First time at Edwards Auto Service. Bill is a great front desk person and been at Edwards for 30 plus years, so he knows autos and knows how to communicate clearly about auto problems and fixes. I brought my 1995 Chevy S-10 in for front end alignment and they took care of the problem in 3-1/2 hours. Nice not to have to drop the car off all day. A piece of debris came loose from a huge semi truck. My car's underside was struck and the debris was caught. I can hear something is being dragged on the freeway pavement. It was very scary. Long story short, I drove to Edwards and asked for help. A gentleman named Bill dropped what he was doing and helped me out despite he had other tasks scheduled. He offered to hoist up the car and checked the issues. He ended up fixing it for me and won't take money from me. He just said he wish me a better morning. As a female I want to say how much I appreciate the honesty of this shop and the extra effort to try and keep cost low. Bill at the service desk was great to deal with, explained everything in great detail (way more than most shops would to a woman) and was pretty spot on with his off the top of his head figures. They even caught some stuff that the ins adjuster and I missed and were willing to take the extra time to call my insurance and let them know what they found. What was great is they were even able to get it fixed that day when I didn't even have an appointment and showed up on their door step mid morning unannounced. Now, granted, it's an older vehicle that doesn't have all the latest electronics that make it a PIB to get parts for and work on but it's one of the reasons I like my vehicle. I gave Bill ~$1,000 worth of business in 2022.. he seemed like a scammer then but I wasn't sure and didn't know where else to go, so I took my car back to him to resolve why my engine light was coming on and my car occasionally rumbling. I brought it to loyal automotive in shoreline after Edwards wanted to charge me $2,000 to replace ALL coils, cylinders and spark plugs.. they were clearly trying to rip me off because the car is a 2017 with only $61,000 miles on it. I then went to loyal, explained what happened at edwards, and they also decided to rip me off by replacing all spark plugs and a coil.. they charged me $600 for this. Finally, I found an awesome mechanic on aurora. He told me I got ripped off, said the replacing the spark plugs wasn't even necessary, then replaced another one of my coils for only $70 !!!! Unfortunately there are a lot of awful, lying and scamming me mechanics out there, but I'm glad I finally found one that seems decent and fair. They will continue to get my business unlike edwards and loyal. read more

We were visiting our daughter in Seattle area for a few days and we found that she had not kept her vehicle in good shape. We were so lucky to find Bill at Edwards Auto service. We explained out situation and Bill fit us right into his busy schedule since we had only a few days staying here. He immediately pinpoiinted the issue and did an phenomenal job on the repair. We also had some body repair needs that Bill does not do. He went extra miles to refer us to a body shop and took time to research on the itemised costs and called to let us know exactly what needed to be done. We have had several things repaired on our RV. The AC was damaged and got a new one. The ceiling fan didn't work and leaked so that got fixed. The hot water pump didn't work on electricity so that is being repaired now. read more

Unlike some shops that only work on certain brands, Edwards Automotive does it all. I've brought my Audi A4, Toyota Highlander and Jeep Wrangler in for oil changes, brake jobs, alignments, etc. and they always do an outstanding job at a very fair price. Since it seems like this place has gone a while without a review, I figured I'd chime in with my experience. I was referred to this place by someone who works at an auto parts store I frequent because I was looking for a good, honest place to take my car for maintenance. Thankfully, Edwards Automotive has been great. Although I've only come here for 2 oil changes, they've helped me get things checked without trying to "push" a service onto you. I had a question about my front brakes and I was told that although they're almost ready to be replaced, they only offered their advice without adding any pressure for you to buy into it. You'd be hard-pressed to find an honest mechanic nowadays. They work rather quickly without you needing to wait weeks before an appointment and the people are understanding and caring. In case you are wondering how much I pay for my oil changes: $130, including labor, 1 oil filter and 7 quarts of oil. Long story short, when my brakes are ready for service, I know who I'm calling. read more

The people here lied to me. I have a Mitsubishi. The first time I had my car in service with them, they found that one of the ignition coil was bad. I got it fixed. Next time my car again had a problem and didn't run; went there again and they said there was another ignition coil that looked bad. So I got it fixed it again. Again about a a month after the car had a problem. This time I actually went to Mitsubishi dealer repair shop and they found that the first ignition coil the Edwards people replaced was bad and they actually used the same coil. Didn't change the coil they said was bad. They charged me extra for nothing. They basically lied. read more

We lost an ID inside our car door by dropping it through the window crack. Since we're on a road trip, we needed the ID and we're crunched for time. The first time I came here was for a total tune-up, and it was just like everyone else has described. A year later I had to be towed back to the shop after a tune-up because they forgot to re-attach the charcoal canister and evaporative system to the fuel tank. Then I brought the car in for a wheel bearing replacement, brake pad inspection and tire rotation. They made me walk back and pick it up; John said he drove it and there's nothing wrong with the wheel bearings and "the tires are right where they need to be." They didn't check the brakes or even put it on the lift. Two weeks later I was back, forced one of the mechanics ride with me, and he immediately agreed I needed a wheel bearing. I insisted on the tire rotation, they did the work and I hit the road to discover a dangerous vibration at freeway speeds. Went to the tire shop where I purchased the tires the previous summer, they discover all my wheel weights had been pried off. Did they notice this at Edwards and choose not to tell me? Here's where things get criminally stupid. I had been experiencing symptoms of a vacuum leak, intermittent stalling when it's cold and surging at stoplights. Having a ton of medical and moving expenses at the time, I didn't have the luxury of putting it into the shop right away. Big mistake, it stalled on a hill and I lost the vacuum boost in the brakes, resulting in a low-speed crush of the radiator and water pump into a reinforced steel truck bumper. Towed to Edwards, where it sat until I could scrape together the cost of getting it back on the road. Months later, they call and tell me it's ready to pick up. It was not ready. IT WAS TRASHED! The outside mirror had been broken completely off the side of the car, the interior was stripped of all the console inserts and dash parts, and there was a massive oil stain on the passenger floor mat. John first accused me of trashing my own vehicle, then suggested I tape a mirror on the broken remains of the outside assembly. I asked if they were going to call the police to report the vandalism, and then they not only REFUSED TO REPORT THE CRIME, they said I needed to report the new damage to MY INSURANCE COMPANY, as if it didn't happen in their yard. I had to argue with them that it was not legal or safe to drive, and they agreed to replace the outside mirror so I could drive it home. Wait, folks, it gets better. Days later I pick up the car, and they tell me they're going to add the cost of replacing the mirror that was ripped off the car while in THEIR custody to MY bill. I got my car out of their yard before anything else happened to it, and called for legal assistance. Despite telling them about the vacuum leak THREE TIMES, they tested the brake fluid pressure TWICE and didn't look for a vacuum leak even ONCE. That problem still persists, as I just wasted all my money with these crooks and can't afford to have somebody competent look at it. Before I could get an appointment with a lawyer, I got a call from John informing me that they're going to write off the cost of the outside mirror. How very magnanimous of you, now GIVE ME BACK MY INTERIOR PARTS. Some of them I can't find unless I break into some other impoverished person's older car. People who think they can take advantage of the poor and disabled, criminals who think we don't have the resources to fight back... will be getting letters from lawyers. read more

I had a buyer's inspection on my car today. Bill performed the service. He happens to be the owner of the auto service shop. He took time to listen to my concerns and went through various pieces explaining the condition each part was in. I was very surprised to find out my car didn't need work done besides an air conditioning component replacement in the near future. Many places will over-exaggerate issues in order to make a buck. I found Edward's to be an honest place of business. The location was very convenient. They happen to be located on the same lot as the new Chick-fil-A on Aurora there in Seattle. All of the staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. I believe I found a place I can trust to take my vehicles for service or repair if needed. As a guy who doesn't really know a whole lot about cars, I need a mechanic who can tell me what I need to know, in plain English, and give me clear choices as to what work needs to be done. I took my junker into Edward's Automotive and spoke with Bill McFarland (I think that was his name...) and told him I needed to decide whether the amount of work it needed exceeded the value of the car. He went above and beyond the call of duty, and I eventually kept the car and he cleaned up a few error codes and did some light maintenance. He really went over my car with a fine tooth comb and gave me straight answers to my questions. The end charge was reasonable and my car is running great (for a junker!). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Edward's Auto and Bill if you need a reliable, honest mechanic who knows what he is doing, and actually cares about your car. read more

I brought my 1999 Corolla in because I could not open the driver's door from the inside of the car. Also, the front passenger seat door handle needed repair. The original diagnosis of the driver's door was that it needed a new door latch. (Dealer price for part: $560) The first mechanic I took it to gave me an estimate of $532.17 for both doors. Bill at Edwards looked at it and told me it was not the door latch that needed to be replaced, but the only door handle. (Estimate: $356) Judy in the office was very courteous to me and efficient in finding the part. I took the car in the next day, and the car now has two perfectly working handles in the front. Final cost: $303.21. Judy was able to find the parts for less money so the price came down even further. Happy? YES! This place suck ass, qoted me $500 then it jumped to $900 then $2300 all they did was waste my time and money. Once they saw my car was a Corvette, they sized me up thinking I must be a rich guy. Really pissed me off, i took my car to another shop that completed the repairs for $600 same day. Few people know that repair manuals indicate a reasonable time frame for how long a job should take to complete, these guys are big time rip offs and their clock hours for labor well exceed any reason. They will take advantage of you with no conscience. This is one of those shops that will disassemble and disable your vehicle and hold your vehicle hostage if they feel they can get more money from you. Beware! read more
