Well got invited out to dinner with friends here,wifebhas been here before and said it was good. Well bit of a wait for a table, but that had to mean food was good!! Our waitress was named Willow, and she was amazing, Food came out hot and fresh i opted for simple chicken fried rice, wife and friends shared a big family boil. Now i did try some of the sausage from boil, medium heat..wasnt bad im just not a big seafood boil person .But i will say i definitely will be going back to try somebother food from there.My rice was such a big portion i had to share !!! If your a big Louisana style aeafood kind of person definitely give them a visit!!! I came here with a group of friends for dinner, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. Even though Seafood Dock is known for their seafood, I personally wasn't in the mood for a boil that night, so I ordered the lemon pepper wings with fries. The wings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and hit the spot, and the fries were crispy and satisfying,simple but solid. That said, when my friends' seafood boils came out, wow. The smell alone was incredible rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. I couldn't resist trying a few bites, and I'm glad I did. The potatoes and broccoli were especially good, soaking up all that seasoning, and the seafood itself tasted fresh and well-cooked. You could tell this is really where they shine. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and it's definitely a fun, casual spot to go with friends. The atmosphere feels laid-back and social, which makes it great for group dinners. While my non-seafood order was good, seeing (and tasting) the boils made me want to come back and try a full seafood meal next time. We were travelling and stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is so cute! We had the crab balls as a starter. They were delicious! I had the shrimp basket with onion rings which was a $1.50 add on. Went to this location based on local suggestion and we weren't disappointed. Friday night arrived around 6, just before the rush hours, perfect! Ordered fresh oyster as appetizers, according our server its from Louisiana and they are hugeeee! Its tastes great and fresh! We pick our own combo with crab legs, calamari and shrimp with broccoli as add on, it also came with potatoes and corn cobs. Alex was our server, she is friendly and has the right suggestions. Attempted to get a good seafood meal while visiting the Ville this weekend. Seafood Dock was recommended and Yelp reviews were favorable. The oyster platter photo cinched the deal. What started out as promising did not end well. Following were my pros and cons: Pros - *Prompt seating and server taking drink orders *Delicious oysters that looked like picture - combo Cajun and garlic butter seasoning was perfect *Good drink selections - Whiskey Ginger Smash was very tasty. My daughter enjoyed her Lychee Mojitos *Attentive service by 2nd server and did not feel rushed even after 11 pm close *Large screen television which worker graciously changed to allow viewing of Gator basketball dominate Bama Cons *First server went ghost when ready to order - later told that she got preoccupied with a large party. Had to flag down another worker to get second server. *Food ingested made me and my adult children sick. Cannot pinpoint if it was the preparation of food or the food itself. I ordered the snow crab legs and green mussels with the combination of Cajun and butter garlic sauce (again) and added broccoli to potatoes and corn that came with order. My daughter had the same sauce combo with snow crabs and crawfish with addition of broccoli and eggs. She also added a spicy Seafood Dock sauce to her meal, and we both added generously to our meals. All items were tasty as were our drinks. Leftovers were bagged and shared upon arrival at our destination. I had an upset stomach later that night and my children were similarly impacted with the adverse effects. It was not a highlight of this return to G'ville and the $130 plus generous tip was not warranted. This rating is more because of the food and bc of the waitress we had. With that being said, we didn't have the best experience granted we had a party of about 20 so that had something to do with it but not making excuses for it. Just so you're aware, there's a $30 fee to use the back room for a large party. Ok so it was pretty empty when our scheduled reservation was for (4:30). Idk if it's because they were short staffed or what but the wait took a while and then it took a while for us to be waited on. Nothing against Allie though, she was great, but I'm sure she had other tables to work on which was a problem. About 6 of us ordered drinks and those took forever and then after that it also took forever for us to order food. Once we finally got the food, everything was delicious. Most people got theirs at the same time but there were a few who's came maybe 15-20min later. I had a dozen oysters steamed in the seafood dock seasoning and also lobster bisque. I'd be back for both! I also had a peach margarita and considering it was during happy hour, it was pretty strong. All in all not the worst experience but also not the best. read more

The decor is magnificent and service immaculate. I tried the oysters, steamed, w/garlic butter, spicy. Omg, I feel in love. Steamed well and lots of butter garlic seasoning and there were plenty of garlic slices to let you know..there is garlic. Not to spicy, hit the palate just right. Then the encore meal, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, corn, sausage, and an egg. After the amazing experience I had with the oysters, the main meal left me flat, deflated, and gravely disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it surely was not good. There was plenty of butter oil, I stayed with the garlic butter seasoning with this on as well. Back to the butter oil, it was just that, didn't taste buttery at all, just oily, but there were plenty of garlic slices, but not even that could salvage this miss. Nothing was seasoned, well cooked, but bland, boring, and uneventful. I don't eat pork sausage, but I did try two, they were the best part in terms of seasoned foods. The sausage were a bit soft, no crunch to the skin; just a sausage. The corn was definitely frozen, soft, sweet, no crunch that you would get with fresh corn. And then leaves the shrimp and crawfish. You get a healthy portion, shrimp are a nice size, no teeny tiny shrimp here, and the crawfish were a healthy size for crawfish. The butter oil soaked into both, but they were still bland. So, give it try, and if you need to, bring your own Lawrey's or save the calories and just get a fried basket of something. read more

The fist time I went here it was actually good not the best but good. So of course, I went for a second time. This food was Trash. It was absolutely nasty. The broccoli was very hard The corn was old and reheated it looked horrible. Now the seafood bag....the garlic butter didn't have any taste it was like just a bag of oil. I would definitely recommend this place. It's clean, good food and excellent customer service. I had the 1/2 lbs. snow crabs and 1/2 lbs of blue crabs. It came with potatoes and corn. Every tasty if you are looking for seafood. Nothing was standout about it because it's still a chain seafood dock, juicy crab, Cajun crab company.... They are all the same. This food has everything a traditional seafood boil. Got to give it a solid two star though. I had the build your own. Crab, ramen, corn. Ramen, great texture and delicious. Doc's special, medium with chili oil on the side. Corn was bland even after mixing in with sauce. The crab, looked delicious, but was dry, so over cooked. Ambiance was dope. We had the best time! This past Monday night we went to Seafood Dock for the first time ever. We are visiting from South Florida. Alexandra was our server and she was so friendly, attentive, and provided us a great dining experience and service for our date night! We got seafood boil I believe combo #3, let me tell you the best seafood boil we ever had! Looking forward to come to Gainesville again just to have the seafood dock seasoning and the delicious boil. Hi, we are a 60 year old married couple. So we're not young. The food was good. My husband got the oysters and I got the shrimp fried rice but the problem is the atmosphere. For people Age, we don't want that kind of hip-hop rap gangster music playing. It was just bad and if the music hadn't been so loud and so bad, it would've been a five star for us. You know, I realize that older people are not really paid attention to in Gainesville because it is a college town, but we do have the most money to spend, and we usually are the best tippers. We had a great server, her name was Delaney, but it didn't matter because it just was such a crappy atmosphere. I'll just keep going to Northwest Grill and get good seafood. I have to say, the decor in this place is spot-on! Though it's relatively new, I think this place has a lot of potential. We went for their lunch special and for $11.55 for a no-head shrimp seafood boil with a choice of two sides is worth the price! Not only that, the cocktail was pretty good! I'm rating my first visit five stars. Everything from the clean entrance, to quick friendly service, decor, to menu choices, food, liquor, and prices. We started with the calamari. It was cooked perfect and served with a spicy, sweet red chili dipping sauce. I ordered the combination basket and my husband ordered the catfish. The baskets were HUGE. I wound up taking half of it home. We didn't order any of the boils this time but seeing the food on other tables, we will order these next time. The boils and steamed options are pretty pricey but it's a sign of the times. Everything is more expensive so it's a treat for us. And $1.00 domestics??? Yes . We will be going back. read more

I love seafood, so it's a must that I try out all the seafood restaurants in the city. I have been anticipating the opening of this restaurant because it stands out so much, once I stepped foot inside the restaurant I saw exactly why. The decor is very nice, it's clean and the art as well as the giant televisions go along with a sports bar/ lounge type. Food was good well above my expectations but I will say it does taste more on the Chinese side versus and Vietnamese seafood boil in which is most common in the Gainesville area. I chose the Combo that had the Snow Crab, crawfish and Shrimp w/ corn & potatoes and added a side of boiled eggs. I chose the Seafood Dock sauce which is a combination of all of the seasoning mixed with selection of spice level. I recommend this restaurant over Mr&Mrs Crab for now. The vibe is more friendly and the prices are cheaper and you're getting larger portions and food quality is better. read more

Also plastic utensils is a no no for crab as they are too easy to break using to get the meat from the shell and not to mention the environmental effect of plastic utensils. Could have been a lot better and was disappointed. I found the bench seats in the booth to be uncomfortable but we were there for the food. Decor is cute and inviting. Oysters were good but not cut from the shell so difficult to maneuver. Hush puppies were the size of a small quarter, solid dough with an occasional piece of corn. Fish only comes with cornmeal breading - not my favorite and served over a huge serving of french fries. The country boil was good except for the corn. You have to ask for any condiments you want, even salt and pepper, plastic service ware. Realizing this is a soft opening of this restaurant I will try to be fair minded. They are not equipped to deal with older handicapped individuals. We were a party of 5 with 3 members using walkers. They can seat 4 people at a table with all chairs but nothing larger. They put 2 tables together and 2 of us sat on the booth seat and the other 3 on chairs. It wasn't ideal but it worked. The owners are asian and do not have a good handle on english yet which made it a little difficult to work out the issue with the table and chairs. Our waiter was great and did his very best to accommodate us and answer questions. I ordered the 1/2 # shrimp without heads hot boiled. The menu states that the boil comes with corn on the cob and potatoes. I got no corn and only one small potato. My entire meal with only luke warm and was cool before I could finish. The shrimp were large and good but I prefer them warm. Cold potatoes are not my cup of tea. It is served with plastic ware and for the price this seems a bit much to me. The extra napkins with only a 2 fold and thin so I had really messy hands from pealing my shrimp. I ate some french fries from my husbands basket and they were nice and hot and crispy. Really good fries. However his catfish basket was served in a small round basket with the fish on top of the fries and pretty hard to cut and eat on top of fries. A rectangular basket would work much better. Another member ordered the blue crab and the shell was not cut anywhere which made it very difficult to eat. Also it was slippery so very difficult to break the shell with the implement provided. The in house made sausage was very good according to her. Onion rings were good. Only a light batter coating and fried nicely. We will go again after the new year when they have had time to work out some of the kinks and hopefully get the same terrific waiter. This would have been my first time going here but it more than likely will be my last time. To start the night we go in ask for a booth which there were some open. Told we had to wait and when she decided to seat us she takes us to a table in the back so we asked again for a booth and she acted like we never asked but she wrote it down. Christina the waitress was very nice at this point the only good I found there. While waiting for our food we were enjoying a basketball game only for a guy who later identified himself as the manager (David) when I called back to get the manager's name just walked up and turned the channel. When I asked him why he changed it he told me he didn't know I was watching it, but he didn't ask me either. Yes the little things turn me off sometimes as basically he told me I was invisible to him so he changed the channel.
