The staff was friendly, albeit difficult to understand. They got me in and out in 15 minutes. When I last went two years ago, the cost was $40 flat out the door with a Yelp coupon, on this visit the cost skyrocketed to $50, a 25% increase! My star deduction was general workplace cleanliness, which is not something they are too concerned about. I'm not sure if I trust these mechanics anymore. I brought my car to check out the brakes and fan belt because there were noisy sounds and I just wanted to be sure there was nothing serious. Mechanic tells me it's the timing belt and water pump and I have a coolant leak. The funny thing is I've had all those things repaired already at my friends mechanics shop 2-3 months ago. I tell him that and he snaps and says "go take it over there then"... very unprofessional and I don't trust them now because if there really was a coolant leak and he had to put 1 gallon of coolant (that's what he told me when I came to get my car) then my vehicle would have overheated already. Worst experience I have ever had in a shop I took my car here because it had come highly recommended, I told him about both an ac problem I had (another mechanic had already looked at it/given me a written estimate and cost breakdown but he is only open when I'm at work which is why I took it elsewhere) and an issue where the break lights wouldn't turn off He said $95 to look at it & do their own diagnostic to give me repair estimate but the $95 could be applied to the repairs which I was fine with I said ok. they took my car keys and my car was parked at the side, I asked them if they could pull the fuse for the break light switch while it was waiting to be looked at so that having the lights on didn't drain the battery and the car wouldn't die before they could get to it (that's what I had to do overnight) and they said no it wouldn't be sitting long ...ok fine they then came back to me about 30-40 minutes later and said well we fixed the break light issue and it will be 600 to fix the ac (a little over 200 less then the last estimate I got. great) I mentioned that my car has a recall issued that is known to cause that problem with the break lights and asked if they needed that recall Information or does that effect the $95 (not paid yet) or anything and asked if that recalled part did happen to be the issue they fixed he said no only the dealership deals with recalls and that they would have run their own diagnostic anyways even with the recall so they're just going to apply the diagnostic charge to the repair they did like discussed before and that would cover it I said ok that's fine they never answered my question about the part I then asked them for a written estimate for the ac repair (so I could keep track of what parts were being replaced and make sure everything from the other estimate was also included on this one or if anything needed to be added) and info for whatever part was fixed for the break light issue which they said they already did, before work was started on the ac. Instead of just a verbal estimate/agreement It was at this point he literally flipped out. Started yelling at me and said no six hundred is six hundred that's the cost you don't need a written estimate take it or leave it. This seemed strange to me because I have never had a mechanic not give me a written estimate to look over and sign before work being started on my car in the past and his anger over me asking was honestly a red flag. And so I said ok well then I'll just go ahead and move forward with the break light issue today and I'll hold off on the a/c. he was coming off aggressive and angry at this point and it made me uncomfortable Then he walked away from me and started yelling something to the other guys in the shop in another language and they went back into my car and then he came back and handed me the keys a few minutes later and said no, I no work on your car take it somewhere else. Leave. I took my keys and went to my car. At this point another man from the shop walked up to my window and said you know 600 is a good price for that work everywhere else will be more expensive. I told him I agreed and that I had no issue at all with the cost I just wanted a written estimate and have it written down for me what work was being done and what parts were being replaced and that I was being told no to having anything written down and so I was going to hold off on the repair. He just shook his head and said ok then and walked away. I got in my car and left. Also the break lights are still on at this point So the break light issue which they said they already fixed is not fixed. so either they didn't actually fix it before like they said they did or whatever they did to fix it they undid when they got pissed that I asked for the estimate To be in Writting I have never had a mechanic get mad when I have asked for a written cost estimate before work gets started. Usually I don't even have to ask for it they just give it to me. So I thought that was super weird and now I'm all upset because some old man yelled at me read more

Very dissatisied as a customer, I have a slightly older car and wanted to see get a smog test but it was about 2hours before closing and they didn't have their setup for the smog station completed so I had to wait for them to update/ recalibrate... on top of that it passed inspection but a hose was left corroded he said 10 dollars to replace I said..... say no more ( thinking he was going to replace the hose) he only pushed it back on while doing so he broke the fitting for the vacuum line next to throttle body. But didn't replace that the hose was probably about -2feet could have been replaced but no it wasn't. Also I realized the car was running weird once I left and as soon as I got around the corner it stalls it once but three time before I decided to pull into the gas station around the corner. I read a review about someone's vehicle stalling and I thought it couldn't happen to me but be careful who you trust to work in your car. Took my car in for a full maintenance after buying a used car. They were upfront, reasonable, efficient and communicative with their services. I've also been here for my smog also for my other cars. They're also down the street from my house so it's very convenient. Tbh it's so hard to find a mechanic that is honest and won't try to upcharge you for unnecessary repairs. I came to the shop for another smog check On a 2002 Camry. I had a recent check engine light, so they verified that the engine computer was ready for the smog check (it wasn't, I had to drive another 50 miles to get the engine computer to "ready" status). Smog check was quick and very reasonably priced at $40 total, including certificate. They also found that the starter needed to be replaced. I had noticed lots of hard starting in the last few months, so I wasn't surprised. Their pricing was very reasonable. $145 for a rebuilt starter with a 1 year warranty. The rebuilt starter part alone was $100-130 at local auto parts stores, so it was well worth it to pay the small labor charge. Finally, the mechanic inspected a power rear window that had stopped working. I picked up the car and it was working, no charge. I've always been impressed with their no nonsense, low pressure explanation of the necessary repairs. This visit was more of the same. I'm a male who knows his way around cars, but I'm happy to report that I witnessed them treat other customers the same way (older female customer with no apparent knowledge of auto mechanics). FWIW, I would send my mother here for car repairs. I usually do most of my own auto repairs and have a decent knowledge of automotive systems so I can tell if mechanics are selling unnecessary repairs and /or parts. Having to renew my registration and a Smog cert required, I was on the search for a Smog certified shop. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers I came across Smog Tech. I called them up and the guy who answered was very helpful and told me a good time to come in and that it would only take about 20 mins. I went there at that time 1pm on a Saturday, I was greeted right away and they had my car ready very quickly. While they where doing the Smog check I was asking about other services they provide, which he told me they do almost all repair aside from transmissions and tires. I then asked about the prices and they are very reasonable. I was getting a great sense that they were trust worthy and were not taking advantage of their customers. That is always the concern with auto mechanics. When I left in under an hour they had completed the Smog check, oil & filter, topped the fluids off, inflated and checked my tire pressure. AMAZING service!!! Everyone there talked to you and kept you informed of everything. Lastly as I was leaving I remembered I had a headlight bulb I hadn't changed yet, I ask Hilton (mechanic) if he wouldn't mind to change it and without hesitation said no problem and changed it. I brought my car in for a smog check and an oil change. Afterward my car stalled out about a block away. I could restart it but it would stall again afterward. I walked back to the garage and asked for a mechanic to look at it. He spent an hour messing with it before saying he wanted me to spend $150 and leave my car overnight for more checking. I told him to forget that. I managed to drive home (left foot braking while always keeping right foot on gas). Next morning all was normal with car. This Mecanic shop is the worst ever. AAA towed my van yesterday around 12:30 pm to their shop Coz it wouldn't start . After few Hours I cam back to Ask about it . First the Mecanic told me that they can't Service My van coz it's to low and hard to fix . And it has fuel pump Issue . I told him that I already paid $230 for the towing coz I trust them and I'll bring him the fuel pump .after 20 min talking to him he finally Agreed to fix it after I'll bring the part for him .(so I don't know why he said he can't fix it in the beginning!) I asked him how much he'll charge me for Labor . He said $350 !! Just to put the part Which normally takes 1 Hour the most !! So he took Advantage of my situation coz my car wouldn't start & I have to Pay for towing Again . I refused to fix it at his shop & called Mobile Mecanic which he charged me only $90 labor to replace the fuel pump ( I provided the Part ) Never ever will go back to this place They don't have faith and they are Taking Advantage + They are super rood people ! read more
