Go at your own risk for a smog check at this location. The smog check side of this location is AAA & B Test Only Center. I called a few places to get a quote on a smog check, as this the first I've had to do. Most quotes were coming in the range of $49, with or without smog certification. I called twice, once to get the quote at $49.95, then a second time to see if it included smog certification, which it didn't, but was quoted at $8.25. I chose it based on convenience of my errand running. The smog check itself didn't take long, although I had to sit on a grimy looking chair. The smog check attendant provided me a written receipt to take to the cashier, and the cashier quoted me $78.20! WTH!?! I explained to the attendant that I was quoted $49.95 and $8.25 for the smog check on the phone. He replied that he was just the cashier, and that I should talk to the smog check guys. I spoke to the attendant, who didn't apologize, and wrote a $20 discount on the receipt with no question in order to give me the correct rate. It was no mistake, he was definitely trying to rip off a female who came alone. read more

I so wish I would of read the reviews before I went to this convenient but highly unprofessional location. I think the mechanics are good but the misrepresentation got to me. Nothing happened the way it was agreed. If you go there, get EVERYTHING in writing before they start. Don't fall fro the phone approval. Ask for the parts back. BEWARE!!! read more

Prices are too high, at least a 13 cents more per gallon than the other gas station across the street, a Chevron.Not much of a mini mart, no newspapers available there, and the help is crabby and not too friendly. read more

Seems to me that all the bad reviews were related to smog checks or maintenance. Since I've only come for gas, it's safe to say that I haven't had any bad service. I do like the clean convenience shop inside where I can get a cup of Java before I hit the road too. read more

My check engine lite came on driving down the 405.i ended up getting off on seal beach Blvd and this was the only gas station on the exit. They helped me right away. Lucky it wasn't serious. Nice people place was really clean. Definitely would come back. Thanks chris.a read more

AVOID LOCATION !!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SKETCHY REPAIR! The manager of the repair shop talks to you like you're an idiot, I got my cars alternator and power steering belt replaced here, they removed ALL of the belts in that area including ac compressor, I had no problem driving with no AC but they over torqued my crankshaft pulley and caused it to wobble. Luckily it didn't start wobbling until i got off my exit. I called and spoke to the man who oversaw the repair whose name was tony to handle it and told me that I stated specifically, "Replace two belts" I did order that specifically but I did not ask for the compressor belt to be replaced as it was in good operating condition. Tony talk to you like you're a child, he is very rude and have zero people skills, he constantly cursed and always yelled at his one and only employee,(I believe the person working for him was an undocumented citizen because no one would be willing to work for him.) The service was fast but was done poorly. They claim "satisfaction guaranteed" well I can guarantee it most certainly is not. read more

I also had my oil changed here about a month ago, and right after I did the check engine light came on. I think they screwed with my car. Why someone would manage their business this way is beyond me, don't they know that unhappy customers = less money, and eventually (and hopefully) no money... Just my luck i did not read reviews!! My Grand Marquis 2007 driver side window got stuck. Was told 'regulator broken' estimate $275 $195 for part, rest labor. My stupodity - got it done. Collosal error. Part costs $49 at O'Rielly. Take 1.5 hours labor $90 how does this become $275 plus tax???? As they say caveat emptor. Man was this emptor taken!! I followed Burt from his previous employment to this gas station. Burt is hands down the best mechanic in town. Over the weekend I hit a large boulder with my truck while camping. After doing this my truck was making a horrible sound. I thought I had done something very serious to my truck. Burt took a look and it turned out an easy fix remedied the issue. This shows that Burt is an HONEST mechanic. He could have told me anything and I would have believed him. Thank you Burt for your continued help with my vehicles. I've bought gas here for years and every body is nice and helpful. Just recently I've taken my truck there to get the front brakes done. It was fixed in the estimated time they said. Exactly 2 hours to remove and replace calipers, discs and pads. Truck runs like new again. They're all very professional. read more

I have been sending all my cars to Bert for 20 years and trust him implicitly. He was formerly at the 76 on stearns in Long Beach. Great , honest guy who will not tell you that you need unnecessary work! He is in it for the long haul. He's not so good at golf, would be my only criticism! read more

We have been taking our cars to this gas station for automotive maintenance and repairs. We liked and trusted Bert. However, he pointed out that my radiator had a small leak at the top and wanted $850 to replace it to include $400 plus for labor. I was shocked at the price and used Yelp to find Benny's Radiator who did the work for $290 a $560 savings and one year warantee. In fact Benny's would have repaired the leak with a new part for $190. This is outrageous price gauging by Bert and Seal Beach 76 and we no longer trust Bert or use this gas station and highly recommend Benny's. read more

IF I could give negative stars I absolutely would. I wish i had read the reviews here as well. I went here a few years ago and got a smog and of course the guy was rude but my car passed, so I just went about my business. Well I just went back to get the same car smogged again and of course he was rude again. Must have rolled his eyes at me at least 20 times. I showed up close to closing so I understand he may have been frustrated, however the last time I was there early and it was the exact same attitude. I wasn't going to say anything even when the car failed, however once I tried to show the guy at the register the coupon I had on my phone, it went downhill quickly. The coupon clearly stated either print or present coupon on mobile device. Before I had even gone in to pay when he told me it failed I asked what I should do and it said it was not his problem and whatever I wanted to do. I asked then since it failed can I bring it back to have it checked again for free as i know most places offer this and he said yes. So when I showed the guy at the front the coupon he said I had to go talk to the guy who did the smog (the rude grey curly haired man). The man at the counter was not rude at all and when he told me that I honestly thought about paying the full price(which is a rip off anyway) just to avoid dealing with him again, however he had just walked in saw that I had the coupon. He rolled his eyes at me and was clearly irritated again and told me that next time I have to print the coupon off in order for it too be good. I told him it clearly says on here on my phone that you can present your mobile device and there was a code. He told me again rudely that it did not say that, as if I am a moron and cannot read...and I told him once again that it says on there that I can show it to him on the phone. He rolled his eyes for about the 30th time and said ok well you can't come back for a free one now. You have to pay. Wow So either pay 80 a completely crazy price for a smog check, or pay 50 and i have to come back and pay $50 again to get it smogged once again and deal with a complete jerk. Sorry no thank you. All of these reviews are spot on. I took the coupon and will never go back here again. The owner should really consider these reviews and think twice about who he has working here. My family and I have given this gas station a couple of chances. Each time i have used them for smog check or other simple auto. problems they (especially the guy with the grey, tight curly hair) has been Extremely rude to me. I went in today to see if they could put a plug in my tire (I had a nail in it) and the same guy treated me like I was a piece of dirt. I drove off and used a much nicer, more thorough garage (Stergens) in Seal Beach. I will never buy gas or use this station again. Rude and extremely unprofessional! read more

Management has been changed since febuary 1, 2017. The older white dude ( Bert ) is the new manager. Adel was the cashier not the rude, condescending, unprofessional jerk who was so described in prior reviews. BOTH employees mentioned in reviews are no longer employed at our station!!!!!!!!!! I was the service manager here from 1998-2003. I relocated at Cylinder Automotive, Long Beach, Ca 2003-2017. I welcome anybody to research reviews for that business. I should have read the other reviews before I took my car into this place for an oil change and tire rotation. The charge for this service was $65.00, even the Hundai Dealer would have been cheaper and to have this crude man talk to me the way he did was a little over the top. I am a disable man in a wheelchair and i cannot pump my gas, I went there and asked for help and the guy told me that he could not help me because they has only one attended, i would have understood that if there were other cars there, but i was the only one and i was refuse help and they have a handicap sign out on the window shame on these people read more

I have had two not so good services at this station. First one was about a year ago, I had have had a problem with suspension. They put new bushings on one side of my car. They noise stopped for a while but came back within 2 weeks, at a price of over $500. Three weeks ago I went to the station because of over heating on my car. They said it was a the air conditioner condencer. For a price of 7ll.00 It worked sort of ok, but was never super cold, but yet it was winter. Yesterday while having the air on the car started to over heat again. Thank god for my daughter, she mentioned that it was probably the freeon and the conditioner had to be recharged. We stopped at Jiffy Lube and found out that this station never recharged the air conditioner and that was the problem for the over heating. I always thought this place was nice and so close to Leisure World. I live at Leisure world and liked the convencience of walking to get the car. This is the last time I will go there. There seems to be something wrong with their ability to work on cars, and they seem to take advantage of Seniors. read more

I kinda hear what the others are saying but, in their defense, they have always treated me well. Yes, the old guy that sits in the chair is lazy. Absolutely. He's old and probably had a bad life in his country. No excuse but, understand everyone is not like you or I. The smog charges? I always, always barter for the best price [before] I get the bill. Trust me; I've smogged dozens of cars over the years. I have yet to find one that is consistent in price or honesty. Do your diligence, shop. When I need gas; I pay at the pump. Who the H goes inside anymore??? Use the pump to pay. I get my propane filled [alot]. I've shown up late and they were closing and was a Sunday. They took the time to help me out. That was cool and my barbeque stayed on track. Tony always takes care of my BMW. Even though my wife sold it (Uhg!) but, he always was fair. So, to the haters who had a bad experience; you'll find fault wherever you want to find it.
