Brian's low-ball phone estimate was less than half of the final invoice I received with no prior notice. Don't sign open ended work orders!

Though they were unable to help with stainless steel fabrication they were able to advise alternatives and were very professional.

Kevin as the location manager cares about the facility and taking care of customers and so the company and location and its customers are very fortunate to have someone who cares and has excellent customer service, I've had several nice conversations with him. I also had the fortune of having a conversation with Vance from another location and helping out Camarillo wirh its staffing needs, he was very nice and very helpful with information and so on . I have visited my unit many times and never had a problem. Thank you to management for keeping a clean and safe place..

The security was decent, there was plenty of space, and the temperature was controlled to a comfortable level. It was worth the slight premium. It was a bit annoying that access wasn't 24/7 considering how much we paid, but I could overlook that. Then, prices started increasing every few months. I understand that the entire industry does this, but it seemed excessive. Then, they began construction on the second floor. The noise, dust, and inconvenience were bothersome, and there was no compensation. Thankfully, I wasn't forced to move on my own dime like others. One day, I came to start unpacking and noticed a section of our belongings that had water damage. Initially, I thought it was caused by a leaking pipe, but upon closer inspection, water was flowing down from the second floor, rolling along the I beams and dripping onto our stuff for who knows how long and how much. It seems to be the same issue as this review: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ShTjDuewUGoj2wad9?g_st=ic. All attempts to resolve the issue ended with the company stating that since I didn't use their insurance, they couldn't offer any compensation, replacement, or rental refund. This seems unreasonable and goes beyond the terms of the contract that absolves them from liability. Either the roof, second floor, or both were not properly constructed, allowing water to flow along the I beams. You can see rusted water drop marks on multiple I beams. These beams are completely exposed and there's nothing installed to protect the storage units from water or debris from the second floor. Since they were aware of the issue from the review I mentioned earlier and didn't take any action, it appears to be gross negligence. I also highly doubt that they would even consider addressing the real issue and refunding partial rent if we had their insurance. Regardless of whether we have insurance or not, the website guaranteed dryness and a storage satisfaction guarantee. If you decide to stay here, make it a short stay, cover your belongings completely, and request a different unit if you have any beams or pipes above your unit. And pray that nothing else goes wrong.

We have rented a storage unit at this location for several years and had also done so previously…read more While clean and seemingly secure, we learned you can not trust these people for one second. After requesting a 10' X 10', and after moving from a 5' X 10' into that larger unit, I was told repeatedly that the unit was TEN BY TEN FEET. We realized over time that my unit WAS NOWHERE NEAR TEN FOOT DEEP, NOR TEN FEET WIDE. I have numerous longboard surfboards, all ranging from 9'2" to 9'6" AND THEY SIMPLY DO NOT COME CLOSE TO FITTING, EITHER DIRECTLY IN OR SIDEWAYS. (A lot of extra work to store!) My unit is/was LESS THAN 8.5 FEET DEEP AND LESS THAN 9 FEET WIDE!! They have been stealing money from us for years and if you have a unit there they are probably stealing from you too! When asked about the gross shortcomings and lies, the staff are trained to say, "It is approximately ten by ten.) IT IS NOT AN "APPROXIMATION" OF 10 X 10 FEET - IT IS BOLD-FACED THIEVERY ALONG WITH NUMEROUS LIES We have made contact with the DA's office and will implore them to force an outside or independent review and measurement of ALL UNITS, in order to determine just how many thousands of dollars have been stolen and from how many hundreds of people, month after month, year after year? We are also contacting Consumer Affairs and Consumer protection reporters at Los Angeles news stations and others. And with all the reviews we will be posting, in addition to legal action, It shouldn't be too difficult to expose them and at least curtail their sad, dishonorable conduct. When I have asked them for a smaller unit, they lie and claim they don't have any. Their staff are trained to lie and they all know of the misrepresentation and thievery. Several staff were asked if they had received huge pay increases to go along with their employers raising our rates significantly twice during a global pandemic when many suffered? They all said they had not. , On March 10, I received a call that they were going to lock us out of our unit later that day as I was late with my payment. (We had experienced fraud on several debit and checking accounts over the past year and I had misread their notice to read the 15th.) I needed documents in the unit for use over the weekend. I was in Los Angeles and it was pouring rain. They would not allow me a day or any flexibility whatsoever. So I was forced to scramble back to Oxnard and was subsequently PREVENTED FROM GETTING AT MOST OF MY PROPERTY FOR THAT ENTIRE AFTERNOON, AS IT WAS BLOCKED BY A LARGE CREW. And yet they still charged me additional payments and locked me out. The employee attempted to prevent me from taking photos to gain proof. After NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCESS MY OWN PROPERTY, I called and asked to speak to the owner. A woman lied to me several times, then claimed he had just left. She then named him as a "Mark Harmon" or "Herman" and when I asked her name she finally admitted and said that she was in fact the owner - Che Herman - pathetic!. (They mistreat so many people they attempt to hide their identity.) They ultimately charged me $220 and also cheated me out of the final day of the month. Inside the elevator someone had left a note expressing their distaste with management as well. At least I was able to have a good laugh, after all the lies and thievery. These people display a true sickness of greed, willing to cheat whomever they can in any way they can. At the very least, measure the damn unit! I just got off the phone with george who is supposed to be the district manager for at least this location and supposed have some customer service skills and that conversation wasn't how are you doing? How was your day? How can I help you? He starts a phone call with yeah I'm just addressing your complaint. I'm like OK he's like yeah so what's wrong? So that's what passes as customer service? I did talk to George before when I went to Camarillo, I thought he would've gotten better but he still the same, no customer service skills at all. I wish I recorded that call, 78° is considered climate control. I thought it was 70 but he said that he recorded a temperature yesterday of 78° according to him at the hottest part of the day. Well, he can be making that number up. I don't know if that's real or not and that he went back to oh we don't say it's air-conditioning. Well, duh, I don't go to my storage to bathe in air-conditioning, I can do that at my apartment. Also according to him every second floor unit of every building is always hotter no matter the climate control unit in the building. Well that's funny cause Camarillo wasn't. Then he went into the fact that Camarillo has newer units than Oxnard. Upgrade maybe? Camarillo has units that recycle the hot air or I don't know all the technical aspects of it because I'm not a HVAC tech. So basically what george was saying on the phone is he was telling the customer (me) that Oxnard is older, it only has two units running instead of four, and it's gonna be hotter so get over it even though we're gonna charge you 10 to 15 almost $20 more per month for a system that barely works with insulation that is God knows how old. Now that is how you run a business! OK, no apology from george or we're looking to upgrade, we'll see if we can work this out. As long as george is in charge as a district manager and the company gets the money. I guess that's just how things are right? Well if the owner keeps him employed, he must be getting something from him, but I can tell you the customers aren't and I don't care about the reaction to this review because it's honest. Yes, this location does need a ton of repair and upgrades. I'm so glad I'm going to the new one in Oxnard when it opens up. How do you change out your unit with brand new locks that barely work? I have to play with my freaking garage door for five minutes just to lock it. I would've told George, but he probably would've told me too bad so that's ok. I just wiggle my garage door for 5 minutes every time I want to close it correctly. I guess that's part of the extra charge, hey at least I get to pay that extra cost for that freezing cold 78°that means I'm just gonna be at the unit to get it to lock while I bathe in that cold temperature. I thought new locks were supposed to make things more convenient not less convenient.‍Those garage doors need to replaced too and in 2026 we don't even have interior cameras? Hello 1985. I would not want to keep anything of significant value at this place. This review is more for the phone call I got from the district manager not Javi and Isaac. I understand that george thinks he's right and he won't change.‍ The thing that concerns me the most is that the owner on the Google review seemed like he wanted to fix things and he wants to make this place better than it is and one day be as good as Camarillo, maybe in 3 to 5 years and a couple million dollars possibly. My problem is with how George is and I get personalities. I'm not trying to change him but he's very condescending and when you call him out on something he gets defensive and he's one of those people that just can't take the fact that he doesn't know everything. I don't either but I can admit it. Also, if the owner didn't put the comment that he put on Google reviews after talking to George to me it seems like nothing's ever gonna get fixed and nothing's gonna get upgraded. If you don't like this place then just leave, by the way he was talking I was waiting on that line and I would've honestly respected that even though I would've put it here too. I honestly think if this is how George talks to people I'm glad he's not the owner because to me he sounds like a slumlord. Nothing but excuses,he didn't say it was not gonna get fixed, but he didn't say any of it was and all he did was be disrespectful to me. That's OK we all know that the people that are disrespectful to other people are just taking out their problems on them. I forgive you george, and am glad that YOU are not the owner! Nothing gets fixed right? Thank you very much.
