Our tour guide, Miguel, didn't seem very knowledgeable about anything, and I didn't feel that the food he referred us to was all that special or even that good. Actually, I felt short changed. He brought us through the back…read morealleys and narrow streets of Barcelona and kept us off the touristy main streets, and peppered the tour with lots of interesting tidbits about the city, the history of Catalunya, the food culture in Barcelona, and himself! The pace was perfect -- a great combination of eating, walking, touring, and photospots so just when you were getting full, you had the opportunity to have a little walk to work up an appetite for the next stop. We went to at least 5 separate eateries (although I honestly I started losing count), some of them quite historic including the famed 4 Cats cafe. The tour even vetted out the best churros and best chocolate in the city (separate businesses), and brokered a deal that enabled us to try them together! Brian was a delight and in many of the restaurants, clearly knew the staff and owners -- this was great as it made us feel like VIPs and also gave us some insight into the history of the business -- some of them had been open and family run for many years! And weirdly -- even though Brian is American-born -- I felt that to be a plus: he was able to answer some of the more "basic" questions I might have been uncomfortable asking to a local, and given his time spent living in Spain thus far, I felt like he was still able to give us a really down-to-earth, local introduction to the city. Due to the size of the group, we only went to places where they could make reservations and seat a large group in a private back room. So we didn't visit any truly hole-in-the-wall places, but all the food was good so we didn't really mind. I will say this tour is possibly better for the beginning of your visit to Spain rather than the end. My partner and I had visited San Sebastian prior to Barcelona, and so many of the foods Brian was "introducing" like boquerones and croquettes we had already enjoyed and indulged in many times before.

We started the day with a windsurfing lesson on the Mediterranean Sea. On the drive there, Antoine described the Sitges area--its history and culture. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and pointed out all the major things visitors should know, along with great recommendations for things to do. What really set Antoine apart, though, were the little things he did throughout the day. After our windsurfing lesson, the sand was unbelievably hot! I was stranded, standing on my sail to avoid burning my feet, and Antoine ran over, grabbed my sail, and helped me off the beach. It was such a minor effort, but it perfectly reflected how attentive he is. For lunch, he took us to an amazing local restaurant and patiently walked us through the menu, explaining the dishes. Later, when we decided to relax on the beach, he even arranged towels and an umbrella for us to borrow since we hadn't brought any. Again, it was those thoughtful touches that made the experience so memorable. Antoine was simply fantastic with my 15-year-old son, engaging him with ease and making us feel like he wanted to be there with us throughout the day. If you're looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your experience unforgettable, I can't recommend Antoine highly enough. Phone Issue since we landed in Barcelona no connection we booked this tour on our way to Miami after we left US problems Viator didn't want to hear it after our phone worked the day after tour. 2. Tour guide said he left voice mail , there was no voice mail . 3 . Directions in Spanish with the phone not working our hotel was able to print something for us to try & into the church , no luck. 4. We waited in front of church to try & meet guide no luck we checked with 6 other groups no luck however one group sounded like to new something about our name. 5. Why would we just miss this tour after paying for me , wife, and another couple does Viator need $239 that bad . Both itineraries were excellent, and we could choose modifications to our itinerary and how long to stay in various spots. We had 4 people, and one had limited walking ability. They accommodated this nicely and the cars were very comfortable. I highly recommend this company and will use them again.
