I called down to place my order, and was put on hold by Whitney. When I got the restaurant, no one was there AND the place was EMPTY! When I advised that I had called and she placed me on hold but never came back. I told her that I was on hold long enough to brush my teeth and get dressed. She rolled her eyes. Never apologizing. While waiting on my food, a gentleman came up complaining about his service. She IMMEDIATELY apologized and adjusted his bill, then laughed and talked with him. I've been here before and had a wonderful conversation with the manager and hostess that was on duty. This time, was a bad experience. My order was two Ceaser salads with blackened shrimp. The food took FOREVER!!!! The customer service was DEFINITELY lacking! Whitney if you hate your job or certain folks, maybe do something else because life is WAY too short. Next time I'm here, I'll DoorDash if she's on duty. I will not go where I do NOT feel welcomed. read more

Wonderful place and time to go for Mother's Day dinner. 6:30pm reservation on Sunday with plenty of places to sit for a quiet dinner. The salmon was very fresh with smoked on the grill fingerling and al dente broccolini, as well as the medium rare tenderloin with a sweet herb glaze on top. Service started off well with taking our drink, dinner and dessert order and then we had to wait a while for the tab. The waiter did tell me happy mother's twice in the beginning and at the end with the tab. We requested to have the asparagus boxed up and never received it. I will admit we didn't realize it until after we had left. The dinner evening did end with the manager giving me a forever red rose. It was absolutely delicious I got the bbq burger, a lil sweet and overbearing on the bbq sauce, but otherwise perfect! Hubs got the ribeye, and loved it The crème brûlée cheesecake was also recommended and delicious It was not busy...... they have a ton of old fashions to chose from but even that menu they were out of a ton of stuff, so couldn't try what I really wanted * oh oh oh the Brussels sprouts were addicting and hands down the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had! The Avery was very nice. The place looked very well kept. It is connected to the Hyatt Regency downtown so its in a great spot. Tim was an awesome host. He made sure everything was perfect and even noticed when the bartender didn't get a drink order just right. The food was awesome and plenty. We ordered a few things and it was great for leftovers. Good food. No issues. I just got French onion soup and a wedge salad. And my wife got the shrimp carbonara. Bother we're good. I have to say the French Onion Soup was outstanding. We ate at the French Hen earlier in the week and the French Onion Soup here was better. The broth was rich and flavorful and ratios between broth and onion was really good. The Wedge Salad was fresh and cold. That's all I got on that. read more

My visit was meh. Ordered the baked spinach dip and the fish n chips. Fish n chips arrived 15-20 minutes later. Food was hot but lacked taste. The fish reminded me of fish sticks. Small skinny sticks. I do not think they made them in house. The fries were average. The dish was missing the tarter, the lemon was under the fries and as a whole was soaked in grease. I attribute this to them switching from Breakfast to lunch and not being prepared. I think they had to heated their grease up to the correct temp, so they had to leave it in the grease to get the fish and chips done, which caused it to soak up the grease instead of making it crispy. Now on to the baked spinach dip. It upsets me when a restaurant brings my app with my meal. In this case it arrived about 5 minutes after the fish. Was told they were out of pita and received bread chips. Then pita arrived shortly later. I think the delay on all this goes back to them both being ready for lunch service. As a whole I got the feeling of disorganization and poor prepping. For the money, it is a pass for me read more

Stopped in with business associates. Had a great visit. Started off with a great server, burnt ends and baked Spinach dip that was to die for! A skkirt steak salad was ordered and that person raved about the dressing. I ordered the Turkey Avo Club and got the onion burger, pictured...lol...was short on time and didn't question the oversight. A thickcut BLT was ordered and the candied bacon was drool-worthy. The Avery Salad was ordered by an associate -looked amazing but didn't hear any complaints or compliments. Another associate orders skirt steak tacos (I think) but didn't see it on the menu. Overall, it was an exceptional lunch and quiet (around 2:30). We look forward to visiting again. read more

We were looking for a spot with happy hour specials--unfortunately, this wasn't it. One of my pet peeves is when the online menu doesn't match what's actually offered, and that was the case here. I thought happy hour started at 3 PM, but it turns out it's at 4 PM, and it's nothing exciting--just wine and beer, no food bites included. I was hungry, so I ordered the tuna wonton tacos. They were tasty, but the portion was tiny for the price. The pear bellini was refreshing but honestly forgettable. On the plus side, our bartender was sweet and accommodating. However, we ran into a frustrating issue with ticket validation. We asked the bartender, who directed us to the host. The host then told us to talk to the bartender--back and forth until she finally said to find the manager. At that point, we gave up. Thankfully, the parking was only $4, but still--just unnecessary confusion. read more

I was staying at the hotel this eatery is attached to and wanted a quiet meal alone, so I ordered my food to go. But if I wanted to be more social, this place is definitely a good spot to go with a group or when you feel like talking to a stranger(s). It's really loud! But I should note there was a convention at the hotel, so I'm not sure this is the norm. My service experience was great. I dealt mostly with the hostess who was nice, professional, and quoted me an accurate wait time for my food. I ordered the Italian Beef and it was pretty darn good. I just wish there was more fillings but that's just my personal preference. I would definitely go again the next time I'm in Tulsa. read more

What a wonderful Valentine's celebration we had! My amazing husband decided to surprise me with the sweetheart package, which came with a $100 credit at the Avery. It was our first time there, and let me tell you, we walked in thinking we were in a romantic movie--rose petals everywhere and lighting that could make even a potato look seductive! They even treated us to complimentary Champagne, which was nice and bubbly. As for the food, the steak was so good it practically melted in my mouth, the whipped potatoes were fluffy enough to be clouds, and the mushrooms were like little flavor bombs. The bakef brownie dessert was delicious.Overall, it was a delightful evening! Staff was amazing. read more

I went with the Chia Seed Pudding & coffee during their brunch hours. The chia seeds in oat milk with honey, blueberries & a crumble that's honeycomb candy all comes together because I didn't want anything heavy & it's exactly what I needed. The pudding was filling & comes with a lot of sweetness. The coffee would help balance out the sweet (I keep mine black), wasn't overbearing. I got plenty of blueberries & I got plenty of the honeycomb candy crumble. I ordered over the phone, the wait on the food wasn't long. The employees were nice & helpful. This is my third time going to The Avery and honestly I don't know that I will go back again. The first time I went it was okay. The second time i went it was also okay and, when I asked if they would put the bread in my French onion soup on the side instead of directly in the soup, the chef said no. I explained to the waitress that the last time I had it it literally soaked up the entire bowl of soup and so I just had wet bread she didn't really seem to care that much. I went back today because it was a friend's birthday and that's where they wanted to go. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich that sounded delicious with caramelized onions and jalapenos. It was one of the worst chicken sandwiches I've ever had in my life. The chicken was dry and tough and had no taste. The onions didn't taste very caramelized. They were just kind of stringy. There was only a little bit of sauce and the bun was burned. I also ordered one of the $15 cocktails and it came in a tiny glass and was about half full. One of my friends got the same drink and hers was completely full. I didn't want to rock the boat because it was my friend's birthday so I didn't say anything at the time. We were all having a nice time and wanted to enjoy our afternoon. The only bright spot was that our server, Katie, was excellent. They were super attentive and just an outstanding server. This is such a beautiful restaurant that it's a shame that the food just doesn't match. Another person at the table got the same sandwich I did and halfway through just went this is terrible and stopped eating. I took my leftovers home but I think they're even going in the trash and I hate to waste food. All in all this was pretty disappointing which is kind of a bummer because it's nice to have this as an option when I go to the PAC. After a rough start to my trip to Tulsa, I came for a much needed night cap at my hotel bar, the Avery. Drew was the first person in Tulsa that greeted me with warmth and kindness. Coming from Las Vegas, as a bartender myself, it's hard to impress me with customer service, and this guy did it. My second night here, I didn't even need a greeting, Drew came to my seat and remembered my drink from the night before. THIS is next level guest experience. Drew, if you can see this, thank you. I hope your boss gives you a nice raise or bonus for Christmas, because you deserve it and the small things like that make a huge impact. Well done. The barbecue burger was my favorite. I had to go back and get it because that meal was not mine that day. I had the chicken with the mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes. The bread pudding was alright I wouldn't get it again because I've had better it's very edible. It's just not comparable to (bourbon street's) bread pudding .. We made a reservation here on a Saturday night before going to the Tulsa Ballet performance. We were seated right away and our server was friendly and checked in just the right amount. The drinks were good. I found the Caesar dressing bland without a lot of flavor. I wouldn't order it again but I really enjoyed my dinner the salmon was good and the fingerling potatoes and Brussels sprouts with the sauce were really good. I just had one night in the hotel, so I hit the gym and then was FAMISHED after. I ordered for pick up and it was a pretty fast interaction. The server and bartender were both so nice and hospitable, and the actual restaurant area was clean and welcoming. I chose the smash burger to protein up, and it did not disappoint. They gave a HUGE side of really good, fresh, crispy fries, but the burger itself moved me to write a review. It was HUGE and so flavorful, I'm craving it again. I took a pic that doesn't even do it justice, but the meat and toppings were spilling out of it. So full of flavor and juicy...gosh. I'm now actually hoping work lands me back in Tulsa so I can get it again. Try it for yourself, it's a winner. read more

We are dumber with another couple and our meal was outstanding. Two of us had the Frenched chicken, one had the salmon and I had the shrimp carbonara. In addition we split a wedge salad and the Avery salad. All of us raved about it food. Our server Tim did a wonderful job. The only thing we laughed about was that two of us at the table order old fashions and one came back with more drink than the other. The atmosphere was very comfortable. We give the restaurant 5 stars and we are returning for breakfast because we had such a positive experience. read more

My wife and I went here before a concert at the BOK. Best part of the whole experience is free valet parking when you eat at the avery. I just gave the valet a tip afterwards. Anyway...it wasn't full so we arrived and were seated immediately. Had to ask for drink menu's from our waiter. Ordered one of the old fashioned's and my wife ordered a mezcal drink. When they arrived I could tell they had sat for a while, mine was watered down and only tasted like whisky. Appetizer of burrata caprese was good. I ordered Dry Aged Ribeye and wife ordered Carne Asada. We ordered a side of loaded mac and cheese which never came but they didn't' charge us. Ribeye was charred on the edges and definitely not medium rare. not very flavorful. brussels sprouts weren't charred at all but had good flavor. they were the prettiest light green color. Wife's carne asada was ok, corn was ok. I knew my steak was $68 dollars but expected alot more flavor for the money. $150 for a mediocre at best meal and experience. wouldn't go back. no pics, didn't want to read more

Very nice bar / restaurant in the Hyatt hotel. The staff was really friendly and it was a very nice ambiance . I ordered the Italian Beef sandwich which was decent . It came out slight overcooked originally but once we told the waitress the chef recooked it immediately and even came out to apologize for the inconvenience . Overall it was a great experience and would def be back to try more food and check it out on a different day. read more

The Frenched Chicken was delicious, my compliments to the chef! The service however could have definitely been better. I guess I'm used to a maitre d at a fine hotel. Was provided a low ball glass of water no ice upon arriving but nothing more with the dinner. Also when we asked for bread with the meal they said they didn't have any. Menu didn't match menu online and I guess they no longer have non-alcoholic cocktails. Bring your own baguette lol. read more

Saw this place awhile ago on social media. Photos of the food and restaurant looked beautiful and was excited to finally try. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon/early evening for happy hour. All the staff were very friendly, including our waiter and I really wish I could speak highly of the food... Unfortunately, we were told the bar menu was being updated so there were NO drinks available for happy hour except house wine and beer. Bar bites were also excluded from happy hour :( I ordered the filet, medium rare and had to send it back because it was overcooked. Our waiter kindly had a new one made for me...sadly, while it was cooked medium rare, I believe the meat was low quality. The filet was not very tender and the coloring was off. Pretty disappointed with our experience at The Avery. We made a reservation several days in advance for a birthday brunch and confirmed on the phone that brunch would be available. When we arrived, we were seated with lunch menus and told brunch wasn't being served because the food prep employee was out. We understand things happen, but someone should've called to let us know. We stayed since we had a large party, but the experience only went downhill. The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet no manager came by to apologize--our poor server was left to handle everything. Several menu items were unavailable, and she had to repeatedly check with the kitchen. When the food arrived, the kids' mac & cheese was wrong, one burger was overcooked, and the Italian beef was dry. Service slowed considerably afterward, and it took a long time to get boxes, checks, and even the complimentary birthday dessert we were offered. Overall, communication and coordination were severely lacking. We'd like to give it another try someday, but this visit was a letdown. read more

I did not have an entre but the carrot cake was very delicious and a great size. I came in to grab a coffee this morning and although not typically the host, Adriana treated me woth the same respect and friendly service as any ither patron. Additionally, my server Katie went above and beyond to check on me and continued to ensure my coffee was full and i didn't need anything. Additionally, Seth was helping and also checked on me.
