So we are two retired law-enforcement officers and when I saw they had put a brewery in an old jail, I knew we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. In fact it might've been my favorite beers of the five or six breweries We tried in the area.. the bartenders were great, had great recommendations and very friendly. Loved the old bars and the jail cell to include a skeleton jailbird. We will definitely be going back to Seaside brewing the next time we're in town. read more

My family and I were down in Seaside for a few days, and we decided to give Seaside Brewing Co. a try. This building used to serve as the local city hall, fire station, and jail in the early 1900's. As a result, they kept some of the décor, which makes for great ambience. The service here was great as well. I will say they have some great beer options here. Unfortunately, I can't remember what every had, but I went with the cod fish and chips. This surprised me how good it was. Though it was a beer batter, which I'm always a little cautious of, the batter was light and fried perfectly. The fish was done well and there was no grease on the batter. Another member of my family decided on a burger, and she said it tasted great as well. Overall, Seaside Brewing Co. served some great food, they had great service, and a great busy comfortable atmosphere that paid tribute to their past. On our way to Haystack Rock, we had to make the most of the drive and looked up breweries along the way. Seaside came up and it looked like a cute little spot right off the main road that we were driving along. Inside the brewery was lots of different unique artwork.Which I loved and it was quite interesting to learn that the building itself used to be an old jail. We each ordered one beer and shared their fish and chips dish. The dish was pretty normal but the fish was cooked perfectly with it being still juicy.And yet , the outside having a crunchy crisp to the batter. Stopped by this place with a group of 4 after seeing good reviews online. Ordered the sausage bites and pretzel appetizers and I had the fish and chips. Food came out extremely quickly! However, it wasn't very memorable. We all agreed that none of our dishes were anything above average, thus the average rating. Probably the best thing was the sausage bites, which had a kick to it that the sweet sauce they served it with complemented nicely. I also had the nitro stout. It was a bit better than average compared to other nitro stouts but again, not enough to really make it stand out. read more

Placed our order at the counter, went back to our seats. My partner had a question regarding the ingredients used in the food. I waited over 10 minutes in the line again to make sure there weren't ingredients that might cause an allergic reaction. After waiting I finally reached the counter and suggested table staff would have saved my frustration of waiting in line to ask a simple question. The counter staff became defensive. A few months have passed and I noticed the restaurant owner has suggested I should have pushed my way to the front of the line. Then lashed out with name calling. This behavior might be ok in Seaside, it doesn't fly where I'm from. Guessing the owner never finished high school. He's going to need a lot more than luck to stay in business. read more

We stopped in for a quick drink before heading to the beach. The space is pretty large, they have bar, dining, and patio seating. And maybe an upstairs area? It was closed when I was there so not sure. Either way, very roomy. They do have food and it looked good but I didn't try it on this visit. We ordered at the bar. The bartender was friendly and engaging. We opted to sit on the patio. The weather was great. It is dog friendly and we got to see a couple of tired pups return from the beach while we were there. My favorite beer that I tried was the Saint Savage-Belgium raspberry sour. It was tart and sweet and had good raspberry flavor. Seaside Brewing Company was an okay experience overall. The food and beer were fine, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out or made me want to rave about it afterward. They were definitely understaffed when we visited, which impacted the service and wait times. The highlight for me was the building itself. It is very cool that it is located in the old Seaside jail, and that unique setting adds a lot of character. There was dead flies on the window. You have to order your own food. And the food, I never throw away food but I had too. My son didn't like the pulled pork. It had a funky smell to it. He's 8 and kept telling me to leave them a bad review. I got the wings and had no flavor. Wife gave her fish tacos a 5/10. Don't come here to eat. only for drinks. Food is horrible don't eat here. While in Seaside the wife and I decided to stop in for a beer and to browse the merch. This is an awesome local joint with a great patio and the kraken mascot out front is awesome. We had two Hazy IpAs (great flavor) and some clam chowder (also yum!). Counter service with a smile. Check this place out. read more

We chose Seaside Brewing Company because they offer a very large gluten free menu, including gluten free beer and gluten free fish and chips. We ordered the clam chowder, sweet potato fries, the tri-tip sandwich, and fries. The clam chowder was creamy and thick, according to my kid. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection, nice and crispy without being oily. The tri-tip sandwich came on a nice soft roll and was melt in your mouth. Stopped here in a pinch because all the other Yelp places were either closed and had shaky reviews. Highly recommend Local beer was great, bartender was fun to chat with. The only complaint about the soup was it wasn't piping hot on arrival. The chili was kind of meh. Same issue with temperature. Not sure if there was an issue with the stove or what had occurred. Love this family-friendly brewery, where you can bring your toddler & canine companion as well! We are from Las Vegas, NV; and met up w/ our friends that live in OR. The first time we visited, we had our dog with us, and were elated that we sat on the spacious patio with our dog. The second visit (three years later), we brought our boy toddler, and was grabbing a beer with our friends, while we wait for our dinner waitlist to notify us. You need to place NO PARKING signs if you don't want people parking. There is NO INDICATION that one is not to park there. You're just petty. We were having a nice dinner at Nonna's next door to the Seaside Brewery, when all of a sudden there was a commotion at the door. It was the owner of Seaside Brewery; he came storming into Nonna's demanding the staff find the culprit who parked in a certain spot. Everyone stopped eating to see what caused this guy to have a temper tantrum. He was very rude to the staff at Nonna's. It was just a spot, there were no signs stating no parking, or that it was private. How were we to know we did such a horrible thing? My husband heard and told them it was our car, he was reprimanded that we are to move our vehicle immediately, which he did. This guy is a rude, loudmouth, a condensing person.
