Seattle Seafood Center was such a great find--one of those unexpected gems you stumble upon while looking for parking for a nearby restaurant. What immediately caught our attention (for obvious reasons) was the bold sign: LIVE KING CRAB. We walked in and were instantly impressed. Large water tanks filled with live Dungeness crab and live king crab, crystal-clear water, and absolutely no fishy smell--always an excellent sign. The space feels more like a clean, well-run warehouse set up for both wholesale and retail, not a typical seafood market. A gentleman working there quickly came over and started chatting with us about crab. Super knowledgeable and friendly. They offer a wide selection: live, fresh, and frozen crab, Japanese scallops, fish, and a variety of shellfish. We considered the live king crab, but it was honestly too big for the two of us to handle in a hotel kitchen--and definitely would've been a splurge. So, plan B: I called my sister-in-law to see if she'd like some frozen king crab legs. She said yes immediately. The gentleman showed us the frozen options, and the king crab legs were long, meaty, and impressive--similar in size to what Costco carries, but priced better. We ended up negotiating a great deal and purchased a box of their Party Pack King Jumbo Crab Legs for her. Later that evening, she surprised her daughter with a king crab birthday dinner, and they reported the legs were super meaty and absolutely delicious. Safe to say, we'll definitely keep Seattle Seafood Center in mind for future seafood splurges. If you love high-quality seafood and especially crab, this place is worth a stop--even if it's an unplanned one. read more

I accidentally found this spot while trying to get to Alki beach. Missed my exit off the freeway and was turned around in what I now have figured out is Georgetown. The signage on this place is huge and caught my attention. So many seafood choices! Live, Frozen, high quality seafood. The gentleman, named Randy, was super helpful. And his name is Randy, come on! If you know me, you what this means to me. Anyway, seriously a super awesome spot to buy crab, tuna, scallops, shrimp, dungeness crab, red king crab and wine. He pulled out a huge live red king crab from a nearby tank and I nearly died! I legitamately screamed as I had never seen such a huge crab in person before. I purchased one leg cooked and ready to dismantle later at home. The store is in a sort of warehouse type spot with a huge parking lot. Outside is the future beer/wine garden with a food truck. Not the place you want to visit. First of all, customer service is non-existent. The guy who looked like a manager is rude and unprofessional. Also, the staff seem very poorly informed about the products they are selling or they are knowingly selling bad seafood. Second, the pre-cooked King crab legs were yellow inside and inedible. How can you sell such a bad product to customers?! On top of that, the meat sticks to the shell, which is not supposed to happen! The meat is stringy and feels like it's been sitting in the freezer for years. Very poorly set-up store, lots of frozen seafood and nothing fresh, except their "freshly" cooked King crab legs that I bought. Not sure what is so "fresh" about them... read more

Bought little over 3lbs of king crab. What I thought was a great deal wasn't. There was crab meat inside, however, every opening revealed stringy meat stuck almost completely to shell. The meat I could get out was broken down due to the stringiness. I guess you get what you pay for, it wasn't the anniversary crab meal I promised my wife. Sorry, I didn't take pictures this time. We snagged a couple of Too Good To Go bags from them and the quality was great. With this method you don't know what you will get but we got some absolutely massive spot prawns, a Chilean bass steak, seafood dumplings, and another good sized amount of shrimp all for $20. The store was super clean and the staff was really friendly and helpful. If you're not familiar with Too Good To Go it's a food waste app that helps reduce waste while supporting local businesses, pretty cool and would absolutely get more from them in the future. read more

So sad. This is typically my favorite place to get crab. I tell everyone about this place. In the past I have gotten the frozen colossal King Crab legs. They are HUGE! One is more than a meal with a salad. The guys working the counter hard sold me the crab in the "fresh" display. NEVER AGAIN. Don't get "sold." read more

This is my absolute go to for seafood! I love these guys. Our household has been shopping with them since 2020 and reccomend them to everyone we know. They have a unique frozen crab from Alaska that is our absolute favorite. Best crab we've ever had! To the point we send them as gifts to relatives during the holidays. We've also purchased scallops from them that were HUGE and tasted amazing (sweet, just the right firmness after cooking, and beautiful color). The staff is my favorite part, super friendly, makes you feel like part of the family. Exactly what you look for when you choose to shop a local, small business. It isn't a cheap experience, however, because a lot of the packages are quite large. It's also not your typical looking storefront and looks more like a place open to the trade. Was greeted by a friendly employee named Randy who immediately told me I didn't need to wear a mask ( I kept it on). They have several large tanks with live lobster, Dungeness crab and snow crab. They also have a case in the front with steamed and ready to eat crab/lobster. There were few fun things to see, like a giant 5 pound lobster tail and Randy showed me the tanks. I took home a package of salmon, the exact same brand the QFC sells but I paid three dollars more. The Dungeness crab I got was about $30 and tasted/snarled a day or two old. They can't clean/crack them since they don't have the permit. I don't really see myself coming back considering the price vs. quality. I've eaten a lot of crab in my life, even had (better) crab last night for dinner! Theirs was definitely on the lower end of quality. If you decide to check it out, I would recommend you choose a live crab or lobster to ensure freshness. read more
