The bowling itself was decent, but the women working in the food/bar area were unbelievably rude. From the moment we walked up, they had attitudes, were short with customers, and repeatedly raised their voices at people for no reason. It honestly felt like customers were an inconvenience to them. Watching them speak to multiple groups so disrespectfully completely ruined the atmosphere. A place that's supposed to be fun and welcoming shouldn't have staff treating people that way. This place is the best around! Unlike the place in Puyallup this alley has a ton of room to move around and not be crammed in there like sardines! The staff is awesome and the food is as good as your going to get from a bowling alley! Our go to local spot. This bowling alley is a small business ran by genuine people. The ambiance is friendly and accommodating. Make sure to call ahead to see if a lane is available. Essentially my entire bloodline of friends and peers from school came into this place idly loitering in their lobby while talking about getting a single lane. Secoma Lanes was extremely patient with our large group in both their restaurant + lounge and the bowling alley. One of my many many half brothers noted the lounge looked like a 70s Disney Sitcom Hangout set for all the main dialogue to occur between main characters, yet only to have gone bowling once in all 7 seasons. Their restaurant served us quickly and stupendously happily. The cashier for the restaurant was kind TO THE MAX! She was very kind and their sidewinder fries were awesome like a JoJo fry in a rad helicopter shape. Their retro carpet was perchance the most fun my eyes have had in all 18 years. All of the workers here have my very best salutations, I loved bowling here too! Their alley was inviting and they offer a very affordable experience. This is just your classic-neighborhood-vintage bowling alley. Went on a Monday night, spontaneously. It was about $7.75/game for one game so a little on the pricey side for 3 people. Just visiting from out of state -- I wish my home center was this nice! Plenty of lanes. The pinsetter was fast and flawless. The ball return was very quick. Front desk guy was super nice. Guy in the Pro Shop was very kind and helped my 70 year old dad when his thumb started sticking in his ball that he hasn't used in over 20 years. Great place. There is almost no time for walk ins to go bowling. Most of the time it is just closed down to hold practice for leagues. You either have to come in early in the morning or try to play in the last 30 minutes they are open during the weekdays. read more

I just learned that Secoma Lanes is for sale. This just saddens me but I understand nothing remains the same. I have fond memories of that place as a part time kitchen employee. I saw Rocky before he passed away and he was still as kind as ever. Kay was still alive as well but not there that day. He told me about the passing of his son Steve. Sad. I asked for Sharon be she was not there that day. Sharon and I had some fun times...Marilyns comes to mind. She made me a drink after work one day, a dirty mother and I had to get a ride home. We attended a birthday party here and I wish I would have read the reviews first because it would have tempered my blood pressure slightly...We had reservations and 3 lanes - 14 people (8 adults, 2 teenagers & 5 children). We arrived early and the first sign that caught me eye was "no outside food & drink" - we had brought in a bday cake & I had my bottled water. They ended up saying it was fine (the cake that is never asked about the water bottle but it was present the whole time). They were a little unfriendly when it was mentioned that our party would be paying individually so they just gave us our shoes & said to pay afterwards. We selected 2 games - the kids ended up taking a lane during the 2nd game & I requested the bumpers be set up - which they did so happily and quickly. The bowling alley portion was great - very clean and it was around $190 for our party to bowl 2 games (which we ended up covering). My main issue was the lack of customer service in the "diner" since the "bar" didn't open til 3 (our reservations were at 11:30). My husband and I wanted some Mimosas & screw drivers; however, to access the bar you had to go through the diner. I attempted to open the bar door & I was rudely informed that the "bar didn't open til 3"... She never offered us a drink to purchase so we walked out and returned to our party. No more that a couple of minutes later, my brother in law showed up with 2 Pendleton's on ice. I was royally ticked off ( 1 that he didn't get me a drink and 2 that the woman that was so rude to us had served him because he may have frequent that place before (I was visiting from out of town)). So another trek down the bowling alley (we had the last three lanes) and we were finally able to get some drinks (luckily not too high in price). We ended up going in there a few times and she became slightly less rude but definitely made me think about ever going there again - even for a family function. read more

Horrible Experience. A grown lady got up in my 14 year old brothers face because apparently her nephew was playing a game that was EMPTY when we put money into it. Her entire group was wasted and were acting like they just wanted to get into a fight. My mom politely told the lady that it wasn't right for her to be yelling at a kid and that she needed to talk to her as she is the mom. The woman started screaming profanities and not a single staff member stepped in. Her entire group especially the males kept coming up to us in a threatening manner. I would not recommend going especially if you have children as they do not seem to know how to control drunk patrons. My mom, my self, and my four underage siblings felt unsafe in this establishment. read more

Secoma Lanes is the bowling alley I go to once a week with the league I am in. The place seems a little on the old side but everyone here is so incredibly friendly and nice that work here. Secoma Lanes has a restaurant and a shop where you can purchase bowling balls and shoes. I have eaten at the restaurant. It is mostly hamburgers and such. Not a whole lot of frills but it does taste decent. It would not be complete without some beers on tap which they do have. They just so happen to have one of my favorite beers, Mac and Jacks! Most of the lanes here work ok. I am not a good bowler but I bowl with people that are. Their complaints are often that the wooden floors are sticky and the lanes uneven. I did not seem to notice until I bowled on some lanes I don't normally bowl on and it seemed like that it was not level. Overall though I think most of the lanes are ok. Secoma Lanes accepts only cash. So you will need cash for the general fee, shoe rentals and food. I am not sure if this also applies to the bowling shop or not. Best to just come prepared with cash. They do have an ATM if you do forget. read more

My husband and I came back here because Daffodil in Puyallup was too busy. We hadn't been since they remodeled. The lanes are great now and the seating layout is better than most alleys. They have way more open space to socialize between frames. The only really bad thing that would turn me off from going here is because they are CASH ONLY. A huge inconvenience when we forgot about that detail coming from Daffodil. We had to use their ATM- which included a fee and figure out how much to take out based on per-person per-game rate. No unlimited hour long bowling available. They did advertise some pretty good deals for their pro-shop on the overhead monitors. However it was a Sunday so the pro-shop was closed. =( read more

Wish I could give this place zero stars!! The restaurant people were racist!! We had a group of 25 people all Chicanos. (2nd generation Mexican Americans) we came after church to celebrate a birthday. They told us we HAD to pay for the food before they gave us the food...no duh!!! Then kept getting stares. I hadn't been to that bowling alley in over three decades and it hasn't changed much. The walls are the same. The old diner and worn-out bar are the same. Even the bathrooms and video game nook are exactly the same. The one thing that has changed is the automatic scoring. Back in my day, we had a stubby pencil and a piece of paper to keep score. And we hated it, dammit! Going macro here... I'm only a little grossed out by the whole shoe rental thing. What really squirms around inside my brain is the bowling ball holes. With every three-fingered insertion, my mind repeats "fecal matter" over and over like a song stuck in my head. The crowd was a good mix. The drink were cheap and the bowling was bowling. Seen this place many times while working in the area and after reading the reviews and being open minded thought I would check them out. Well it was a short stay and most reviews whether positive or negative are dead on. Yeah many locals, bar is out dated, cash only from what I saw and some staff members appeared ready for a stiff drunk and go home with scowls on their faces while another had some happy pills which seem to be a their peak performance. I have to say that my bowling scores are not great.... But the level of love and Compassion that I witnessed today gives me hope for Humanity! A group of special needs folks were in bowling center and then eating in the restaurant when one of them got a bloody nose. The lady "Karen" working in the restaurant took the time to make sure she was ok and taken care of. Even giving her a baggy of another tissue to take on the bus to go home. Then making sure they all got on the right buses. This was not her "JOB" But you can tell that she is truly an amazing individual and our world is better because she is it!
