- Avoid this company at all costs. They require pre-payment for repairs but fail to deliver. After they took my money, my appointment was unilaterally rescheduled by their automated system multiple times without my consent. Their customer service is a "never-ending call loop" where it is impossible to reach a human. Most shockingly, they have now fraudulently claimed to have completed the repair when I actually had to hire a different company to finish the job. Dishonest practices and zero accountability. - They are committing fraud and do not even have the decency to talk to you about it or answer their phone call. This should be a red flag that you can't even contact them. They sent fraudulent documentation to my credit card company as well stating they performed the service. I have reported them to the NC attorney generals office. No one came today for my appointment with Sears Home Services. I have house cameras all over the outside of my house and have been home all day. But they closed my service request and updated the ticket to say "unit powered on and functioning normally." That is impossible. No one actually made contact with me today, no one entered my home, and no one performed any inspection today, yet still documented the service as completed and closed my warranty request. A Sears Blue van did sit at the top of my driveway for about 15 minutes but just left. The breaker box to my HVAC/furnace has been turned off since 10/15 to avoid damaging the unit. And my Nest thermostat confirms there is no R/C power running to the unit. There is no way the unit powered on and functioned. No operational test was actually performed today. It is going to be 39 degrees this weekend. I need heat for my family ASAP. No update was communicated to me before my service ticket was closed. I have been in circles with Sears Home Services and Sears Home Warranty chatbots and automated voice recordings all day with no firm answer. When will we get our unit fixed and have heat? read more

the only good thing about tho experience was that he was on time. before taking it apart, he concludes it was the rubber gasket around the door. (turns out it wasn't - bit I thought it was too wanted to charge me over $320 for two parts that costs on avg $100 total. $206 for the gasket ($59 on amazon and $90 on sears parts website). $116 for the wire that goes around the gasket ($24 on amazon and $42 on sears parts website) I refreshed to be taken advantage of by his inflated prices. At this point if I could give ZERO stars, I would. Our oven broke and a technician came to look at the problem. He had to order a part and scheduled to come back December 24th. I started getting automated messages to reschedule a few days before our appt. Strange. I called and they said the service showed fulfilled? But NO ONE came out and we still had the part. We had to reschedule. This time they gave us 12/31. The day comes and we are waiting around all morning and I received a text saying they are rescheduling! What?!!! Reschedule AGAIN! They are supposed to come today and around noon, I get a text saying they are rescheduling for 1/22! Completely unreliable! I called for refrigerator repair and, surprise, the repair person was from Appliance Pro. He was a pleasant young man. He stated he had been in the US for two weeks. He went to work and promptly said that the compressor was bad and required replacement--quote: $1,500. I said "no thanks." He then continued to work and talked for about 20 minutes with a collegue via FaceTime. He concluded that the gas component was poor and that he could provide a re-charge of the gas for $250--but no warranty. I said OK. The gas worked for 48 hours. Important: The compressor was NOT bad; there was a leak in the system. He did not have the equipment to find the leak. Recommendation: DO NOT CALL SEARS APPLIANCE REPAIR read more

Let me start by saying that the technician is 5 stars. However the customer service from Sears Home Services is less than a 1 star. I have tried for 2.5 months to get our stove fixed. They have sent out the same technician each time even though they have put a note on our service from stating we need a 1099 contractor (specialist). I have spent hours on the phone and when I finally do reach a human they assure me "next time it will be right or we will replace it". So Saturday again they assigned the same technician and as it was Saturday I could not reach a human. So no service, and I'm sure when I call tomorrow I will be given the same answer. Sears Home Protect is a scam and I have never received worse customer service. We are now having to pay to have someone not associated with Sears to come fix our stove. read more

This is more of a review on Sears then the tech. I purchased a Kitchen Aid induction cooktop from Sears 5 years ago. Two of the eyes stopped working. I contacted Sears for service and provided Sears with the model number. When the tech arrived, I was told the parts were not available for my cooktop and he would not be able to repair it. So Sears charged me $119 to tell me they can not support a product I purchased from Sears. Why did they request the model number in advance? Why do they not service an appliance I purchased 5 years ago? And why do I need to pay $119 for poor service? Not sure if I will ever purchase from Sears again. read more

Sears Protection Plan is a rip off. you pay more than $600 a year and still have to pay labor and parts. If you dont hire them to do repair you pay $100+ for diagnosis. In additions appointments are hard to get and half the time they don't show up. read more
