I cannot imagine a better home-based daycare. It meets all my expectations and I couldn't recommend it enough! When we were looking for a daycare at that time in 2019, there were only two or three places available for immediate enrollment. I chose Second Sweet Home Daycare that seemed good in every aspect. Nearly two years passed, and I want to say I am truly grateful to God that my son could live and grow here. My son (American-born Chinese) stayed here from 22 months old until 3 years and 10 months old. Every morning, he was excited to go to the daycare. Every evening, he came home with a smile on his face. Hamideh and Ms. Ana were very patient and attentive; they took care of my child as if he were their own. When staying at home, my son would say that he missed the daycare and the teachers there. --- Eat --- A picture is worth a thousand words. I have attached a menu for a particular month for everyone's reference. The food here is well-balanced in terms of nutrition, and there is a wide variety of options. Hamideh accommodated parents' specific requests. For example, when I mentioned that my son needs to drink at least 2 cups of milk per day, Hamideh would remind him to meet the goal. Hamideh used an App to record how long they napped, how much they ate, and the status of the diaper every day. --- Learn --- My son had learned a lot here. They had circle time every time where Hamideh read stories or sang and danced. Hamideh also tailored the curriculum to different age groups, including activities like letter and number recognition and tracing. Each elder child had their own workbook where they could practice writing and drawing. Hamideh also organized a lot of arts and crafts activities, especially during certain festive holidays. The two photos below are the crafts my son made for Father's Day and the Persian New Year (yes, the diversity here is really good). During holidays like Easter and Halloween, there were some special activities, such as Egg Hunting and Halloween Costume Party. On Christmas, they took beautiful photos of each child. --- Care --- I really can't express how patient the teachers were. It feels like they were much more patient than I was, even though they were taking care of over ten kids every day, compared to my only taking care of one child. They would do their best to meet the parents' requests. Hamideh helped with potty training. I remember one time my son had a poop accident in his pants, and Hamideh was willing to help clean it up without any complaints. Before going to the daycare, my son only spoke Mandarin. Hamideh, in order to ease his nervousness during his first few days at daycare, learned some basic Chinese from us. This really warmed our hearts. Every evening when we picked him up, Hamideh provided us with detailed feedback on his day, which made us feel very reassured. It is precisely this meticulous care every day that makes the kids feel like they are at home. --- Clean --- Hamideh regularly cleaned and disinfected the utensils and toys. On the last day, when I retrieved the training cup that had been at the daycare for nearly two years, I opened the sealed lid, and it was exceptionally clean. I have the exact same cup at home, and if I don't clean it for a few days, there's mold in the seal. If you are also looking for a daycare, you must come and see Second Sweet Home Daycare. Hamideh cared for our son from 10 months old to 2 years and we had the best experience. Our son absolutely loved her, the friends he made there, and Hamideh treated him like her own -- I could always see how much she loved every child under her care. She cooks home-cooked meals that are healthy and comforting, she does beautiful and creative crafts with the children, and fun outdoor play activities. I was so nervous sending my 10 month old to daycare, but Hamideh's daycare is so homey and welcoming, my son always enjoyed going there and came home smiling. What more can a parent ask for? I would 1000% send my child here again, and I plan to if we have another. read more

I used this daycare from October 2019 to March 2020 (until Shelter-in-place started). Super great daycare. I would highly recommend! When I moved to the area, I tried contacting about a dozen places before I stumbled upon Second Sweet Home Daycare. The owner was super quick to respond via phone call and text. We made an appointment to meet her and see her home daycare. After we saw everything in person, we immediately agreed to send our children here, it was such an easy decision. We were so thrilled that her location was also close to our home (within 2 miles). She really is a great teacher and was very understanding of my children's needs. Before COVID-19, she was already disinfecting all the toys, the floors, and everything the kids touched at the end of every day. This made a big difference because at the previous daycare, either one of my children or both were sick every week in the winter '18-19. This past winter '19-'20, the younger was was only sick once! I appreciated her attention to detail and care. She keeps a daily log sheet and writes down how much they ate, when they napped, when the diaper was wet or dirty. She also has cameras set up as an extra measure of care and security. All facilities have cameras, but this was the first home daycare I saw that had a cameras. I have full trust in her with my children. This daycare, on top of the teaching she does, offers so many toys that are better for children's learning. For example, I'll name a few: a cute toddler "wall of tools/tool table" set, building blocks, and other toys that force a child to manipulate and think on their own. Lastly, her kitchen smells so good! My kids eat all of the food. My older one doesn't really eat meat, but he eats all the chicken, beef, and fish in her cooking. It could be that she is a really good teacher and taught the expectation to not be picky about what meal my kid gets. So I tried to continue at home what was taught at daycare. read more

Hamideh has been caring for our son the past year at Stanford starting at the age of ~3 months old. We could not have asked for anyone more nurturing and caring to watch over him during such an important period. It's clear all of the kids loved her energy, sense of humor, and the fun activities she brought to the classroom. Additionally, she was always very communicative and reassuring to us parents, whether it was letting us know how each day was or helping to identify and reinforce developmental milestones. While we have not visited her new location ourselves, we have seen plenty of pictures and trust that it looks like a great place for kids to spend their days. Were it not for work/ home location, we would absolutely (and still may) move our son to join her here. You can trust you are in great hands with Ms. Hamideh! read more

This daycare is an amazing place! My 21 months son has been attending this daycare for a month now and I couldn't be happier with our daycare choice. Hamideh is such a loving and understanding person. I was very worried when I decided to put my son in the daycare since he had never been a way from me and it was his first time being away from home. However, Hamideh made it very easy for us. She has been absolutely incredible to my son and very responsive to me. It's very nice to know that he is in a caring environment while he isn't home. I know Hamideh takes such great care of my baby boy and it makes me happy to send him off every morning and know he'll be taken care of. read more

I had my son in Hamideh's care for a year, and she's absolutely amazing. So caring, so kind, and truly loves my son from her big heart. She would even surprise us and give us a printed photo of him with his carved out paper hands that would say "I love you this much'" All these surprises and tender thoughtful messages, with photos texted to us of his laughter and fun times, makes this daycare under Hamideh's care the absolute best. read more

Hamideh has been caring for our son Gabriel for over a year now as part of the Stanford daycare she was at before opening her own home daycare, and she is the life of the classroom. She is one of the most caring person I know, and she will be missed (fortunately, our son is moving on to the toddler classroom). She is super fun with the kids (her interpretation of Baby Shark makes all the kids laugh out loud), very easy to talk to and communicate with about your child needs, willing to adapt my LO's routine to his every need and our every desire (feeding/sleeping schedule etc etc etc). I hope she will get many kids now at her own daycare, and if it had been possible (geography wise) we would have put Gabriel there (I'm fed up with all the drama at daycare right now), but it is too far from home/work for us. I highly recommend you to go and talk to Hamideh, visit her lovely home, enjoy the yard and her company, you will be charmed! read more

We have not yet visited Hamideh's home daycare, but she started taking care of our son when he was just 3 months old (until his first birthday). Our son loves her so much. Hamideh is very caring, calm, well organized and passionate about caring for children. She is so sweet but also very funny and loves to joke, play and engage with children--our son is always giggling and laughing when she is around. I remember one day, she called me because we forgot to pack a lunch. Not only did she reassure me (no, I was not the worse mom ever), she also offered and ended up sharing her own daughter's food with our son. As with the 2 previous reviews above (from Michelle and Ian), even if Hamideh is no longer our son's teacher, our son still jokes and has loving interactions with Miss Hamideh when she drops off her own daughter. As a disclaimer, I have not yet visited Hamideh's daycare in her home. Plus the previous reviewer, Ian W, is my husband. However, I felt compelled to chime in to express how much we and our daughter love Hamideh! Even as a tiny baby, our daughter would light up whenever Hamideh was caring for her. And despite the fact she moved on from Hamideh's infant room a year and a half ago, they still greet one another with huge smiles whenever they meet! Hamideh's own daughter, who is just a few months younger than ours, is also a living testament to Hamideh's abilities to care for, nurture, and educate young children - she is such happy, gentle, calm little girl :-) Were it to suit geographically, I would not hesitate to hand our daughter and her younger brother over to Hamideh's capable, caring, trustworthy hands. And while we will miss her smiling face at our own daycare facility, we wish her all the best with her new home daycare and are confident that it will be a huge success. read more
