I visited the Atlanta City Aquarium as a birthday gift to myself because I love fish, the ocean, and marine life. Overall, I had a good experience. The admission prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a great place for families with children, but it's also enjoyable for adults who appreciate aquatic life. My only criticism is that the facility could benefit from some renovations and updates. A facelift would improve the overall atmosphere and, in my opinion, could help attract more visitors. Despite that, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational outing. read more

If you want to experience a true tourist trap off the boardwalk, well do I have the place for you. Come on down, or maybe up to the Atlantic City Aquarium (up from the boardwalk). There is literally not much else around here and you will definitely be wasting some time here. I decided to take some time out of my day to come up here for something to do other than on the boardwalk. I shouldn't have wasted the time to walk the distance to come here. It is completely underwhelming. I could blame it on the fact that currently the second floor is vacant of any aquatic resident. As they are undergoing a renovation of sorts. But even with the second floor being open with more exhibits, this place is not worth it. It is a single room of aquariums. That's it. There is some interactive areas where you can touch certain creatures. One being horseshoe crabs. But most of this place is small aquariums with species that are local to the area. Aside from the one big aquarium, there isn't much else to do in the building. The big draw for the big aquarium is the sea turtle...that likes to hide more times than be out and about. When the sea turtle is out and about, everyone rushes to the glass and overwhelms the area. They make you feel like you are getting a deal on admission by making it half off since half the exhibit areas is not open. At $6, I feel like that should be the general admission the whole year, not just during the renovation. Staff were pleasant, mostly. The ones dealing with kids were amazing, the others were as drab as the building. read more

Entry price is incorrect on web page. Their web page says $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for seniors. It says these prices are effective March 2026. We went on 23rd of May 2026 and we paid $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors. Upon entry, we roamed around and looked at fish on display but had no way of telling what we were looking at. Through out the entire aquarium there was not a single sign telling us what the fish were. We ended up using google photo identifier to identify some of the fish. Not a single sign. Don't know if the fish were native or not. To be honest, you do not learn anything by visiting this aquarium. It would take very little effort to make descriptive signs above each window - just printed on paper. And when we left we saw some pamphlets on the desk. They were not given to us when we entered. The pamphlets tell you what is in each window by window number. I noticed the windows are not numbered. The entire experience left us extremely disappointed. We will not be coming back. read more

This is a relatively small aquarium but cute. They have three levels. The third level being the observation deck. The first floor l felt was the best. They also include the gift shop upon entering. I purchased a really cute turtle tee shirt. The admission was cheap. Under $11.00 for adults. If you're a sea animal lover. This would be for you. As 2 adults, my husband and I finished this tiny aquarium in about 20 minutes. It was not crowded, but even despite a windy rainy day, I was surprised that we were not the only crazy people visiting. There are only 2 floors with sea life on it, and the third floor just has showcases of old scuba gear (like the ones on old school scooby doo!!!!) 2nd floor had some reptiles, and even a sugar glider who was sleeping as they are nocturnal... So good luck trying to see that. This is a great place for families with young children to visit, because they will find this place amazing and adventurous. For the older kids and adults with no kids, I recommend it not. I will probably come back years later when I have kids and only because I'm done with the casinos. read more

To see a sand shark is one thing to stroke a sand shark is another. I have been to a few aquariums bit this is the first that I remember that lets you pet theses sandsharks. In Puerto Rico we would feed them from a fenced in controlled area but here they have about ten in a tank for you to touch...nice three floors of sea life. Great location. At an $8 dollar adult admission price, $6 for seniors and $5 for (4-12 ), the Atlantic City Aquarium is a value package if you are interested in learning about marine and other wildlife. A $1 discount coupon can be had on their website and if you are a member of AAA there is also a $1 dollar discount. Groupon sometimes offers 1/2 price admission tickets. On the surface it seems like a children's aquarium exclusively but if you dig deeper adults can also benefit from the many educational opportunities. There are three floors with the top floor being an observational lookout offering panoramic views which all age levels can enjoy. The parking is free and adjacent to the aquarium.There are touch tanks like the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Zone which features horseshoe crabs, sea urchins and whelks, the stingray touch tank has a $2 dollar feeding option at 12 & 3 pm, the Bamboo shark and starfish touch tank and a live Diver Feeding Show on the weekends at 11 am in their 25,000 gallon tank.. The show is interactive in that the audience can ask questions. While the marine life is small and the tanks are at times no larger than what you might find in your local pet shop, the educational value is what you put into it. Don't be afraid to ask the knowledgeable staff about any of the exhibits. I found them to be outgoing and eager to share their knowledge. They have an afternoon live animal handler's show at 2 pm on the weekends.. A variety of questions are answered about the animals presented. This is not the NJ State Aquarium, the Baltimore Aquarium or even the Camden Aquarium but for the cost it offers an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of marine animals and engage in an interactive experience you will not find in much larger aquariums. Another Jersey Beach trip means another trip to the AC Aquarium. The usual good stuff has not changed: * Lots of free parking * Neat dive show in the main tank * The two touch tanks on the 1st floor * The tanks with the horseshoe crabs * The somewhat redesigned ray tank upstairs * The ability to hand feed the rays for $2 per cup of mackerel pieces One slightly negative change is the removal of everything on the 3rd floor. It was cheesy with the collection of diving equipment and the large wooden ship's wheel but having that was better than what's there now which is....nothing. True that it's not big but it's still a very cool alternative to everything else which is in the area and it's obviously a great place to spend an hour or two on days without breaking the bank especially when the weather is less than ideal. The Atlantic City Aquarium is open year round, 7 days a week from 10-5 with the last admission being at 4:30 except for July & August when it's at 5. Admission is currently Adults $10.00, Seniors $7.00, Children $6.00 and Ages 3 & Under are free but only suckers pay that price as there are dollar off coupons all over the place in AC including on the aquarium's website. read more

I will give this place four stars for a few reasons summarized below: 1) Admission is only 8$ and for an extra 2$ you can have a sting ray feeding experience (Good for your buck). Most aquariums are double or triple the value. 2) There are a diverse selection of marine life and forest creatures you can observe. Stingrays, sharks, clown fish, crabs, iguanas, etc. The list goes on... 3) The tanks were a bit dirty but it seriously was not that serious. 4) They have a nice observatory level on the top floor and you have a panoramic view of AC bay. 5) Another plus it is not that crowded and you have plenty of space to move around and enjoy the aquarium. As long as you have the right expectation, this is a great place at a decent price. It's tiny compared to the amazing aquariums in Baltimore or Atlanta, but an entire family gets in here for less than the price of one person's admission at those places. It's outstanding for younger kids who love to touch everything: they can touch sharks, horseshoe crabs, and stingrays. Otherwise, the sea turtle is the star, with other small tank standards like jellyfish, tropical fish, and octopus. We walked out of our hotel to Pacific Avenue and got on a Jitney ($2.25 per person) in about two minutes. It took us to the aquarium. Being from NYC, we expected an open air space with habitats, etc. It's a big, brown building that looks like a house. At ten dollars per adult, it's a spectacular value. We loved the shark touch tank, and the three sizes of horseshoe crabs. The big one likes to sit under the little waterfall and feel the water coming over onto its shell. The littlest one liked to bury itself in the sand. Up on the second floor, there are three stingray touch tanks. Two are small and square, with river rays. The biggest seems to come up the side of the tank when you gently waggle your fingers. The other tank has two, a male and a female. The male seemed to be playing "peekaboo" by covering the female's eyes. Then she turned that table and sat on him (she's much larger). If you are patient and watch, you can see their personalities coming through. Then we saw the big stingray tank. OH EM GERSHWIN! I took so many videos! We were patient and persistent, waiting for the rays (there are several kinds) to get used to us. By the time we were done, there was a certain ray that would go up to my daughter and "puppy dog" -- slide vertically up the side of the tank like a puppy wanting attention. It was so beyond fantastic. That was the highlight of our three day vacation, no doubt about it! There are restrooms on both floors. There is an elevator. We waited for another Jitney for about five minutes when we were done. read more

I visited for a kid's birthday party and it's a cute little aquarium with a beautiful ocean view. This was my first aquarium experience, so I might've been a little more excited than most, but they had two floors with various fish tanks and pools for kids to look in. There were a few areas where you could touch the animals like horseshoe crabs and sting rays. They do a show where one of the staffers goes into a big tank with fish and talks to the kids and tells them facts about the fish. Groupon'd it again . . . 2 tickets for $8 . . . not bad. The aquarium, like others have said, is ideal for kids. 2 stories. They even had an interactive session where all the kids sat down in a circle while one of the "trainers" explained things. I thought that was real cool. However for 2 adults, this place is very mehhhh. Small aquarium, no big sharks, I was able to touch a ray, that was kinda neat. Honestly, the best thing about this place was it was ICE COLD and outside was over 100 degrees . . . so it was a relief to see some fish and cool off. Other than that, the regular price of $8 a head I think it is overpriced and really not worth the value . . . but Atlantic City isn't the most kid friendly town . . . so it does serve as a break for the kids and it is educational. Beats the heavy smoke in a casino. Parking was free and plentiful, and the whole area is real nice, with nice views of the marina and the marina hotels. Several restaurants in the area as well to vibe and grab a bite to eat. Probably 2.5 stars, but I rounded up for educational reasons . . . the only way I go back is if I got kids . . . if it is just adults . . . skip entirely. read more

I love aquariums and this was just depressing. The animals in the touch tanks barely move and there is no staff monitoring them - pretty much allowing kids to do whatever they want. There are rays in these tiny little square boxes with maybe 2 inches of water, like are you kidding me? This facility should not be allowed to operate, the sea life here is not well taken care of. If want to go to an aquarium where the care for rescued sea life (with the hope of release) drive to Baltimore, MD or Virginia Beach, VA. Don't waste your $10 here, unless you're going to rescue one of these poor sea creatures from their hell. read more

This is 100% one of the most disappointing aquariums I've ever been to. It's also the only aquarium I've ever been to that has a tarantula on display. There is very little here and I wouldn't complain if the prices were reasonable but they weren't, we paid $10 per person (adults) to go in. We were told that there were 3 floors of attractions when really there was two, as the third floor seemed like a storage room with the worlds most mediocre look out point. The second floor had some descent attractions like the little stingrays you could pet, interesting turtles, and some snakes. The first floor didn't have anything special other than some horseshoe crabs and a sea turtle. Half of the room was takin up by the front desk and a makeshift gift shop next to it. This is definitely something I'd recommend to a child with a short attention span but for an adult? Save your money. read more

Very small aquarium. You can see everything in about an hour. However, there was a lot of great facts about each animal displayed that was fun to read and learn. You can also touch many of the animals from the horseshoe crab to some of the sharks and sting rays. Only 2 floors of creatures. It is relatively small and old looking, and you aren't going to find any sea world type dolphins, whales, and massive sharks at this place. I have a really good time here this past weekend. It turns out that if you have a AAA membership you get a discount on the ticket price. Some of the tanks are petting friendly, YES you can touch the animal which makes for a very memorable experience. For a small aquarium they had a nice selection of turtles (different kinds), rays, snakes, a chinchilla, fishes and other sea critters. My favorite was a giant grey turtle they brought out for a live show. He walked around pretty quickly for a turtle. They also brought out a chinchilla which was SOOOO ADORABLE!! The only downside was that we couldn't pet the animals they brought out, but they did show them off so I had a good look at that cute creature. read more

This is a really cute aquarium! Much smaller than Camden but it has a nice variety of sea animals & you can feed the stingrays at 3pm for $2! Admission is cheap ($5 kids $8 adults) and there is printable coupons. The whole Back Bay area is cute with craft stores and gardens. You can hit up the Back Bay Pub for lunch when your done. Some of the tanks are unfortunately unlabeled and there isn't much staff to ask questions about the marine life. It was perfect for our 1.5 yr old's first aquarium/museum type visit. 1st floor has lots of tanks with many different fish. 2nd floor has a stingray touch exhibit and some reptile and amphibians. 3rd floor had s few small science type exhibits and a beautiful deck/overlook with great views! We had a really nice day away from the casino. We did. About 2 hours there including feeding baby a snack. It's a small place, but great old school family fun.
