Wonderful experience. As of March 2026 it's $15/tasting which can be waived with the purchase of 2 bottles. They allow outside food on the patio and backroom so my husband I brought a pizza which paired beautifully with their reds. The entire experience was casual and easy going and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely will back. A great way to enjoy a beautiful spring day. We walked in Thursday around 2pm and it wasn't busy. But later, people started trickling in. There's both indoor or outdoor seating. Tasting fee is $12 for 6 wines. They have very tannic, but bold reds and light whites. It's not to our taste since we like bold and smooth wines. You can picnic outdoor, but not at the bar. Secret Ravine Winery is a must visit! They are family owned and operated and craft quality wines from locally-grown grapes in the Placer County region. They are located minutes off I-80 in Loomis The atmosphere is very relaxing and they have a variety of seating outside as well as a tasting room bar and some indoor seating. They also have vines on site right next to the outdoor seating and picnic tables. The allow you to bring a picnic to enjoy while tasting their wines. Each wine tasting includes six tastings that range from white to reds for $12 per tasting. Many of their wines have won awards. Some of my favorite wines of theirs include their grenache rose, rattlesnake red blend and petite sirah. With their wine club you get complimentary tastings for members and 2 guests and discounts on wine purchases. Been wanting to try this place out for some time. Finally got the chance. First impression was the place was packed, but they were having a wine members event. The tasting room wasn't packed. I enjoyed my tasting with Darryl. He did a great job chatting and serving as well as serving at least two other groups that were outside. Seriously idk how he did it! Seriously! Unfortunately, this is the first negative review I have ever written. Our party of 8 showed up with reservations. It was a bachelorette party and this was our first stop. No one was drunk, loud or rude but within moments of entering the property, we were told to "move along to our next stop". We explained that we had reservations but the very rude elderly woman told us "I didn't know it was going to be "this"". We were shocked! If you do not like large groups, put it on the website! EPIC FAIL! We used to be members here; didn't continue in 2023. Glad we didn't. We had purchased a bottle of their 2019 Barbara in late 2022. When we opened it up last week, it clearly had gone bad (strong vinegar taste). Called the winery and spoke with a male (unnamed) and explained the situation thinking they would have offered to replace it. Instead, the male employee informed me that they could not accept food items for return. When asked if they would offer to replace it, he said that this was not their policy. We will NEVER return to this winery AGAIN. Ever! read more

This was a surprise find. Well....it wasn't a "surprise" per se.... the folks at Casque Wines suggested we go here, so we did. This is a smaller, unassuming winery doing some really nice wines! Of the 4 places we went to, this was the only one doing a tasting. (The others we just ordered flights.) Here, we were able to taste 7 different wines! We really really liked the Verdelho (a Portuguese dry white wine) and the Montepulciano (an Italian varietal). They waive the $10 tasting fee if you buy wine, which we did so score! Their wine is very reasonable priced from $16-34 with most of the wines in $20s. Our wine guide was very nice and was able to answer our questions, like how many cases were bottled, where was the wine grown, what was the varietal mix, etc.... And she was very observant in that she would come over when we were ready for our next taste without us having to flag her down. Their tasting area is outside under the shade. I would totally come back here should we venture to this area again. PS... you can also order sandwiches from the cafe across the highway. read more

Secret Ravine Winery is an amazing spot near Granite Bay/Loomis. There's a large indoor tent with a fire pit & space heaters - perfect for a chilly day. The prices are unbeatable - $10 for a flight of 7 drinks! If you buy a bottle, they waive one of the flight costs too. The ambiance is very fun and the location feels super safe during COVID. The tables were spaced far apart and the servers made sure to wipe everything down very thoroughly. I'll be back the next time I wine taste! read more

My family and I came here on a whim after brunch in Loomis and we are so glad we did. This winery is a small, family-owned business and operates right next to the owner's home. The home-y setting was quaint, cozy, and delightful. The indoor tasting room was closed due to COVID, but we very much enjoyed the outdoor seating. The staff was courteous and generous with their time, sharing stories of the family business history. The wine was amazing. Everything we tasted was delicious, and choosing just a couple bottles to purchase took some thought! Seems like a hidden gem - I would absolutely return and recommend this to my friends and family. I particularly enjoyed that the Loomis setting/geography, with its dense trees and granite outcroppings, was different from other California wineries I have been to (which are generally open, rolling hills). read more

I found Secret Ravine Winery as a result of playing a round of golf at Indian Creek .... They are right across the street from one another. The winery is conveniently close to I 80, with plenty of parking and knowledgeable, friendly folks pouring wine. You will often find the owner behind the bar who not only knows his wines (but much more) .... he actually teaches wine making locally. I prefer reds and my lady enjoys whites. The Cabernet Franc is my favorite. A big wine with aromas of juniper berry & eucalyptus. This visit I also sampled the Tannat 2015 and was impressed. A pleasant hint of oak, vanilla and berry .... smooth. I took a bottle to a friend and two more for just me. If you are in the area, check this winery out! read more

Service by Josh was rude and obnoxious. Sunday was the 2nd time he refused to give me my wine club distribution. The first time he finally acknowledged his error, realizing he have my wine to another club member. This 2nd time he said I got my 3rd quarter distribution on Oct 14th which was impossible because I was out of town and could prove it. He continued to argue with me and I left without being given my 3 bottles of wine. I reached out to the owners twice via email with no reply other than they did cancel my membership per my request. Our bachelorette group of 8 WITH reservations was very rudely turned away just seconds after stepping out of our bus (this was our first stop of the day and we were completely sober). As we approached the winery all dressed in vintage wedding gowns, a crotchety old lady quickly greeted us saying "we can't serve YOU!" After explaining we had reservations, she proceeded to exclaim, "well, I didn't know it was going to be THIS." Located in Loomis. Follow the non distinct signs or just map to find it. Almost missed the winery with the s signs. Tasting room is located at the location for some of it's grapes. Wine are sourced and produced locally. Like some of it's vine are right on site. Tasting room is quaint but plenty of room for seating. We are greeted promptly and helped by John to the tasting of several wet wines. More than five to try. The staff was knowledgable about the family business. He was able to explain which vineyard to which the grapes came from and their wine offerings and could field questions asked. All the wines were reasonably priced. We picked up two bottles as there was plenty we enjoyed Good: wine, beautiful grounds, service, local source. Bad: hard to read signs but worth the visit. I'll be back soon. read more

Tucked away off the beaten trail is Secret Ravine.. a very cute lil tasting room ran by a very sweet lady who has the exact same voice as my mother in law! It was freaking me out a lil, but in a good, comforting manner. Unfortunately, I wasn't crazy about any of their wines and poured out a couple of the tastings, which I rarely do! They all had a sour top note I wasn't vibing with..and that happens. We purchased a bottle just to be kind but, I was ready to just pay for the tasting and go. When we did break into the bottle at home, my hubby described the miners blend as "OK once u get past the turpentine top note" We must have had a bottle that had been open for a bit during the tasting, as it really wasn't that bad during our tasting. On a hot day, their A/C really took the heat edge off though so, that was cool. read more
