Nice casual atmosphere, a relatively small, but interesting, beer list, sporting events (including NFL Sunday mornings), good (but not fancy) food, and prices that are not crazy (which is the problem with a lot of JLS). Came here on a Sunday during their happy hour (big plus that they have it on the weekend as well). Greeted right away, and the service was great. Everyone we talked to was extremely helpful and had a smile on their face. We ordered some beers and bites. The wings are out of this world, and HUGE. You literally get the wing and drumstick so when it says 3, it's more like 6! The quinoa and sweet potato fritters were super tasty as well as the fried pickles. I absolutely love this place. The building has an open feel and a classic look. The staff are all hard working and welcoming. The food is all delicious and very fairly priced. Another great visit at the Seawolf. Very strong selection of beers on tap and their $2 tacos on Tuesdays are awesome. Get one of each - do not skip the cauliflower or mushroom tacos. I was super hopeful based on the pictures but everything that was brought to me was messy. Water had pepper flakes in it, my avocado had onion skin and some other weird stuff on it and my breakfast had onion strips that were mostly onion skin. What a hidden neighborhood gem! In Jack London Square neighborhood, but not on the waterfront. Totes worth the nav to 4th Street, just a few blocks away, nestled between Blue Bottle Coffee and the "Something to Sell About" estate sale warehouse. I had (and highly recommend) the South Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich. Yum! The french fries that accompanied it were also really good. Appetizer fried green beans with vinaigrette were equal parts tasty and nutritious. Try the local Alameda-made soft drinks! And, although not on the extensive beer and wine menu, try a drink from their full bar! Hugo was very knowledgeable, personable, and attentive, on the service side. Came here on a lunch break last week with a co worker. Walked in and was greeted intermediately, told to sit wherever we wanted. The busser came over to ask us what we wanted to drink and brought water. We had to ask for our waiter 2 times before she finally walked over. I ordered the single patty burger and she got the fried chicken sandwich. Both were good and we were satisfied. Not an excellent place for lunch but if we have the time again, we will probably go back. I feel this place is better as a bar, walk in grab a beer and watch the game. As a former Warehouse regular, I'm really pleased with how things have come together. The building looks fantastic. They did a great job with the restoration of an historic victorian in the JLS district. The menu is simple, includes quality ingredients; and everything I've tried has been delicious. I went with a friend and my husband, we were excited to try this place out. We sat at a high top bar, greeted very nicely and the host brought water quickly - he had told us the server would be right with us. We waited for about 10-15 minutes (the host even brought us more water and we asked for our server) we watched him tell the server we were ready, the server looked at us and continued helping other tables...even left the room. We gave the host a little cash for his efforts - needless to say, bad impression, service is everything....we won't be back. read more

Had a great experience here. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive even though we were sitting outside with our dog and they brought water for her without asking. Drinks were great and had the best fish tacos ever! I would argue that the fish tacos are the best in the Bay Area. read more

My review goes 50/50! I LOVE the food particularly the brussels sprouts and the tacos! They have a good beer selection and some mixed drinks but the service doesn't meet minimum requirements for just ordering, receiving drink/food and being able to pay for it. As mentioned the food is awesome and the place is chill and all the times I've been there it hasn't been too busy or crowded but have always had an issue completing the transaction. I don't require special service or any extra attention just the basic: order drinks bring drinks, take food order bring food, ask about another beverage and close out the check. It seems the followup steps are often overlooked where in a place like a bar you would encourage additional drinks to be ordered to both benefit the establishment and the gratuity of the individual(s) serving. The more concerning step missed has been receiving the check. I have sat at a table full of empty plates and beer glasses, obviously finished or in need of a refill but no acknowledgment each time I have been here. I have been given several opportunities to just walk out unpaid with the lack of awareness from the staff, but I like the food enough to want to feel like I could come back. A group of us goes to Seawolf on Tuesday nights for their "Taco Tuesday". The tacos are only $2.00 a piece and are always very good. The problem is that they do not have enough help working and the service is horrible. In fact, one person in our party NEVER got any dinner. Came in on a Wednesday evening to watch a Warriors game. They have a healthy selection of beers and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! Wings were huge and really good. Glad this place replaced the old Warehouse. Good food, great bar. Brunches are excellent and lots of TVs for watching games. We really enjoy coming here, only suggestion is better staffing on big spots weekends as it can get really crowded and not enough servers. We found this place sort of by accident and when we walked in I was a little surprised. I didn't expect it to be so clean for bar and I mean clean, there was no dust anywhere and my feet didn't stick to anything, and the carpet didn't have food stuck to it, the tables weren't sticky, the seats were clean. Placed my order, the waiter was pleasant and patient and if you met my partner you would know why I said, patient. The food, excellent! After a terrible experience at a near by restaurant in Alameda, we stumbled upon this gem in Oakland.. This place was amazing. Great vibe, quite, and amazing food. The wife an I shared the Brussels sprouts, tachotes, and sweet potatoes and quinoa fritters. The Brussels sprouts are to die for!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned to a T!! The tachotes we're delicious, nor oily at all and they give you a big ole portion!! The sweet potatoes fritters we're unique but not my favorite. Our waiter Eric was AMAZING and very helpful!! Great spot for a beer. Rich with history, I split the Korean fried chicken sandwich and the burger with a friend. Visiting the Seawolf Restaurant in April 2017, we were 5 ondividuals that received Awsome service. We selected a hamburger, Korean chicken, mushrooms burger and 1bplate of carnitas. All The food was great and enjoyed by everyone on the party. The service was greatly appreciated and having the opportunities to meet and have a conversation with the owner, Monica Plazola. We would highly recommend the Seawolf for anyone looking to eat quality food. We are looking forward to our next visit, which probably be for Father's Day. Thought we'd give this newer spot a try, we'd kept putting it off. Came in for a late lunch on a Saturday. It was slowing down, likely due to later hour for lunch crowd. We found a table, and...no one came to serve us...for a long time. Long enough that my husband walked up to the bar to order a beer. A server type had walked by but only looked toward his other tables--was he clocking out soon? Do they not really have table service here? Husband brought back menus from the bar to our table. Finally, a supervisor type became our waiter. She said the other server was having some sort of difficulty with the computer. Not sure why he couldn't have at least greeted us with a menu. Overall, she was fine as a server. Our nachos and tacos were good, and the kitchen's speed was good. However, I am extremely disappointed and borderline embarrassed that I had to change my baby's diaper not once, but twice on the floor of the restaurant because they don't have a baby changer in the women's bathroom! What gives? They have space for two stalls, including one handicapped accessible. There was plenty of wall space for a changer either in that stall or out. Had the restaurant been busier, I'm sure this would have not thrilled other patrons. These things cost less that $250 to purchase. Shame on this pub for not installing one. There were multiple families there while we were. It's not like this is a 21+ bar that we smuggled our baby in to. Kids of a variety of ages in there at lunch time. Very disappointing, and honestly if that's what I'll have to go through, why would I go back? read more
