I give up, I won't stay here again. Sure, the landscaping looks great, BUT: There is NO housekeeping service for multi-day stays. When I called the front desk (as noted on the sticker on the bathroom mirror) they REFUSED to clean my room until they "checked my profile" and "talked to a manager". The tiny trashcans are not lined and overfill in one day. I had to go OUTSIDE of the building to empty my own trashcans. No microwave! Parking fee $10 Noisy guests above us and on both sides - paper thin walls. Dark, dreary rooms with dark furniture, and low wattage yellow lights that often don't work. No TV streaming - only "Live TV" unless you have your own login/account (which I would never share on a hotel system) Not enough outlets on the night stand - can't have both a computer and a CPAP machine. read more

GRAVEYARD WORKERS STAY AWAY! Paper thin walls like cheap apartments! You can hear other people way too easily. Sleeping during the day even at the end of the week will be a struggle. Needed 12 hours of sleep and barely got that. Left after my first night! Heater is REALLY LOUD AND WILL WAKE YOU WHEN IT TURNS ON AND OFF. No decent experience here. My house in San Ramon is way better then paying these prices. This place just wants money and nothing else. Sad. I'm sure this place will end up being apartments. read more

This is a 'pet friendly hotel' I was told when I went back to the front desk. I had checked in (not given property map or directions ) to my first room only to hear a loud large-sounding dog barking in a nearby room. They assigned me a new room in a different building without dogs. I certainly didn't want to pay 200+ a night to stay in a kennel! Of course they should have asked at the front desk if I was comfortable with a pet building or wanted one without. Just like smoking back in the day. The room was fine. Very large Samsung tv with my name displayed welcome me as a nice touch. Showers have dispensers for three types of liquids for bathing--good. However sink had a small facial soap bar and a pump container with moisturizer. I would have preferred pump soap instead. Exhaust fan in bathroom unusable due to excessive noise. We reported this on checkout. Restaurant has a nice location and outside area by a koi pond. Staff pleasant but need more training on food ingredients. Overall satisfactory but as a hilton tapestry property can be much better with staff communication at front desk and restaurant. Seems like a training issue that could improve. If you're not a dog lover or bringing a pet, buyer beware. read more

Went to check out but had a $30 credit as I am a Diamond Hilton Honors member. Asked front desk if we could get a coffee to go in the restaurant and she said we could. I told her there was nobody in the restaurant and she said well they should come out soon. Some guy was by the bar and we said we wanted two coffees he said ok I'll be with you and walked away. and a woman had been standing there a while before us and said "that's what I've been waiting for". So we waited at least ten minutes and he never appeared. There were two people in the restaurant and another waitress so I don't understand what the problem was. So I just said forget it and went to check out. The woman behind the desk I think her name was Kayneen? Something like that? Kay something?? I complained to her about the coffee situation and said I'm just gonna check out. She said nothing she was of no help. This girl had zero customer service skills. Then this guy comes out with the coffee and asked me did you want to charge to your room or did you want to pay cash? And I said I did want to charge it to my room but now my account has been closed out and she said well, I can re-open your account and charge it and then credit it. And I said no, forget it! I said good Customer Service would've been you saying go ahead and take the coffee and I'm sorry for your trouble. We didn't know this guy was going to come out with coffee because he barely even acknowledged us. I will never stay at this place again. Their customer service is horrible! read more

I have been staying at this hotel for 26 years. 26 years and I will not be returning. I guess it was sold to a new franchise 2-3 years ago and it was such a disappointing experience. When we got into our first room I went to close the curtains and found someone's dirty underwear on the floor. Then we went to wash our hands and there was no soap in the bathroom. We took our luggage back to the car and headed back to the front desk. I told the front desk person about our findings and she set us up with a new room. Although we didn't find dirty underwear in our new room, the shower in the bathroom still had hair from a previous guest all over it. When we first checked in, I inquired about our room options and was told that there were no upstairs king bed rooms available. So I was shocked to see a king bed upstairs in our new room confirming that we were in fact lied to by the woman at the front desk. Another disappointment was the television. There were no movies available to rent and the only way to access the guide was to turn the tv off and then on again. The next morning we went to the restaurant because they no longer do room service, which was always my favorite part about that hotel. I have celiac so I can't have any gluten. I saw the menu online ahead of time before booking and saw that they had gluten free options so I thought I'd be in good hands. I ordered a gluten free breakfast with basic scrambled eggs, potatoes and pork loin. About an hour later on the drive to the Monterey aquarium I began to feel very sick. I was sick for most of the day. We came back to the hotel and tried to eat dinner at the restaurant. Great location,right off the freeway across the bridge from seacliff beach. room seemed pretty clean, good amount of charging ports and lighting. Loved the blackout curtains and the private patio. Enjoyed the hot tub... although it did have a weird brown film on the bubbles and the towels at the pool were really small . Not sure if it was just my room, but missing several of the things you'd hope would be in a hotel room. They gave us one single paper coffee cup, no water cups, even the plastic ones ,at all in room. Provided coffee, but no cream or sugar packets. The tissue box literally had 3 tissues and no backup box. No soap in room, used body wash but was odd no soap. Good variety in the vending machine, like that it took $10 bills. read more

Decent hotel but a bit pricey A good place to stay if your looking in Aptos and don't want to stay in Santa Cruz

Awful experience. 1. Only Hilton chain I've ever been to (dozens and dozens) that doesn't have microwaves. Why? Clearly they are trying to promote their restaurant. They want to leave their guests with no choice but to buy overpriced disgusting food and drinks. 2. Cops always in parking lot. Alarms always going off. Lots of smoking on grounds. But then they charge for parking in this theft infested shady parking lot. 3. Filthy. Patio is cover in trash, leaves and dirt... the patio that over looking the grungy parking lot. 4. No room service even though apparently you can request it.. still won't get it. 5. Nothing is stocked. No cups, not coffee, very few towels. No bedding for the pull out. 6. VERY LOUD. House keepers have very loud music and yelling conversations in the halls right on front of your room very early in the morning while you try to sleep. The doors at the end of the halls are super loud and heard from inside the rooms. ANY TYPE OF CAR ENGINE can be heard from inside the room. I was awoken every time one started... people here were driving around all hours of the night. 7. Barking dogs all night. 8. Front desk doesn't answer their phone after numerous attempts. 9. Over priced rooms for what you get. 10. Awful location. 11. Bed sink way in and you can feel the springs. 12. Ask the front desk for something and plan on waiting 2 hours while asking 3 more times and if you're lucky you'll get your pillow 13. Wear a mask or smell poopoo 14 l. How can I possibly cover all the bad things in one review? I'll try! At check in they didn't have two bed queen room which I had reserved months before. The hotel does not give you new plastic glasses, cups, coffee pods, bed service, or trash removal unless you ask for it the day before. Our thermostat didn't work, so a repairman came and removed the cover from the wall unit and said he'd return to fix it the next day. Of course he didn't. There was a desk but no chair. A dog barked across the hall two of the three nights I was there. The front desk specializes in sighing and eye-rolling. For $400+ a night, I'd certainly expect a bit more than a bed and two towels. I should have stayed at a Best Western...and you should too! read more

Stayed just one night at the hotel however the front desk was super helpful. Alexia was working the front desk and was able to get me and my cousin an early check in. She also realized (once checking IDs) that our birthdays were a few weeks ago, she was so sweet and wished us happy late birthday. The next day she was also there and was able to help get us a late check out which came in super handy. I've never written a yelp review that wasn't asked of me but this service was so excellent I had too! read more

I definitely have WTF feelings about this place. It's clear from the outset that there is no housekeeping to speak of at the moment, I think they just change the beds & towels for new guests & that's it. Our carpet was covered in chip crumbs, and the balcony had never, ever been swept or cobwebs cleaned away - but that's probably less important than the inside, to be fair. We found a very inappropriate object in the bedside cabinet, duly delivered to reception - the receptionist, Maria, I think, could simply not have been any more helpful - they have a treasure there & are lucky to have her - she's too good for this establishment which I expect was once much loved by returning guests, but not now. I'm a little annoyed at myself for this next part but here goes - but I think I must be too old (50) for the screeching, water-bombing, gangs of teenage boys pretending to fight each other poolside, and the blissfully ignorant parents with them. It was chaos all the time, and I tried to relax there on 3 occasions over our 2 nights there. Not going to happen. Kids should have fun, but the pool area isn't JUST for kids, right?? We had $15 credit for breakfast per day due to our Hilton Honors membership. A kind of odd waiting set-up for a table, and a big deal made out of a '10 minute waitlist'. I'm pretty sure no-one considers waiting for 10 minutes to be an inconvenience, but given the tone from our host, I get the feeling he gets hassled about this stuff by ignorant guests all the time. It was an odd interaction, but didn't happen the next morning. I think it must be tough working there. With the exception of Maria, the staff seem rattled & edgy and in our years of HH membership, we've never encountered a Hilton property like this. There were several other annoying things, like one paper cup in our room, no towels at the pool and trash all over the place. We would not recommend. literally arrived to our room at 10pm tired and ready to crash out -- door was cracked open and looked like someone had laid down on the bed. no acknowledgement or apology from management, literally laughed on the phone and hung up when we called the front desk. very poor customer service and communication skills among staff. the hotel security guard was friendly and chill though and agreed that the rude front desk staff were crazy and weird lol. he was cool! will never be back! I have been coming to Sea Cliff Inn since 1987. Every summer at least once , sometimes twice . To my great disappointment I will not be going back. No more movies , no more maid service, no more room service, no more Chinese chicken salad , no more free breakfast, no friendly customer service. I tried to keep going because it was such a family tradition . At first I would bring my children, then also my grandchildren. I'm sad to say it has been so disappointing to say the least. It no longer feels like a vacation while staying there. They make you feel like a burden, and an inconvenience. read more

Housekeeping staff is terrible. Floors were filthy at check in. Staff woke me up at 8am talking loudly down the hallway and banging walls in rooms around me they were cleaning. I asked them to please keep it down and they gave me a dirty look. I called the front desk but that didn't help either. So much for vacation. Housekeeping proceeded to enter my room TWICE without knocking on checkout day before checkout. I am missing several articles of clothing and have reached out to the hotel but they have not responded. read more

Mediocre '60s-style motel with high prices. Breakfast which used to be included, no longer is. And now they charge a ridiculous $10 per day to park in their motel parking lot. Next time we're in Aptos we'll find a different place to stay. read more

They need to keep the local teenagers out of the pool!!! Last weekend 15 teenagers snuck in and made crated a nightmare for visitors trying to enjoy a vacation in Aptos! Rough water from flailing teens, Cuss words and footballs flying all over the place, while a mother and father were trying to peacefully swim with their 10 month and 3 yr old! Two 80 year old grandmothers, (my mom) we're thankful that one of the quests stood up and politely asked these unwanted trespassers to leave! Where was the hotel staff?? read more

I have been coming to this hotel for years, and loved every single one of my past stays here. Oftentimes I found excuses just to get away for the weekend here. Recently I booked a weekend long trip here and my first mistake was I paid twice as much as what I normally paid, but figured I love the place so much it's worth it. Well it wasn't, because when I got here I realized that the restaurant and bar was under construction and the front desk had lost its charm as everything was stripped from the walls including the beautiful fish tank that once was displayed behind the front desk. I was willing to overlook those things and just get to my room, and when I did so the room was still in the condition that I remember and that's why they get one star. The next morning I woke up to go into the hot tub like I usually do when I visit this place. Just as I got in a maintenance man came out of the building near the pool and said to me that I needed to get out and that everything was closed down. This was news to me because I had always gotten into the hot tub early in the morning. My next surprise was when I decided to get some breakfast. They used to have a very nice complimentary breakfast but not anymore. I was told that that has changed and that they have decided to no longer provide guests with a complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately I have one more night here, and I've already paid for it so I will use this place as a place to rest my head for the evening but I will not stick around and enjoy the hotel I'm emenities during the day like I had in the past. After spending countless nights here in the past I can honestly say that I will never stay here again. read more

Our room was disgusting. There was blood on the wall in the shower and little black hairs all over the bathroom. Like some really hairy person shaved they're entire body in there. At first I was confused like why would the hairs be all over the walls in the shower all over the sink and the toilet and the walls but then it occurred to me whoever "cleaned" the room probably juts took one rag and wiped all the surfaces. read more

In 2019 I was here with my sister for a family wedding that was close to this hotel. I share many of the sentiments of other reviewer's with respect to their criticism. I was extremely disappointed in the condition of our room, the quality of the amenities, and the overall ambience of this inn. While relatively clean, there were hairs in the bathtub, a spider, and the shower curtain was stained. And when I talk about the quality of the amenities, truly, the toilet paper was the lowest quality toilet paper I have ever been subjected to you, the bath towels were  the size of hand towels, the hand towels with the size of washcloths, and the washcloths were the size of diaper wipes. And they were threadbare. When we arrived, the remote control to the television did not work. I called the front desk and they delivered another one. That one didn't work either, so I just gave up and didn't watch TV. Not that big of a loss but still. Our upstairs neighbors sounded like gorillas stomping through the forest, there was a party going on somewhere with extremely loud noise. Oh and the free breakfast in the morning, what a delight. The eggs were cold, The sausages were mediocre, and the toaster didn't work to toast my English muffin. The rest of the selection of food was pitiful, and essentially the entire meal was inedible. There was no point to this whatsoever. All in all, it was a place to lay our heads, but certainly nothing to write home about. All that for $381.25 a night. There are far far better places to stay in the beautiful little town of Aptos, and I would definitely take a pass on this particular hotel. read more

HUGE DISAPOINTMENT. pictures of our room did not match the room we asked for,room was not ready at 4:00, front desk , which a smile would of been nice. , could not give an answer why and kept trying to contact housekeeping didn't give us an answer and helped another couple checking in totally ignoring us. Hour later we parked happen to pass housekeeping they had just finished the room There are no elevators so you need to book a room on the ground floor if you can't take the stairs, I have bad back my husband bad knees had housekeeping take our luggage up stairs Also our room faced a freeway so there is some noise tried asking for the room we booked was told there were no others, can't find ice machines it goes on and on. The real problem went to take a nice hot bath and the water was brown, so drained it.....next day looked like some sort of sediment WE CHECKED OUT A DAY EARLY. no way we were staying another night. Very surprised as a Hilton member Hilton has always been 5stars for us. Will not return. read more

The walls are paper thin. The halls echo and the quests seem to have no decorum and don't care about being quiet. There are mediocre amenities, no work out room, 1970's lay out plus highway noise. We had no towels and needed our room re-cleaned. Not at all up to a Hilton standard hotel. Sorely disappointed. Look elsewhere. read more

Our room was clean and plenty of room. The roll in shower is horrible for getting the entire bathroom wet. The shower curtain covers 3/4 of the shower and curtain is about 8 inches or more off the floor. Also, if you're a large person you won't fit very well. It's only about 4 ft wide if that. Fully open. Water pressure is good and maybe soft water. TV had issues. The WIFI is pretty sketchy. Mostly didn't have it. Restaurant on premises is good food, but very limited menu. They assume everyone drinks alcohol, because that's the only drink menu. First day and second day there we had pretty good service. I had my dog with me, so on patio eating. Nice scenery and they have patio heaters. The last night there, my son had to go inside and ask if we had a server. The young man who helped us was slow and didn't seem to care whether we were there or not. Also when I said I didn't care for an alcoholic drink he offered no alternatives. Again my son had to go inside and ask for what i wanted. Once we were served our food he didn't come back. Again had to go inside to ask for the check. He did get a tip, but lucky he did. Only because we are nice people and appreciate servers. We had to ask for everything extra. Towels, toilet paper, etc. What I did love was the Seacliff Beach. It was really nice with a lot of convenience. Very little walking to the beach, bathroom and parking right where we went. The grounds were landscaped nicely and a grassy space for my dog. It really wasn't noisy except for doors slamming. Also don't know why they charge for parking. Regular parking lot. No guard or anything. And there's no elevator, so if you go ask for bottom level if you have walking or climbing issues. read more

Do not stay here!! Horrible customer service. I should have checked Yelp beforehand as I now see the persistent issues with customer service. I booked this hotel and then my children became sick. I called to cancel and was reassured on the phone I would not be charged a cancellation fee; the woman was so nice on the phone so I didn't pressure her for a confirmation code or name and title(won't do that again). The following day they charged me a 266$ no show fee!! FYI this was 5 days before our stay so it wasn't even a no show. When I called to discuss it with the General Manager Ashley, she said there were no "notes in the computer" and that basically she believed I was lying about my conversation with her representative. Which doesn't even make sense given the charge was placed 5 days before our stay soooo if I hadn't called and cancelled how did they no to charge me a no show fee before the date of our stay? Why would I eat a 266$ no show fee? I would have had one of us go alone before taking that kind of fee. There are many other great places to stay in this area, I would not choose this one. read more

If I could leave Zero, I would. I booked and checked in at about 10pm. The service desk was very kind but the room was not. I booked a "King Suite" room for disabled because I had a hurt ankle and wanted to get in and out of the wash without having to put any weight on my ankle. I was able to locate the room which was fair for a "King suite" but the ac/heater units were broken. 60 degrees my whole stay here. I would turn the heater on but after about 3 minutes, it would turn off and back to freezing cold. When I called the front desk they sent the security guard to fix it, granted it was 1am. He could not get it fixed and then asked the front desk if there were any other rooms I could move into. There were no other "King Suites" available and because my ankle was hurting and it was very late, I decided I would suck it up in the cold because the front desk said I could call for some compensation for the horrible experience I had because I was having to leave at 5am for work. When I called the next morning to speak to the manager and ask about some compensation they said the most they could do was reimburse me for. my $10 parking pass for the night and that their hands were tied because I had not booked directly through their site and there was nothing they could do. $140 to sleep in a room that will freeze you and most likely make you sick the next day. You are better off sleeping on a park bench. read more
