Seattle Granite really helped me out in a pinch by agreeing to do a counter install and even helping me find a similar countertop to one I'd picked before after a deal with Pius went up in flames. Jarren was fantastic, set expectations right away and managed to do a great job on counter install within a week of my calling. What was not so great was the crew he sent out. They were difficult to deal with, insistent the job was impossible and tried to leave before eventually getting it done. When they had to come back after the seal around the sink failed, they kind of blamed us for the seal failing because we had used the sink within 72 hours of it being installed (they has told us 24 and we followed their instructions). Would definitely recommend based on experience with Jarren and overall results, but would mention that crew was pretty unpleasant. read more

We bought our slab independently and got quotes from several fabricators to cut and finish it. SGC won out because their price was competitive, they were willing to be flexible, and I got a strong sense that they knew their stuff. We had ideas about how the slab would be cut up, and Jarren was super helpful, letting us play with the templates in the yard to get it the way we wanted. Install went very well. They were a little late showing up but otherwise very professional. We did a bunch of remodeling over the summer and had more than a few contractors in and out. Victor and his assistant were the cleanest and most conscientious. They did a beautiful job on the installation and we could not be more pleased with the outcome. read more

Seattle Granite Countertops installed countertops in our kitchen, including a huge island, in addition to countertops in our master bathroom and one other storage cabinet. Jarren, Tom and the installer guys were absolutely wonderful. Five months later, I'm still in love with my counters. Ours was a large installation, and very tricky in many respects. We could not have been more pleased with the quality of the granite, the craftsmanship of the installation, and the wonderful customer service of both the sales and the installation teams. Everyone showed up right on time, made sure they cleaned as they worked, and left their work areas cleaner than when they arrived. Did I mention their fantastic prices? After searching around for granite countertops for my kitchen I went down to Seattle Granite down off of East Marginal Way - they are in a warehouse where they have all their granite slabs and islands. They were very helpful, gave me samples of a couple of the types I liked to take home and try on for size, alerting me that one of my samples was very popular and then they had several islands (39 inches by 8 feet) but only 3 slabs (25-1/2 inches wide). Naturally the one I chose was out of slabs by the time I picked it as my preferred choice and it would be at least a couple months before they got that material in again. I came down and got more samples, made a selection and they referred my to Victors Granite (see separate review) to remove the old and install the new. We then learned that my old countertops were 3/4 inch wider than the slab width, so I would have to use 4 of the wider islands ($390 each instead of the $250 for slabs). Upon further discussion they said they felt bad about that but that since I had to use islands, they had 4 islands in my original selection and that if I chose those, they would reduce the price per island from $390 to $300. I agreed, then went down to inspect the islands (they were/are gorgeous) and then paid for them. Tip: inspect your slabs or islands before you buy/install - they may look different from samples, have blemishes or pattern variations. Mine were great. Final outcome, countertops are in and look fantastic. Very happy with Seattle Granite Countertops and all the help/advice they gave me. not to mention the price reduction they gave me without me asking. read more

I recently completed a small bathroom remodel project for a friend and was trying to determine if we could use granite slab and stay within their budget. I found Seattle Granite Countertops on Yelp and decided to give them a try and couldn't be happier. Because the bathroom is relatively small, I was hoping to find a remnant and sure enough, Seattle Granite had a remnant that would work. I spoke directly with the owner (Jarren) and he quoted me a price for the remnant and then the additional cost to fabricate it to my specs. They fabricated it to my specs (took less than a week) and they helped load it into my car. I ended up getting this counter top and a matching back splash for less money compared to what I spent for a smaller remnant in my own house a few years ago. Give these guys a try; they know what they're doing and they have very good pricing with high quality. If you are looking for affordable counter top options, don't rule out granite; we looked at custom laminate and some engineered stone products and granite was very competitive plus the install is a breeze (apply adhesive and set it down). Other materials like laminate or tile may be cheaper in terms of materials, but don't discount ease of installation as that saves a ton of money in the long run. read more

Jarren is the best. What I needed was small - a hole cut for a hot water dispenser. No one else would bother since they hadn't done the install. He looked at me as an investment into a future customer- handled it promptly around other work, taught me how to care for my quartz, and told me what to expect when I can afford to replace my counters. He's even taking on sourcing a remnant piece to match what I have for an expansion project in the kitchen. He'll certainly get my business- I won't call anyone else. read more

This is one of the toughest reviews I have written. I have been sitting on this for nearly two years, trying to figure out how I would write it, if at all. You see the issue is that Seattle Granite Countertops (SGC) and the installers are sort of separate entities, but they really need to be grouped into one review. SGC is good. Jarren is knowledgeable and their pricing is competitive. They can be a little gruff if you catch them on a bad day or ask too many questions, but that seems to be the norm with anything related to home remodeling and construction. The counters were cut and installed at our house. The first thing I noticed was a huge gap along the area where the backsplash would go on one of the pieces to the left of the stove. It went from small to large (nearly an inch at it's widest point). I showed this to German and he said the wall wasn't straight. Okay, that's possible I guess. He also said that the backsplash would cover up the gap. Having never installed a backsplash myself and not wanting further construction in my kitchen, I reluctantly paid them cash and sent them on their way. As the days went by, the more and more this crooked piece bugged us. It just didn't sit right on there. I called Jarren and he said the same thing that German said to me: the wall is probably off. However, I told Jarren I had taken some measurements from the front and sure enough, it was off there too. It was nearly 1/2 an inch off in the front. The whole piece was sitting crooked on the cabinet box. How could this be? Well, they hand-cut the granite with a cutting wheel and what appears to have happened is they cut (and notched) the adjoining piece incorrectly, forcing this piece to only fit crooked. I took a bunch of pictures and measurements and emailed them to Jarren. I had to follow up a couple times before he finally conceded that it was installed crooked. We arranged a time for German to stop by and take a look. I double-checked the date and time. I made it clear that I wanted to be there, so timing was important. Well German and his installers showed up a couple hours early, catching my wife off-guard. They knocked repeatedly on the door. She was not ready for them and I was not home yet. Oh, and we had two sleeping kids upstairs. My wife let them in and showed them the problem. She had to argue with them a bit. They went out to their van and waited for me to come home. Their "fix" was to add black caulking to the gap. We agreed that if we did not like this then we wanted the piece replaced. I have no idea why we agreed to this idea. After all, it was clearly crooked from the front. How would adding caulk and reducing the gap in the back solve our issue? It wouldn't. All it would do is make it possible to install the backsplash without a gap. In my opinion the disconnect between SGC and the installers is unacceptable. Where's the quality assurance? Is it the customer? That's dangerous. There should be spot-audits before and after some jobs. And if there's a costly fix like this one, SGC management should drive out and look at it. They can write off the mileage. The installers are crucial. They could make or break SGC. I called Jarren and made it clear that we did not like the caulk fix. This is where he started to get defensive. I told him I had another tile guy (who also does granite) come by and see if he could/would do the backsplash install with the caulk in place. He repeatedly shook his head and wondered not only why they attempted a "fix" like this, but why they did butt-joins on some of the prefab pieces. This extra set of professional eyes was confirming what I expected all along; the installation work was shoddy. Jarren did not like this. He went off on me on the phone. I had to use some old police techniques to calm him down (lower my voice to barely audible, speak rationally, no emotions, etc.). Maybe he was having a bad day. I had never had an issue with Jarren up until this point. I think he was just flat-out sick of dealing with us. And he repeatedly defended his installers, which to be honest kind of pissed me off. I mean what more was it going to take to get this done right? I took 20 pictures, numerous measurements, a PowerPoint, 5 emails, and placed 15 calls. Does SGC think I really want these guys back in my house for 3 hours to rip off the old piece? Heck no! After getting things calmed down we came to agreement to again have the installers come out and fix this issue. It was now nearly one year after the initial installation. They came out but were a few hours late. It took them about 2 hours to rip off the old piece, cut a new one, and install. What no one told us was that new batches of granite come in after the old is used up. This piece was a different pattern! Crap! So we now have a properly-installed piece that looks "off." I told Jarren but that was the end of it. As much as I want to, I cannot recommend SGC due to their installers. read more

We chose Seattle Granite Countertops not because of their color selection but because we liked the front office staff. We thought they would take excellent care of our order and our installation. Guess what? After they took our deposit we had to call them to find out what time they would be installing our tops. They said between 9am and 11:30 today. Guess what - it's now 2:10. We haven't received a call or email as a courtesy to let us know there were problems or delays. If you are like me and time is money - it hasn't been a good day sitting at home waiting for tops to show up. If customer service is important to you - this isn't the place for you. Try Hy Cabinets in Kirkland. They are a lot less expensive. read more

I talked with Tom who was knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. They had a honed black stone (called black pearl), which was exactly what I was looking for and hadn't been able to find. On the day of the installation, their crew showed up on time and did a fantastic job. We couldn't be happier with how it looks and how we were treated every step of the way. Three Cheers for these guys who helped out a guy with Granite In Need! I bought a granite top vanity with 4x30 inch granite backsplash. Sadly, the vanity top is 28" wide. That's another story. I needed to trim 3 inches off a granite slab stick! I called SGC, they said,come on by. I came by, the Dude just spun up the stone saw and sliced that sucker down and said, "You're good to go. No charge." I insisted I should give him $20 at least, I mean it took 5 mins, so that's $120/hour, but he said no. SMILE! Seattle Granite Countertops is my favorite StoneBoys. I didn't have to make many phone calls. The installers are craftsmen who take pride in their work. My install is almost flawless, and of the couple little issues, the average person would never notice. A coworker got a GREAT deal on prefab granite so I decided to go that route for the last part of my kitchen remodel. I learned the hard way that I should have picked out the granite before doing the floor - way easier to get flooring to go with granite that the other way around. Anyway, I had a cabinet door and piece of flooring to take with me on my epic journey. I went to several prefab places and found the choices very limited. Got two estimates that were off the charts. Using Yelp I located Seattle Granite Countertops, stopped in and Jarren spent probably an hour with me educating me about granite and the alternatives. He is very generous with his time and expertise. He suggested I go to the big stone distributors and gave me a list and directions. I went the first one and it is a vast building full of treasures. I spent several hours there looking, taking pictures and getting samples. I called it a day and went back the next week. I stopped at another fabricator who has a very flashy gorgeous showroom. They started interrogating me in a way that made me feel like they were trying to find reasons to not do business with me. Went on to two more warehouses where I was shown, among lots of other stuff, a clearance slab - half price and one only. I reserved it and they called Jarren. He took a look and compared it to my measurements and wasn't so sure it was enough material. I really wanted it so he had Victor come out and do templates. Victor said no problem so we scheduled fabrication and installation. Just wanted to add that I didn't choose my slab because it was clearance. I choose it because it is over-the top-gorgeous and affordable for me only because it was on sale. I was really sweating bullets over this because it was a lot of money and I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to look with my crazy floor. I double checked Jarren's estimate with him to insure no unpleasant surprises. I bought my sink from him and had them do the demolition. They also recommended a plumber who I used to reconnect the sink, disposal and dishwasher. He also called me to ask if I wanted to be there when they cut the stone to choose the configuration of the patterns. I figured he would be better at that than me. Install day arrived and I got my first look at my granite in my kitchen. WOW!!! It is gorgeous! Worth every penny - which was less than the prefab people. The install was perfect. Two seams are invisible. Patterns all match. The stone is perfect, they were clean and efficient and the final price matched the estimate to the penny. Sorry this is so long but I wanted to share the process with those, like me, who are completely in the dark about how to go about it. Stone is a big, scary investment. I have dealt with a few granite providers in the past, but the guys @ Seattle Granite were over the top responsive and helpful!! I just had a small job this time too; a fireplace mantle. I originally inquired via email, got a response first thing the next am. I went in the next day to look at the granite options, provided dimensions and they custom cut it and installed the same day! (just to level set expectations....they'd had a job cancel that day and did ours instead). They quoted a very reasonable price, and installed the mantle for us too. Looks FAB!! Seems to have a good price on the granite after that LOOK OUT!! Not sure why went back to these guys again since the first time the granite was not installed properly (raised seems, poor application or sealant,etc.) but I guess the price was right again for the slab. NOW have been waiting all day thinking that were going to be here at a certain time and waited and waited ... no show and no call. I had to call them to find out what happen??? Jarren and Tom are true professionals - but Coco is the bomb. Their pre-fab slabs are extremely well priced - our oversized kitchen countertops wouldn't allow a single pre-fab piece over the sink and bay window, so we went with a full slap for a bit more cost.
