The Seattle Center Armory is definitely worth a stop. A nice little sampling of everything.

After spending most of the day touring, it was such a relief to find the Seattle Center Armory where the space was cool and airy and restrooms were clean. The center of the facility boasts a handful of restaurant stalls featuring fresh local foods and beverages. I was also told by a local that during the winter the space is transformed into a magical place with ice sculpting, choirs, and holiday music and dance. Definitely make a pit stop here to refuel. read more

What a jewel located near the space needle. We had been living here for years and never knew about this place. It reminded me of time out market in Lisbon but way better. This place is affordable compared the food stalls there. Everything is reasonable considering it's next to all the main tourist areas. You can still buy a pizza for $8 something from mod pizza. The Armory is conveniently located next to the Space Needle and other big Seattle attractions. My friends and I stopped by for lunch in the middle of our touristy adventures. I was expecting a more lively crowd on a Friday around noon, but it actually was quiet and somewhat dead inside. Inside the spacious building are several food court options: coffee and bagels, pizza, a fry bar, barbecue, meat pies, Mexican, bubble tea, etc. We all split up and went to different places. I went to the fry bar and ordered sweet potato fries topped with Thai peanut sauce and sriracha. One friend ordered a barbecue brisket plate and another ordered some meat pies. I liked all of the food, though nothing was really worth raving about. The fries were tasty but the execution was a bit poor as all of the sauce ended up at the bottom, making the fries super soggy by the time we got there. The brisket was just okay, though the selection of hot sauces made everything taste great. The lamb curry and chicken hatch chile meat pies were both very good. Our group was split 50/50 as to which meat pie was better; personally, I preferred the lamb but that might be because I love curry. I also got a peach green tea from the bubble tea shop--decent but nothing special. read more

There are a few interesting food choices in here, but some are a little uninspired, and a bit overpriced. Highlights for me were the meat pies - these were awesome! The Seattle Center Armory is a huge food court. The building is between the Science Center, Space Needle, and the Chihuly Glass and Garden. I had just finished visiting the Space Needle. I went to go in to the Chihuly Glass and Garden. The sign on the glass door (of course it's glass!) said that it would be a noon start. It was just after 11 am. I decided to grab a bite to eat. The Armory is huge and has plenty of food choices. I decided to get some Mexican food and ate at the Blue Water Taco Co. I ordered the shredded beef enchilada with beans and rice. It was so good! It we both flavourful and filling. The eatery has plenty of seating. There was also a bar across from the eatery and a Starbucks. I love this idea of having variety and plenty of food options for everyone. Sure, both tourist sites have their own restaurants. However, for more affordable options, the Armory is your best bet. This place is disgusting has huge rat infestation, I used to work there, over night there would be rat poop all over the counters and we found dead rats before under the dishwasher when I first started because it smelled so bad I pulled it out. I like this place when I need eating something or spending time near Seattle Center or McCaw Hall. I usually go Starbucks when I need to eat sandwich or panini with coffee. They are always friendly. I never disappointed with Starbucks at Armory. But, last week, I tried to go Subway instead of Starbucks. I ordered roast beef sub sandwiche from Subway for take-out to bring it to work. Sandwich was good as same as other subway stores. But, unfortunately, they're not friendly than other restaurants here. Subway staffs at Armory need to improve better customer service. read more

I don't hate the Seattle Center Armory. It's like a huge mall food court ... minus the mall. The Armory plays a key role in feeding fast food to the masses of locals and tourists visiting the Seattle Center district which is home to the Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, Monorail, and Chihuly Garden. I've eaten quick bites from Mod Pizza, Premier Meat Pies, Seattle Fudge, and Cool Guys. I didn't say I enjoyed. I said eaten. The food was a-ok 3-star stomach stuffers ... and exactly what I'd expect from a food court. Nothing to hate. Nothing to love. Lots of people and lots to eat. Oh, and there's a Starbucks. Cha-ching! The armory might seem like a food court for tourists, but throw in Seattle's Best Damn Happy Hour and it's definitely an awesome spot for locals too. I've eaten at most of the eateries and most have been mediocre. If I was only basing this review on my average experience of the food offered here, I would give it only 3 stars. My favorite spots to grab a bite here would be MOD Pizza and Blue Water Taco Grill. I would avoid eating at WOK or Bigfoot BBQ blehck! If you haven't made it out to their happy hour which happens every third Thursday, put it on your list! There are lots of games to play like corn hole, foosball, darts, giant jenga / scrabble / connect 4 / checkers, old school video games, cards, trivia, and plenty of board games etc. - oh and of course, can't miss that karaoke :) The armory is very spacious and does not have the "cozy" vibe of being at a bar, but it's great for large groups, so bring your friends and come have some fun! Entry is free and you get a raffle ticket for a chance to win some awesome prizes - drawings are at 6:30p and 7:30p. Aside from being a food court and hosting SBDHH, there are so many events that are held here throughout the year. I've enjoyed coming to a few of them although none are actually that spectacular since they're usually smaller events. This is not a review for the Seattle Center itself which hosts plenty of awesome large scale events on its grounds, but rather just for the armory. It is conveniently and centrally located at the Seattle Center with several different entrances in case you need to duck in during the rain. Nothing too notable, but, they do have kid size tables for your little munchkins to dine at ;))) and the staff does an excellent job of keeping the space clean. This was my 1st time here. I tried the Fish and Chips and my daughters had Orange chicken. I was not impressed with my food the fish was soggy and the fries were cold, the coleslaw was too sweet. My daughters food on the other hand was good, they finished everything. If you have time and you are not in a hurry try a different place. read more

For a food court, I was very surprised to see the amount of excellent food options here. You have -Pie (sweet ad savory pies) -Skillet (based in Capitol Hill - has decent breakfast and amazing Chicken sandwiches) -Starbucks (say what you will about Starbucks but this place is always crowded) -Eltana bagels -Ceres coffee -Quincy's burgers -bigfood BBQ joint -The Confectional (sweets) -Seattle Fudge -Mod Pizza -Kabab -Subway My favorite place to go here is Skillet since I don't have to trek to Capitol Hill or hunt down its food truck to enjoy their chicken sandwiches. There is also a stage area for performances, and a lot of times, exhibits are set up in the middle of the building. The only negative I would have to say is that a lot of homeless people like to camp out in the Armory, probably because it's warm and nobody really pays attention. So if you're not familiar with the Seattle area, don't be alarmed if you see disheveled people walking around. read more

Best food court ever? Yes!! Several food trucks have made shop here so you don't need to go searching for your fav places anymore! There are places that serve beer (and maybe wine) awesome! There are three floors with bathrooms on all (so if the floor you are on has a line the one upstairs does not) most people go downstairs not up! (and hey on the way back down it's easier) The info booth for Seattle Center is in here, but staffing is hit or miss however there are paper maps and flyers available anytime if you need it. Elevator #7 at the back of the (Center House) Armory has long been a source of mystery and frustration for those who visit or work in this historic building. After the Bubbleator was removed from the Center House in 1983, Elevator #7 became the only reasonable way to get to the 4th floor TPS rehearsal rooms and offices. The elevator was difficult to find, unreliable and frequently broken down. The elevator has recently been refurbished, maintaining the stainless steel interior and art deco designs on the doors. There is even a recorded voice which announces the car position and destination. Current construction has caused the elevator not to stop at floor 3, but I'm sure that will be fixed soon and elevator #7 will once again be a gathering place for anyone auditioning or rehearsing at TPS! read more

SCA hosts a number of cultural events during the year. My first time for this year was Seattle's French Fest. A number of presentations/events were planned throughout the day, from cooking demonstrations to judging the best baguettes in town. The latter was of great interest, as literally blocks of butter accompanied the presentation of the quintessentially French staple. I particularly enjoyed the book fair. French books of various age and publications were on sale for a mere 2-3 dollars. For the kid at heart and cartoon enthusiast -- frolic at the sight of Babar and Asterix books. Various freebies abound at the different floors. Sorry to report the macarons were a tad dry :( and wish they had some french cheese tasting (maybe next year). There was a concert stage where local french themed bands, troubadours and talented artists showcased their talents. See the schedule for details. PS- The winner for the best Baguette in Seattle was Columbia City Bakery (my vote) and 2nd and 3rd goes to Mikado and Fuji, respectively. Probably the best food court I've ever been to. Lots of choices and interesting ones too. Yes, the food is overpriced, but it sure beats normal mall food. And really convenient when you've been in the museums all day and need a break for food before going back. Plus, we were able to split off and each get something that aligned to our personal interests. A BBQ pork sandwich for my son, bagels and mac n'cheese for my daughter (who eats only plain bread sometimes), a gourmet salad for my husband and myself. I do admit the salad didn't impress us too much (from Plum Pantry), but we thought the BBQ food was a fair deal. read more

This has to be the greatest collection of underachieving eateries anyplace on the planet. I am going to assume it's not cheap to lease space in the Armory. Unfortunately that opens up the community to franchises that have deep pockets and are overpriced. There was a time when Seattle was a food destination and also a time when the independent spirt of local flavor was represented here, but once greats like Quincy's has become a must avoid establishment and local hero Pizza Haven has been replaced with the mediocre Mod Pizza. The reasonably prices Frankfurter is as much a memory as the infamous bubble elevator that once anchored the center house. Coming here used to be a treat, but by the time they removed the rides arcade and concessions, the fun spirit that represented so many childhoods was killed. read more

Came across this place after our late lunch at the Collections Cafe. If we knew what was in here we probably slipped collections cafe and eaten somewhere here. This place reminded me of the Anaheim packing district in Orange County California. So many different eateries to choose from but I was bummed that I was already too full to try anything else. This is a pretty good place to take your kids, there's a small museum downstairs. This is located right next to the collections Cafe and Chihuly Glass Museum. read more
