Nothing's Left was nearby so I popped in just after what happened to be a very popular annual event: dog photos with Santa. A few dogs (and even Santa himself) were still lingering, which made for a fun and festive vibe while I enjoyed a pint of their Oktoberfest marzen. It was thick, malty and delish - just what I was looking for on a chilly Tulsa evening. The friendly beertender (who I believe was also one of the owners) explained that they're well known for their "weird" beer flavors here. But being more of a purist myself, I was glad to see they had non-weird options as well. There was also a fantasy football draft going on so I caught this place the day it was very active. There was a nice listing of beers on the wall by the bar. I went with the Dragonfruit, I'm not a big beer drinker so I try to go towards some that don't have that much of a beer taste. It did the job, fruity & smooth. I enjoyed my time while I was up there being interviewed & having an idea on how the whole place can be active with a packed house.

It came on a pile of potato wedges, which were also made well with crispy-ish outsides and soft insides. The fish on top of them limited the crispness of the outsides, but didn't lower the score. With a squeeze of grilled lemon and some malt vinegar it was pretty close to perfection. It may take a trip to Jolly Old England to beat it, and I've had F&C in England and Ireland so I can at least compare it to the good stuff.

Igloos are built in the winter, so you can stay warm. The beer was pretty good. My visit was a little chaotic - it was busy because of some nearby events. The street level room was closed. Upstairs, all the igloos were full and the rooftop taproom was crowded. Unfortunately there were only two bartenders and one of the credit card readers went down, which caused the line to back up. The staff was well spirited and gracious, but they were also overwhelmed. They did their best, though. Sometimes day and nights like this happen.
