We took this tour as it was on YouTube and it was recommended by Gemma Eats chef.
Booking was easy online the day before and directions to meet at the Metro was easy walking distance from Placa de Catalunya.
Met Gianni along with another couple.
Gianni showed us the history of Barcelona by taking us thru small alleyways and local roads.
The first place we tried was a nearby bakery that made a pine nut cookie which I was disappointed - really wanted to try the hot chocolate w/ churros that the Youtube video I saw:

The next stop was in Born gothic area for a market place that we tried some cheese and jamon. Learned a lot about the different grades of the famous Iberian jamon.
Next was the wine drunk from a porron (wine sharing vessel) - that was fun!
Then we went to a tapas bar that had some the excellent foie gras w/ steak and tuna fish salad.
Next was a nut shop that specializes in smoked & roasted nuts. We had a good sample of just roasted hazelnuts!
Finally we went to a restaurant that served a huge list of items: baby squid, fiduea, bombas, seafood salad, and tomato bread.
Overall I thought is was OK, not spectacular like the video that I went for. read more
