehow be accused they never paid. It being late and my dad being done arguing (he's almost 70 and can't walk well) he paid for the deposit again and called his card as soon as he got back into the room and the card caught that they did charge him twice. Today they received charges for the items they have in the room (waters) and being told they drank them all. When I have a video that I told my mom to take of the room showing the garbage can of empty drink bottles that are different brands that they brought from home (my dad is diabetic and needs extra drinks and snacks so they pack from home) attaching the picture The front desk lady is a joke, let me just say again. Infuriating waste of time. Impossible to talk to anyone. I am trying to book a room as part of a large group and just need to talk to someone in the hotel that I want to stay at. The ONLY number that is listed anywhere for this place is Hilton's main number in India and you have to listen to a 20-minutes sales pitch and give them ALL of your contact info before they will even pretend to help you with anything else. Sevys ( formerly Sevarino's restaurant) is the only bright spot on this property. The restaurant food, bar, servers-all Excellent. They deserve five stars. The bad news.... Now for the hotel itself: a former Best Western Hotel, one would think that when Hilton purchased it, Hilton would remodel, upgrade the rooms. Outlets not working in your room, how about carpets smelling like pet urine, pet food being found on the carpet from previous guests and sand in the hot tub along with the pool having an algae tint to it- get the picture? Hilton buys the property and jacks up the room rates. Now you've got an overpriced worn, old hotel with terrible housekeeping and overall terrible service. Room service? Good luck getting someone to answer the phone. You want housekeeping? Good luck they may or may not show up and freshen up your room if you requested it. During the last two stays, the hot tub was full to the brim (7-10 people) throughout the evenings. $15 for parking. I just noticed the ratings for the property after having just checked out of a 2-day weekend there. What's amusing is the their website which leads you to believe this is a stylish, serviceable boutiquey property. It's everything from that. We checked in and noticed only two towels in the room. Asked for more and didn't receive. A Standard King with zero amenities, except a coffee maker that is as cheap as it gets and missing the coffee product. An unswept patio facing the parking lot which was fine. After an evening out we came back to loud music at the restaurant heard in the room. In the morning we were greeted with the only actual amenities (soap) offered in the room: it's 3 100% empty containers of soap and shampoo and conditioner hanging in the shower - all empty. What a disgrace! We complained to the desk who agreed there should be more than two towels and product in the room. Even the lotion was 90% empty. We went to the pool and Kanyaa texted "hey how was your stay?" I asked her to confirm extra towels in the room and to fill the products. When we went to the pool there were no towels. Kanyaa was working the desk. I watched her checkin a family before me. She rifled off a diatribe of compliance based dialogue about parking charges and dining and pool all very loud and abrasive sounding with zero personality and zero eye contact and quite honestly zero hospitality. She told me she'd deliver more towels and send to the pool but argued that two towels for a double occupancy was the standard. She also said she'd deliver coffee as the room was missing coffee product as well. Aside from not having supervision on property or clearly in housekeeping, apparently no one has looked at the pool or jacuzzi. Both are desperate for a drain and power wash as the walls all the way around are solid green from algae. A maintenance person was out there who delivered 6 towels which were quickly taken. He seemed dismayed at the foot of foam coming off the jacuzzi. It's called being dirty and overly shocked. This property isn't being mis-managed. It's just "missing management". It's a great example of an owner who doesn't care, not on sight and cutting corners. It's also why I went from Hilton Diamond last year to Gold this year to Bon Voyage next year. It's a motel with a restaurant that charges $10.00 for parking in a massive lot they have no right to be charging for either. Won't be back or will ever be staying at a Tapestry again. read more

We stayed 2 nights. Our room was dirty and did not have any bath towels and unfortunately we didn't notice until we decided to shower at midnight. We called the front desk and towels were delivered shortly after. The shower was extremely dirty too and had hair all over the walls. The bathroom floor was dirty with tons of hair and dead bugs all over. We kept our shoes on the entire time and were not able to relax. We were there for a wedding and the floor length mirror was on a wall with a queen bed pushed up against it so I couldn't use it. Very disappointing for what we paid for the room. On top of the already high cost they also charge $15 a night for parking. Will never stay here again and we regret picking this hotel out of all of the other options in the area. Other guests, at the wedding, stayed at other hotels and were extremely happy and their hotel was cheaper and even included breakfast. Our room did have a blow dryer, iron, mini fridge, a dirty coffee maker (that we were too grossed out to use) but it did NOT have a microwave and ironing boards were only available upon request. We did not sleep well at all as the walls are very thin and we could clearly hear the people around us talk, sneeze, and cough all night long. Deserves ZERO stars!! One more thing I should mention is that when we checked into our total was about $50 more than we were quoted online. read more

I thought it was nice. The Front Desk personnel were very friendly and courteous, and offered bottled waters, which was a big plus. The King bed was very nice, and it had coils (Hilton Bed included). I fiercely hate all-foam beds. The toilet-shower areas had actual doors as opposed to those dreadful barn doors that Pinterest tells you to put everywhere. It had a great room service option as well, and for those that are not used to American hotels - you run the fan all night - that's how you keep it silent. Hello people. The location is perfect as there's a Safeway-Rite Aid Shopping Center across the street, and you're within walking distance of the Sea Cliff shore and a free visitor center. Then, you have a few local restaurants, a bakery, pet store (Pet & Feed Store) and a fun plant nursery all within a few blocks as well. I liked having a bath tub-shower combo. The flat gym showers are always a mess in the bathroom. A Tub is a lot less messy, and if you want to take a bath or bathe your kids you have the option to. The Cons: - I don't travel that much, but I miss the metal covered ceramic plates instead of to-go boxes. - It had streaming options on the TV - but you had to log into them. I would be fine with Live TV, a tour channel, and an order-a-movie channel. - I didn't like the suspicious white RFI-emitting box next to the TV; the last thing guests need is extra radiation. - The phone in the room did not work, and I wish there was a way to find out that the restaurant could serve the room without calling Sevy's to ask for room service. - The shower head while square-ish was limited in pressure - but for the time being it was fine. Improvements: - Replace the small hand soap in the sink area with a pump soap as the soap bar was slimy way too soon and multiple people used it. Have a towel shelf and towel laundry deposit in the hallway - or near the ice machines. - A Microwave would be nice. - Mini Martinelli's bottles in the room as Martinelli's is nearby - A Travel Magazine - or guide to downtown so visitors know there is more than just the Boardwalk and UCSC to visit - there's an Aquarium and natural parks worth checking out as well. - Have the option for room slippers and robes - especially for the pool area. - Include Max (HBO) (no membership required) with the room stay - As mentioned - a working room phone - Digital or non-digital clock (some of us don't sleep with their phones next to them despite how commercials want you to). - Improved firmness on bed - Serta would be nice. - Ghirardelli mint chocolates or See's candies would be nice I would stay there again. read more

This hotel was very cute & boutiquey. There are several buildings on the campus so each floor has less than 10 rooms. Very quiet. Our room was on a second floor and had a patio and overlooked a nice grass area. There is a pool and jacuzzi on site. We ate at the restaurant on-site Sevys for dinner & breakfast. We received a 30$ F&B credit through Hilton Honors. The food was good, I'd recommend dinner over breakfast. Great wine selection. The hotel is also pet-friendly. Plenty of parking too. I've stayed at this hotel more than a dozen times before. The hotel is nicely remodeled and is a facelift for sure. That's what gets the 2stars! Otherwise it would be one. The negatives are charging now for parking, $10, for making up the upgraded rooms I assume? The housekeeping cleaning early in the am in and out with doors shutting, loud and no consciousness for guests sleeping. Then No exceptions to a late check out with arriving at midnight and no later than 11:30am. Paying almost $200 for crappy service. You won't see me coming back. read more

ZERO STARTS!! I would give this place zero starts if possible!! My partner and I stayed here for a friend's wedding back in January.Fist thing we were taken back by the fact that you have pay for parking!! Second there were no essential amenities such a toilet paper, soap and shampoo! Third we were charged a crazy fee because the shower tub in our room would not drain and since I had color dye it stain the tub. Before we check out, we had talked to the front desk about it and they told it was fine just to fine a $500 charged a week later. Customer services was not helpful at all. This hotel has been sold to a large merger and acquisitions chain. Unfortunately, the once reputation for quality service and great food at Severino's has been tarnished with the poor decisions by upper management. Long term quality employees have either been released or have left due to the merger. What once was a friendly place has now turned into a shadow of its former self. I suggest you look at the slew of recent Yelp reviews. The booking industry hooks you in at a low rate then without notification, increase the nightly rate for Friday and Saturday to triple the fees without notice or discussion. When booking confirm dates and daily rate. The General Manager, Gatlynn Hicks is a nightmare to encounter and does not care about customer service, but just the bottom line and meeting quotas. Do not use third party booking services, go directly to another hotel that offers better service and honest rates. If you call the location direct they will tell you they are completely booked so they can sell rooms at triple rates to unsuspecting weekend travelers. read more

Very very very disappointing. Place is just a basic refurbished motel. Walls are paper thin. Housekeeping plays loud music while they are cleaning rooms at 9am. Door are heavy and slam loudly when guests close them. Dirty walls in the room, water pressure awful. I'm disgusted by how much we paid to stay here. Never again. read more

I've stayed at this property three times for which I give the stays an average three stars. This coming weekend will be my fourth for a family gathering and big surprise birthday celebration. Per my recommendation, my two brothers/ their wives will also occupy two other rooms, as will an old family friend in a fourth room. They all are flying from the East Coast and will stay two to three nights, each. After reading the reviews, I'm concerned I've made a grave mistake but staying here and recommending it to others. I work in the Hotel industry and fully understand the difficulty operations staff experiences, not only from securing and properly training dedicated [happy] staff, but also because the physical asset often needs upgrades and the hotel manager cannot control capital expenditures. Not to mention the occasional loud guest staying next store or upstairs. I will give this property one more shot. It is extremely convenient to a family member's home. After staying at the Best Western Seacliff Inn for over 27 year, Hilton bought in 2020 apparently. reservation was made 3 weeks in advance. Arrived at 2.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Room wasn't available until 4:00pm. Claire said it wasn't ready yet. Not busy at all. Remodel was contemporary. Bed was very uncomfortable. Hard like a Cardboard Box with a sheet of plywood on top. Toilet seat very uncomfortable. Toilet paper dispenser in the way of your knees and I'm only 5'10". Making it worse. No more Complimentary Breakfast Buffet for you and your kids sir. Not even complimentary coffee. Seems like they don't prefer families staying there anymore. But they do allow dogs now. Maybe that's why my wife started coughing and sneezing as soon as we finally got checked into our room. Welcome to the New Corporate America friend. We felt spoiled staying here! The grounds were beautiful with a large variety of different plants, flowers, cactus and the hummingbirds feeding off them. The rooms were very clean and lovely! The sheets, pillows and mattress were perfect. And the Adirondack chairs were super comfy on our semi private patio. The towels were substantial and soft. And to top off our visit was breakfast with Carson as our server! Such a nice young man that was attentive, engaging and did a fabulous job. The food was quit nice as well. We had an omelet and the grilled breakfast sandwich topped off with a good robust coffee. read more

The Hilton brand has turned into an overpriced, no frills place to hook up for an unromantic afternoon. Better park on the street or you're charged $10 per night. Need housekeeping? You have to request it? Need coffee or clean towels? You have to ask. There is a sign on the mirror but check in could be courteous enough to warn you upon arrival. Oh and don't even think about taking the little shampoo etc. or they will charge your room $69. So what will we have to do next time? I'm guessing bring our own bed. Who doesn't want to stay close to the beach during the labor day weekend? So, i booked a week in advance for a 2 day stay from Saturday to Monday. The location is perfect; close to the beach and plenty of activities. The service was horrible! I booked through my Hilton Honors account where you would think the customer service would be exceptional. Unfortunately, I arrived at the front desk and the gentlemen was nice, probably overwhelmed because he was the only one checking everyone in. There was a large wedding party also checking in too. He was quick, still cordial, but the service he provided to the customers was not consistent. Some got water bottles, some provided a map for directions to their room, some informed of what they were going to be charged. Me, nope, didn't receive any of that. Room service, none existent. We arrived to a room that had no iron/board and no microwave. We had to request it. There was only one toilet paper role, and that was on the handle. We requested additional as well as towels. 5 hours later, we had to remind them of the request. TV in the room was on a constant glitch. That never cleared up. Thank God we had plans! We decided to have dinner at their restaurant, Sevy's. Cute place with a coy pond, but the service was also horrible. The two men working served as if it was a packed house. There were about three tables to serve. Our party was four, seated quickly, order taken ten minutes after, but we had to wait 45 min for a personal pizza, the food was not hot, and don't ask for anything because no matter who we asked we had to remind them and/or ask 2x. Oh, and the bill? We asked for it and it took another 45 minutes. I used my Hilton Honor points to book our stay. Will I go again? Nope, I will try a different place next time. read more

Yes, yes and Yes! We ended up here after a hotel debacle in Santa Cruz. And I think we scored. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The property itself was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the fish in the pond in the middle of the complex. The front desk people and restaurant staff were very very helpful. We also got breakfast for an extra $20 and I must say it was quite delicious. We will definitely be back here and are looking forward to it. read more

My family and I came into town for a get away. The property was beautiful and the check in staff friendly. The days we stayed there was a wrestling team staying in the same building as us. They were all so loud yelling in the hallways all day and night. Making a ton of noise outside our room. We could hear the upstairs room shower every time they turned it on and anytime they flushed the toilet. The walls are so thin it's crazy. We did enjoy the restaurant and food was great. We were. It s me to use the spa as much cause all the wrestling kid were taking it up most of the time. I would recommend this place when there is not an athletics team staying there cause of all the kids. read more

Had an upstairs room, so getting my excessive luggage up with no elevator was not the best, but I overpack. Grounds are beautiful! Breakfast in the restaurant is amazing! Hotel is conveniently located close to highway, but area is so calm and tranquil. Short distance to Santa Cruz. Definitely not a fan of a parking charge for an open lot! Although time didn't allow for bike rentals, love that they are available. Will be back to enjoy them! I have stayed at this hotel many times and it was always so nice. It is terrible now!! 1) shower was dirty. Bottom of shower was dirty, soap shelf had soap stuck to it, faucets were spotted like they hadn't been cleaned. 2). Light by side of bed didn't work. 3). They now charge $10 a night to park. 4). They used to offer a free breakfast, now nothing. 5). They used to give you a drink ticket. I wouldn't recommend this hotel! Find a nicer one! read more

Service is not good, housekeeping is on request the night before, room were not clean, had a pullout bed in our suite for the kids with no sheets and took over a few hours to get them (was not allowed to get them at the front desk or housekeeping station), one roll of TP, empty Kleenex box, one garbage, and basically this place sucks. Would never stay here. Service was also pretty rude. Housekeepers we're very nice but got a feeling that they can't keep good workers and they don't have enough housekeepers. read more

OVERPRICED and UNDERDELIVERED We stayed here for a wonderful wedding in the area that we would not have missed. Although the property is lovely, there was a HUGE discrepancy between the price we paid for our mandatory 2 night stay ($1000+) and the experience of this 3 star rated hotel. There is no automatic refresh of the room--you can request that they come in and make the bed and empty the trash. There were two cardboard cups and 2 servings of coffee in the room. We had to request more coffee for our second morning and since they did not bring or provide a second set of paper cups, we dug them out of the trash and used them again. Also no additional creamer or sugar provided with our coffee for the second day. Hilton, consider reusable ceramic coffee cups, refreshed daily, when you are charging $450+ for your rooms. We had an up charge for a garden view and our patio doors were opacified by something in the windows and permanent stains on the glass (see picture). No breakfast! No coffee in the lobby! No room freshening (without asking)! No free parking (yes, had to pay for parking)! 2 day minimum with one day of coffee and paper cups! The thing that really made this stand out to us is that when using google maps to get here, there is a link to the hotel through Expedia and there, the price was advertised as $161 per night. OUCH! Another slap in the face was that we were part of a wedding block and it is shocking that this was the discounted price. We attempted to speak to a manager at checkout and were told that no one was available. Finally, there was very loud live music from the lobby/ restaurant area that could/should have been dialed back for so many reasons, primarily because it is literally deafening. We are Californians and we love to travel, we're delighted to be at the magnificent wedding we attended, but this hotel is way too pricey for what you get. If you want to charge us this much money, at least throw some more coffee at us and consider making the bed ( we do not need fresh linens or towels, we know we are in a drought and are environmentally responsible ) and emptying our trash! And put some new doors in the garden view rooms! Maybe it is on us that we did not check our options but now YOU know! read more
