I would like to say that I have never had a complaint about the providers in the office and have always felt the office staff was lacking, but because of the quality of care I would always overlook the office staff. However, I was just told by the receptionist to Google the question I asked when I called and that was uncalled for. In my job if I told a customer that I would be reprimanded, if not fired. I felt the entire time on the phone call that I was not wanted as a customer and was a bother for even calling, much less for asking a question. When I go in for my follow up the summer I will be speaking to the provider about changing my care to another provider/office. This is not the first time I have felt this way and I do not get this feeling from any other provider that I see. I refuse to pay good money to be treated like this by the office staff. read more

Literally the most unhelpful and rude staff I've EVER encountered. If I could leave zero starts I would! I had an appointment scheduled in advance for 3 MONTHS. I called to cancel / reschedule (as I really would like to reschedule, I need to be seen, please take my money!!) and they told me they are 'not accepting new patients.' Like, ever? I'm sorry am I banned? Why won't they see me? What did I do? Just charge a cancellation fee? I'll pay it? I just want to be seen by a dr, and I feel so let down. I have been a medical professional for 50 years. I have been a patient of multiple dermatology offices due to various skin problems including a melanoma and 3 squamous cancers. Last week I went to Seaside and saw Rachel, a PA, who I think was very caring, informative and educated on matters of the skin. She gave me a thorough exam, and was quite pleasant in the process. Do your homework and believe the reviews.I was skeptical about the previous reviews, but wanted to decide for myself. To say the least, it all rang true. I was amazed by the snotty up-front staff and their lack of customer service skills.Then the doctor-perhaps it was a bad day for her but her demeanor and lack of genuine concern was disconcerting. You cannot teach bedside manner in med school.You either have it or you don't.She also seemed eager to get me out of there which based upon my overall experience, I was more than happy to accommodate. This doctor has one of the worst bedside manners other than one other doctor that I saw years ago. In my personal opinion, she acts as if she does not like her job at all. I saw no caring and no interest. I just wanted to remove myself as soon as possible. I have read a few other reviews and three out of four I read had the same opinion. There is no reason at all that I would ever see her again. There are other better doctors to chose in this area. read more

Today was my 1st visit to Seaside. The waiting room was warm and bright. Met with a smile and good morning from the receptionist. Excellent start. Then only 2 pages to fill out Incredible. Short wait when Sandy and an Asst came to get me. Short hallway walk. These 2 were very friendly and inviting for a new patient. Took care of my history quickly and within minutes Not 10-15 mins my PA A Hughes arrived. Very attentive asks the rights questions Made me feel like she was listening to me. We came up with plan and took care of my needed missing medications. I look forward to a very successful relationship with this practice. I Highly recommend if your looking for a Dermatologist this practice is for you. Don't be scared that it's in Murrells Inlet. Approximately a 30 minute drive from MB Carolina Forest. read more

an assembly line. the dr. came in only to refer to me by the wrong name which i quickly corrected. then i was not afforded the luxury of time to explain what i had been experiencing with my body. the final blow was attempting to get my prescription filled, it had been written to the person with the name i had initially corrected @ the beginning of my appointment. it was not bad penmanship on my part as i had filled out the "pre" appt. forms online & printed for the office. i could go on but you get the idea! never again! read more

Once I arrived I waited less than 15 minutes to get into a room. The PA is very friendly. My next appointment as scheduled w/ the Dr. I didn't have to wait that time either. Once I was in a room the Dr was in w/in minutes to cut out my cyst. I started to have anxiety and they addressed it with personal care and concern. read more

What a terrible experience and I wish there was more I can do than write a review BUT not a single person in that office seemed to care about my concern. I went in to have a inflamed skin tag removed. Got to the office to check in and provided my insurance cards and was called back by the nurse to an exam room. It wasn't until the doctors came in ready to do the procedure that I was informed my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure because it was not medically needed and consider cosmetic. I was in pain BUT okay I guess it's not necessary. I informed her that with my insurance I had plenty of wellness dollars attached to my HRA and it would cover whatever I needed, and to bill the insurance as normal. She said it was no problem billing would take care of it and within 30 seconds I was done with the procedure. The two employees in billing were absolutely unprofessional, and refused to file a claim to my insurance because they knew for sure they wouldn't cover my procedure. I explained again I have extra money in my HRA from health activities I completed and that would cover, and they needed to bill as normal. I have had my insurance for 5 years and I know how it works. I even offered to call while I was there.. they looked at me like I was stupid and said it wouldn't be necessary that they couldn't file the claim. I then had to pay $100 for a less than a minute procedure. Got to my car and called insurance company and they informed they would cover my procedure and even they attempted twice to call the doctors office and they couldn't get through. After calling myself I got ahold of the same rude unprofessional employee I dealt with the first time and told him he needs to file a claim to my insurance and it's not something he can declined as the office performed a medical procedure, and my insurance company left him 2 message with instructions to do so. He was so rude BUT finally filed the claim and than for the first time mentioned a $70 co pay, when I questioned him why he didn't mention it to be from the start he said he was going to mail it... that makes NO sense and needs to be disclosed. I started to question more about the copay and he interrupted me and said your claim is filed we will wait until it's declined and send you the bill for the copay and hung up!!!!! This office is clean and convenient BUT filled with an unprofessional staff that does not have your best interest at heart. I hope this review helps other avoid the same mistake I made by making an appointment at seaside dermatology. read more

Both my Mom and I have seen both Rachel (PA) and Dr. Gibson on a number of occasions and have been well-pleased with our experiences here. Most recently, Mom needed a Mohs procedure for skin cancer performed by Dr. Gibson who was very skilled, personable and explained the procedure every step of the way. The lesion was very visible on the side of her face and the outcome and healing within 7 days was phenomenal. Another lesion removal on her neck went just as smoothly. We would recommend this practice wholeheartedly because it is so well-staffed, every professional is cordial and knows exactly what they need to do. We have never waited more than a few minutes before being called back for our appointment even when the waiting room has several patients waiting. Our insurance has been filed without issue. We have found another benefit is having access to the Patient Portal, should you need access to any of your Pathology reports while away. We have no hesitation giving Seaside 5 stars because they have earned our respect! read more

In a word, physician, Vienna Gibson, is haughty, and made a mockery of my facial condition. She was glib, vague, condescending and dismissive. Her remarks and ultimate advice, for the price of $154, was to avoid the foods that are making my face break out........you try it.....wheat flour (bread, pasta, gravy, desserts, etc), dairy (eggs, milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc) lentils, and foods I haven't even figured out yet....and I don't eat meat or fish. All I wanted was a lotion to calm the inflammation and itching, is that too much to ask of a dermatologist? Beyond that, her office associates, with the exception of her PA, Melissa, wear the same attitudes on their sleeves. I waited at the reception window for almost five minutes while two receptionists, seated 18" from me, wouldn't even acknowledge I was standing there; because they were too "busy" typing on their computers. Neither could even look up to indicate she knew I was there. My advise is, if you are looking for an appointment as a new patient, save yourself the aggravation and money, and go elsewhere.......Oh and by the way, once they have your email, expect non-stop advertisements for their products! read more
