My refrigerator has not been fix since Dec 2023. The technician stamped my appointment as complete yet he never came to my house and provided an unauthorized signature on the receipt. I stopped paying the warranty service because service wasn't provi and when I contacted customer service, the focus was the $56 I did not pay for the month. I was making payments and service wasn't provided. Now that I stopped, no help. This is terrible service. Never again read more

Our refrigerator went out before Christmas. We called SHS and it took them Five technician visits with 3 of their cancellations to finally fix it on Feb. 10th. one of the worse experiences I've been through and I'm 51. The only bright spot is the one person that could speak good English and his name was Ron Stein. He was patient and actually understood my concerns without forwarding my call. I asked him for his Supervisor's name and he said Manny Olivares. Communication is a Big problem with SHS. I will not be using them for future repair. read more

A few days before the appt, I received several text reminders. On the day of the appt, the technician gave me a call, introducing himself & telling me his ETA. Later, he called, to provide a more specific time of arrival. We had recently purchased the home & it came with a unique, vintage Kenmore gourmet range. The home inspector told us it might not be heating properly in two areas, so after we moved in, we called Sears service to have it checked out. The technician thoroughly checked the range and told us it was working properly. He explained that home inspectors don't often allow burners & elements the proper time to heat up. Having had to pay for some unexpected home repairs, since we moved in our home, we were delighted to find out the unique range is still working properly! We gladly paid the service call bill, which we felt was reasonable, and appreciated the professionalism of the Sears technician. read more

Richard came to repair our refrigerator that wasn't cooling. He replaced the compressor. He was very friendly and sold us on the sears service contract. He was very good at selling, we purchased it that day. After he finished with in days the freezer did not freeze. we called customer care to have someone look at it and they said it was a pre-existing condition and we would be charged for the service to fix what wasn't fixed in the first place. We had another service man come out and he said he would have to charge us because the first ticket was not closed. We canceled the contract that day. We had a local service man who owns his own appliances repair business come check it out. He said the first service man (Richard) only replaced the compressor but not the panel which are to be replaced together. He told us we should call Sears and have someone come out and finish the job they started or get our 500.00 back. We are definitely not happy and very disappointed that Sears is taking advantage of people. I would not recommend this service and don't buy into the service contact, it is a farce. read more

We had a service call on our Kenmore washer as it would not turn on. I had previously researched the issue, and had an idea of what it may be. My wife and I decided to have a service call on our washer, and added the preventative maintenance on the dryer as it was offered at 1/2 price and they are 4 1/2 years old. I was told the circuit board was bad and the repair cost plus labor would be $720, but the part would need to be ordered and a new appointment made. I could get a new washer at that price and declined the repair. The tech was helpful in recommending a Kenmore elite series washer when I asked what was a good product, and I liked the notification system of keeping the customer informed as to the appointment. (The two positives) I do not believe that all the checks were done that the representative that set the appointment told me there would. I was told the dryer vent would be checked and cleaned, it was not although he did disassembled the dryer and removed some debris, and vacuumed. After he left, I followed a Youtube video of what I thought the problem was (corrosion on the contacts)as if I had to get a new washer, it wouldn't hurt anything, and it took me all of 30 minutes to disassemble, clean the contacts with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol and reassemble it. I have done 5 loads with no issues. You would think that a certified tech would inspect and clean the contacts before calling an expensive part bad and wanting to charge the customer $720. Also, I don't know what happened, but since he serviced my dryer, it is stopping before the clothes are dry. Checking the moisture sensor was one of the services I was told would be done, but I don't think it was. I do not feel I got what I paid for on this service call which cost me $159.06, and am very dissatisfied. read more

The advance email from Sear's which featured the service reps picture and credentials allowed us to see and know a little about who we were dealing with. read more

I had to have my lawn tractor repaired, and the Sears repairman showed up on time, as scheduled. After talking to me for about two minutes, he knew exactly what my tractor's problems were. He had my tractor up and running, and it was not running before he got there, in about 45 minutes or less. The repairman was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The man knew exactly what he was doing. Having said that, the only criticism I have is that these repairs are expensive. Figuring my tractor was was down hard, I bought a warranty for $500. As it turned out, the repair would have cost me, according to the repairman, $400. So $400 for about 45 minutes of work and one new bolt & nut seems a bit steep to me. I cannot argue with the results of the repair, however. It is spinning like a top now. read more

The Sears repairman was knowledgeable and courteous and arrived on time. Nevertheless, with the deliberately vague and inaccurate information I had been given on the phone about having my microwave repaired, I feel like the victim of a holdup. I was led to believe that Sears' $250 charge would enter into the cost of the repair, but that was not the case. It cost $250 just to look at the microwave for a diagnostic! That's insane. On top of that I was told on the phone to ask the repairman about how to get 50% off on the repair. The individual on the phone would not tell me. This mystery game was a come-on for extracting more money from the unsuspecting client. Do not use Sears Home Repair Service. Sears no longer enjoys the positive reputation they once had. We're still here with a broken microwave. We feel we have been robbed. read more

My uncle worked for sears for 25 years. I never expected to have the awful experience I had with them today. I set up an appointment over 3 weeks ago. This is my vacation home an hour and a half away. It took a vacation day and drove to the location to be ready to meet the technician. 2 days before my appointment I received the confirmation text for my appointment. 2 hours after arriving to the property the night before they left me a voicemail letting me know my appointment was canceled. I called back and could not get through to a person. This morning I called first thing. I was told they would route another tech. I called back 5 hours later having heard nothing. I was told that if I didn't hear anything by 1pm then it would be rescheduled. Instead of the common courtesy of a human phone call, I got a recorded message at 2pm to let me knownI needed to reschedule. I will NEVER do business with Sears again and will ensure my friends and family know to avoid them as well. How far they've fallen is unbelievable. read more

Not Happy, they trick you and tell you the fee for diagnosing your appliance will be applied to your total service bill. But they DO NOT Apply anything! You will get an itemized bill to be paid after the technician does the the repair. You not only get charged an outrageous diagnosing fee you get charged for labor on the diagnosing fee. You get charged for the labor to do the labor. You get taxed on the labor. You get charged for the part/parts, you get taxed on the parts/parts. We only had a simple heating element replaced on the dryer. Took the guy ten minutes to finish the job. He told me he couldn't move the dryer back to the wall. He was in a hurry to get to the next job.Total Cost was almost $400.00. I did call customer service where in the Philippines. They explained away all the fees and charges. I will NEVER use sears again (Period). read more

Scheduled an appointment online for washing machine repair. Had a confirmed appointment for Dec. 17, 2018, between 8 am and 5 pm. No repairman showed up. Called the next day and was told they were overbooked and the system had rescheduled me for Dec. 28! That is eleven days later. Not only that, but I was not notified. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a store. I will never purchase anything at sears again. We needed to have our dryer repaired and had the sears technician come out to our house. He seemed nice and knowledgeable and told us the issue and when it would be fixed. We agreed to the initial repair of around $200 as he told us if for some reason what he did would not fix the dryer, we would only be out the money for the diagnostic (around $70). We agreed and he ordered the parts. He came and installed them and the dryer wasn't really working well, but he said to give it a few days and it might work fine. We gave it a few days and it completely stopped working. We called and got him to come back out. He told us this time it was a different part which the repair would be between $300-400. We were hesitant to repair this as the whole dryer cost around $700 brand new. He again told us that if it did not fix the dryer, we would only be out the original $70 diagnostic and they would refund the rest. We decided to try one more time. Well this time did not fix the problem either. He gave us another diagnostic that would cost around $500. We declined to fix that and told him that we would like a refund. He gave us a phone number to call as he said he he did not have the ability to write refund checks. We called the number and have spent countless hours trying to get the refund that was promised. We have been given the run around by everyone we have dealt with at Sears (not to mention every time we speak with someone it is a new person and they give us a different reason for denying our refund request). This whole situation smells awfully like a scam to me. I will never again purchase anything from sears. read more

SEARS EXPERIENCE: Completely ridicules. My refrigerator goes down in May 2017. Tech gets there finally on May 24. Does not have parts. Unit under warranty. Order parts but will not be back till 6-21-17. I explained that we cannot be without a refrigerator for that long and he instructed me to call 1-80-4MY HOME. Called and got bounced around and then was promised that I would get a phone call in 24 hours from someone that would be able to assist with my problem. No call ever came. Tech finally gets here on 6-21-17. Works on unit for about 3 hours. Leaves, stating the unit should be good to go and for us to let it run overnight and see if all is good. Prior to repair, the freezer was staying around 45 degrees and we could at least use freezer area for milk and other items but now unit not working at all. Call in again and they give me a reschedule date of 7-13-17. Ask to speak to a manager and they just pass me around from one person to another with the final person telling me that we will look into it and give you a call back within 24 hours. I have made multiple phone calls and NO ONE ever returns ANY of my calls. I now have no refrigerator and when the tech gets here he will have to order parts. Then we will be looking at another 3 weeks and will be well into August and if that don't fix it, we might be getting into October or November before repaired. Thank you Sears, you have now left me without a refrigerator for a family of 4 for the entire summer. This is not a washer or microwave that you can struggle without, this is a FREAKING refrigerator. You can look me up, I have bought a washer and dryer, microwave, dishwasher and yes, a POS refrigerator from your Waco store all within the past couple of years. These are all high-end units or at least they are supposed to be, but with our experience from your repair department, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DAMN THING FROM YOUR STORE AGAIN. Your store is like a BAD BAD BAD used car sales lot, make the sale but after that, customer is on there on. I have even gone to the Waco store and talk to the store manager. Your store manager, Jason, told me that I should of bought the extended warranty because then I would get preferred treatment. Wow, because I did not buy the extended warranty, we are to be treated like we are the scum at the bottom of a barrel and just have to wait our peasant turn. I will be posting this and other remarks to ever social media I know, sharing my experience with them so they do not make the same mistake I made by trusting Sears will take care of their customers. I worked at Sears in 1985-1986 time frame and have always tried to give my business to them. I will not be making that mistake ever again. read more
