Second Brook: A Hidden Gem Worth Returning To We stumbled upon Second Brook while passing through the area, and what a discovery it turned out to be! Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall off the main drag, this cozy spot proves that appearances can be deceiving. Once inside, we were met with warm hospitality and a relaxed atmosphere that set the stage for an incredible dining experience. The food? Absolutely delicious and hearty. We tried the Meatball Parmesan Sub, Tuna Melt, and Meatloaf, and every bite was satisfying. The portions were so generous that we each had leftovers for dinner--always a bonus when the food is this good! The drinks were just as impressive, perfectly crafted and refreshing. We dropped in with another couple they wanted to try it out. Big sign on the building, hard to turn into that strip mall so we made a u-turn through chantilies entrance could use some pizzazz. Inside it's laid back we were greeted by the owner who explained the menu and specials. Server was very nice and efficient. The guys had the cowboy rib eye the girls had the seafood stuffed haddock and the salmon. House salads were great mixed greens the steaks were cooked perfectly the salmon and haddock were also fantastic. Server was on top of it came back to ensure everyone was happy and food was great kept our wine and beer filled. Price was very reasonable on par with the outstanding quality of the food. The apple crisp and ice cream were the perfect ending to a fantastic experience. We'll be back. Cheers read more

When it came out, the waitress told my wife "I feel so bad for you, we are out of basil. I don't know how good it will be, let me know. I feel so bad for you." If she knew one of the four main ingredients was missing, it could have been mentioned before making the dish so as to confirm that we still wanted that option. The dish was otherwise watery and not great. When the server came to take our plates, she should have also clocked that the meal was hardly touched. If you have to say "I feel bad for you" as you serve a customer their food, that's not a great sign. I ordered a steak and cheese which was very good. I ordered onion rings as a side. The server said "that'll be more expensive" as she walked away, despite the menu saying the meal came with the choice of one side. It didn't matter anyways, as my sandwich came with French fries instead of the onion rings I ordered. The French fries were very good, but not what I ordered. I ordered a flight of 6 tasters, and one came out empty. I was told "I don't have that one right now" by the server before she walked away, but not before she spilled the other beers as she put them down. I had to wait for her to come back and ask whether she was waiting for the empty beer to be tapped or if I was supposed to pick a new one, as it was unclear and she hadn't asked what I'd liked instead. Seems like a great venue and atmosphere is probably a lot of fun on a weekend or at night. We weren't expecting anything over the top at a brewery on a Monday for lunch. Beers were decent, and standard pub fare was good. Overall, we would not return based on the service.
