The next question inevitably flowing through you must be some variation of "why?" Well that answer is not as simple, my dear reader. Well yeah I didn't either until yesterday, now I'm really finna turn it up on these reviews. Imagine how good a Yelpie would look on my mantle right next to my 8th grade basketball CYO pre-season tournament MVP, which is my crowning achievement to date. 2) This park is right across from my place and it's honestly SICK. It is covered in greenery and there is also a small little amphitheater-like seating arrangement. During the week it's a great place to come mellow out, smoke a CBD joint (allegedly), or just read a book. On the weekend there will be little cookouts (I have yet to be invited to one but I remain optimistic), concerts, or just cool, niche events. A lot of culture in and out of La Plaza Cultural. Hahaha see what I did there? 3) I just have a lot, and I mean A LOT, of fun writing things. I've been thinking a lot about my mortality lately, and just think it'd be cool to have family and friends read these if I ever die young. If you're fortunate enough to be invited to an event it's a beautiful building. I can see an aerial view from my apartment window. I've taken photos of the sculptures that are at the entrance. It's such a beautiful architectural work. The details are fascinating. It's sad the mural that I photographed on May 1st, 2018 is gone. There's currently a Black and White of a Woman Holding up her fist on that wall. It's sad when my favorite murals are removed. I'm so glad I took my photos! I highly recommend you visit to get your photos before the artwork is gone.

You can access it via a tucked away escalator or you can take stairs between the wings of the building. In 2005, the Elevated Acre had a redesign of the plaza. The remodel included adding additional gardens, more seating, a tiered amphitheater, a promenade overlooking the East River, varied landscape elements, and better access with the escalators and stairs. The elevated acre is easy to miss. The entrance is discrete and without knowing the stairs or escalator could lead up to this beautiful garden. Every time I went up to the Elevated Acre, it was so quiet and serene. Amid the skyscrapers in the Financial district, this is a great location to escape to. The plaza features landscaped gardens, benches, and plantings. The other side is more open with a lawn, terrace and a amphitheater. You can view the East River, Brooklyn Bridge, and Brooklyn from the Elevated Acre. You can come here for lunch, or evening events! The elevated acre does host outdoor movies, performances and gatherings! The varied topography helps to buffer the street noise too! It's generally open daily with hours in the morning to the night. There is a few restaurants near Elevated Acre like Patsy's Pizzeria & Bar. This is such a great area and a must visit if you're in the Financial District in New York City!

NWS hosts events and gatherings for women and trans/gender non conforming individuals. Many of the events are geared toward empowering and educating women. This includes events on financial literacy, sex positivity, women in comedy, educational panels, career networking nights, and more. Thought I've only attended events a couple times, I keep tabs on this place because the work they do means so much to me. I'm so glad there's a space here where women and trans/gender nonconforming people can call home and put on events or showcase their art. This is important because the numbers show that often these people don't get their work displayed, shared, or supported as often, be it in the mainstream or otherwise. I can tell NWS puts a lot of thought into their content and it means a lot. To me,5$3 space looks to build a woman who is personally and professionally successful, empowered, and committed to lifting others up as well. Please note that the space the entirely volunteer-run. You can also obtain membership, which I believe allows you discounted access to the space during open visit hours and at events, as well as discounts at some pretty cool partner spaces. Membership is $25 a year, which is nothing if you consider the offerings and what competitors may charge. I'm not sure I can think of any direct competitors, nonetheless, NWS is absolutely worth your time and support.

This place is it. New Women Space serves as more than just a venue, but a community in which womyn can provide support for one another. It also is a place for womyn to safely and comfortably let their creativity emerge and grow. From coworking hours to meditation to book clubs, this space is all-encompassing and 100% welcoming to all. I recently went to New Women Space for a self care faire that was so insightful! Everyone there was incredibly nice and accommodating. I'm looking forward to joining their mailing list to see what other awesome events they have coming forward. If you're ever in search of a place that's free of judgement and full of positive energy, definitely consider making a visit!

The new large screen for the FIFA games has really added something special. Seeing people gathered together watching Switzerland play Colombia, cheering for their teams and enjoying the excitement of the game, made the whole place feel alive. I also noticed the new games and activities for both children and adults, which is such a nice touch. It makes the Winter Garden feel even more welcoming and gives families, friends, and visitors another reason to spend time there. What I love most about this place is how it changes with every event and season. The beautiful palm trees create such a unique atmosphere, and I've enjoyed coming here for The Nutcracker during the holidays, the Lunar New Year celebrations, and many times simply to relax and spend time with family and friends. Every visit feels different. The surrounding area makes it even better. Having places like Le District nearby, along with cafés and shops offering crêpes, ice cream, coffee, and pastries, makes it easy to stay and enjoy the experience. The mix of restaurants, cafés, and stores, including luxury shops like Louis Vuitton, adds to the feeling that there is always something new to discover. A big thank you to the staff and everyone who works behind the scenes to make these experiences happen. Their effort is what helps create such a welcoming place where people can come together. Wong, New York Times reporter Jennifer 8 Lee, former Poet Laureate of Queens Ishle Yi Park, and others. Featuring southern exposure along three giant windows, eight stylish hanging lamps and hardwood floors, the space is an approximately 600 square feet loft space that can safely accommodate 75 guests. The space also features access to two restrooms, a break-room kitchen, Internet access, a doorman, a freight elevator, folding chairs, sound system, lighting, TV, DVD, screen, and VCR. The space has been newly designed thanks to a collaboration with Parsons The New School of Design, Design Within Reach Annex, and Tug Studios's Goil Amornvivat, the star of Bravo's Top Design and TLC's Trading Spaces. Parsons students spent a semester designing new interiors for the Workshop as their class project. Consequently, our location has been newly painted and features brand new furniture by Design Within Reach Annex.
