If there was an option less then one star that I can choose, I would! I placed an order for 4:45 pm (the time I received a text message) that the my order was received and being processed, even provided an order number. According to my order, the food would be delivered between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Received a call from my sister at 7:28pm to advised the food had not yet been delivered. Checked if my account was charged, and sure enough it had been! Tried to call, phone number listed was not in service. Called Seafood City, there were 3 options to choose from (one for Grill City), no one picked up from any of the options. Then it goes to a voicemail that stated mailbox is full. Why do you have a phone number with options to reach a person when no one will answer and then the mailbox is full? Poor service on both ends in my opinion! Then my sister and brother also tried to call, still no answer. I understand you may be busy, but the whole night and there's not one person that can answer the phone? This is ridiculous! I didn't even want to order from there, you were my last option, and now, I know why you were my last option and will never by my option again. I may be one person complaining, but I don't know if others have had the same experience. I do see a couple of negatives posted, and you're lucky there are some positives, but I wonder how many actual negatives are out there and just didn't take the time to write a review. Welp...won't be ordering from here again or picking up. I know I've been in there to pick up some food, and service wasn't too good either. Grill City is located inside of Seafood City Supermarket in Oxnard. I've only been inside the store a couple of times & there's always a line at Grill City. Don't let the line steer you away, it goes quick. If you have someone else waiting in line with you, you can go check out what food they have that day, while the other person waits. It makes the line go smoothly if you know what you want ahead of time. Also, if you're new to trying Filipino food, you have some time to google some of the Filipino items if you're too reserved to ask. Haha... It's Cafeteria style, where you wait in line, pick all of your food items & they box it up for you. You can order your desserts & grab drinks too. Then you pay for everything. There's plenty of tables inside to eat there. TIP: It helps to grab a tray when it's your turn to order, especially when ordering more than you can carry. I appreciate the diversity of patrons in line & those that were dining in... I love that the Filipino Culture is finally getting some recognition here!! We ordered 2 Value Meals, which had a choice of Grilled entree + an additional food item. It was more than plenty for the 3 of us to share. They give you a generous serving of rice. We were happy with our order & our bellies were happy & stuffed. The lady who rang us up was cheerful, nice & appeared super eager to be there. We don't get that that often nowadays. The grill is still a pretty popular place but not as popular as when they first opened. So it's nice that the lines are not that long and it doesn't take you too long to get your food. They still have a huge variety of foods. I only wish I knew what all of them were! :-) No signs to indicate what foods are in the hot bins. Some of the items are self-explanatory, such as beef, chicken, pork on a stick. Other items, such as the adobo and other stew-like dishes were not. So in my opinion, these ae the pros and cons. 1) Pros: food looks delicious and is prepared quickly while you place your order down the cafeteria-like line. All the meats on a stick are good. Go for the newer sticks as the older ones can be hard from sitting too long. Plenty of offerings that they kept replenished. Yummy halo halo! 2) Cons: No labels on food so for the novice, I did not know what half the items were. Grilled meats can get hard if sitting too long. Wait staff (?) kind of rushed you through and did not want to answer too many questions. My main beef is I went in for the happy hour. Some good deals that would give me a chance to try some other items without having to buy a whole regular portion. No signs were posted regarding happy hour. When I asked, they said they only had one noodle dish. I asked about the other items and they said no, they did not have those. Disappointed! So I decide to ask the cashier. She pointed out to another special which was four lumpia and a drink for $5. So I ended up with lumpia deal. After looking at the menu, I figured had I bought the lumpia and drink separately without the deal, it would have been cheaper! Lol. We did get the halo halo for $5 which was a great deal and it was delicious. I may go again if a friend wants to go but will not go there on my own by choice. I was so impressed when I walked into Seafood City supermarket. It is clean and has such a wide variety of Asian goods. The mugs are adorable!! The bakery had so many items that I will need to go back to try. After looking around at all the people ordering their food at Grill City, we decided we had to try it. The workers were kind, although be aware that you will have a language barrier with some employees. After much consideration, the menu is extensive, I settled on the pancit and pork skewer. It also came with white rice as a combo meal. The price felt moderate, 12.00 for all that is pictured. Everything was going well until I realized that my pancit had shrimp in it. I am allergic!!! I was disappointed that the sign did not say this was a seafood dish!!! Or at least not translated. What had been a pleasant experience turned into a scare and trying to get benadryl as soon as possible. So because of that I am giving the 4 stars. I will be contacting management to alert them of this very high risk for potential injury to their customers. But overall the food was delicious, the other platters looked tasty and I would like to go back and give it another try, with a friend to translate . read more

We waited so impatiently for Seafood City to open and all of its restaurants to open. Naturally we had to stop and eat at Grill City. Delicious, authentic Filipino food. It's not fine dining cuisine, but worth every penny. We got the Whole Grilled Squid Meal with the Adobo Pusit. The squid had a nice char to it with just the right amount of chewiness. Goes very well w/ the vinegar and chili sauce. Huge cafeteria-style dining. Lots of classics - pancit, lumpia, kare kare, crispy pata, etc. And of course, halo halo. Sorry to say not happy. I called in the morning for Taho and was told it would be ready by 10am. I came in and was told it won't be ready until 2. I prepaid so I could just pick it up. The lady was kind and gave me an extra one. I am not Filipino so I don't know what goes with it. I brought it home to my wife and she asked me where is the Sago. No idea what that was but apparently they gave her ten pieces. She called to complain and was told they had to limit the Sago because they weee running out. I was at the Grill City in Oxnard April 06, 2024. I bought our lunch Double Classic Combo. With one serving of white rice Choose two classic entree. So I chose my 4 items plus rice. Supposed to be $14.99 each with the total of $29.98 But what happened is, I got charge by itemise plus 2 dollars. When I tried to protest the extra $2 dollars charge the cashiers can't even explain. She just told me that's how much I owed! And then when I asked how much really is the 2 items double classic combo? She can't even answer! Wow!
