Our furnace started over heating, smoke & a burning smell was coming out of our vents so I scheduled an appointment with Choice Home Warranty. While we waited for an appointment my husband took the cover off & checked to see if the filter was dirty but it wasn't so he closed it then the blower started working fine. Then Sears showed up a few days later & noticed the limit switch was missing & had to order it & rescheduled to come back in 5 days. 15 minutes after he left the burning smell & smoke started coming back out the vents again setting off our smoke alarm. I immediately called the Tech Ottis to let him know & his response was he already closed the ticket & wasn't coming back until Friday. So we were without heat from Monday to Friday & had to use space heaters. I was not happy about it at all since the heat was working before he came but once he came back Friday morning he fixed it & we've had no problem. Ottis is very friendly & knowledgeable. Just awful, DO NOT USE THEM! Had a technician come out, diagnosed the problem and said he had to order the part. I was told it would be in within 24 hours and they would be back in the morning. My appointment got moved, then got moved again, 5 days from now!? I called to cancel but they do not have any human customer service, only bots. So now I have to fight the $129 charge just for them coming out.....but I have no idea how to do that because I cannot actually speak to anyone. read more

Update: I realized I did not provide an update since Sears commented on my review stating they wanted to speak on next steps. I reached out to the phone number and, shockingly, it was AI only and a human being was unavailable. No call back happening from there. The website led to the ability to leave them an email. Weeks later, no response. Big surprise, now that Sears has my money, they couldn't care less that they ruined my floor and caused me to have to call a furnace repair company. If they cared, they have my number and could have called me instead of posting a publicly facing response as an attempt to make it appear they care. What a waste of time! In spite of showing the technician a video of the problem, he was unable to do anything about it because he "couldn't replicate it ". The dryer sheets sometimes get caught under the lint trap housing. That's not supposed to happen. Fix it! Additionally, get rid of your damn AI and hire real people to talk to. I described the problem in detail repeatedly to the AI bot so the tech would "have the necessary parts " with him to fix the problem and avoid a callback.The tech's first question to me: "what's wrong with your dryer?" Really? I must also mention that while it worked out ok, he arrived outside of the time window I notified AI bot about multiple times in setting up the appointment. Totally ignored! read more

Still no dishwasher after 6 weeks and at a bajillion phone calls. They agreed to replace the unit because it was taking so long on the repair with no guarantee that they could fix it and then today after calling them multiple times they have sent an email stating they voided the replacement due to an error and marked the service as complete. I still have a totally dead dishwasher And to top it all off the CSR hung upon me when I asked for their supervisor. This is not right!! The part was three times what it is online in addition to the inflated labor. That's crazy. My LG refrigerator/freezer had its compressor stop working. LG recommended Sears who came out and found it is the compressor and the service agent talked to LG and found it is on warranty. LG Emailed Sears 3 times but the repair people did not get a notice of this and the compressor was not ordered. I talked to LG 4 times and they referred me to a phone number for Sears that is AI only. I talked to the Sears. Home Warranty people 3 times and they could not see if the emails had been received. They are great until they get your money - then they disappear. We called for a refrigerator repair. Technician came during the service window and diagnosed the problem. We had to order parts. As soon as the parts came in, they were prompt in scheduling a technician to install them. All good. The refrigerator stopped working 2 days later. They scheduled someone to come out the next day. No show. They scheduled someone the next business day. Another no show. FIVE days in a row, no shows. STILL WAITING. STILL NO WORKING REFRIGERATOR. Canceled a service 3 times after calling me, texting me, and emailing me to make certain I would be available from 8am to 5pm just to not show up! I was threatened that if they made the service call and I didn't cancel 24 hours in advance I would be charged! What about the 3 days I had to be home! They never repaired my fridge but ordered parts that had to be returned. They then threatened to charge me for those parts! They sent UPS to pick them up and I am still getting texts and emails threatening to charge me! I only chose 1 star because I couldn't post with 0! Bloomington Indiana. Mitchell was GREAT, very nice and professional - hence 2 Stars. We were charged nearly $300 for labor for a repair only took 20 minutes to replace part. I get it, travel time, but this is outrageous!! Then, $151 for a part that we could get online for $40 or so. Went ahead w/ fix because the color of the washer has been discontinued, couldn't be replaced, and figured once repaired we'd be GTG. WRONG!! .After a month the problem came back, Called CS and told since it was day 35, their 30 day warranty 'expired', so we'd have to make a new appointment. And then they tried to upsell a home warranty. NOPE! We will buy a new washer for about $100 or so more than it will cost us to have this one repaired!! This is STUPID!! The seal/gasket on our Kenmore Refrigerator first began to fail (creating a seal/leak issue) in December of last year. What should have been a relatively straightforward process of calling, explaining the problem, having someone there order the part and send a technician to install it has turned into A SIX MONTH NIGHTMARE of various failures of basic customer service. Some highlights: -- Hours spent on the phone to talk to someone, only to be repeatedly pushed onto an 'AI Customer Specialist' who just as frequently cancelled appointments for repairs as it made them. -- Technicians arriving without the part because they were told it was mailed to us. As you may see in an earlier review (re: Abib), the technicians were consistently wonderful, but powerless to deal with mismanagement and incompetence from their home office. -- A replacement eventually mailed to us that was so damaged and filthy that the technician wouldn't/couldn't install it. -- MULTIPLE No-shows by various repair staff. -- NO ONE FROM SEARS WILLING TO GET ON THE PHONE AND HELP US SOLVE THIS. Even though we paid for the service contract, we are now seeking third-party OEM parts and technical help because of how utterly useless Sears and their affiliates have been at every turn. We are also beginning to look at legal options regarding not only the loss of time and money, but possible breach of promise regarding the service contract we signed and paid for. If anyone, like us, thought that Sears stands for what it stood for in our youth...STAY AWAY. Buy your appliances LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Did not check temperature at furnace, also did not check temperature at vent. Came in my home after 1 hour said your compressor is and we cannot fix it. Seriously as I already stated it is 89 in home at 2:42 June 24th. Also Choice Home Warranty is still waiting for a diagnosis. It has been since June 17th that he was here. They called me at 5:00 to say they weren't going to make it, but if I called Wednesday morning, they would see if they could squeeze me in.....by Wednesday afternoon they hadn't called me back, but had scheduled me for Thursday afternoon....and failed to show up for that. Appointment is scheduled from 8-5 because people don't have things to do except wait around for a tech to come and not fix anything. Tech showed up at 2:30 to fix my A/C. He looked at the furnace and I had to point out the water in the drip pan that we had to empty days prior because it was over flowing. Said he needed to go outside and check the A/C unit. Sprayed some cleaning solution on it and tried to rinse it with his leaky hose that had a big hole in it that he even stated that my water pressure was low until I pinched the leak on his hose. Seriously? Then after spraying the A/C unit he says he thinks there is a freon leak in the condenser unit. Reports that my A/C unit has physical damage so Choice warranty won't pay for the repairs. He took 3 pics of spots that the fins had been bumped and called it physical damage. So basically he gets $175 to spray water on my A/C unit and call it a day. I will never use Sears for any repairs again. read more

It is hard to rate Sears Appliance Repair any higher than this 2 rating. There is scheduling issues in getting a service technician. When we contacted Sears Appliance Repair to schedule a service technician it was a week out following our call. Ok the day was scheduled with 8am to 5pm arrival for the technician. We rearrange OUR schedule so we can be at home to fix a Samsung gas stove (the things never worked correctly since we purchase it). Now we waited around the house until 3pm then we received a text saying our service technician will not be arriving and was rescheduled a week later, Oh with the 8am-5pm arrival time. Andy, service technician, arrived for evaluation/ repair the gas stove. A lot of discussion between Andy and us on test procedure and repair. Andy would rate a 4 for knowledge and service. The work Pablo did was good and efficient. However, although I scheduled the repair service between 8:00am and 12:00pm, he decided to show up at 1:30pm. Since the repair and the dryer cleaning/maintenance took time, he finished around 3:30pm, making me around 4 hours late for work.
