Riverside Vacation Home - Hot tub overlooking the river!

The conference room table downstairs would be pretty epic for a team offsite. The views are stellar and to have the river as the backdrop to the entire stay was superb! Some attention to details would make things a bit better, such as ensuring there are no spiders or their webs in the showers. The A-frame "annex" staircase is super noisy so there's no discrete way to go up or down those stairs for others that are sleeping. Also, the Wi-Fi struggles to maintain a signal in that loft area, and thankfully my Apple TV and other devices did okay regardless. A second node over on that side would strengthen that easily. Would recommend to stay there for sure, hoping we can do it again sometime.

During our stay, we took full advantage of all the amenities (hot tubs, fire pits, volleyball court, ping pong table, etc) and had a fabulous time. The wedding ceremony and reception both took place out on the lawn beside the river and we had the best weather and most gorgeous backdrop. My husband and I stayed in the Loft Suite which was nice and private and also perfect for Mario Kart tournaments in the downstairs section (we brought our Nintendo Switch and hooked it up to their projector). These homes are huge, beautiful, and well stocked for any sort of gathering. Julie was my point person during the booking process and stay and was helpful, friendly, and easy to get a hold of. She responded quickly to all of my questions and even delivered flowers to the vacation home that had been delivered to her own home (an extra ~30 min drive each way for her). She went out of her way to make sure that our weekend was special and she succeeded in every way possible! We could not have been happier with our stay at Riverside Properties and will definitely plan to come back in the future.

Basically, the owner made an offer in an email that she did not keep and reserved the cabin out from under us a few days before our trip. Here are the details: I wrote Rita an email asking about the cost for a three night stay. She wrote back with a final cost and I confirmed via phone call. I gave over my full name, credit card info and home address. She then called back and said she was sorry, but the price she'd quoted me was incorrect because she'd based it on two nights rather than three. She owned the mistake and gave me a new price reflecting three nights. I agreed to the new price initially, and she sent over a contract to sign before 7pm that evening. After speaking with my wife, we decided the new price was simply too high so I wrote Rita to cancel. She apologized again and offered one of the nights for free to make up for the mistake. She said she'd email me a new contract to reflect this adjustment. I said that was wonderful. She wrote back shortly after to say that she was sorry, but someone else had begun to reserve those dates and she'd write back if they fell through. Ok? So here I'd gone 95% of the way through the process, received an offer in no uncertain terms, and had it retracted at the last minute ostensibly to earn more dollars from another client. I didn't post screen shots of our emails here as a courtesy. If it's your first time staying here I'd strongly consider other options first given the customer service issues I'd encountered so early in the process.

The hobbit house was very whimsical and adorably crafted. The fireplace worked well. There's electricity via a generator and primitive plumbing but no kitchenette or anything. We brought a little electric griddle that we prepped our seven hobbit meals on, and that worked well. The woodwork and ornate door is beautiful, and I loved the cute bathroom. We tried to fill the tub, but there isn't enough hot water to do it, and the draining is a bit complicated. Knowledge of how to operate a generator and problem solve electrical and plumbing issues may make your stay more enjoyable. No mention of the generator was in the listing, so when we checked in, we weren't sure at first why we didn't have electricity. We read the house book in detail, and luckily my husband is super handy and got us running. Despite the generator working, we still lost power and plumbing pressure more than once, and he was running outside in the chilly hobbit air to fix them. It didn't dampen our experience at all.. it was like camping, but it should be in the listing in case you aren't as handy as my husband is. Had I been there alone, I would have been in trouble for sure!

Here and back again. A journey definitely worth taking…read more You don't need to travel to New Zealand to visit The Shire. The adventure to Middle Earth is here in Washington State! I never knew such a place can exist in the PNW but anything is possible right? Location: A few miles past Chelan (on HWY US-97 North) two miles up the switchback gravel dirt road and tucked into the hillside to the left lies The LOTR inspired Hobbit Hole. It is about a 3-3.5 hour drive from Seattle. Parking: There is a designated parking spot reserved for the Airbnb. You will have to take a very short but steep walk to the entrance. Ambiance: I felt like I was in Bilbo Baggins house. Kristie (the Airbnb host) did an amazing job with every single detail. From the garden setup with a small picket fence on the outside to the cozy, non-modern wood crafted set up on the inside. The place was very clean, well prepared and well themed. The fireplace is the only source for heat but you only need to turn it on for a few minutes to warm up the entire place. We were served with fresh baked cookies as a greeting. A few items that are provided are herbal tea, coffee, water, an electric kettle, drinking mugs, toiletries, disposable wooden silverwares and a few games. Also provided is a station for wood chiseling if you want to tap into your creative side. This hobbit hole is very small and intimate, a perfect getaway for couples. View: Beautiful views looking through the hobbit door of the Columbia River Gorge Mountainside! Note: You will definitely get a feel of Middle Earth since it's a few miles from civilization. No wifi or cellphone service in the Hobbit Hole. I was able to get a little reception from Verizon at the parking spot. The septic tank goes off once in awhile and it can be a little noisy but nothing unbearable. The ceiling decoration above the bed is very low. If you a LOTR fanatic, then this is something to check out!

Really nice guy. It is about a 25min drive from Leavenworth but so worth it! We were worried about the snowy roads but they get plowed all the time and as long as you drive careful no worries there there's also a grocery store and restaurant about 5 mins away from the cabin. The owner stated his wifi is spotty. I tried to connect and it failed but I have my own wifi that worked just fine the owners website really doesn't give you any details so here are a few: -fully equipped kitchen including wine opener/wine glasses/pots and pan/cups/almost everything! -towels provided -he plows all the cabins driveway by 9am -bring a DVD if you want to watch a movie or watch the cable they have We will most definitely come back. So I started packing and getting ready until 3 days before my arrival the same owner emailed me saying he has other guests that wanted to stay at the cabin over the dates I reserved and he will let them come. Wow! What a professionalism. It does not matter if you are a big or small business owner, this is just wrong. Call me and talk to me instead of blindly cancelling like this. Stay away, or else you may be cancelled on last minute.

Well I'm unimpressed thus far with cleanliness. Finding not little but a lot of black hairs all…read moreover the main bathroom floor was gross. But the pile of hairs in the toilet was nasty. Totally gross. But the worst had yet to come. The towels literally smelled like mildew. My poor son, 6 1/2 and already exhausted because we'd driven for 7 plus hours and then all food options were eliminated by the late arrival, with only a microwave meal I figured a nice warm shower would help him relax before bed. Well he sadly looked at me and said "mama this towel smells really bad." And WOW it did. Then I was the lucky recipient of the next stinky towel. It was so bad I didn't even wipe myself off. I used the ONE washcloth that didn't stink to dry myself off. When we went to use the coffee machine the filter was dirty and the machine full of coffee grounds. It took me 3 cycles of 6 cups of water to get water to come through clean. How it was not simple enough to clean a coffee machine is beyond me. Our initial arrival we were greeted to a tower of trash and Rubbermaid bins WTF? When we called to ask about it they said they'd take care of it right away. At 12:30 am when we went to bed, it was all stillthere Day 2 we bought detergent to wash them because no one wants a knarly towel to dry off from the shower with. After washing them they're like new. But what a huge pain!!! For cleanliness they get a 2.5/5 from me. A bathroom is the second place you want REALLY clean aside from your bed. And then the kitchen. The beds were fine (a bit old and "springy") but I could have slept on the floor I was so tired. The bathroom should definitely have been mopped and properly cleaned. And I wouldn't have left a dirty coffee machine either. However, the ability to cook your own food 5/5 especially since it's slim pickings and terrifically long lines here for most places. The sledding hills at the property 5/5 because it's fluffy and clean snow. And great sledding. Assigned parking per unit 5/5 because it's easier to have "your" space than have to figure it out or fight for parking. Proximity to "downtown" is 2/5 if you've got kids OR if it's this much snow. It wouldn't be easy or safe to walk with kids with the amount of ice there is out and loads of snow. All in all, I give it a 3 since the value is there. Next time I know to bring cleaning products to make sure it's up to snuff.

This is our 20th Worldmark property where we've stayed. It's much smaller than others (Las Vegas,…read moreEstes Park, Indio, for example). It's a very intimate property, where some units are privately owned. Check in went smoothly. The concierge was very sweet and polite. I kindly told them we did not want to attend a sales presentation, nor did we want to be called. They were professional and accepted our no. They never bothered us after that, and we really appreciated that. We really like having a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit to ourselves-- even though we're just a retired couple. This sure beats sitting in a hotel room. It's very relaxing. Note to self: pay attention to whether or not they have elevators. They don't. I found out too late, and there were no lower units available. 19 stairs to climb, and it was tough on my bionic knee and arthritic hip. I dreaded the coming and going, because of that. My fault. Next time, I'll mention my disability. The unit was pretty clean, save for a couple of minor hiccup....such as the recycle bin not being emptied. As for the unit, we had a lovely view of the mountains and trees. We overlooked a park, and my husband enjoyed watching young kids playing baseball. It's about a 10 minute walk to downtown Leavenworth-- which is a cute little town that tries to mimic Bavaria. My continued complain is the ResortNet internet. It's a royal pain to share 2 devices and I'd get that dreaded "you have exceeded your device allotment". Arrrgh, even though I haven't. Calling ResortNet is futile.
