Do not use this company! First of all, they are not Sears. This company is actually A & E Factory Services. I chose them due to the Sears name, the way it is listed on Google, We had a technician out to diagnose the problem with our Jenn-air stove. He stated that we needed new control board. We paid up front for the part and labor. When it did not solve the problem we immediately contacted A & E. After many hours and numerous phone calls they finally sent out a second technician This second technician stated that the first tech had mis-diagnosed the initial problem. That the repair required a different part. And it would cost us several more hundred dollars, plus labor, to be paid before they would order the new part. We declined, paying out more money, so the tech left. So, despite the fact that their invoice stated that we had a 30 day guarantee now we are out $713.98. read more

Under no circumstances should you use this company. I was charged $700 for a repair that didn't work (the technician didn't even look at the washer/dryer and just ordered the most expensive replacement part that didn't fix the issue), and when I tried to get a refund I was hung up on by multiple customer service representatives. Then they flagged my phone number so that I couldn't connect with a real human customer service representative. I was given an incorrect email address, and then waited 2.5 weeks for a response, denying my refund request with no explanation. Then they told me that the technician had written "sweetheart" in my notes, which is demeaning and dismissive and has sexual undertones that are entirely inappropriate. $700 down the drain, my washer/dryer is still broken, and I've been treated horribly by about 50 customer service representatives. A dryer repair was scheduled for today. An email from Sears claims the service man called but we were not at home. But we were home. He did not ring the doorbell or telephone. He left no notice at our address. Perhaps he went to the wrong address though the service sheet has the correct address and phone numbers. Calling Sears is impossible. All numbers lead to the same recorded voice which offer no way to talk to a human being. The website also offers no way to reach a real person. This is a terrible way to run a business. read more

The lady told me it would be 119 for the service call I agreed to that she said that would go towards my repair and parts that needed to be replaced The Guy arrived at 8 o'clock he was finished by 820 he did not replace any parts and charged us $359 for a basically a total of 10 minutes of work and that was just tightening up some screws on the drum and then left They are a rip off that is not what they told me on the phone and they are very dishonest and I would never recommend them again!! read more

Update on my situation. After three days I finally got ahold of the supervisor of repair department who only offered to rebook my appointment. I have to stress this: you cannot have an employee show up, take a pic of your door and leave without knocking calling or dining the door bell and expect me to be happy about a "rebooking". They were sent out by Cinch Home Warranty to check on a gas smell problem. The guy who showed up reeked so badly of cigarette smoke it was impossible to smell anything other than him. He walked around for a minutes, said everything seemed fine, and then left. GAS IS INVISIBLE. You can't diagnose much less fix a gas-related issue by looking at it. Holy moly. Cinch refused to send out anyone else or refund my deductible, so both Cinch and Sears made out like bandits by doing absolutely nothing. Nice. read more

Very knowledgable and quickly diagnosed the problem. Amounted to a kink in the drain hose. Once straightened, the problem was solved.

After three appointments over 10 days my dishwasher still doesn't work. You can't even an appointment when you tell me that they'll be there between 7am to 6 pm halt your whole day for them only to get there at 8:30 pm for 2 of the 3 appointments. Only for him to lie and say that he tested it. You can't test the dishwasher without having dirty dishes in it so just turning on and the lights coming on doesn't mean that the thing cleans dishes. read more

Missed the technician doorbell ring (was in the restroom), but ran outside and caught him still parked outside. He looked up and saw me, phone in hand, but drove off anyway. I called and texted the number he gave me and no reply. Attempted to call dispatch, but he refused to return and could not reschedule until the following day. Zero stars or less! Technician came to see why my washer wasn't working. Said I needed a new cold water intake valve as mine wasn't letting the cold water in. Had to pay for part and labor to install it up front. Later on found out the cold water had been turned off and no new part was needed. Shouldn't that have been "Washing Machine Repair 101"?? Plugged in...check; water turned on...nope. Turn it on...problem solved! I called the technician to cancel part and get refund. Two weeks later still no refund! Sears came out over 12 times to fix an ice maker. I find out months later that we were eligible for a new refrigerator. The price they gave us was not even close to what a new refrigerator would be. Icing on the cake: every refrigerator that would fit was NOT AVAILABLE for delivery in our area (live in the Baltimore/Washington DC area). The OVERPRICED refrigerator that was finally ordered (with an additional close to $1000 to pay) could not even be delivered when they said it would. I tried calling for 2 weeks to the delivery department and was told that delivery needed to be rescheduled--but oh wait!!!---their systems were being upgraded and I was told that all would be working to schedule a delivery that Friday; that Friday passed, then the next week it was always 'On Friday'. 3 weeks later I was being told the same thing. I am cancelling this order, and guess what???? I'm getting the same refrigerator from Home Depot for $800 less. The people that came out kept replacing the SAME parts on numerous visits. I set an appointment for my LG washer/dryer combo. 1st tech made wrong diagnosis and failed to inform me that the part, (the wrong one) was being sent directly to me. After scheduling issues by Sears I got another technician. John the was knowledgeable to the point where he realized the 1st tech made the wrong diagnosis and he was able to quickly rectify that. Once the proper part arrived and after the company caused multiple scheduling issues he finally came and completed the work with a positive and professional attitude. This was much appreciated especially after so many issues with the company, especially with the lack of being able to speak to a person. I doubt I will use Sears again since there is no way to rectify the trouble they caused me since the people I finally reached after much effort on my part still had no power to make amends. The answer to my problem was to transfer me back to auto call limbo which caused me to make additional call backs to no avail.
