Came to Brickyard Pub knowing full well this wasn't going to be a "craft cocktail with edible flowers" kind of night and honestly? That's exactly the charm. Yes, the tables are a little sticky. Yes, the floors have seen some things (just ask the bathroom). But if you walk in expecting a true dive bar experience, this place absolutely pours its heart out. The bartender (white guy, probably 40s/50s) was incredibly kind, attentive, and somehow managed to make everyone at the bar feel like regulars. As a 5'2 brown woman, I'm usually pretty aware of the vibe in places like this, but I genuinely felt comfortable the whole time. I wasss there with my 6'2 guy friend, which probably helped a bit, but overall the environment felt friendly, relaxed, and unpretentious. Also... the nachos? They haven't joined the current century, and although they advertise ToGo orders 7-days a week, they don't have a current menu online, they don't utilize GrubHub or DoorDash, and if you try to order over the phone, you are shamed for ordering from the "old menu" online that they have not updated. Oh and then they will hang up on you, but not before complaining at least 4 times about the line of people that your phone call is the cause for. 1. It's 2023, if you advertise ToGo, at minimum, update your menu online to coincide with your current offerings and prices. 2. If you claim to offer Togo 7-days a week, train your staff to not be rude and argue about the information made available online regarding your menu that the business has neglected to update. 3. Don't hang up on people mid-order. We had 4 people ordering food and 1 person declined to continue, based on the terrible service, out-of-date menu, and poor attitude of the employee, yet the employee threw a fit and hung up, canceling the order when really only 1 out of 4 were canceling. The ladies met for lunch and we saw the rib eyes being hauled out and put on the big rotisserie! We went the following Friday my husband had the prime rib and it was good, but I had the best rib eye I've had in years! Super unassuming dive bar from the outside. You would think it's a lot smaller than it is. When you walk in you expect to see a lot of greasy bikers and generally mean patrons, but this is far from their clientele. The people are your every day Joe's, coming in after work for a beer and a burger. And apparently their food is good, because EVERYONE IS EATING. It's actually two spaces that have been combined by the looks of it. On one side is the bar and some separate seats and tables that are made for agile people that can get up easily on stools. The other side is more subtle, with lower tables and chairs you can actually pull out and sit on. My only "complaint" in regard to this section is that if you sit on this side you are forgotten about easier, since the action is on the "bar side". I ordered the potatoes wedges, which I have to say, were awesome. Crispy on the outside and mushy cheesy goodness on the inside. As the name implies, there's a definite ghetto feel to the place that is commonly offset by the staff's efforts to decorate and come up with activities for fun. There are 2-3 of the servers there that are probably delightful. I just don't choose to play Russian roulette with who I might have as my server. If I ask for Prime Rib - Medium Rare, and it comes out gray, it should go back and you should have the grace to apologize,( the kitchen guys have on more than one occasion!) not that I need an apology, it just seems like good business practice. I should not be told that I am a problem. Heard from a friend that he waited an hour for a beer and his food last Friday, before he left also. Pay the extra $6-$8 get your Prime Rib the way you like it, with a fair amount of proper decorum, in a place that has proper servers, not swill sloshing barmaids.. I had a good time at this place. It is VERY "LOCAL." Me and my friend had some food there...it was standard bar fare. The bartender was nice. The crowd was a bit loud, seemingly full of regulars....this one lady sleezed over to our table and was blatently hitting on my friend until I busted out laughing and told her that he was my boyfriend....she was taken aback and exclaimed...."OH MY GOD, YOU GUYS ARE GAY?!" Clearing glasses from the bar by grabbing the inside of the dirty glasses, then grabbing to serve pull tabs, then making drinks. No sanitation seems to be in place here. Additionally, I walked in here once on a weekday afternoon and sat at a high top, no service through first 10 minutes so I walked out. Returning this last time I sat at the bar while the girl cashing out asked if I had been helped yet, I said no, and she said okay, without asking for any order. This is a very local dive bar. And perhaps one of the best things about it is it is easy walking distance from the house! The roommate and I decided to throw all caution to the wind after we made it out of the Castaway and stopped in the Brickyard. The place was packed! The bartenders were quick with service and we quickly got our beers. Even after we sat down the staff was always coming by and seeing if we needed anything. It was karaoke night. There was lots of rock, but it was all good. I think. I also think the same woman who was in Mark J.'s review was back again dancing with some guy. Technically, she was doing some weird hip sway while he was seated. Not too mention her faux fur coat was awesome. Apparently the ribeye steak special on Saturdays wasn't an ongoing thing. They're still available from the regular menu, just not as that night's special. Last Saturday was prime rib french dip, which makes sense with prime rib being the special on Fridays. My husband ordered it and said it was really good. The are a sports bar and it gets wild during Seahawk and Mariner games. The have Karoke and it is fun. Some good singers some not so good but always a great time.
