The only reason I would not give 5 stars is that with they recently changed their hours so they are now open 11-4 M-F and 10-3 Saturday. This has made it more difficult to bring school aged kids here during the week, whereas we used to be able to make it after-school. Overall, very positive experiences here! We adopted a kitten and her whole face got bloated, her eyes were red and watery, swollen, and she was sneezing hardcore. I don't usually own cats so I called and asked them about it, they were completely clueless. "yeah, maybe some dust got in her face and she started sneezing." Puh-lease. I was born at night, but not last night. I googled and used tik tok and found out she had a respiratory infection. So I had to use more money to go help her out because the vet said that she has had it since she was born so it would be a reoccurring thing, but PAWS told me that she was perfectly healthy. I then found out I had to return her because of my apartment no longer being pet friendly, and I could not get grandfathered in even tho I had asked. They were so hard to get ahold of until I finally could and I asked if we could pay cash or card, they said either. I told them I didn't get paid for a couple days after I drop off, is there any extra fees? They told me no, then told my partner once they got there, it was 13 dollars, with the card fee and if "we didn't have it, then we had to take her back." Despicable place. PETSMART should get rid of their partnership or whatever they have with them. And someone should probably go close them down. Never EVER adopt from them or take your animals there. Horrible people who work there with no empathy and horrible environment for animals.

Our puppy wasn't neutered like it said he was online, but he's too young to be anyway. Overall, our first rescue experience was easy and pretty stress free. Our puppy is a handsome boy and I am so excited about the future with him!

The online registration process was simple, the staff is friendly and assistive, and all the cats were well tended to. Nicole acclimated to my home right away with no signs of fear or having been neglected any time prior to her adoption. She had all of her shots up to date, was neutered, and was litter box trained. Today she is triple in size and weight, climbs stairs in a single bound, and loves to purr loud.

It's honestly unacceptable for a shelter that claims to want to help animals find homes. When I finally managed to speak to someone, the woman I talked to was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than offering any help or understanding, she made me feel like I was wasting her time. I mentioned that their website and google search clearly says they're open on Saturdays by appointment, and she flat-out told me that Saturdays are not an option -- with zero explanation and an attitude that was shockingly rude for someone representing an animal shelter. Their limited hours -- only a few hours Monday through Friday -- make it almost impossible for anyone with a job to adopt. Add the lack of communication, slow response time, and unprofessional behavior, and it's no wonder so many animals are still waiting for homes. It's heartbreaking, because the animals here deserve so much better than this kind of disorganization and attitude. If the staff can't manage basic courtesy or responsiveness, how are they supposed to help the animals in their care find loving families? I truly hope they take this feedback seriously and make real improvements, because right now, it feels like they're standing in the way of adoptions, not helping them happen.

No one explained to me what that meant; no one told me that my kitten had a serious, contagious illness that would affect him for the rest of his life. I am not a veterinarian. I am just someone who wants to love a cat. If someone had taken a moment to explain what "FeLV+" meant, to clarify that it was feline leukemia, that it could shorten his life, and that it could endanger my other cat, I would have been able to make a fully informed decision about how to protect him and my home. Instead, I found out what it meant only after falling in love with him. After I had already brought him home. After I watched him get sick, I was terrified, not knowing what was happening or how to help him at first. I don't regret adopting him -- not for a second. He is part of my family now, and he is deeply loved. However, the way his condition was communicated caused an enormous amount of unnecessary heartbreak and fear that could have been avoided with a simple, honest conversation. Please prioritize speaking clearly about health conditions like FeLV for the sake of future cats and adopters. A simple explanation could spare someone else from confusion, guilt, or loss and give cats like mine the extra protection and understanding they deserve from the start. This is the first review I've ever left, and I feel wrong going lower because Ducky is still alive, and my older cat is vaccinated. When the female groomer finally came out and told me she didn't have time to schedule my dog. She told me to go to the front counter to get him scheduled. I got to the front counter to schedule my dog and pay for his bath only to be told that he couldn't do it and that I would have to find Sonya. I asked him if he could get her to come to the front. He refused and told me I would have to find her or I could just go online to schedule. I was standing in the store, why would I go online. On the way to bathe my dog I happened to find Sonya. She was very courteous and assisted me with scheduling my dog and she was very apologetic for the treatment I received. The others in the store need to learn what customer service is. We buy everything for our pets there. If I hadn't had contact with Sonya I would not ever return. I got tired of getting the run around and acting like I was a hindrance to their business.
