Indeed this aquarium is small. Yet, based on the building size I wasn't expecting it to be any bigger. I have been to this aquarium a few years ago and not much has changed. I find this aquarium to be more of a hands on experience. Here you'll have the opportunity to touch many friendly stingrays, sharks, feed piranhas, gold fish and a huge cat fish. Look online for coupons. We used the Boardwalk Bucks to purchase 2 adult admissions and get 1 child admission free. The whole aquarium took about 20 mins. Behind the cashier there's a long turtle cage. Further down prior to entering there's a photo op area. Maybe using that area to expand the aquarium would be more suitable for more space. We did the aquarium about 8:00pm. Almost all the animals were active and seemed well taken care of. The stingrays were beyond friendly approaching the tank and swimming along. The monkeys kept jumping around and giving my little one a high five. The gold fishes enjoyed their pellets. Furthermore the employees were all friendly.

A cute, little aquarium that's worth the visit! Admission is reasonable at $9. You can also pay to feed animals, but we skipped that. Highlights include petting sharks/sea rays/horseshoe crabs, a special viewing bubble for coti mundi that allows you to get very close up, and alligators. A nice little break from the heat and craziness of the boardwalk!

If you try to get there early, parking is definitely easier and closer to the Zoo entrance. We got there around 1pn and it was starting to fill up. The good news is that zoo parking is FREE and so is the fee to get in. They ask for a donation and we were happy to provide a donation for such a great experience! I can ony imagine the upkeep for a zoo - - the property upkeep and animal care, the workers, etc. There were so many animals that were already out with many more that are starting to be brought back outside since the weather is getting warmer. Don't miss this treat when you're in Cape May - - or make a special trip alone - -it's great for kids and for people any age! The park is very clean, has plenty of rest rooms, food/drink and also a beatiful playground when you first get to the zoo. The only animals we really missed were the Giraffes. I'm sure they were somewhere -- and they dont really like the cold temps - - I'm sure they'll be back as it warms up. They dont like temps under 50 - - i dont blame them. And don't sleep on the reptiles - - the turtles, frogs, snakes and alligators are waiting for you! All in all, we were there for about 2 hours. I would guess when it's more crowded, it may take a bit longer to get through the exhibits. So go now and have fun before Memorial Day gets here. :)

Changing rooms are by the pool. The one is small the other closer to the entrance appears larger. A group can be up to eight people. Depending on the otters you can bring your phones to the pool. They all sound like they have their little preferences. Our two Triton and Poseidon are crazy for hair ties. They really worked at the one lady's tie when they discovered it. They give recommendations regarding the otters and what they do and don't get into. They are curious and generally get into anything and everything. There is a railing they can't reach/climb but if your towels hang low they will try and grab them. 45 minutes of swim and 15 towel off with them. Being October and the end of day it was chilly even though the pool is heated the breeze wicked the body heat pretty quick. They say they don't have the experience below 50F and it is obvious why. To say how much fun it was to spend time with these two is beyond words. They spend time with everybody though they really seemed to like to perch on the one guy there. I had one desperate to get into my bathing suit pockets and tried to get up into my rash guard which was loose on me. Epic cuteness. $200/person. I highly recommend the photo package. The guide is used to taking pictures of them and can much better anticipate where and when to take them. I struggled as I didn't trust to keep my glasses on... no spare pair should they grab them. That was either an extra 10 or 15 and well worth it. This was a birthday present for my daughter and worth every penny and the 4 1/2 hour ride down. I'll call this one bucket list worthy. They have other animals there. A capybara and sloth feeding experiences too. I think it was $15 to walk the park. They do have guided tours for more where they tell all about their animals. The ravens may say 'hey' to you as you leave the otter pool area. Their fennec fox is adorable. I would definitively do this again.

We recently visited Coastal Wild expecting a zoo-like experience based on the variety of animals…read moreadvertised. Unfortunately, the experience was very different from what we anticipated. Many of the habitats appeared small, sparse, and very basic compared to what visitors may expect from traditional zoos or accredited animal facilities. The overall atmosphere felt more like a private animal collection than an immersive wildlife experience. Several species were housed together, the bird enclosures seemed limited in size, and the otter habitat was particularly disappointing. During our visit, veterinary procedures involving a cow were taking place in view of guests, which was unsettling for both adults and children. In my opinion, the pricing was excessive for what was offered. The facility is very small and appears run down in several areas. I do not feel that a self-guided tour is worth $20 per person, and I certainly do not understand how a guided tour is priced at $65 per person. The cost simply did not match the experience provided. I recognize that smaller facilities operate differently than larger zoos, and I appreciate the effort that goes into caring for animals. However, I left feeling more sad than inspired. Instead of enjoying the experience, I found myself feeling sorry for many of the animals and disappointed by the condition and presentation of the facility. Families considering a visit should understand that this is not a traditional zoo experience. I hope the facility invests in improving both the visitor experience and the habitats because the animals deserve environments that showcase them in the best possible way.

Have yourself a fun time at this park!…read more I visited "Storybook Land" with my mother, and 5-year old nephew on a Saturday afternoon on April 26th, 2025. It cost $104.97 for three PreSeason discount tickets. We drove almost two hours from Newark to Egg Harbor Township because we heard great things about this place. It's known for having a fairytale-themed park with lots of creative statues and interactive sets that represent popular fables like "Mother Goose" and "Goldilocks and The Three Bears." The location is smaller than most parks I've been to, which is good for little kids who want to run to every ride. In a span of two hours, my family and I got on everything minus a couple attractions. There is ample parking for cars, and the entrance is bold with its large sign and white and red castle. The park played Disney music, which was soo cute! I remember hearing soundtracks from Mulan, Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid. None of the rides felt too scary for kids, even the roller coasters weren't extreme. There's also rides where kids can feel like they're driving a car, and a train that shows you the entire park. My favorite ride was "Bubbles the Coaster" and "The Rockin' Tug." The only issue with this park are the food selections. The lunch that my family had here wasn't good- at least from the cafe right next to the exit/gift shop; everything from the cheeseburger, french fries, and cookies tasted stale and more on the cold side than the hot side. I wouldn't recommend ordering food here, but everything else was great. I don't think I'll visit again only because it's so far from where I live, but this was a good one-time experience that I was able to have with my family. If you're in the area, I would encourage you to stop by and feel like you're in a magical world!

Despite oppressive heat and pre-lunch hangriness, it was a phenomenal experience! Totally worth it. Our kids loved the salt marsh trail, saw everything from mud fiddler crabs and laughing gulls (in their wild, native habitat, not the beach), but also osprey, purple martins, a snowy egret (or at least it was white), horseshoe crabs, diamondback terrapins, and others, all in their native habitat. It was incredible!! After that, we went inside to see the displays and they had a touch tank. The volunteers are all very accessible to my kids and they loved asking questions! Hermit crabs, clear nosed skate, whelks, and others I can't remember. The fish tanks were filled with fish from the area, all interesting, and mostly unembellished, which is perhaps one of the most phenomenal things about the place. Some places stand on their marketing mostly, this place doesn't have showy displays. It's tactile, up close, and endemic. The roadway with scooters was unique having never seen that at a children's museum before. The fitness exhibits with basketball and baseball were fun. Those tests at the beginning brought me back to the Presidential Fitness test era (IYKYK). The water play area probably was where we spent the most time, but that's always where we do at museums with a water play area. Another cool feature was the hollowed out redwood tree for climbing. The sections toward the back are designed for the youngest visitors but still have some fun stuff-like a mock farmers market and tire shop- for older kids.
