    Cobb salad and steak
    Kimberly L.

This hotel has potential we stayed here two nights and I would say it was ok but room for improvement. We went to the pool both days and every time they just were out of pool towels and I had to request more towels. The pool temp was chilly but the kids just went back and forth to the hot tub. The restaurant was mediocre. The Cobb salad tasted like it came from a cafeteria. Steak was good. The bed felt old. I definitely sank in a bit. Walls PAPER THIN, could hear people snoring, sneezes, babies etc. Also the pool closed at 10pm but partying was loud. Overall I liked the location, we got some hikes in and headed to Santa Cruz and the beaches nearby pretty fast. I think it could be a great hotel but needs work.

It is great to see that Sea Cliff is still around and now it is a Hilton Tapestry Hotel. The double queen room overlooking the swimming pool. It was great to see ice machines on the outside if the building instead of inside next to a guest room. There is an onsite restaurant and room service is available as well. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone that needs a nice place to stay. Close to the beach and local wineries and hiking trails.

Decided to stay here for a business trip instead of the host hotel and this place does not disappoint. The hotel is conveniently located less than five minutes off the highway. Once you arrive, it may take you a bit to find your building especially at night time as it's near impossible to see the building numbers without getting out of your vehicle. Can't really comment on the check in process as everything was done on the app, and you can use your phone to enter the building and enter your room. Place has ample parking. They do have four complimentary Charge Point chargers, but only two of them were working. The rooms were nice and had all the standard amenities, but the AC was noisy. Even though the AC had a sign saying it was controlled with the wall thermostat, that was not true. Whatever temp you set on the wall thermostat made no difference but the AC unit control worked. But it was so noisy that I ended up turning it off. The patio door opening to a small are with two chairs was a nice touch, and overall the bed was comfy. The bathroom tub could use a deep cleaning but it had good pressure and plenty of hot water. For special rate less than $200, it's a pretty good deal consider it's close to everything.

Stayed here for our friends 50th birthday. Pay over $600 for one night. Here was the issues we experienced: Floor filthy Stairs filthy Command Hooks in room one broken (have pic) Wires hanging & no smoke detector (have pic) Tape on bathroom door tv not working called two times after waiting 30 min. guy came and couldn't fix just walked out no explanation Dinner not good service had to ask for a waitress to help us Band not playing they canceled and front desk didn't let us know Outside light bulbs had no light switch we called and they said to put hand inside to twist the light bulb! can't turn off unless you have to twist again no switch. When we contacted them they were indifferent and only offered $100 credit. Hilton Corp non responsive. Hilton is a joke!

This was such a lovely Inn. There's ample parking, the lobby was very cute with a beautiful tree decked out for the holidays. The room was very nice. Everything was clean, we had a beautiful view of the grounds and pool area. The employees were very kind and friendly.. We only stayed the night as we were attending a holiday party, but I would definitely love to come back for an extended stay.

Staff are amazing from the concierge Claire & Alexa to Justin from Sevy Restaurant, they were all kind, amazing and very welcoming. Inn/Place is very clean and organized. The Sevy restaurant was a bit pricey but they give big portions so hence the price maybe. Overall, my family with my littles (my children) all had a good stay. The pond was a hit too! Pool was clean.

    Very burned and toasty salmon.

You get what you pay for i guess, rooms were clean, location and the overall property was great, would I stay again, maybe. The walls are very thin, we tried sleeping in however you could hear evwry word room service was saying a few rooms down. My wife and I got sick both times we ate here, really odd since we also went to fisherman's warf and in n out with no stomach problems. Then one time we ordered room service it was delivered in a to go brown bag and my salmon was completely burned, the rest has good taste but cmon, this would not be acceptable any where else, we were hungry, it was the skin side so I was able to peel most of it off however as you can see it was black and not blackened salmon.

We had a pleasant stay here. We booked the family suite, which had a bedroom with a king size bed, living room with pull out bed from couch, TWO bathrooms, microwave/sink/fridge. It was roomy for two adults and 3 teenagers. The teens stayed up all night and with them being in a separate room, it gave us adults time to relax and sleep. There was plenty of parking and the hotel front desk employee was very nice. My only complaint was that the shower looked permanently stained from black dirty markings. I made sure to wear my sandals in the shower and in the room... also, the slide shower door kept sliding open. Which kind of freaked me out because we watch way too many scary movies. I'm sure the shower door was installed unevenly... I hope that was the case. I'm not sure how many employees work here but it took a really long time for them to bring extra blanket/pillows and towels. Even down by the pool it took someone about 40 minute to bring out pool towels. We only stayed for one night as we were passing through the town. So we didn't get to explore the town and see what was around. We did go to the restaurant that was connected to the hotel. The hotel had a nice koi pond that was filled with fish. It was nice to look at and take pictures.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Seacliff Inn, especially given the price. I guess we should have checked the reviews before booking.... Rooms have been updated sometime in the last 5 years, but there were many things that could have been better. Lighting in sitting area of the suite was one super harsh bright white ceiling light - like a police interrogation room. We ended up bringing a nightstand lamp in from the bedroom. Cables dangled from under both wall mounted TVs - how hard is that to fix? Closet had no door, so anyone visiting your room sees all your stuff on display. Bathroom shower had a cheap dollar store plastic curtain and a very grungy floor. Lotion dispenser in bathroom was empty. I guess housekeeping doesn't check those? Bed was not comfortable at all. Both of us struggled to get a good nights sleep. Also, since more of a motel type setup, there's a lot of noise from people walking up the stairs and in the hallways. Hot tub was GROSS. Foam everywhere, green water. Disgusting! The stairs are so dirty that your shoes kinda stick to the steps. Definitely need power washing. Finally, no housekeeping service unless you request it - even with a 4 night stay. We needed fresh towels and they said they'd send some "right away" - after 20 minutes I went in the hallway to track down a housekeeper. The other towels never arrived. We did get a text from Clare at the front desk asking how our stay was and we responded saying we could use a fresh set of towels. Never any action. I guess they didn't really want to know? Parking is $10 extra. Food in restaurant was ok/decent, but overpriced. Wait staff was good. For the price, there are definitely better options in the area. Just an overall lack of attention to details. If $150/night cheaper, I'd give it 3 stars. Hilton Corp should be embarrassed. Finally after reading some of the other not-so-good reviews, it looks like the management team has always thanked people for their feedback, but obviously nothing has changed.

An Unforgettable Evening at "Whiskey on the Water"…read more The "Whiskey on the Water" dinner series at Seascape Beach Resort is an absolute masterclass in hospitality. Jesse Scott and his team have created a hosting experience that rivals some of the finest dining events I've ever attended. Perched atop the Seascape bluff overlooking Monterey Bay, the setting is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the Pacific creates the perfect backdrop for an elegant evening. What truly sets this event apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was attentive, polished, and genuinely invested in making the experience memorable. Their attention to detail rivaled--and in many cases exceeded--that of many five-star establishments. The food and whiskey pairings were outstanding. Chef Jae Moon delivered an exceptional menu that paired beautifully with an incredible selection of bourbons, including several rare expressions that even seasoned collectors don't often have the opportunity to enjoy. The educational component elevated the evening even further. The Suntory representative shared fascinating history and insights with the perfect balance of expertise, personality, and humor, making each tasting both informative and entertaining. From the spectacular setting and world-class hospitality to the remarkable food and exceptional spirits, every detail was thoughtfully executed. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend attending one--or several--of these upcoming dinners. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish, and I can't wait for the next one. Highly recommended!

Reason being is that most popular point out the negatives over the positives. However, the "Best Western Plus Capitola By-the-Sea Inn & Suites" in Capitola, CA absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Located directly on 41st Ave and just south of Capitola Ave, this hotel is in prime location with an abundant amount of retail stores and restaurants. Most importantly, it is only about a mile away from the beaches and of course, the Pacific Ocean. My lady and booked our stay for one night via-Priceline for the night of Friday 9/4/2026. What made this process easy was that I received a text alert saying that I had the option to check in early. Since we arrived around 2pm, we went to the front desk, provided the credit card I would be using, and was good to go. Our guest suite was amazing complete with a king size bed, sectional sofa, desk/study area, large 55" LED TV, spacious closet, mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, digital thermostat, fast Wi-Fi, and multiple USB outlets to charge your wireless devices. The blue colored walls and ocean prints also give you that California coast feeling, a very nice touch. I also wanted to point out that the bathroom also had amazing amenities including various soaps, hand lotions, and even a shower cap complete with lots of towels and wash cloths. The exterior was equally as impressive. This included a 24-hour fitness center, a heated pool/jacuzzi that is open every day from 10am-10pm (complete with a restroom), an ice machine w/adjacent snack vending machine, and a dedicated breakfast/cafeteria area (that is open daily from 6am-10am). I got to enjoy bacon, over medium eggs, biscuits & gravy, a yogurt parfait, coffee, and juice. They also carry assorted cereals, fruits, a waffle maker, pre-packaged Danishes, bagels, and toasts. Some of the other perks was an amazing waterfall at the front lobby, an onsite washer/dryer, and a dedicated room with local brochures around the Santa Cruz/Monterey area. Finally, the parking lot (which is located at the rear of the hotel) has more than enough parking spaces as well as several charging stations for those that drive an electric vehicle. One really amazing perk that elevated our entire experience was that we had made reservations for one of Capitola's most well-known and prestigious restaurants, "Shadowbrook". What made this uniquely special was that the staff that work here made special accommodations to have us picked up and taken via-1955 Checker Cab from the hotel to the restaurant! It even drove us back to our hotel when we were done eating our dinner. I will say that this hotel is as good as it gets when it comes to an amazing and memorable experience. We both slept peacefully (as the bed was comfy), the shower worked flawlessly, and most importantly, the staff was very courteous and friendly. I wanted to add that the rate we paid was unbeatable and way better than I had expected. If you ever plan on visiting Santa Cruz or Capitola for business or pleasure, definitely stay at the "Best Western Plus Capitola By-the-Sea Inn & Suites". My rating, a unanimous five stars.

The day before when we checked in, it was not the most friendliest checked in. My wife and I had questions with our room because we were looking for one with 2 beds instead of one queen and a pullout bed wouldn't be comfortable because we had one of our friends joining us for a wedding and didn't want her on a pullout bed. The person at the front desk was very short acted like we were bothering her and said nothing was available, this was at 4:00pm. I get it, the later you check in the harder it is to get what you want. So why at 7:30am the next morning my wife went to the front desk, spoke with Julian and he said there were plenty of rooms they could put us in with the 2 queens. On top of that he said some were available yesterday because they were not occupied. The downside of the hotel is it's a tough place to get out of the parking lot if you're in a hurry because it's a one-way street and as we found out prior when you come in after 10 o'clock, it's a tough place to find parking at the hotel. Besides to two hick ups this is a typical Fairfield Inn, the rooms are comfortable and the housekeeping staff is very friendly.

I then spent weeks calling and being told the owners would contact me. They never did. After I finally sent a formal written complaint, management acknowledged in writing that our room had not been ready on time, but instead of refunding a room we never used, they offered a 50% hotel credit that expires in 60 days. My injury is serious enough that I won't even be medically cleared to return to work within those 60 days, much less plan another vacation to this hotel. I'm not claiming the hotel is responsible for a fall that occurred on public property. I'm angry about how they treated us afterward.
