The Gig Harbor location closes at the end of December ( of 2025). We were over in Gig Harbor this past weekend to see a friend and were actually surprised to to see this tasting room still open. We knew that Heritage has closed many tasting room locations already and just assumed that the Gig Harbor location closed some time ago. But nope, they are still around for a few more weeks. We got some spirits here. I got some miniature bottles of vodka and whiskey and Steve got a spirit that has an amazing Earl Grey flavor so we definitely had a nice purchasing "Hurrah" here before this location closes. Despite all tasting rooms closing Heritage Distilling will still exist as it is going to a production only operation.

I didn't catch the name of the young woman who catered to us but she was as delightful as our visit was as she carefully ascertained our likes and suggested appropriate spirits for our tastings. Spot on! My wife got a flight of botanical gins and I got a flight of several of their whiskies. Three of the whiskies were 100% wheat which I've never experienced before. The last was their Arrow Point which is a mixed mash bill. My favorite was their 86-proof flagship whiskey Battle Point but the Arrow Point was a real pleasure too. What we both enjoyed immensely was the non-barrel aged botanical Heritage Gin so we just had to get a bottle and a matching hip flask. There was a killer pizza joint with sourdough crust right across the street and a brewery with wonderful stouts in the same parking lot. For crying out loud just come here and enjoy half a day. A perfect afternoon of whiskey, pizza, and beer!

Getting there, the drive was really simple and the surroundings beautiful. The distillery itself is tucked away in the back near some other garages. There is parking near there but it is limited. We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. The service there was great because the individual behind the bar was very attentive, asked us questions about what we liked, and gave recommendations based on our answers. We wanted to start off with the flight, which was a great option because it helped us really decide on the drinks we wanted to try out that were recommended to us. In the end we got two drinks each and walked away with a bottle of brandy and gin. Safe to say that we enjoyed what we tasted. They were super friendly and Dylan did a great job at explaining the different spirits and what they have to offer. We decided to each do the 4 glass tasting for $15 and with 8 tastings total we got to taste most of what they had to offer. My boyfriend loved everything he tasted! I'm not really a big fan of darker liquors but I really loved the Harvest Gin and Eagle Harbor Brandy, I had to bring a bottle of each home to share.
