I couldn't be happier with my whole Second Chance Walking experience!! When I adopted my puppy Dottie, I knew I wanted to get her into a play group at least once a week to ensure that she had plenty of socialization opportunities and Second Chance has not disappointed. She comes home EXHAUSTED after play group and I love getting videos and pictures of her and the posse hanging out at the dog park! Jill and her team of trainers are incredibly professional and experienced. They care for my dog like she is their own and it shows. It's not just a business, it's a family. I have wholeheartedly recommended Second Chance Walking to my network and will continue to do so!

Thanks to Second Chance for sending this photo for our daily update! Looks like he is having a blast! We always appreciate an update

I would fully recommend Second chance dog walking! We moved to Massachusetts at the end of the summer and tried out a doggy day care in Somerville near our house. Where we lived before we did doggy day care and decided to do it again here. We figured it was an all day playgroup instead of just a dog walker but our dog wasn't tired or happy when he would come home. We are so glad we switched to the dog walker! The owner Jill and her employees are fantastic. Our dog comes home way more tired and happy than he did at the doggy day care. They come pick him up from our house with a couple other dogs and then they play at the dog park. This playgroup is awesome! They are flexible, easy to work with and it's easy to see they love every kind of dog. They are patience and loving with our energetic dog. Try them out!

I left my review to inform other dog owners who might be considering Second Chance and to provide the business with the opportunity to acknowledge their missteps, apologize for not contacting me or seeking appropriate care for my injured dog, and perhaps grow from the experience. The response they left is offensive and defensive to the point of seeming hostile. It provides its own testimonial to how you might be treated should you choose to work with Second Chance: Second Chance and Jill Stammer may try to shame you for declining to pay $50 for a 1/2 hour walk for your two dogs. They may lie about contacting you at your provided emergency contact number. They might not seek veterinary care for your dog if injured. They may not train their dog walkers to provide proper first aid. They may not know how to follow dog bite protocol required by Massachusetts State law. They might walk your dogs for more than a week in "unfitted" harnesses and blame you for it. They might leave your dog with a person you've never met and wouldn't recognize on the street. They may pour rubbing alcohol on your dog's open wounds and take offense when you respond, in horror, "f***ing alcohol?" (the only profanity or 'rudeness' you would see on any exchanged messages.) My dog who was attacked (the other dog sustained no injury, nor was a dog bite report filed on its behalf with the state) has been through tough times in his life. He is 10 years old and I have kept him safe for all of those that he has shared with me. Anyone who owns a bully breed knows how important that is. By entrusting him to Second Chance, I feel as if I failed him. I don't think he was handled well, and when he was injured, it is my opinion as a veterinarian that he was not cared for properly by Second Chance. I do not feel that Second Chance provided adequate information about the situation, his condition, or his attacker. It is my opinion that Second Chance failed me, and failed my dog. FYI: any dog bite wound should be seen immediately by a veterinarian (not a human EMT). This is because of the potential for infection and underlying injury to soft tissue, nerves, bones and joints that cannot easily be seen due to the dog's fur being in the way. Bite wounds tend to become infected very rapidly, sometimes resulting in abscess formation and sepsis. This is of particular concern in wounds on the face, around eyes, or over joints (which is where my dog's wounds were). Dog bite wounds are often accompanied by bruising and swelling, which can cause puncture wounds to close and trap bacteria under the skin, potentiating infection. Such wounds should be thoroughly flushed with plenty of water and antiseptic solution (such as chlorhexidine) and treated with antibiotics. They are also quite painful, and analgesics should be provided.

We started sending our puppy to playgroup with them when she was very small and have been working with them for over a year now. They all have a magic touch with dogs; they are incredibly talented at getting them to listen and always shower them with attention. We trust them when we are unavailable to take excellent care of our dog. They've also done an incredible job during the pandemic, and they have all taken great care to be safe and wear masks, etc. We are moving, and, honestly, our dog Octavia is possibly going to miss this team most of all!

She is also very flexible with scheduling, which helps immensely with our meeting-filled schedules. Quadrupeds has helped us keep our sanity while working full time and raising a puppy. Having seen the dogwalkers from competing services around the neighborhood, we are super thankful that we went with Quadrupeds. We know our puppy is getting the highest standard of care. We really can't recommend Quadrupeds enough. If you're looking for pet care, go with Quadrupeds.

I've been trying to get him here at least once a week, but may bump it up to two now that the weather is getting colder and the days darker. When I pick him up he's usually really amped from all the playtime, but after dinner quickly settles and chills with my husband and I on the couch - a tall order, as he is firmly in his angsty teen puppy phase. Weird aside, but I recently reached out to customer service to see if they've been cleaning him or spraying him with something before I pick him up, because he usually comes home smelling surprisingly fresh - I was told that nope, it's just the clean environment! All in all, this place is a great spot for your pup to get their socialization in and wind-up-toy energy out. I love that they know my guy by name (even if he's one of, like, seven Cooper's who visits), and I adore how happy he is to walk through the door each visit. When I asked them if they can provide any insight on what happened, they mentioned he was playing rough and was relaxing by himself- my dog doesn't relax by himself when he's around other dogs, he's playful and his RELIABLE dog sitter calls him the life of the party. They did however confirm they saw blood on the floor but just assumed it was from another dog's urine-- WHAT! As a dog owner we all know when there's blood in a dog's urine it is watery, it doesn't actually look like blood! My dog had blood under his eye, an open wound and blood reside in his hair. His veterinarian confirmed it wasn't an injury playing with another dog.

They have been reliable without fail (unlike my experience from the dog walking apps), text me an update of what my dog did that day after every walk, and what other animals from my apartment building he played with! It's clear Chris and Karen really care about the dogs they walk as if they are their own and make every extra effort to maximize their fun while their owner is away. I've also gotten to know some of the other dog owners in my apartment building who also use Walk-Ur-dog and they also have nothing but positive things to say about Walk-Ur-dog. My dog is noticeably more excited to see one of his Walk-Ur-dog friends than he is of the other dogs he sees. I haven't yet used Walk-Ur-dog's boarding services but I've heard they are great as well! Prices are very fair and paying is also easy via Venmo and Chris is very responsive and flexible via text whenever I've had changes to my schedule. Again, I cannot recommend Walk-Ur-dog highly enough! Thank you, Chris and Karen!
