The referral was written in 2019 when I wanted to get braces but I chickened out. Unfortunately, cavities started developing on all the wisdom teeth over the last two years to the point where I noticed my breath did not feel clean even after brushing, flossing and mouth rinse. I decided to come in for a consult to get my questions answered. Dr. Jiries Mogannam provided my consult. He answered all my questions and gave me my options. He explained to me that the wisdom tooth can give me more issues down the line even if I can patch up all the cavities now. His main concern was the oral hygiene of my mouth and to protect the nearby molars from decay that could be spread from the wisdom teeth. He was not pushy, I left informed and empowered to take the next step. Plus, I still wanted braces so it makes sense to get the surgery. The surgery was quick and painless because I was out! I was filled with anxieties the day before and even while sitting in the chair but I knew it needed to be done. I was in and out in a hour. The recovery was painful and that was expected. I followed all the instructions given in terms of oral care and food choices. Water has come out my nose whenever I rinse my mouth or drink liquids since then. Nobody found a reason, even after a couple CAT scans. My neighbor recommended Dr. Mogannam. He suggested removing the implants. A photo from a scan showed where an implant had pierced my sinus. When he removed the implants it was quite evident. He cleaned and stitched the opening closed and rebuilt bone. I am so excited. Everyone was so caring, and helpful. Should you select Santa Rosa Oral Surgery for a procedure you'll find easy access and ample (usually door front) parking. Reception is very efficient and pleasant to deal with. Reception room is pleasant as well but you won't be there long. All my visits have found SROS to be very timely. First visit is meeting your doctor for a concise analysis of what procedure you need, informing you of just what that procedure entails, while ending with staff lining up any insurance you may have and giving you your next appointment. During the actual procedure I had forgotten how many assistants are used and was momentarily afraid that they were there to hold me down! Hah! Hardly. Extremely efficient, each person has their duties and the process is the proverbial well oiled machine with Dr Tyco explaining each step along the way. As quick and painless a dental procedure as I've ever had. A prescription for pain meds was provided but unnecessary. All I felt was a bit of sensitivity for a couple days. Just as my first visit. I had no cavities or any real problems but she still managed to project horror at the state of my perfectly fine teeth. At check out the office assistant told me I needed to book a 4 appointment round of scaling and root planing--which was not discussed during my visit other than the doctor saying "you could develop gum disease" not that there were any signs of it at the time. I booked the appointments but it didn't feel right. Why do invasive procedures on healthy gums? I canceled the appointments and didn't go back. 10 years later I'm extremely happy because I have no gum disease and haven't had as much as a cavity since that appointment. Sometimes invasive dental work can cause much more harm than good if not needed. And why be so condescending about a perfectly healthy mouth? None of it makes sense. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this practice unless they have made major changes.

Pappas, DDS, MD, JD for an emergency tooth abstraction that was fractured and infected. I had already seen Endodonics and dental. My pain was severe. I completed the medical history evaluation and reported a history of allergic reactions to many medications. John R. Pappas, DDS, MD, JD looked at my tooth for five seconds told me encouragingly he need a Kaiser Release of Medical Evaluation based on a pre-existing condition and he would treat me in a few days. He handed me the signed form to take to Kaiser. Kaiser informed the hand writing was scribbled and could not be understood. The office medical billing staff reviewed the cost with me and told me it could take weeks or months for Kaiser to respond. She signaled to a multitude of patient files telling me they were all waiting for care, because of Kaiser. I contacted Kaiser and got information about the process for the form. I called Dr. John Pappas office staff and gave them the correct fax for Kaiser ROI (877) 620-3209 and asked if they could fax the form with legible hand writing. They never did. All this done with severe tooth pain. To find out John R. Pappas, DDS, MD, JD was scheduled to be out of the office for weeks, they never faxed the form to the correct Kaiser number, they had no intention of treating me because of my health history. The dentist was pretty dismissive of my concerns at the initial consult for my wisdom teeth removal; I wrote this off as being due to my own nervousness about the procedure. Then, Limchaseng prescribed me medication that I was allergic to, and it took two weeks of (mostly unreturned) phone calls for me to get that straightened out. He claimed that I probably wasn't really allergic, and that it would be fine: I had to insist to get a different medication prescribed. The bigger issue, though, had to do with extremely shady financial dealings. The first thing I had asked was whether they accepted my insurance; I was assured over and over again that they did. Then, when I came in to pay the deposit, they did a complete bait and switch. They waited until I had paid $600 deposit, and then demanded an additional $3,000 dollars seconds later, and said they would not perform the surgery unless I paid it, claiming that my insurance was unreliable. When I questioned the change, Limchaseng came out and was extremely unprofessional, asking me why I thought it was okay to not pay him and why I thought it was acceptable for him to not pay his staff a living wage(?). This all happened 5 days before my scheduled surgery: I had already taken time off from work, as had my partner, and I really needed to have the procedure done on the scheduled date. Luckily, Novato Oral Surgery had an opening on that date - they were kind, compassionate, and professional, and took excellent care of me. My insurance came through with no problem, and the total out of pocket cost was 1/3 what Limchaseng had initially charged for a "deposit." Also, Limchaseng exclusively hires young women, and calls everyone who works in his office as "his girls." These women seem to be good at their jobs, but the way he refers to them is very odd and off-putting: adult women are not children. Strongly recommend everyone pay attention to all the negative reviews here and find a different oral surgeon!
