Was scheduled between 8am-5pm to come look at my dishwasher. I was out of town on the west coast so I was going to have my friend let them in but I woke up at 5am to stay by the phone and wait for the call. At 3pm in Raleigh, I had not recieved a call so I finally got a hold of someone on the chat box(their phone number online didn't even work). they said no one was available that day to come out. Did I mention this was also my birthday?! So I was up at 5am and sat by the phone all day when they didn't even have anyone available to come. I wouldn't bother with this company again. read more

The service technician arrived at the time he said he would, having called ahead to yell me. He immediately he died the parts sent to my house to make sure they were the correct ones. He then hot to work removing the microwave from over the stove. He completed his work in a timely manner and explained all the checks he put it through to insure it's proper function. read more

The guy that was supposed to fix my air gap issue came in November after he told me to unplug my fridge for 24 hours... he walked in, I asked a question and he went back out to his his car to call someone and then LEFT without telling me he was leaving and without ever touching my fridge. Not only the diagnosis wasn't made, the technician left without saying to the renter and contacting me. In addition, I was still charged for the service that was not provided. On top of all this, I was assured by a customer rep (I believe his name is Leon) on Jan 26th after being on the call for 17 minutes that I would not be charged. He also advised to call my bank for dispute which I did. I was still charged again by Sears. I called back again only for another bad customer service. Having multiple rental units around town, I have my trust on Sears shattered to trust their service. Still waiting on a resolution from Sears before legal action. read more

Beware. We have had the Sears warranty for appliance repairs for years. Now they are trying to be all automated in requesting a repair which is very irritating when you have to actually speak to a human. Sears sent someone to repair my washer and they charge me a monthly fee already and then now a 75$ deductible. Then they send someone to repair my washer which was just grinding. They have to come back to replace the pump and when I go up after they leave there seems to be a bit of water by the washer. I thought oh they just replaced the pump So maybe it's left over water .... Not true. Once I did a load of wash there was water everywhere. I spent 30 Minutes sucking up water and taking buckets to my tub to drain. Then I call Sears and there is no representative until the next morning. Then I finally get a person who tells me that I have to wait FOUR days to get someone to fix what THEY broke. This is ridiculous! So needless to say. I'll be cancelling their repair contract and moving on. It's horrible customer service and the policy of putting me at the back Of the list Not to mention the customer service representative, a supervisor , couldn't even say she was sorry for my bad experience. Do yourself a favor. Call a local repair company and get the customer service you deserve !! read more

This is a one star rating only because 0 or a negative number wasn't an option. Potentially not so much the technicians fault but the repaired unit did not work properly so we scheduled another appt. No one showed, no one called. It's almost impossible to speak with anyone on the phone and when you do, they transfer you only to either be routed back into the options menu or be disconnected. After another two hours on the phone I was finally able to schedule another appt only to receive an email that the appt was moved to the next day. No phone call, no anything. Although the technician was personable, my repaired freezer died twice which cost me a bundle in discarded food and three additional days of twiddling my thumbs wondering if anyone was actually going to show up. On the day they did, I received calls from two different technicians saying they'd be at my home at different times. There is zero communication to the home owner nor evidently between techs and supervisors. Don't walk - run!!! read more

I was the recipient of Sears' very poor service 4 months ago and posted a long review. Today, 4 months later, I am notified that there is a response. When I go to read the response, it is the same canned response that is given to all the other one star reviews. I read all the reviews and except for two lucky people, it was just a series of bad, terrible, subpar, never again, do not call, etc. -- all of which I agree with! The appliance I had so-called repaired was my dishwasher. After four visits and four months later, it is still full of sludge and my dishes never get clean. But I am reluctant to reach out to my home warranty company again in case they assign the same repair company, namely Sears, again. And that experience, dear readers, I will NOT go through again. I would rather replace the dishwasher at full price than deal with this repair company again, ever, on any basis, for any reason. If I worked for this company, I would try to be sick on the day they made everyone stand in front of the truck to take photos and look like they're proud to be there. (This is a postscript to the review here. I just looked and saw this review show up instantly on the YELP site, and just as instantly, one of the canned responses followed it. no options to talk with a live person was big turn off for us. i called for dishwasher repair. i was told parts had to be ordered from china and tech would pick them up at ups. to my surprise parts were sent to my address. it took 2 weeks to begin job. no way to talk to live agent or tech to ask questions about parts misunderstanding. when my tech did return, he had to get another part which he ordered on the phone and left to pick up. he was back within the hour and finished the job. evidently he did not have to go to china. at ant rate, dishwasher seems to be working again so glad about that, and we did save money i guess. 2 week turnaround seems iunreasonable however. we will keep plan for now, another experience like this however may make us rethink our choices going forward. read more

Sears is using contractor a&e factory services co. Technician came didn't do any $89 analysis (1st step to assess and provide repair cost - if applicable), immediately told me that using dishwasher pucks is bad (before even touching the dishwasher). Jumped into repair, told me all good and wrapped up, same error, same issue reappeared. Did the same work 3 times (started to be uneasy), finally told me all good packed up in hurry, charged me $300 and left. Dishwasher leaked all over kitchen (problem even worse than before his visit). I called in and rescheduled follow up visit. Nobody bothered to come (they auto rescheduled 3 times to no avail, just pushing out and out), had to call someone else, told me dishwasher is unrepairable (the previous tech likely screwed this up), so had to go and purchase brand new dishwasher. Sears and a&e never bothered to come fix it or refund my money. Very bad and unprofessional service, tech not decent enough to say appliance not repaired or admit that repairing it 3 times over and over while charing time. $300 wasted + new dishwasher + new tech to install it and headache for days to come. Don't use Sears Roebuck appliance repair services (unable to even speak with anybody, all automated, no call back, no follow up after bad service, just "stealing" the $300 and further breaking my appliance), Don's use use a&e factory service co. - I have never seen worse level of service. Stay away from Sears Appliance Service and even more so from a&e factory service co. I had absolutely horrible experience and so much headache here on absolutely shady and unprofessional service incl. customer service by both companies. read more

What a horrible experience. I had an appointment between 10-2 and no one called me. After it got to 1:30 I called them and was told they were on there way. By2:35 I called again and they said my appointment was between 2-3 and they were on there way. This was not true as I have an email stating the times. Needless to say they did not show up after 4 more calls. The final call I was told the tech had gone home and he had come by and there was no answer. The problem with that is my whole house with motion sensors and cameras. Including the new ring system. You get with in 20 feet of my house I would know it as it calls my phone. Not to mention I was home with the car in drive way. I hate being lied too. I called another repair company and my problem was fixed in two hours. Bottom line. Don't waist your time and this is another reason this company deserves to go bankrupt and close. I will never call again. read more

Terrible experience. Called first for a clothes washer problem. First technician came for the diagnosis but only diagnosed one of the problems. When the second tech came he found a second problem. Each tech ordered parts and made estimates. This extended the repair time for over 2 weeks. Trying to deal with the appointments was a nightmare and using the call numbers resulted in speaking to multiple people, all of whom could not directly help and transeffered me to different people (in one case a total of 5 people for one problem and over an hour and a half on the phone). All the folks that tried to help were hard to understand given their accent, and on one call, the person continually kept saying "my system is working very slowly today so I cant get to what we want." The "estimate" given by the tech was a verbal estimate but never included a breakdown of costs. It was only after agreeing to the estimate that I got (several days later) a breakdown of cost. The techs spent a very short time fixing the problem, but charged what I believe was an inccredible amount for "labor". The labor was 3 times the cost of the parts and no hourly labor charge was given in the "estimate'. I will never deal with SEARS again. After all the appointments, we finally got the problems fixed (Tooke over a month) and today, after the final appointment yesterday, I received a phone message that "tomorrow's" appointment has been confirmed. I also had a coupon sent from SEARS for a $50 reduction. The tech at first said it wasn't acceptable, but did in fact try to record it, and got a confirmation that t went through. Sears is the worst for scheduling appointments, communication, customer service and technician service!! I had the worst overall experience with Sears that I can't tell it all. One of my issues was; Sears scheduled for a technician to come to my house on a FRIDAY between the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM to service my AC unit. After cleaning off my entire schedule for that day, the technician calls me at 4:16PM ON A FRIDAY to tell me he can't make it. He had a bigger issue. I called Sears on hold for 46 minutes and the customer service reps say I can reschedule you for next week. Not concerned about the full day I WASTED. I called service technician back and told him to have his supervisor call me immediately. Supervisor said he would send someone out. Technician gets there unplugs my AC Unit and tells me that I cant use the Unit for more than 48 hours, and then it would take him a week to return. LETS SAY THIS I FOUND A HVAC SPECIALIST ON SATURDAY, he came out filled my AC unit with FREON. Working perfectly! The sears technician had to have been on a time constrained and probably didn't want to deal with me so late in the day (around 6:30PM) and plus I definitely wasn't happy. He could've rectified the issue the same day, if he wanted to. IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME FIND A INDEPENDENT COMPANY in your local area. This review is for Sears Home Services in general, as I don't know if my service was handled out of Durham or Raleigh. Regardless, absolutely one of the worst customer experiences I can recall. Appointment for my just-out-of-warranty Kenmore dishwasher was 1-5PM. Tech called at 4:25 to say he was on the way. He showed up at 5:40, no apology. He then diagnosed the problem for the $79 fee I'd agreed to, and added another $190 for the repair, which took about 20 minutes. So this appointment was now cost me $269. on a, when new, dishwasher that was $610. I tried calling SHR and after several attempts and getting the run-around, was told that there was nothing that could be done, the price was the price, and too bad. NEVER USE THESE FOLKS. THEY'RE A RIP-OFF. No wonder Sears itself went out-of-business. read more

We had an appointment today between 10am-2pm for someone to come and repair our washing machine. When 2:00 came and no one had called or showed, we called. They told us that he was "in route" to us. It is now 7pm and no one ever showed up or called. We've called Sears several times to find out where this repairman is and why hasn't anyone showed up or bothered to call, which they told us in one of our phone calls that this repairman was going to call us- he never did. After being lied to and put on hold for what's added up to be hours at this point.... I couldn't post a rating with zero stars because it wouldn't let me. They are truly a horrible, worthless company and I am not surprised at all that they are losing business. They've definitely lost ours for life! read more

Scheduled service on my Maytag Washer. Repair Tech came to the house and ordered a Motherboard to fix the problem. Motherboard came to the house and a few days later the same repair guy came to the house and installed the motherboard. The repair Tech did no testing on the machine after part was installed. First load we ran the machine did not complete the cycle. Left the softener in the bin but took the other liquids. I had the lid open and up and the machine began to operate in the drain cycle. I scheduled another service on the washer and the same Tech was suppose to come 9/3/2019. He was to come between 1Pm and 5 PM. We checked with him around 4PM and he told us it would be after 6PM. At that point I told him to be prepared to run a test on his repair. He told me could not guarantee fix especially if he needed to order parts. I told him should not need to order more parts since he was just here and already had ordered a motherboard. He said I was demanding and the appointment was rescheduled by the Technician for a different Tech to come in a couple more days. I bought the extended warranty and I expect a knowledgeable repair person to come to my house diagnose the problem order parts if needed and return once the parts deliver and install and run a test to make sure before he closes the call the unit is fixed. If the repair Tech can reschedule a service call because he thinks the customer is very demanding then he should seek another job. You cannot get anyone to provide the service manager or Supervisors name and number to discuss these issues. I recorded the unit running with the lid opened and the softener tray with liquid still in it after the machine had shut down so if the next repair guy tells me no error codes then he can review the video. I think they shoot in the dark when it comes to repairing a machine and they cannot figure out why it will not run like it is suppose to. read more
