I took my mini cooper se in for routine maintenance today. First there were 6 people "working" at the service department desks, but apparently only one could check me in. That one person was dealing with a couple ahead of me. OK, they were there first and I understand about waiting my turn. But none of the others were willing to help me. The couple ahead of me had a very complicated situation and the one person working was taking a considerable amount of time with them. While 5 others sat there and let a customer stand for over half an hour just waiting to check in for my appointment. Then finally, the one worker asked another one to help me. That one checks me in and does his job. Thank goodness. Then they charge me over 700 for changing a cabin filter and brake flush. Really?? $700 for that. Are they charging so much so they can pay their employees to sit around and do nothing? Perhaps. Then they offer to rotate my tires for another $50. No thanks! I will never go there again. I am still here, and so is my ice blue (and she's feeling mighty blue these days) 2013 MINI Cooper Fiona. Sorry sweet Fiona, prices seem to have gone up. Way over $200 just to do a diagnostic (some other shops apparently throw this in free of charge). I mean c'mon. I don't have to pay even a third of that to get a diagnosis from my neurologist--and I make her work hard. Sure, she says there's no easy medical explanation for why I have this creeped-out feeling like parasitic insects are crawling all over my skin every time I think about 11550 Lake City Way, NE. Says that it's probably all in my head, like that time I couldn't get innocent Fiona into gear on hills. The thing is, 99% of the time I look in the mirror and there are zero parasitic bugs on me. But then there's the other 1% of the time, when I DO FIND a creepy-crawly sucking my blood. Freaks me out until, well, until roughly my next oil change is due... Anyway, I digress. I can't even imagine what the Seattle MINI Service Dept. charges these day to actually do something that involves wrenches! If I'm starting to seem paranoid, I'll have you know that I also believe in the Tip of the Iceberg Unified Theory of Everything--which means if I'm not receiving "good phone" on the front end, our luck will continue to roll downhill from there if and when Ms. Fiona & I show up somewhere in person... ...Specifically, I've made several phone requests for an emailed itemized receipt from our last visit to MINI-land, and have been made promises, promises, promises...yet no paperwork has arrived in our inbox. Apparently, the current "team" (hate that word, the world would be a much more peaceful, pleasant place without any bloody teams), applies its torque much more to adding items to one's work order, than providing us motorists with a copy of what we've paid for. Very poor, unreliable and unprofessional customer service. It appears they switch their service advisors very frequently which might explain lack of quality and consistency. Called our service advisor days after picking up the car from service. I immediately noticed something was off, so I called and she advised I wait for a few days, then call back if my concerns don't go away. I waited for a while but the problem continued. I was leaving messages on her voicemail for a few weeks, asking her to call me back. She didn't so I finally tried calling another number - only to be told she was terminated weeks ago. Not really sure why her voicemail was still active?! Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. They would commonly not call back/update us on service department progress. Whenever I called, it would mostly go straight to the voicemail - regardless of what time I called them. When I finally came to pick up the car, there were 3 service advisors sitting at their desks, scrolling their cells. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Very disappointing service experience today. (Drop off was fine. Gigi is a treasure. The rest of the service team is terrible. ) I picked up my e-mini for brake fluid exchange & inspection. Upon arrival there were 3 "dudes" hanging out at the service desk on their phones. No one SD, "Hello, How can I help, or Welcome to Seattle Mini." They just stared at me then two scattered. One guy (I don't know his name b/c he never introduced himself sd, "What's your last name?". Gave him the info and he SD my car would be ready soon. I said I have a loaner and here is the key. He took the key and SD they will inspect the car. Just wait. He leaves for 10min or so, says my car is ready then literally shoves a paper Infront of my face and says,"Sign here." Apparently it was my completed inspection notice. I sign and he hands me my key and says your car is outside, then walks away. *Nice* Upon taking my 740.00 (No thanks BTW just Tap here.) My car hasn't been vacuumed, or washed, and it smelled like cigarettes. A vacuum and wash or a certificate for a car wash used to be a basic courtesy. Those 3 dudes were just hanging out on their phones . Maybe they could help the actual service department and use a vacuum or something. Seeing how Mini treats their customers after a purchase- it seems they take your money then tell you to piss right off. I really enjoyed my Seattle Mini experience until recently. I've purchased nine (9) MINI's from Seattle MINI. Management has always been focused on the customer and making sure they are taken care of, some of the sales people, not so much. This is a good dealership and the one closest to my home in Seattle. I would go back again and purchase from them. Service, top notch. (Lauren, Bradley and Gigi are amazing). Caleb (the GM helped me a lot). As far as sales, the stand out is Nick, he's upstanding and listens and works well making sure deals get done. This review is specific to the new policy of passing on credit card merchant charges to customers. I came in tonight to pick up my car and was surprised to hear this. Also, I was told this when I picked my car up, not earlier. There is no signage displayed notifying customers of this change and bad business decision. It's time for me to find a BMW friendly repair shop and avoid the exorbitant prices of repairs at the dealership. A complete miss with the first sales person. Was chatting with a sales associate, let's name him "H". We did not have any appointment but stopped by to look at a Mini Cooper for our daughter. Ignored by entire staff (receptionist to included). After about 20 minutes of being ignored, I went up to the receptionist and asked if "H" was available. "H" came over and told me "you have no appointment and I am busy". He never came back. We interrupted a gentleman name Russell whom graciously put down his warm lunch and showed us around, answered by questions. We were clear that we are still looking. Appreciated Russell respecting the conversation that we are not ready and did not hound us down. I called back 3 months or so later and went back to the dealership 2 more times before making the purchase. The car is for our 16 years old and it's a fresh breath of air when a sales person respected not only the parents paying the car, the girl herself and her brother. Have had a few back and forth messages with Russell since acquiring the Mini, Russell remains polite and respond to messages in a timely manner, the same kind of care we received before we bought the car. Overall, I've had good luck with Mini service. The people there have been very nice. The reason for the 3 stars is the tendency for Mini parts to fail fairly quickly and the high cost to have repairs done. My 2015 4-door Mini (F55) with 38K miles was driving noisier than normal so I took it in to Seattle Mini. It was diagnosed as a "blown out/torn/leaking" upper engine mount. 1 hr of time to diagnose the problem: $225 Cost to replace upper engine mount: $1,700 Add sales tax and it was $2,179.74 for Seattle Mini to replace the upper engine mount. I felt like I was punched in the gut but told them to go ahead and do the repair. They also suggested that I update my Mini's software for $250. I asked what it would do, and they said software updates can improve driving performance and fuel economy but couldn't really give me any more specifics. I was already reeling from the cost of the other repair so I'm skipping the $250 software update for now. I asked the person in service that took my payment whether it was normal for the upper engine mount to fail at 38,000 miles and he said it was fairly typical. I knew owning a Mini would be more expensive than owning a Toyota, but I'm just now realizing exactly how expensive it really is. If you are thinking about buying a Mini, just realize that the engine mounts will definitely fail at some point, often as soon as 30K-40K mile range. Be ready to spend $2200 when it happens. Also, there is more than one engine mount location that can fail, so this could repeat. With that said, and to end on a happier note, I want to repeat that the people in Mini service have always been very pleasant to deal with. Also, this should go without saying, but Mini's are really cute and fun to drive!! read more

EDIT: +2 stars. Seattle Mini owned up to their mistake here, reimbursed me, and had a top technician address any issues caused by said mistake and then some. I would have preferred the work done properly to begin with, but they handled this very professionally and did their best to make it right. I do plan to come back, but will wait the extra time to ensure that a specific, experienced technician does the work. OLD REVIEW: Rush jobs. Doing more harm than good during routine maintenance. Every other time I've brought my 2004 Mini Cooper here for routine maintenance, which has been done only at this shop for the life of the car, I have to get it towed back for them to fix a tech's mistake that left it inoperable within hours or days. I keep coming back because they always make it right and then the car is back to running perfectly, until the next time their rushed tech's do shoddy work. This time was the last straw. After getting a routine radiator service --no problem with the radiator and no temp problems whatsoever, just recommend preventative maintenance/upkeep--my car was overheating leaving me stranded in the mountains because all the coolant had drained out while driving. The tech did not properly reseal the radiator after the service, so the coolant sprayed out from the drain plug as I drove. This is actually the second time! The exact same thing happened five years ago when I got the last recommended radiator flush service. I had to get my Mini to the nearest dealership (Mini of Portland!), ruining my camping weekend, resulting in me needing to get a hotel and take the train home to Seattle. This time the tech also dangerously over inflated my two front tires by 7 and 12 PSI over the recommended pressure printed right there on the inside of the car door during a tire rotation service, cause the tire pressure indicator light to come on. I don't know what is going on with their techs or their workflow, but it is not good and routine maintenance is putting my safety, and the life of my car in jeopardy, which I was only trying to extend with regular maintenance. read more

I bought my mini here, I've been coming here for years for service but over time, the customer service has been going further and further south. Just recently, I've called in to see how they handle collision repairs and to ask for a referral (in case they don't do those repairs in-house), as I would definitely value BMW/Mini expertise and would rather take my car to their trusted partners. The person on the phone simply could not be bothered... Hung up on me after barely spelling the name of bodyshops in the area (and sounding like they were doing me a massive favor by giving out that information), not giving me a chance to ask a single follow-up question. No bueno, Seattle Mini. That's not the way to treat the brand's loyal fans. read more

1st service advisor is no longer there - due to incompetence royally screwed me with my warranty company. 2nd SA was/is fantastic - Jarrod 3rd SA absolute royal nightmare - Amanda . I had a laundry list of things I needed/wanted done and checked out on my list. I spoke to Amanda when I brought my car in who swore she would totally take care of me. Followed up by 3 different people (because AMANDA WAS TOO BUSY) who didn't know what was going on didn't know what was being fixed. My car was finally "ready"(2 loaners) - NOT -come to find out they only "fixed" a couple of things on the list. So back to the shop my car went with a new loaner. Part of the ongoing issues with my car was an oil "leak" and door locks and door handles not unlocking the car. A week after picking up my car I took a long drive and found out my car was farting blue smoke. Again - I had Amanda as a SA. This is where the nightmare really begins. I brought my car in at the beginning of October - OCTOBER! I finally got my car back at the end of JANUARY!! 3 loaners - The first one was a POS that had issues of its own. So now the oil valves needed to be replaced. Locks were still and issue and would be evaluated. It took her 2 weeks to even started the process with the warranty company. They asked for pictures and videos. Very little communication from Amanda on the progress she kept blaming the warranty company. Finally, I get a call from her in December saying they were no longer going to work with my Warranty company and her manager was going to call me. I asked her to send me everything she had sent to them pictures, videos, and emails. I wanted to see the correspondence. I finally heard from Mia the service manager saying she was still trying to get ahold of the warranty company. In the meantime, I took the pictures and videos and sent them to the warranty company. They said one of the videos was too big and could not be accepted through a link. So, I took the video and broke it down myself. In January I finally got a call from AMY - the new service manager saying that the repair was finally approved by the warranty company (no thanks to anyone at MINI) but it is going to cost me $1000 (in spite of my $100 deductible) I just said OK and didn't want to rock the boat any more at this point. Once my car was done, I got a call from Justin the Service Manager(#3). I asked for the total cost, and was quoted $1800+ - I asked for a detailed breakdown of the charges. (I had asked Amy what the cost would be to replace the door handles and made it clear I did not want them replaced at this time.) Part of the charges were for the door handles. I told him about my conversation with Amy and what she had quoted me, and I specifically declined to have the door handles replaced but Amanda had said they would change the battery in the fob at no charge. He did get by bill down to $687 and said they would pay for the door handles. But the breakdown is still not clear, because of the miss-handling of the entire process. After appointment summary: Car is no longer farting blue smoke. Door handles not replaced or fixed, battery not changed in fob. Amanda and Amy were let go, Mia quit without notice. Talked to both Justin the Service Manager about the fob and door handles not being fixed. He just made note. Talked to Jarrod the Service Advisor who is now in charge of my car from here on out. He had moved into another position hence me getting stuck with Amanda but is now back. He will replace the battery in my fob at no charge and will get back to me on the door handles. Justin is based out of Tacoma Mini and will take Jarrod with him when once he gets Seattle Mini back in order I guess as back in order as it can be. Not holding my breath - so I will take my car to Tacoma, if need be, to make sure Jarrod oversees all future needs even if it's an oil change. Without a doubt, Jarrod is the best service advisor I have ever had at any dealership. He is customer service focused if he ever quits, I will get rid of my mini and never purchase another one again. read more

Researching what's out there, reading Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Road and Track, was a blast, and I usually ended up with some weird foreign car or something I was proud of. It was fun. Now, the internet is filled with ersatz reviews, paid critiques, whom you can't trust and earn a living by providing bogus reviews. Car dealerships claim to be "no hassle," with honest car sales people, giving the buyer all the "real" numbers so you know the profit the dealership is making. Wrong!!!! More subterfuge is used than ever. Technology has allowed these snake oil sales people to manipulate buyers from coast to coast. It is a horrible experience, and I feel like putting on my old boxing gloves pulling into any car dealership lot. That's why I am giving Logan Espinoza at Seattle Mini five stars. He was laid back, letting both my wife and I time with the car on our own. He knew I read everything about the car, but provided some caveats he felt I should be aware of. Caveats, from a car salesman? I may not buy a Mini. My driving needs have changed and I'm very confused, but Logan made the experience less stressful. I thank him for that. Writing to complain about service from Seattle Mini (11550 Lake City Way NE Seattle, WA 98125). I was forced to order two new key fobs because the batteries are not replaceable at over $200 each. However, one of the key fobs would not activate the doors or radio. After multiple calls to the service department I was told to bring the vehicle and the fobs in for service. At that point I was told that the "CAS" had a limited capacity to store keys and that the vehicle would have to reprogrammed to accept the new key fobs at a cost of $270. Complaint to the service manager that I should not be required to pay for the reprogramming were met with deaf ears. I should have been informed when I purchased the key fobs that reprogramming may be required and that the vehicle should have been brought with me to pick up the fobs to verify operation. Instead, after frustration over several months and a long trip back to the dealer (they are NOT conveniently located) I'm now being charged again along with the waste of my time. VERY unhappy with the lack of proactive service from the dealer and no consideration to try to make things right with even the slightest discount. read more

Conveniently my car acted up less than one block away from the mini Cooper store conveniently the thing that was wrong with my car was not covered under my warranty but the staff was great and got me in and out rapidly with a loaner it only cost me $400 and some change in a couple days worth with a loaner but besides that it's a nice clean location easy to get too friendly staff very helpful of course the prices are jacked up 110% but that's a cost when you go to a dealership so if you do go make sure you eat as much free snacks as you want because you definitely going to pay for them read more

I have been a customer since 2010 and I have my third MINI. I just had the worst service experience with Jorge. Long story short, he did zero communication with me when there is problem servicing my car and I had to work with the service manager/the technician directly and I had to spend my time to help them diagnose my car when I am paying their super inflated price. In addition, I think the service department has a big underlying problem. The service department change faces so often that yearly maintenance I won't recognize any of them. And now I look at other's review and I see many different names for service advisors and yet I can't find them in their website. I am not going back to this place. read more

I went here to purchase my first Mini Cooper and my salesman Dee was very nice and made sure I got what I wanted and that I got the promotional discounts. The whole process day of picking up my ordered car took forever though, and I wish there had been more excitement with actually seeing the car. It took almost 3 hours to finish the paperwork. Part of it was my fault otherwise they would get 3 stars, but it took sooooo long I only got about 20 mins with the car, so that is not why it took a long time. Also, it wasn't perfectly shiny or washed so that was not ideal. I ordered this car special from the factory, and they just didn't make it feel special. I was not a big fan of the guy that I signed the paperwork with. He was not professional and just gave me kind of a bad feeling. He also made a super inappropriate joke with my mom, which was just rude, honestly. Also I was paying cash for the car and I said that upfront, but I still tried to get sold a lease and financing. Honestly, I wish I had gone to fife where my mom had bought our other Mini Cooper just because of the experience of just picking up the car. I had a way better experience picking up my Golf from Chaplin's (now Michaels) - they made it feel special and signing the paperwork and showing me the car took less than an hour. That being said, Dee was great and knew a lot about the car. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I also love driving the car and it's a perfect size and upgrade for me from my Golf. read more

However, this last visit will likely be the last as they charged $250/hr just to diagnose the issue and there is a two hour minimum. Experienced blatant sexism, ageism, and pressure to buy after the terms of our agreement were changed. Felt safe as women & members of the LGBTQ+ community but ended our visit feeling disrespected, unsafe, & belittled. My partner & I came in looking to purchase a CPO mini. We wanted to put down 75% of the payment & finance the rest. Worked with Kelli, who was really wonderful, and even ended up starting the paperwork when she returned letting us know that the APR we were working off was actually going to be tripled at the least due to the fact that we were new car owners. After spending over two hours at the dealership, getting a trade in offer about half of what the car was worth, and paying 2K more for the car then what they're charging for it at NW Mini (and 2k more than the kelly blue book price) we wanted to leave and have some time to think about it. Especially because now it seemed like getting the remaining 25% through a bank loan would be a better option. Kelli brought out their finance guy to try & explain to us some other options. This is where it all went sour. We were willing to make the transaction at 2k more than we could get in Fife,WA because working with Kelli was nice & we didn't want to deal with the hassle of selling our car elsewhere and haggling. As two women we felt like we were in good hands & believed her when she said this was the best offer (of course we found out about the NW Mini Dealership's price afterwards.) When the finance guy came in we let him talk because we wanted to make sure all the papers we signed were void since they listed the wrong APR & they were now changing it, but every time I tried to ask about it he spoke loudly & frantically over me. He then went on to explain that my partner (the one putting down 15k with a tier 1 credit score mind you) was just "a little girl with a little credit card and little credit history" and began to motion with his fingers how small she was. At the point I grabbed my purse, asked Kelli for my car keys back, and told him that as a woman I was deeply insluted that he called my girlfriend a "little girl" to which he retorted "that's not what I meant" "you just want to be mad." and on and on. He then asked in a condescending tone if we knew that we were not purchasing the car and tried to scare us into staying by saying "well what if this car is gone tomorrow." Don't worry, buddy. That car has been listed on your site for at least two weeks, you have several others of that model out on the lot, and the same one is at the NW dealership! The truth is, I tried to ask for air & space so my girlfriend and I could consult on this alone. I tried to say that we needed to leave to have a bite and think about it. And in his panic he grew more & more aggressive. He monopolized our time, spoke over us, disrespected us, and lost the sale for his co-worker. At first, I wasn't speaking loudly enough because I didn't want to be rude, Kelli spent a lot of time with us. But after the little girl comment & spewing out different tactics as if we were completely clueless, I had, had enough. The only way to get out of that situation was to be direct & more forceful. And that is not a safe environment. I will not tolerate a grown, white man talking like that. Not to anyone. I don't know if his actions were motivated by her age, sexuality, gender, or race but that dynamic is unacceptable. It is 2019, you are in Seattle, we demand better. Kelli apologized as she walked us out and was very kind to us as we left. She seemed very embarassed & I appreciate that she grabbed our keys when she did. I also understand why she was unable to step in during the conversation. We tried to report to the incident over the phone to the manager but he has yet to return my calls. We were disappointed to not leave with a car, frustrated that our time was wasted, and angered that we dealt with such aggressive, sexist, and ageist belittlement. Had a deal lined up with Chris Kosoff for my grandparents to purchase a 2019 Ford Flex as this was the absolute perfect replacement for their 2007 Ford Freestyle. Has all the creature comforts they wanted but also kept the same platform to allow them to have a seamless transition into a the final car they will buy before they have to stop driving due to age. I spoke with Chris Kosoff and he agreed this was the prefect car for them. We had plans to come down on the weekend. Chris said this was not an issue as I would be going with them to help with the process. We tried to make a deposits, but were told we are not really doing that, but not to worry as Chris said, "I have the keys this is the prefect car for them from what you said. I'm not going to let anyone else sell it". I even told Chris if something changes let me know and I will try and have another family member go with them to make sure it doesn't sell. I was again reassured not to worry. Well the next day Friday evening Chris emails me saying, "So I wanted to tell you that the flex sold today. I tried to keep it but customer was here. Would they take a Subaru Outback?". Chris Kosoff is the very reason car sales people have a reputation. Just putting the facts out there of course he tried to save face and make himself feel better with all the excuses, but that's all they are. It pains me to give this place even 1 star. I have an older mini and took it in a few months back to get serviced. They said I had a 'possible' oil leak and wanted to charge me over $7k to fix along with all of these other issues they found. Just took my car to another shop that specializes in minis for an inspection, and it came back with zero issues and that my car was in great shape. DO NOT take your mini here for service unless you want to be robbed of your money. read more

I made a appointment 2:30 Pm then I got there 2:10 pm I'm trying check in and I was standing 5 mins then one service advisor asking other service advisor to take my appointment. He had very rode attitude. He got my key then "oh did you come here before? Because your key could read it" I told him Yes I come in every time my car need to maintain. Then he didn't explain or told me what he is doing. I waiting 10 min more then "anything wrong with key or my appointment?" He said "No" then no conversation between us. Totally I was waiting 50 minutes then I decided go home he said "I'm printing paper work" I upset because when I complained also manager confirm my session start 2:45 on the paper which is he printed. So that mean he is doing nothing until 2:45 just asking " did you come here before?"
