Super happy that we have a seafood city in the 805. I have been on the late train of checking this spot out but finally made it in today for a grocery run. I'd been doing Instacart orders from them but first time physically inside this weekend to check them out. The inside was super super clean. Major points there! In the time I was shopping around they had plenty of staff working, floors being mopped and all of the aisles were well organized and pretty. This market is a pretty standard Asian goods focused grocery store. I found about 85% of what I wanted here. I wish they had a premium sushi section and some more Hawaiian imported goods (aside from juices and sauces) but otherwise I was able to find everything I was looking for. Their hot bar is also solid. A wide selection of items to pick and I felt the pricing was reasonable. Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out. read more

I've been to Seafood City multiple times, but one Saturday night was for their Late Night Madness event. My friend and I arrived at 8pm, checked into the event with a free ticket she downloaded from another app (I unfortunately for got the name of the app). It was pretty busy already with folks enjoying the DJ's tunes, filipino food and overall vibes. I bought the traditional Halo halo dessert (see my pic) and it was decent. Through out the night there was free gifts, contests and lots of dancing. Overall fun family event to enjoy. Seafood City is located in a strip mall. Lots of free parking. I occasionally shop here for speciality asian items that I couldn't find at Island Pacific. Prices are a bit steeper here. Service is decent here, for both the food court and supermarket. read more

I made a stop at Seafood City Supermarket in Oxnard off Rose Ave near the 101 freeway on my way up to the Central Coast to pick up some ingredients. To my surprise, this Seafood City looked brand new. It was so clean and huge. And it wasn't crowded (I came on a weekday afternoon). The employees were really friendly too. I even found some items I had been looking for that were out of stock in my local Seafood City. They have an assortment of Asian products - mostly Filipino items. Inside this supermarket, there's Grill City to the right (a casual cafeteria-style eatery offering popular Filipino dishes); they also have a bakery to the left. Oh, and the baked bread smelled so delicious! Overall, this is a well-stocked Seafood City. It's clean and spacious. And the employees are helpful and friendly. read more

This was my first time in and I loved it. Such a wonderful place to come and get unique foods that you wouldn't find in a typical grocery store. As we were just passing through, I couldn't pick up any frozen or fresh items but we did pick up a lot of snack, snacks, and some treats from the in-house bakery. Stopped in to pick up a few groceries on Saturday afternoon. From the outside, it didn't look busy, but inside, there was a good amount of people shopping, and the long cashier lines help tell the story. The food selection here is good for Ventura County. If we were in San Gabriel Valley or Garden Grove, I would have a higher standard for the quality and quantity of Asian goods. I like how there is plenty of food-to-go available. Although, the line at Grill City consistently is slow, but the service is friendly. Overall, this is the place to go in Ventura County for Asian groceries. Can't wait to see Jollibee open! read more

Seafood City - my happy morning place! I absolutely love coming to Seafood City in the morning -- no lines, super fresh food, and honestly it just puts me in the best mood. I always grab a new canned coffee or matcha (they have soooo many fun flavors!) and it's become my little ritual. Then I head straight to Valerio's by the seafood section, tucked away in the cutest little corner. Their beef empanadas and beef pan de sal are chef's kiss -- warm, fresh, and soooo good. But the real star? The lady at the register! She is the SWEETEST, her personality is adorable, and she literally makes my whole morning. Everything here is clean, fresh, and just good vibes all around. Plus, they host events from time to time, so definitely give them a follow on social media so you don't miss out! I had a very disappointing experience at Seafood City. I came in specifically because of their advertised prices, but when I went to check out, the items rang up at a higher price. When I pointed this out to the cashier, she shrugged it off and simply said the price was wrong--no apology, no effort to honor the advertised price. This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is unacceptable. If the prices on the shelves or in the ads are incorrect, they should take responsibility for it, not just brush it off as if it's the customer's problem. The lack of professionalism and accountability really ruined the shopping experience for me. I won't be coming back, and I'd advise others to double-check your receipt if you shop here-or better yet, take your business somewhere else that values honesty and customer service. read more

Seafood City family trips were a big thing growing up, and I'm thankful that there's one in Oxnard! This location is a lot smaller than the one I went to as a kid, but it's also cleaner and more organized. I always love browsing the snack, condiment, and ice cream aisles as well as their ready-to-eat meals section. I typically stay away from the meats because they're not the best quality, but their produce has been fine in my experience. This supermarket is catered towards Filipino cuisine, so their options outside of that are very limited. For instance, they don't sell Lao Gan Ma or kimchi here; I guess it's understandable to some degree, but I would think these are staples for any Asian household. Note: as of today, Grill City, Valerio's, and Bakers Avenue are open, but Jollibee is still closed (been waiting forever lol). read more

I really like this little market. Every now & then I'll stop by for Buldak ramen and other snacks you won't find elsewhere. I love that they have a big variety to choose from. Ok Oxnard. Out here leveling up. I got flashbacks of my visit when this was a different business. First off, the space has a great layout. Secondly, it smells amazing. Even from outside, you can smell the bbq going down inside. The ready to go food was for sure my jam. I ended up getting the liempo with dinuguan. They give you two scoops of rice. Great local asian grocery store for my cravings instead of having to drive all the way down to the SGV or OC. There's a bakery to the left when you walk in and a food court to your right with lots of Filipino small bites and dishes to choose from. Walk pass that and there's a huge produce area . They have some soju and beer tucked in that corner too. So many Ice cream options towards the back! Picked up some instand noodle packets today that I want to try out before committing to a full package . There's Isles of dried canned foods, dried foods, snacks, etc . The supermarket is huge! I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time. They have a bakery, an area to eat a meal ( Grill City), which serves Filipino style food, and also an area where they have things for self care/hygiene, cooking utensils, sandals... and then that does not include the many aisles of food and grocery items. I will definitely have to go back to explore more. The space was clean and organized, and the employees I interacted with were kind. My experience at Grill City is the reason why I am giving 4 stars. ( My food had an ingredient that was not listed, and I am allergic) So I feel that needs to be addressed with management for the safety of any other customers. Super excited to have a large Asian grocery store nearby. It's Filipino so it primarily has ingredients, dishes, produce most commonly used in Filipino cuisine. It does have some other Asian specialty foods as well, but just not as much. The main attractions are of course the seafood - it's in the name. They have a large area for what I presume is fresh seafood and also frozen seafood, many different kinds of fish and shellfish. The other major draws: the fresh bakery in the front with ube pandesal, sans rival cakes, and more. And, the hot food line where they serve a rotating variety of delicious Filipino dishes, many of which I have not heard of including grilled food, sweets, side dishes, and, of course, halo halo. Plentiful aisles of fresh and frozen food, huge selection of dry noodles and rice, tons of jelly and snacks both traditional and novelty, fantastic bakery, and a GRILL CITY hot deli counter where you can get sweet and tangy bbq skewers, noodle dishes, and fried fish with many side choices including lumpia, pork buns, and jelly desserts & drinks. So excited to finally see an Asian supermarket in Oxnard! I've been to a few Seafood City markets in LA and this one is well organized with plenty of parking spots. As soon as you walk in, you see the long line for the Grill City restaurant on the right side. There's also plenty of tables for dining in. And there's the Baker's bakery on the left side. There's breads and other sweet goodies for sale. The produce is on the right side of the store. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Love seeing the variety of produce that I can find myself using for Asian dishes. Also loved going up and down each aisles to see the sauces, snacks, noodles, canned goods, ice cream, drinks, and home goods. There's also a clean and fresh seafood and meat section on the left side of the store. Would love to get some fresh fish and try it next time! The staff was really nice and friendly. Definitely felt welcomed here. The lines moved quickly. And for the grand opening sales, they are giving away freebies for spending a certain amount. Don't forget to pick up your free gifts from the staff by the door on the right side of the entrance on your way out. Will definitely be coming more often to get my Asian groceries! read more

I swear this is the most incompetent Seafood City I have ever gone too. I should have complained 2 months ago when I asked for a catfish & tilapia to be fried & almost 45 minutes later the fishes were still not being cleaned or fried. And there were hardly any customers there so it shouldn't have taken that long. Today 6/16 around 4pm, I picked up 2 tilapias to be cleaned & fried. It was cleaned & fried in under 20 minutes so that was great. Got home & started prepping dinner, opened up the bag only to find that there's only 1 tilapia. Like WTF Seafood City! Train your employees!!! The Seafood City in Mira Mesa, National City & Chula Vista is nothing like Oxnard's store. There's always someone at the check out & the fishes are cleaned & fried right away. It never takes almost an hour especially when there's hardly any customers. I guess my family is right. Island Pacific might not be fancy looking, but at least they are efficient & competent. read more

Three times that I have fricking shallots rot 2 days after I bought them. A package of bell pepper that rotted out two days that I have it in the fridge. Lemongrass that was priced as bell peppers ( which was pricier). Food around 8pm, they'll don't even care about serving you up quickly. I love the dinuguan, halo halo , bukonpandan, adobo, etc etc, hotpots, but the service is bad on some days. Some days you're greeted by people with unlimited smiles, the next , I felt like a burden to them. Super exciting to finally have a Seafood City in the Ventura County area! I used to go all the way to Panorama City to get my filipino food/groceries fix so it's super convenient to have one open nearby. Seafood City's grand opening was on Thursday, July 28 and I visited today on Friday, July 29. There was so many people standing in line at Grill City that it went all the way outside the door! The inside was very spacious and clean with restrooms in the back. Even though there were a lot of people, the regular grocery lines had almost no wait. Compared to other Seafood Cities I've been to, the Grill City had a large area with a wide variety and assortment of dishes. I ordered grilled squid and laing and it was super tasty! As of now, they're still working on opening the Jollibee, Chowking, and bakery so I will be stopping by to check them out once they open. read more

First and foremost, this is a nice store. My wife and I have been here a few times for our asian grocery needs. But what got me leading to this 1 star was the unsanitary staff. I went into the men's restroom and a staff who was there did not even bother to wash his hand after using the urinal. After finishing washing my hands, I walked out and asked my wife where did the guy walk off to, and behold, the meat section. I quickly told my wife to not to pick up any meat products because I do not trust eating anything package from this store anymore. I rarely leave negative reviews and hate negative reviews, but this had me feeling disgusted. This is so unsanitary and the store should not operate at all with any type of produce with workers like that. read more

Finally decided to check this place out. I was craving sinigang, unfortunately, they didn't have any. So we tried several different dishes. The best things we had were the following: Lumpia Chicken Skewers Ube Halo Halo Large deep fried fish of some sort Everything else was pretty dry. The pancit and lechón dish weren't great. The bao was ok but I think it's me that doesn't like bao in general. I was super impressed with the grocery section. They literally have everything you could ever need if you're cooking Filipino food. It's like the Vallarta for Filipinos. I'm disappointed that I have to write this review but I was obviously being ignored. This was my first time here. I arrived on Sunday March 17, 2024 around 8:30pm. Please review the hot food counter from the times 8:30pm-8:45pm. I've never been blatantly ignored at any establishment in my entire life. I was in line with my autistic brother. I stood for maybe 3 minutes maximum on the side where I wanted two kabobs. There were two ladies in that area, they had their backs turned with no eye contact. One was wiping something down and then another one was sweeping. I figured maybe I order at the cash register. So I walked to the cash register to three other ladies. I asked them where do I order the hot food? They said order on the other side. I walk to the other side, waiting for maybe min or two and I was still ignored.....So I just gave up and left that area. I got pancit and my brother got pizza instead. We were hungry. I look back at the line 5 minutes later and I see four people being helped in line, a couple and a woman with a child. Why didn't they want to help me and my brother? I waited there for a few minutes and even asked a question. No one acknowledged us. Just ignored us with backs turned. I've never had such a bad experience and the worst part was they helped people after us. We just wanted kabobs that were already made. I'm so upset with this experience. read more

We ordered pancit and we're excited to buy it and share it with our kids since the Filipino folks who ordered before us had their container overfilled (the lid barely closed!). We'll, they practically took most of the pancit and when it was our turn I told the gal I wanted exactly what they ordered. The gal proceeded to remove the tray and I thought "oh she's going to tell the cook to bring up another tray of pansit because there's not enough for our container." NOPE!! She scrapped off what was left and put it in the tray - it was LITERALLY no more than 1/2 of what she gave the Asian folks before us (we're Hispanic). They charged us full price, and since I'm not one to make a scene, we left. She either knew the folks and hooked them up, or purposely gave us less than she gave them. So, beware. read more
